General Music Discussion II

Postby Corrian » Sat Jan 25, 2014 10:01 pm

I believe that the thread title is pretty self-explanatory, but I'll explain anyway:

This is a continuation of the thread where you discuss anything music. Music theory, genres, if something should be called this or that genre (Ending up in an endless cycle of debating genres), your favorite bands, your list of favorites for the year, your favorite genres, you name it. Anything music related, discuss it, and be kind to each other and respecting each others tastes while also enjoying discussing your own.

These days, I can't really name favorites of bands as easily as I used to, but there is a big huge list of music I could mention in all sorts of genres. But I'll just leave it at this for now.

Welcome to the General Music Discussion Thread.

Please be extra nice to each other, and remember, this is a discussion, not a blog.

Heh, I decided to come snooping around and see how the old thread was doing and I see it, 'cept you're the OP and I was just like "wait a sec..."
Great to see this thing living on.

primus is actually really good. i feel like they got kinda screwed and treated as gimmicky, they're seen predominately as a flash in the pan 90's band. not fair. frizzle fry is a good album.

I've never listened to them, this chick at the college I went to wanted me to listen to them, though. Never got around to it.

One of my aoty's for 2013 was surprisingly a J-rock album. I listen to Japanese bands quite often but I don't really listen to stuff classified as "J-rock."

Tricot - the

Mostly math rock with a little bit of 90s indie emo twang to it. The vocals are pretty J-rock throughout though.
