The Athenian Class Battleship was designed to bring a superior level of firepower to operations where the Carthage Class Heavy Cruiser proved insufficient. One of it's primary uses is providing a heavy naval bombardment on enemy coastal positions. It's 10 x 22 inch guns are exemplary weapons, used as a replacement to the common 16 inch guns of most battleships. They provide a punch capable of knocking out the vast majority of enemy positions, fortified or not, in a single barrage. While primarily used in shore bombardments, these guns can engage naval targets as well. With the use of guided, booster assisted scramjet ammunition, the 22 inch shell can reach up to 240 kilometers. Non assisted ammunition is able to reach distances up to 38 kilometers. Both assisted and non assisted ammunition variants are available in armor piercing, high explosive, AP-HE, fuel air explosive, and SABOT rounds. A third and final ammunition variant is the gun launched missile, available in anti ship and anti fortification variants, reaching ranges up to kilometers. The 11 inch guns are the same that are used on the Carthage Class Heavy Cruiser, giving it one of the most powerful secondary armaments ever to grace a warship. AA systems are produced, under license from Halcyon Arms, providing these vessels with a superior level of protection from aerial threats. If such threats were to breach the defenses, there is a vast armor scheme that covers this immense beast, allowing it to simply shrug off all but the most vicious strikes, many of which would render lesser vessels a smoldering wreck. The Athenian Class Battleship also posseses a flag bridge in addition to the standard command bridge, which is far superior to the Carthage Class Heavy Cruiser's. It is much larger, allowing even more extensive operational planning, without interfering with the ship's own operations. The radar system is also far superior, using the greater size and space to base a far more powerful radar system. The Athenian Class Battleship is one of the most powerful ships to grace the seas. Those who wield it will be respected by their allies and feared by their foes. It is the pride of nation's. A true titan of the seas.
