I mean, besides from the Declaration of Independence, he invented the swivel chair. What's not to love!

He also cut taxes, started a war in the Middle East (the First Barbary War... okay it was North Africa, but they were still Muslim states engaged in acts of state terrorism), favored limited government and paying off debts, engaged in an imperialistic expansion of US Territory (Louisiana Purchase), and established the US Military Academy at West Point (and the Army Corps of Engineers, who would later become one of the largest sources of environmental damage in the nation). Does he really belong in this forum? :lol:

Then again, he actually cut military spending, eliminated or allowed to expire many provisions of the "Patriot Act" equivalent of the day (the Alien and Sedition Acts), banned the slave trade, and responded to British and French harrassment of shipping via an embargo. So he kind of belongs neither here nor there. :p
