The 66 Stadium, Cathair Capacity: 85,500
The newly-built 66 stadium became Audioslavia's home ground after World Cup 66, replacing the 1927 Arena in Kjeligsted, although the team will first use the stadium on matchday three. A modern stadium, the 66 Arena is a product of these heady times, featuring as it does a shopping centre, cinema, large and lavish conference rooms, room for the new Football Federation of Audioslavia offices, a swimming pool, gymnasium, one of the largest and most expensively constructed media centre in the world and almost five toilets. The pitch, however, is small and narrow - perfectly suited to Audioslavia's defensive, counter-attacking play.

The 1927 Arena, Kjelstad, Kjeligsted Capacity: 35,000
The Audioslavian national team have played at the 1927 arena since they returned to world football before World Cup 59. The stadium's location - on an island politically seperate from the rest of Audioslavia - ensures that Audioslavia are the only team in the world who's home stadium is *outside* their own national borders. The 1927 Arena was retired as Audioslavia's home ground after World Cup 66, meaning followers of the national team are no longer be able to turn their attentions, mid-game, to views of the vast, tranquil Bight Sea to the north, over the top of the low North Stand.

The Silver Jubilee Stadium, Ceilerden Capacity: 60,000
The Silver Jubilee Stadium was used as the venue for the World Cup 25 final - the scene of Starblaydia's first triumph. The stadium since fell into disrepair, but has been renovated - sans a few thousand seats - in time for the world cup. The stadium was used as Audioslavia's home ground between World Cups 25 and 29.

The Old National, Hasiera Capacity: 45,200
The Old National, formerly the 'Soundgardian National Arena', was the home of Audioslavian football between World Cups 4 and 24. The stadium, like its successor, fell into disrepair for centuries but has been renovated in time for World Cup 66. The stadium hosted the final of World Cup 7, which saw Errinundera win their first and only title. Despite the renovations, the signs of age are all too easy to spot. The media centre is tiny, the television camera station is annoyingly close to the pitch for home viewers and, above all else, the scoreboard is still manual - a feature unlikely to change since its use was written into the building contract all those hundreds of years ago.

Silica City University Stadium, Silica City. Capacity 32,000
The 'Uni Ground', as it's known in Silexhera, is home to the Silexheran national team, which was active in World Cups 46-49 but has lain dormant since the Silexherans stopped entering major international football tournaments.

Black Lemur Complex, Celtade. Capacity: 46,000
The Black Lemur Complex hosted matches back in World Cup 7 and 25, and is famed for its gargantuan, faux-obsidian exterior. The old seats were ripped out of the stadium long ago, replaced with a more corporate and luxurious seating arrangement that suits those with wider buttocks. While still an impressive sight when seen from the horizon, the stadium is no longer imposing from the inside, and has lost much of its old atmosphere, but remains a fixture in Audioslavian tournaments.

The Antzerkia, Ferramendiak. Capacity: 65,000
The Antzerkia is one of three brand new stadiums used for the World Cup. The absence of much in the way of useful flat ground in the Ferramendiak region, and the demand for the region to be used at some point in the World Cup, necessitated the construction of the stadium into the ground or, to be exact, partially into a mountain. It is a nod towards the Paladindome in New Montreal States, which was constructed by Audioslavians before World Cup 10.

Glass Bridge Stadium, Cathair Capacity: 45,000
Nicknamed 'The Crystal', Glass Bridge is a small yet ultra-modern stadium built on the outskirts of Cathair, specially for the tournament. Transport to and from Cathair is quick and effective, but does involve large numbers of opposing fans travelling together..
The pitch is small and narrow, with the spectators almost on the touchline, making for an interesting and claustrophobic atmosphere for the players.

Hygolje Stadium, Oljestaden. Capacity: 28,000
The Hygolje Stadium is the home of Oljestaden IF, a new 'franchise' team that will soon be competeing in the Audioslavian and Syndicatian combined-league. The stadium is a renovated athletics ground, with an extra-wide and long pitch put in place to cover parts of the old athletics track.

Soldaduen Eremuan, Izotzazubia. Capacity: 32,000
The home stadium of AC Izotz Zubia is one of the oldest in the nation, and after some long overdue repairs it has been deemed fit to host its first ever major-tournament football games.

Auldmoor, Ceileerden. Capacity 22,000
Burdock Ridge's home stadium has been given some temporary seating to push the capacity over the 20,000 mark, and will introduce the region to the smallest of Audioslavia's founding-members of the Audioslavia/Syndicatian Premiership.

4-Time AOCAF Champions
5-Time AOCAF Champions!!!

Head Coach: Nycflala Kater
The Descendant of former Vilitan star Jimmy Kater finally got the major silverware desired to validate his career in Vilitan Sport leading the Vilita & Turori Eel-Cat things to the AOCAF 41 title in a Player/Coach role. After many years of success as the starting goalkeeper at Strike FC and for the Vilitan National Team, disappointment at the international level left Kater searching for more. He left Strike in order to reduce his domestic fixture load and focus on International play. While the World Cup title continued to be elusive, Kater led the team from between the sticks in AOCAF 41 and returns in a similar role for the combined regional squad.

The coaches will select the squad from the National Player pool. Players are listed below, grouped by position and sorted by projection 'Depth Chart' position where the top player listed is most likely to be named the first player selected for that position, and so on. Depth chart positions are determined by performance in pre-cup training sessions, as well as performance and average ratings in the Vilitan League competition and previous appearances for the National Team.

GOALKEEPERS:

[ 82 ] Cilamara Issah [ - Marine Coast United - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 2 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ 0.00 Average Rating ]
Issah graduated from the Crosaibi Academy in time for the end of Marine Coast United's Season 37 campaign. After being named Marine Coast's player of the season during the first professional campaign, Issah was named Declasse player of the season during Season 38.

[ 93 ] G.Q Disterfred II [ - Inura Forests - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 17 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Young prospect Disterfred pushed Inura Forests into the top half of the Season 38 Declasse, earning player of the season honors at the club and earning recognition as a serious propsect for the National Team.

[ 85 ] Nycflala Kater [ - Kiiara-Torra - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 34 CAPS: 109 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/A Average Rating ]
Descended of former National Team goalkeeper Jimmy Kater, who took over the starting position on the National Team under the intense spotlight of the World Cup 17 Finals in Vilita and remained first choice keeper for the majority of Vilitan national competition in subsequent seasons before joining the coaching staff for World Cup 31. Nycflala made his full debut for the Vilita National Team during World Cup 57 where he was named the starter in 14 of Vilitas 16 qualification matches. Kater performed strongly with 6 shutouts and a 5.86 average rating. Many claim that the focus on the World Cup 57 Qualifying campaign distracted Strike players such as Kater from performing well domestically in VLeague 26. Kater ensured there would be no dissapointment in VLeague 27 leading Strike comfortably to both the League and Cup titles, repeating the feat during VLeague 29 and VLeague 30. After winning the Vilitan Cup, Stellar Division and Tropical Trophy just one more time over the next five seasons, Kater left Strike FC despite not having another contract lined up, looking to focus on the World Cup 63 Finals in nearby Turori. Humbled by the Jungle Cats epic failure in Turori, Kater went back to roots moving up the coast from Strike to Kiiara. After briefly helping at Kiiarana City, Kater switched to Kiiara-Torra and led the side to the Declasse title and an appearance in the Vilitan Cup Final, the first ever for the club.

DEFENDERS:

[ 61 ] Endur Rotropii [ - Marine Coast United - ]
------- D RLC ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 28 :: GOALS::SR: 3 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/A Average Rating ]
Rotropii made his debut for Marine Coast United during Season 38 and quickly grew popular with the fans in Crosaibi, being named Marine Coast's player of the season in his rookie campaign. Rotropii scored his first career international goal during World Cup 65 Qualifying in a 4-1 victory over Mashiki.

[ 62 ] Tlikao Muratai [ - Kiiara-Torra - ]
------- D C ( AGE: 18 CAPS: 14 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: ) :: [ 0.00 Average Rating ]
A Member of the AOCAF 41 Championship winning side, Muratai quickly proved his worth at the international level as well as earning a domestic transfer to Kiiara-Torra in the Vilitan Stellar Division for Season 40.

[ 6 ] Inaosnaa Klanoa [ - Mavaloiao (Vilita) - ]
------- D RLC ( AGE: 16 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]

[ 75 ] Jirijii Januaa [ - Kiiarana - ]
------- D LC ( AGE: 17 CAPS: 4 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ 0.00 Average Rating ]

[ 65 ] Amarini Baracelv [ - Alikki-Corra - ]
------- D C ( AGE: 17 CAPS: :: GOALS::SR: U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]

[ 0 ] Geafi Laina-Sola [ - Inura Forests - ]
------- D RLC ( AGE: 15 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]

DEFENSIVE MID:

[ 22 ] Klaillal Tuirma [ - Kionao Locals - ]
------- ATH ( AGE: 22 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Descendant of Season 4 Turorian Player of the Season and National team legend Cuolia Tuirma, Klaillal will work with Restiaa Mumamba to become the future "All-Around" player for the Turori National Team. Playing in a unique role, Tuirma will be expected to fill the role of being able to play every game, in every position - even Goalkeeper, if there are no subs left. Tuirma will certainly be starting as a substitute during their debut campaign in World Cup 62 but may get the chance to start against weaker opposition.

[ 32 ] Kamarul Zaman [ - Alikki-Corra - ]
------- DM C ( AGE: 17 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
A product of the Strike Academy, Tujamu Treola excels both defensively in the midfield, and with his head both defensively and on corner kicks. Treola made his competitive debut in World Cup 57 qualifying against West Zirconia. After spending the majority of his youth at Tivali United, Treola joined Jlinal Cove in the middle of Season 31 to attempt to save them from relegation but was unsuccessful, later making the switch back to the Stellar Division, spending one season with Arcticala Inlet before moving to Sile to play with Colonial, winning both the Vilitan Cup and Tropical Trophy with the club.

MIDFIELDERS:

[ 34 ] Lopaki Kilpter [ - Kiiarana City - ]
------- M RLC ( AGE: 22 CAPS: 27 :: GOALS::SR: 5 U21: REG: ) :: [ 2.65 Average Rating ]
After coming up through the Strike Academy, the younger Kilpter played 40 matches over 2 seasons winning a Stellar Division title before shifting up the coast to Kiiarana to enjoy a regular place in the starting 11.

[ 22 ] Etamara Kulkkiia [ - Cednia Beach AFC - ]
------- AM C ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 21 :: GOALS::SR: 2 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Kulkkiia was developed at the Cednia Beach Academy having been highly scouted and recruited by teams throughout Turori and even Vilita. After the Turori Eels failure to qualify for World Cup 64, Kulkkiia became the subject of media attention questioning whether the aging crop of players should make way for younger players like Kulkkiia in the Esportiva-hosted Cup of Harmony for World Cup 64.

[ 76 ] Vliela Lianksa [ - Jlinal Cove - ]
------- M C ( AGE: 18 CAPS: 11 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: ) :: [ 0.00 Average Rating ]

[ 23 ] Inlite Makakio [ - Inura Forests - ]
------- M LC ( AGE: 17 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]

[ 45 ] Dalian Magagula [ - Kirota Beach - ]
------- M RLC ( AGE: 23 CAPS: 3 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: ) :: [ 0.00 Average Rating ]

[ 23 ] Kigaoua Oalalka [ - - Unattached - - ]
------- M RC ( AGE: 16 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Oalalka never could get settled down in Vilita, taking trial runs at clubs such as the Turoki Tide, Inland Peaks and Mavaloiao before switching gears and looking at international transfer options.

[ 99 ] Purapal Eskiiy [ - Marine Coast United - ]
------- M RC ( AGE: 17 CAPS: 6 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ 0.00 Average Rating ]
Up and coming youngster who can trace lineage back through Lake Bekk and Starblaydia

[ 53 ] Altimo Ueboa [ - Alikki-Corra - ]
------- M C ( AGE: 17 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]

FORWARDS:

[ 41 ] Nili Ylimaiina [ - Arcticala Inlet - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 23 CAPS: 15 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: ) :: [ 3.76 Average Rating ]
Regarded as the 'next great thing' in a long line of Vilitan forwards when he made his debut for Kiiarana City, Ylimaiina has since moved to Arcticala Inlet in hopes of leading the Electricians back to their former glory. Ylimaiina was born in Vilita but also contains Starblaydi blood on his Mother's side.

[ 24 ] Enluta Makakio [ - Strike FC (Vilita) - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 17 CAPS: 4 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
After coming through the ranks in Kionao, Makakio's performances got the attention of the scouts at Strike FC who signed the young Turorian attacker for their Season 39 campaign.

[ 31 ] Matlya Eelador [ - Cednia Beach AFC - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 17 CAPS: 2 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]

[ 34 ] Inamari Altariiz [ - Mliona-Lpaka - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 17 CAPS: 1 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Altariiz was instantly identified as a high-quality prospect at Mliona-Lpaka and was promoted to the senior squad at 16 years of age taking up a starting role in Mliona-Lpaka's Season 38 campaign.

[ 46 ] Kaivel Illatara [ - Marine Coast United - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 18 CAPS: 2 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ 0.00 Average Rating ]

[ 44 ] Kiliko Riazen [ - Kiiarana City - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 17 CAPS: 1 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ 0.00 Average Rating ]
Riazen was trained in Alikki-Corra but opted to stay in the Vilitan Declasse after Alikki-Corra earned an unexpected promotion to the top flight, signing with Kiiarana City. Riazen's Krytenian bloodline makes him a secret weapon in the Vilitan arsenal, sure to be the ultimate future thorn in the side of any Audioslavian opposition.

[ 57 ] Lboaisa Akarelm [ - Alikki-Corra FC - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 17 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]

Introducing the Furellum Turtles!
Furellum's senior squad have been totally overshadowed by the under-15 team, who are quickly turning into the Audioslavia of the junior footballing world, having lost in the final of the last two U-15 World Cups. The Turtles faced an unlucky set-back in the Baptism of Fire, where they were eliminated after the group stage on goal difference, before being outclassed in qualification. Last AOCAF was a shambles the team would rather forget, and this time round they're looking to do better. The team will be without several key players in left back Vladimirescu and usual starting forward Vaduva, as they are currently competing in the Di Bradini U-21 World Cup.

The Background
To the unaware, Furellum is nothing more then a small island at the mouth of the Taaru sea in Atlantian Oceania. However, this is only the tip of the iceberg, as it were. The vast majority of the country is situated in another dimension, accessible only through the magical bridge which connects the White Tower in Altsby and its otherworld counterpart, the Moonlight Tower, in Other Altsby. Furellum is a land of magic, soaked in ether which the wizards of the country bend to their will. The country is home to many different races, species of animals made sentient and human-like by some powerful magic long since forgotten. They have been here for time immemorial, but only since the medieval period have humans lived in Furellum, when it became a Grand Duchy of the Kingdom of Maalvia. Much of Furellum is still stuck in the middle ages, with modern technology only beginning to creep into the nation.

The Team
#1. Gregor Petrovich (Polar Bear) Goalkeeper
A dominating presence between the goal, Gregor relies on his massive bulk rather than agility to keep shots out. Seen as a solid choice for the team, he's inclusion as the starting keeper over Dumitrescu caused some eyebrows to be raised. Petrovich is especially good at rushes, and likes to use them, perhaps too often.

#2. Bronislav Mlaker (Badger) Centreback
Cute and Cuddly, Mlaker has also been voted the player most likely to rip your head off and spit down your neck. A player with a mean streak, Mlaker is a fierce competitor for the ball. He may give away a lot of fouls, but referees should be prepared for the consequences should they get on his bad side...

#3. Baldr Ionescu (Red Deer) Centreback
Baldr is the pin-up of the team, the one who gets all the ladies. He has often been accused of spending more time on his appearance then his sport, but their is no doubt that he is a good footballer, if not a great one.

#4. Fyodor Iosef (Horse) Right Back (Captain)
Solid, dependable and strong. Iosef ticks all the boxes for a defender. His gentle disposotion and calming influence on his team, especially Mlaker, has also led to him being given the captain's armband, a burden he does not bear lightly. Fyodor was also named as part of Baptism of Fire 53's "Team of the Tournament".

# 15. Marian Constantin (Elk) Defender
The polar opposite of Lagunov, Constantin is cool, calm and collected. The Turtle's usual fill-in defender, Constantin excels at precision tackling and passing under pressure, and is sure to have game time in the latter stages of most matches..

#6. Igor Krupin (Weasel) Centreback
Krupin is the clever one on the team. Although the team rely on him for the tactics, Igor often uses his talent for his own purposes, such as committing sneaky fouls. Krupin rarely draws the ire of the referee, even with opposing players falling to the ground all around him. There are some who believe he could talk his way out of a murder charge, although this theory has never been tested.

#7. Symon Maksimov (Grey Wolf) Midfielder
Maksimov is one of the most technically skilled players on the team, and is well renowned for his ball control skills. Known as a friendly player, Maksimov plays clean, using his skills to avoid contact with opposing players.

#8. Robert Alexandrescu (Human) Midfielder
A multi-talented athlete, Robert plays a wide variety of sports. While the fittest player on the team, he only recently took up football, raising questions about his readiness to be on the national side.

#9. Germogen Sokoloff (Cheetah) Midfielder
The quickest player on the team by a long shot, Sokoloff is the key to the Turtle's attack. He has the speed to beat the opposing defence and the skills to find a penetrating pass to the forwards. If he has a weakness it is in his stamina, and he will rarely last a full ninety minutes without being replaced.

# 18. Havryil Petrov (Maned wolf) Forward
A man with a chip on his shoulder, Petrov is aggressive, confrontational, and emotional. While he may seem at conflict with himself, when he's in control he is a good forward with a powerful left footpaw that is sure to keep opposing keepers on their toes.

#11. Eleazar Szczelaszczyk (Leopard) Striker
The star of the national team, Eleazar is from a well known sporting family. His son Ezra was in the Under-Fifteen World Cup Squad, and his father was a pro-golfer on the Furellum circuit. Fast and flashy, Szczelaszczyk will be a big contender in the box, much to the despair of foreign commentators who are likely to have to repeat his last name.

The Reserves
#12. Volodya Dumitrescu (Hare) Goalkeeper
An unlikely choice for a goalkeeper due to his diminutive size, Volodya makes up for it with an impressive leap, good reactions, and a strong grip. He's fairy useless against short balls and penalties though, which is why Petrovich is the main keeper for the team.

#14. Vyacheslav Lagunov (Hippo) Defender
The number 13 is considered unlucky in Furellum, so Lagunov was given 14 instead. It doesn't seem to have made a difference to his luck though, as Lagunov has got to be the most clumsiest player ever to take to a field. On the national team mainly because two tonnes of flesh tearing down on you is intimidating for any forward, Lagunov is rarely called on for fear he may unleash chaos on the pitch. The only player in the history of Furellum football to score three own goals in a single match, his powerful kick might be a deadly weapon if only he could control it.

# 17. Luka Zelenko (Leopard) Midfielder
The player usually called on whenever Sokoloff runs out of steam, Zelenko is a decent attacking midfielder. Suspected of being a feline hybrid and not a pure-blood leopard, Zelenko has the ability to jump nearly two metres in the air, a useful ability whenever the Turtles have a corner.

# 19. Boleslav Balan (Black Boar) Forward
Not a team player, Boleslav's usual attacking method is to get the ball and charge towards goal, regardless of any defenders that might get in his way. While this may work sometimes, more often than not he will be dispossessed or called for a foul, so he is usually kept on the bench. He's like a nuclear weapon: Lethal, but extremely dangerous to those who use it and only utilised as a last resort.

The Kits
The AOCAF will see new kits for Furellum, once again made by Foroni Fabrics of Barunia

Starters in bold:

Goal:
1. Haki Asgard - GK (35) - A solid goalkeeper, experienced and a natural leader. Co-captain behind Sobek Dehenat.
12. Eren Dauragur - GK (28) - On the squad after Ko-oren B's good run in the Market Cup. He's growing faster than Enshadilsa, and with Asgard aging, he might get some appearances.
23. Storm Enshadilsa - GK (26) - Biggest talent among Ko-orenite goalkeepers. He should be first goalie when Asgard quits.

Defensive:
2. Svarlamn Norn - LWB (27) - Energetic leftback, has good passing and is always looking for an offensive break.
3. Sobek Dehenat - CB (35) - Captain and biggest personality on the team. Calm and collected, experienced leader of the defense.
4. Lodur Nidog - RWB (29) - Slow player, but excellent in keeping strikers away from the ball.
13. Katanmak Juliasterinthen - CB (22) - Biggest defending talent. Was given the starting position to see how it works out.
14. Fuujin Iwaki - CB (27) - Reliable CB, though he hardly does anything outside of defense. Poor passing.
20. Futushi Musashi - RB (30) - Can play on either wing, slightly unreliable defender who's in the best of his years.

Midfielders:
7. Fin Fenner - RCM (31) - Central passing man on the team. Any attack is likely to start with one of his passes.
8. Susano Sanuki - LCM (29) - The most defensive of the five midfielders, sometimes acts as second central back next to Dehenat.
6. Nalaikh Bagaurunir - DM (22) - Was on the U-21 squad in the Di Bradini Cup. Despite the poor results there, he was called for the team.
16. Roluswishandin Erlenajaur - DM (23) - Inexperienced and it shows, needs to play a lot more important matches before he can play in the NT.
15. Bjarswind Napertnau - CM (24) - The next Fin Fenner. Excellent passing, can even take free kicks well.
10. Palnatoki Idrasil - RWM (29) - Quick winger, unpredictable and good at crosses as well as dribbling.
5. Thor Alfar - LWM (25) - Can give good crosses, but is too slow to get in that position often. He is very strong though, and can hold the ball well.
17. Pta Talmis - AM (26) - Passing man behind the strikers. Knows exactly when to give a through pass, pass to the wings, or pass back.
18. Esolywend Eregrent - AM (22) - Attacking midfielder who is also just as good on either wing. Can even play central midfielder.
21. Holbuligen Bohanan - AM (26) - Best man of the Market Cup squads, leading them to 3 consecutive 2nd places. Can play anywhere on midfield.

Attackers:
19. Izasul Terathu - RS (27) - His speed, enthusiasm and acceleration is unrivaled in this team. His first AOCAF as starting striker, he replaces the old Shiribeshi.
9. Naemasu Tokachi - ST (29) - Second striker behind Terathu. Most assists are by him, but he can score too.
11. Koyane Shiribeshi - ST (32) - Has been the first striker for years. Still has '11', as no one dares to take it from him. Lost his fine touch, but is still a very good attacker.
22. Uilta Bonangorthen - LS (25) - Called because Ko-oren is short on good strikers. Was in the Ko-oren B team, and was quite good there.

This AOCAF, head coach Pet Rilasthaunden is going to experiment a bit. Three out of four prolific Greenblues are left out (Asgard still in goal, while Dehenat, Fenner and Shiribeshi are on the bench) to see if their intended replacements are already able to take over. Idrasil, the 29-year-old winger, was left out for Eregrent as well. This means the team will play with three defenders, two central midfielders, three attacking midfielders and two strikers as always, but that now Eregrent is in for Idrasil, the attacking midfield is more focused on the center of the field than ever. The team as a whole plays an intelligent, tactical game, and tries to avoid conceding goals at almost any cost. Their counters are vicious though, so don't be surprised if you suddenly find four Greenblues surrounding your goalkeeper when you least expect it.

The Inevitable Syndicate Presents...

The Inevitable Syndicate National Football Team
For The AOCAF 42

Mo'dioslavia, Mo'problems. A year ago, the Syndicate and Audioslavia hosted the World Cup 66, and the national team managed to defy all expectations and finish 4th, taking on many big names such as The Archregimancy and Wight in the process. The teams that contributed to the Syndicate's downfall? Eura, who would go on to win, and Audioslavia, who faced the Syndicate team in the third place playoff across the pond in Cathair. Now, the Syndicate are back in Audioslavia, this time for the AOCAF. You'd think by now that we'd be a little bored of our now ex-co-hosts, but to tell the truth, visiting Audioslavia will be an experience that much of the national team need. After a year, a lot has changed back home - including the fact that it's now a year later. But, more on that soon. So, the team that are here to thrash your arses are thus. Please form an orderly queue to be beaten by:

Squad Name: Sea Dragons

Home Pitch: Ekartera’al se Fuborii Vegai (Vegai Football Cathedral)
Image
Colors: Deep Sky Blue & Yellow
Image

Style: Tidal Surge 3-2-2-1-2
(-2 defensive)

About the Tidal Surge
The Tidal Surge formation is a hybrid style that makes use of athleticism in key “flex” positions that allow the formation to ebb and flow between styles to take advantage of personnel match-ups and break opportunities. At any point in the match the Tidal Surge can more remind viewers and opponents of a 5-3-2 (most often) or a 3 4-3 (least often) but can usually be found flexing in between those extremes.
Three key positions make this formation work. The offensive midfielder with which everyone is familiar and the two hybrid positions called “UP” backs. These two positions are a direct cross between center midfielders and outside backs. These two positions use athletic ability to move up and down the pitch changing the formation to fit the needs of current needs. Thus at any one moment the formation can resemble anything from a 3-4-3 to a 3-5-2 to a 5-3-2 creating, quite nearly, the perfect positions for almost any situation.

Other style notes:
“Smashmouth Footy”. That is how the Sea Dragons play when at their best. They prefer the motto “Hit First, Ask Forgiveness Later” and yet they have become adept enough as to remain just on the safe side of the cards so many other squads get. When you play the Sea Dragons two truths are evident - 1: You had better be ready to play tough and 2: you had better be ready for rough play.

On Species and Equestrian Hoofball
The Equestrian States is a nation of incredible diversity. When many countries make this kind of statement, they are referring only to racial matters dealing with differences in skin color or culture. But the Equestrian States takes diversity to a whole new level, with dozens of sapient species living alongside each other in harmony. From pegasai to griffons, and humans to dragons, the Equestrian States is among the most diverse nations known to exist. But diversity has also had a unique and intriguing impact on the playing of sports in the Equestrian States, and hoofball is no exception. In the following paragraphs, the natural strengths, weaknesses, and tendencies of each prominent species in the Equestrian States will be explored, offering those unfamiliar with the Equestrian States a chance to explore the wonderful diversity that makes the Equestrian States a great country and gives our beloved national hoofball team a versatility that few others can hope to match.

Stylistically, the Lymryk Isles have begun to play with a strategy known colloquially as the Tuna Sandwich. You'll notice that the human players play on the flanks with the pteronurians taking a more central role. In the centre of the field, the otters will maintain possession. Often making weaving and darting runs around one another. Due to their near incomprehensible communication system of squeaks and croaks, they can execute flawless dummy runs and fake passes to bamboozle even the most solid and tactically astute defences. This they intersperse with a more long-ball style of play on the wings with much switching and early counter-attacking crosses. When they find the correct mixture of the two, they can be a difficult team to pin down. Defensively, they are a little more cumbersome. The human half-backs will drop back into the centre to protect from crosses whilst the pteronurian centre-backs move out to challenge the ball. They can be particularly vulnerable during this transition of formation.

Image

The human members of the team play as, well, humans. Using feet, head, etc. I don't need to explain this to you.

The pteronurian players play 'football' a little differently. Generally, a pteronurian player will use their head more than any other part of their body especially for dribbling and then their tail for more powerful passes and shots. Due to the nature of this style of play, helmets have been allocated to minimise injuries. The pteronurians wear no other kit as, as they put it, they are not as prudish as their human counterparts. They will probably never use their paws. Despite being capable of standing and walking bipedally, they rarely do and scamper around in a way akin to a ferret.

The Lymryk Isles play a quick, short passing game. Working their way towards the opponents goal with slow build-up play, occasionally interspersed with a long ball counter-attack. The pteronurians being surprisingly nippy on land when they choose to be. From corners or other such set-pieces, expect crosses at difficult heights for humans. As your defender (assuming they're human ... ) tries to decide whether to head the ball or get their leg up high, a springing pteronurian will have probably already bounded through and headed goal-ward.

Also, do not be alarmed should you find a semi-chewed fish outside your changing room, or find yourself being presented one. This is a gesture of friendship and goodwill amongst pteronurians. However, feel free to freak out should one of our human players exhibit this behaviour.

Feel free to TG me with any queries regarding the strange and wonderful inhabitants of the Lymryk Isles.

Tourist's Handbook:

1) Where is Maklohi Vai and how do I get there?
Maklohi Vai is an island group, comprising an archipelago and a truncated volcanic chain, located in southeast Atlantian Oceania. There are ferries to some other nations in AO, but those are long rides typically unsuitable for tourists. The best way to get to Maklohi Vai is by plane, most likely through Kolo Lahi International Airport. From there, there are connecting flights, roads, ferries, or trains to all other destinations in the country.

2) Will I be able to communicate with the locals?
Maklohi Vai is a bilingual nation, with 98% of the citizenry knowing both Vaian and English. Highly educated people, no matter their field, will typically learn one or two more languages, often an East Asian language (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc.) or a major Romance language (French, Spanish, Portuguese, etc.). Those working in cultural and historical fields often learn Siroyese and Samoan as well. If none of these meet your language, there are translators available at all visitor information centers and major tourist destinations.

3) Where can I stay?
There are numerous hotels and smaller hostels in and around every city. The Vaian economy is largely built on tourism, so there’s plenty of options in many places. If you need help, you can contact the National Tourism Bureau.

4) What and where can I eat?
Like hotels, restaurants and cafes are abundant in cities and along highways linking the cities. In the more tourist heavy sections of the country, as well as those more metropolitan areas, cuisine is global, encompassing a number of options from nearly any place you can think of. If you’re looking for a trendy bite, try out a Vaian fusion restaurant, the new kids on the scene. If you’re off the beaten path in other parts of the country, you’re likely to find the local cuisine more frequently. This consists largely of fish and other seafood, tropical fruit, a multitude of spices, and various root vegetables like taro.

5) Are there any religious services available?
Yes, although they may be hard to find. Maklohi Vai is 94% atheist, with the remaining 6% being almost entirely Christian, mainly Mormon and Catholic. As such, it’s not hard to find those places of worship if you’re in a big city. There are a few other Protestant denominational churches in Kolo Lahi and Totai, a mosque in Kolo Lahi, and a synagogue in Wakita.

6) What cultural norms should I observe?
Vaians are very friendly, welcoming people. If they see you looking around lost, they’ll come over and help. If they see you looking very much like a tourist on the street, they’ll wave and say hello, a gesture which you should return. It is considered impolite to not accept an offer of hospitality such as a ride to where you’re going or another offer of assistance. Do not try to pay those who help you, as this is typically embarassing; it is better to give a sincere thanks and a warm handshake.

7) Will I be safe?
There is little to no daylight crime whatsoever, especially not in tourist areas. Likewise, if you’re going to a restaurant or bar and there are a lot of other people around, you will be perfectly safe. If you must be out at night alone, it’s safe on major roads and in the downtowns of cities. The danger lies in the rural parts of the country, off the main roads. There are opportunist theives who are not afraid to strip you of your belongings before letting you go. Murder and violent crime rates are extremely low.

8) What health services are available?
The nationalized healthcare system admits foreign patients free of charge for a one time ER visit. If you enter a hospital, costs are subsidized heavily, but do expect a bill. Amublances run with great speed, as do the police. Dial 444 on any phone to get services.

9) Are there sensitive politics that I should avoid?
If you are not a native of Maklohi Vai or otherwise very well acquainted with its political situation, it is considered bad form to make disparaging remarks against government officials. Mild criticism is acceptable, although not warmly welcomed, and if you voice strong opinions contrary to the present political situation, be prepared for a debate. Vaians love to talk politics and love even more to engage in a intellectual debate about it, especially with someone who doesn’t know what they’re talking about. It is best to not be that person.

10) How is the civil rights situation?
Maklohi Vai is ranked highly internationally for civil rights, and all people are accepted regardless of any preference, with one major exception: religious fundamentalists. The Mormon population in other countries may be known for their prosletyzing, but in Maklohi Vai they stay quiet for a good reason: Over 3/4 of the country identifies as anti-fundamentalist and anti-religious activism. If you hold particularly strong religious beliefs, do not share them out loud, let alone try to persuade others of them. This is a very good way to make a Vaian’s good charm flip to the opposite emotion. Besides this, there is almost no reason to be scared because of who you are.
"For the glory of our people, we govern our nation freely. For the glory of Polynesia, we help and strengthen our friends. For the glory of the earth, we do not destroy what it has bestowed upon us."

Ibex is a small, mostly-desert, land-locked nation found slightly west of The Inevitable Syndicate. It is populated mainly by "intelligent" Ibexes (goats). They speak, they work, and they pray; that's about it. The other species--pretty much any intelligent four-hooved creature other than ponies, cows, and pigs--tend to be slightly more educated and in administrative or important business positions, while still maintaining their spirituality. The top tiers of government and business are mostly the least-religious Ibexes, and tend to use the Opiate of the Masses as propaganda and a tool of oppression. Humans are advised to avoid visiting if they can; authorization for entry is difficult to obtain, unauthorized humans are usually enslaved, and there's not that much to see, anyway. Except for the hoofball, of course, and also some magnificent Cathedrals if that's your thing.

Kits courtesy of Kirola Sportswear of Audioslavia. The kit actually shown is worn by the team's human Valet; the players will be wearing kits of almost identical design, but shaped properly for their specific species.

Football Squad Selection of Nellietopia

Postby Nellietopia » Mon Oct 28, 2013 8:09 pm

So You Want to Know More About Footy in Nellietopia...

Well, that's a bloody mistake. Any exercise in understanding Nellies is an exercise in futility, much like emptying a bathtub of molasses with a spoon underwater. We've stopped trying to explain it years ago. But what you do need to understand are these:

(1) While there are many types of nellies, the most frequent (i.e. only) type of nellie found is the ubiquitous Purple-Stinging Nellie. These little critters are the conception of some crazed lunatic who spent his/her/its days inventing creatures with radically long stories filled to the brim with verbose descriptors like adverbs and adjectives (not to mention the odd plethora of parenthetical remarks). That crazed lunatic is now retired, but the conception that spawned the first purple-stinging nellie has given birth to a whole nation of nellies that very much dominates regional thought.

(2) The organization responsible for the defense of Nellietopia is known as the Armed Forces League of Allemenschen Critters (AFLAC). If you don't what that means, don't worry - we're still confused as well. The general jist is that the country that used to be the former territory of Nellietopia was once called Allemenschen, a poor country full of idiots (literally). Somewhere along the way, the defense of the country was subcontracted to a bunch of animals, hence AFLAC. The list of animals that makes up this armed force is only limited by the imagination allowed. Perhaps the most famous members are the Bovine Geese Corps, whose hatred of all things Sorthern Northland is quite renowned (even as the Snorths nuked themselves to oblivion). If you've been reading out latest (and greatest) in the Nellie anthology of xenobiological wonders, you'll also know there's someone new on the block.

(3) A typical match of footy in Nellietopia is simply chaos. There are eleven nellies with eight legs. There is that purple silk that the nellies will produce. There is the stinging. There is the biting. And there is the ball.

I mean, we could contrive some roster for you to survey and say "well, I think Jim-Bob deserves to score a hat trick today..." but we've evolved beyond the need to publish match reports. Does it mean that you're going to love every last bit of RP we write? Hell no. People hate it when we write, because it means ten-ninety-three words of superfluous drivel. Moreover, even if we were to contrive a roster of nellies, the reality is that Nellietopian society is becoming more and more hive-mind-like. Is it fair to say one part is above any other part or whole?

To prepare you with that inevitable reality, we've concocted a few "realistic" scenarios should your team face a team of Nellies...

(A) "The [TEAMNAME] was sent to hospital following the AOCAF match against Nellietopia, most players suffering from serious bites and stings inflicted by the opponents. The referee attempted to issue red cards to the violating players, but he/she/it was stung as well and sent to the hospital. Audioslavian officials are now quarantining the stadium and banning Nellietopia from sending any more nellies, threatening to nuke the country with a giant can of RAID..."

(B) "The [TEAMNAME] emerged victorious over the puny Nellies of Nellietopia. Audioslavian officials later issued apologies after the entire Nellietopian team was squashed under the feet of the [NATION] players. The nellies are still recovering from the hospital, although it is widely expected that the nellies will remain in critical condition for some time..."

(C) "I rolled special AOCAF XLII edition Nellie Scout Chance Cubes, and a badger mauled my niece!"

Well, there are other options. But that's for you to decide and for me to critique nonchalantly with a casual wag of my hyperbolic finger.

(4) More than likely, playing a bunch of nellies is going to be boring. I mean... they're nellies. You could spray a can of RAID and win. Or you could huff a can of RAID and die. Please don't die.

But instead of the match report, you could opt to partake in perhaps the greatest cultural legacy of the Nellies - an exclusive line of Nellie Scout brand merchandise! It started with the original - Nellie Scout Cookies, made with real scouts (not nellies...). Then we branched into other obscure (and long forgotten products). Recently, a new resurgence in the Nellie Scout brand has brought you a whole plethora of random shit that you don't need but you direly want (almost the same thing as needing, I suppose). Of course, you're welcome to buy Nellie Scout Chance Cubes - the chance cubes where anything can and will happen. Eventually, we'll catalogue all of those merchandise that the Nellie Scouts have produced, but for now, we'll suffice with cookies, chance cubes, frying pans, and cans of worms - mostly because they're the most amusing at the present, and quite frankly, we'll come up with something else that equally amusing later and forget about that as well.

(5) RP Permissions: you can do anything whatever you are willing to have done to yourself. Be mindful of the torrent of words that you may unleash upon yourself should your RP not satisfy the nellies, however (as a point of advice, buy lots of our Nellie Scout shit, and you'll be plenty fine).

BTW: we pledge to the hosts that the nellies won't do anything to defile the host venues that can't be cleaned up with a good amount of Nellie Scout Elbow Grease ®.

Hutt River AOCAF 42 roster

Manager - Albert Müller, 40

First 11
GK- Jack Stafford - 25
Solid goalkeeper who is currently at Malham United. Came into the first team at the World Cup and quickly impressed with a string of composed performances, which earned him the Hutt River number one jersey.

DR- James Soares - 29
Experienced right back who has a good engine on him as he can get up and down the pitch with ease, as well as being handy as crossing. Currently captain at Forford. First selected at the previous AOCAF and has been in the team since.

DC- Daniel Southworth - 26
A tough tackling defender who hasn't been given much playing time with the national squad. Has had a few good seasons at Erxleben, who perhaps may not have got as far as they have without him.

DC- Rudolf Schenke - 26
Towering central defender who is currently at Malham. A versatile player who plays mainly in the centre of defence but has played at right back and in defensive midfield for domestic games.

DL- Rolf Klaus - 32
Experienced full back who has been selected for the national team for a while now. A quick and versatile player who likes to get forward and score a few in addition to his defensive duties. Captain of the squad as well as at his club North Bury, a position he has held for 7 years.

DM- Craig Vevers - 32
Currently at Gehenhöhle and member of the squad since World Cup 65 where his good touch and eye for a pass made him an integral part of the side.

CM- Robert Hall - 27
A short player who is a skillful midfielder as well as a dead ball specialist with a powerful shot behind him. Like many of the others he was first selected at the last AOCAF and has been with the squad since. Currently plays for Malham.

AMR- Tony Nash - 30
After impressing on his few starts he had in the qualifiers, Nash has been given the chance to prove that he can start on a regular basis. Very fast and a good crosser, as well as being a good finisher, shown by being South Bury's top scorer last season.

AML- Jim Bexley - 22
One of the youngest players in the squad, Bexley is one of the creative forces in the team, liking to get on the ball and produce the final pass. He also weighs in with a goal occasionally.

ST- Steve Gibson - 25

The sun rose. The Conclave had just met before dawn, and as the Nellies all vacated the vast halls of purple silk, there was much mumbling and grumbling. Of course, that's just the way it sounds when an average person hears it, but the mumbling and grumbling was rather cheerful in fact. One little bit was not cheerful - some random hallucination that the country was under attack by some zombie apocalypse. The fact that it was universally shared with everyone single inhabitant was disturbing to say the least, and even though every zombie was eventually cured, the fact that it remains a hard-to-trace hallucination begged many questions of reality and pseudoreality.

But the one bit of cheerfulness came from the announcement that Nellietopia would be sending a football team to the AOCAF tournament for the 42nd edition in Audioslavia. "Where's that?" came the questions. "Some place off in the Northeast, beyond the land of dwarves" came the replies. "Ah, that's not such a bad place" came the positive commentaries. "Oh, but it smells funny" came the not-so-positive commentaries. "But they're friendly at least" came the cursory remarks. "That's just because they can't afford to buy cans of RAID" came the obtrusive statement. "Maybe they're more environmentally conscientious?" came the pragmatic apology.

There was much chatter about the new AOCAF, and the announcement of the Group Draw was greeted with equal amounts of chatter. Then came the quizzical introspection: "Whom do we send?"

There was much division in the camp of the Nellies. "We should send a team of our most seasoned nellies!" "No, we should include our critter allies in AFLAC!" "Have you seen the wombats?!? No way they could play footy!" "What about the wallabies? Surely, they're great dribblers." "It's a moot point, the Nellies are the only ones who represent Nellietopia. After all, it is called Nellietopia for a reason." "But the critters are equal members of our society. In fact, without them, there is no Nellietopia." "I do not want to see that damned Duck pressing his %$#^ red buttons!" "And can we trust those goats on boats?" "I thought they were sheeps on ships?" "What about the super secret ninja kittens with frying pans and bookmarks?" "Does this dress make me look fat?"

All manner of speech erupted, and doubtless there were questions to answer. The most important of all was who would answer them.

ooc: no tl;dr today

Perlasilangan National Football Team
MULAWIN
National Team for the AOCAF 42

Brought to you by:
Federacion ng Perlasilanganan Futbol

The squad is a mixture of humans, Musangs, Mulawins, Ravenas, and monkeys that will showcase their skills to the regional stage. They are identified in Perlasilangan as a select nickname preselected by the Dictatorship, since full names in the nation are so long that they won't even fit in the shirt. Humans are given two names, a name or nickname and the first surname, and the other creatures one name. Both of these are written in the shirt, for example, Zaldo Caisip is written in the shirt instead of simply Caisip.

Audioslavia is an ancient nation that will celebrate the 11th anniversary of its OOC inception around the end of the next World Cup. The nation originally CTE'd in 2006, was revived briefly in 2007 and 2009, and enjoyed a proper resurgence at the start of 2012, locating itself in Atlantian Oceania indefinitely after IC centuries of rivalries with various nations in the region.

The Audioslavia national side participated in World Cups 4 to 29, made an abortive comeback in World Cup 37, and rejoined the world of international football properly back in World Cup 59. The ancient Audioslavia side qualified for all but one of the World Cups it entered (a young Audioslavia failed during the WC5 qualifying playoffs) and generally maintained a place in top twenty of the world rankings, peaking at #1 during the qualifying phases of World Cups 20 and 21.

Paradoxically, the national team has seen more success in its modern form - a period where quick success is much more difficult to achieve than in the early days. Whereas those early years yielded only the inaugural U21 World Cup and a string of losing finals in the World Cup proper, the modern team won the Baptism of Fire tournament before WC59 and triumphed in the thirty-fifth, thirty-eighth and thirty-ninth installments of the AOCAF Cup. The side have also reached the final of the AOCAF cup on three other occasions, and have reached as far as the semi-finals of the Cup of Harmony.

Modern Audioslavia finally won the World Cup itself in cycle 63, a victory that required a huge amount of luck and some very po-faced, negative football. Audioslavia managed to win the tournament despite going into the qualifiers with a ranking of #53 in the world. Four years later, in World Cup 64, the national side proved that this win, as fortunate as it was, was no flash in the pan when they again took home the World Cup trophy, completing the first ever 'double-double' of winning back-to-back AOCAF and World Cup championships.

Ten Things Audioslavia's football team are famous for:
1: The claret and green striped kits, complete with white pinstripe. They have been like this, with the odd exception, since World Cup 4.
2: Jeremy Jaffacake. The indescribable Jaffacake has been a satellite of the national team - both as sports journalist and member of the FFA - since World Cup 6. It is unwise to cross Jeremy Jaffacake. In fact, it's often unwise to even look at him. Jaffacake is arguably the most infamous character in the entirety of sports RPing. He's certainly the oldest.
3:Choking in major finals. Audioslavia were the record holders for losing the most amount of World Cup finals without a victory, having failed in WCs 12, 19, 20 and 29. When you include modern Audioslavia's travails at the final stage of major tournaments, however, our record now stands at a much more respectable 6-7.
4:Being almost unbeatable in semi-finals. Audioslavia's senior side have a scarily good record in the last four of any competition. Their record in major semi-finals currently stands at 13-2. The side suffered their maiden World Cup semi-final defeat in World Cup 66, ending a streak of six winning last-four appearances.
5: Off pitch entertainment: A fervent, yet well-behaved support. Audioslavia's fans are generally friendly, enjoy mixing with the locals and are partial to the odd litre of whisky. Not to mention the tabloid antics of one Jeremy Jaffacake.
6: On-pitch anti-entertainment. The Audioslavian national team have always played effective, if uninspiring football. The side are usually solid, with a cautious approach play and a willingness to hold on to possession rather than attempt anything too rash.
7: Building rivalries: Audioslavia count, and have counted, a lot of nations as their 'rivals'. They are, in order of healthiest to most hated: Lemmitania, Karditan, The Inevitable Syndicate, Legalese, New Montreal States, Halfassedstates, Iansisle, Vilita/Turori, Bedistan, Starblaydia, Squornshelous, Rejistania, Total n Utter Insanity, Krytenia U19s, Krytenia U21s, Krytenia 'C'. Krytenia 'B', Them.
8: Audioslavia have had, throughout their history, a disproportionate amount of wingers with names beginning with 'J'.
9: Audioslavia are the first and only team to have been eliminated from the group stage of a World Cup on penalties.
10: Audioslavia is home to Kirola Sportswear, the manufacturers of some of the more... avant garde football strip designs seen around the World Cup.

Audioslavian footballers tend to be a little on the small side compared to modern NS athletes. The average height for a goalkeeper is about 6'0, but centre-halves tend to top out at 5'11 and other outfielders rarely venture higher than 5'9. All of Audioslavia's players, throughout history, have been human and male. Our players tend to be fairly quick with a lot of stamina and physical fitness, and are proficient at short passing. In general, however, our technique is fairly poor, our forward play is particularly uncreative and our small-ish team tends to struggle against physical teams. Our goals usually come near the end of games as our high stamina wins through. The national side frequently employ players of Audioslavian citizenship/parentage but who are naturalised elsewhere. Current goalkeeper Kajaxo Imaslavii and striker Vucidini Zekani were born in Vilita and play their football over there, and a significant chunk of the squad are taken from Starblaydi high-flyers Cedrus Soundgardia, a team based on Starblaydia's Cedrus Isle, a place with a high percentage of Audioslavian diaspora. Recently, the national side has used players born as far afield as Cafundeu, Taeshan, Turori and Krytenia. The amateur nature of Audioslavian football has traditionally meant that most of the NT squad - often all of it - play their football for overseas clubs, but the coming advent of the Audioslavian and Syndicatian Premier League (or 'Liga Batiob', to give it its sponsor's name) has enticed more home-grown talent to stay within Audioslavia's borders.

As for the current team, Arturo Hudson-Blake is the diminutive striker with some crisp finishing skills. Zonnestraal and Mannestraal Jansen are twins, both wingers, both very very fast and with the ability to play with either foot, although the duo have recently found themselves down the pecking order with Powell Pieran instead preferring a more cautious option with ball-playing midfielders Robles and Zubiri. Elsewhere in midfield, James Courier is the captain who's harrying midfield play helped Audioslavia to the last two World Cups, while Zerubeltzak is charged with creating openings for Huson-Blake and Vilitaslavian wunderkid Vucidni Zekani. In defence, the Cedrus Soundgardia pairing of Mancini and Mannini have been charged with filling the boots of Ryan and Garcia who, at 38 years old, have both retired from international football. Full-backs Tal and Polsson are both very fond of getting forward and will be prone to getting caught out of position, while goalkeeper Imaslavii is a star in the Vilitan leagues, currently first choice keeper at the famous Jungle Strike F.C.

Roleplaying permissions: We frown on god-modding if there isn't a sense of humour behind it. Everything else is fine. If you'd like to injure a few players or dish out red cards for a particularly harsh game, go right ahead, go hog wild. Want to injure the entire team in a bus-crash? Fine, but make it good, or suffer the humiliation of having your limbs scattered hither and thither via a blast from my mighty ignore-cannon.

Corvidae Triumphant

I found these on a USB stick imprinted onto a wall in Cathair Market.
Corvidae Triumphant. 1/? Samuel Dannin-Fresko. The end is never the end. Continue my story at the ruins of t2e overthrown.
A lot can change in just a year. What you thought was everything, your entire life, can be extinguished and stamped out faster than you can scream for help. Personally, I think that would be the more preferable option. What happened to me was worse.

September 12014 2178. A month of change. Children go back to school in the Syndicate on September 1st, or the closest Monday to it. The leaves change colour as we move into Autumn. But while the above are positive changes - one being in learning and the other in a continuation of life - the main change in the Sydndicate was not for the better.

It began with a broadcast. A broadcast that changed my world. I was sat at home, watching an episode of Dr. Leopold, like many other Syndicatians, when the screen cut to black. Thinking it was some sort of dodgy viral advert that SSN had allowed on the site, I got up to make a cup of tea. I could always rewind and watch it later. But before I could walk into the kitchen, music began to play that held me in place. The outline of a crow flashed on the screen. It filled in a pure, brilliant white, and a man's voice could be heard. "The Government has kept you in the dark for far too long. Follow the crow to see the light." I didn't think much of it, and went to the kettle after that, but looking back now I knew that was the spark that fuelled everything - a seed implanted into the general populace to incite change.

A week later, Andrew Browne claimed he'd stepped down from the position of Administrator for health reasons. Elections were to be held in the coming months, and I already knew who I was going to vote for. I'd been a FreeNex supporter my entire life, and Tracey Gardiner was the only logical choice in my mind. She wanted the nation to be a pinnacle of human rights, and that mean scrapping those archaic drug laws that the governments of yesteryear had put in place. I obviously liked the party for other reasons, and as a resident of Wozinitz, I quite liked them in the local council spot.

I had predicted a Green Party win for the country - the candidate (whose name I forget) had some good ideals, and in the first few weeks after the elections were announced, they'd gained quite a bit of traction. But I hadn't predicted the rise of a new party on the political scene. Corvidae. Corvidae were a party of fear - fear that they utilised to wrangle the general public into supporting them. They claimed that the war in Ahlenfi was still a prevalent threat, and that the nation would be stronger if were were to free ourselves from the other nations of the region that were weighing us down. That meant tighter border controls, less relaxed trade agreements, and making it harder for individuals to apply for asylum.

Their greatest weapon in their arsenal of fear was the FixGate scandal, in which it was revealed that The Forum had set the wheels of the Ahlenfi War in motion, by attacking Vaian Planes during the Tsunami Crisis. They pinned the blame on Ahlenfi, and sat agents in prominent positions in the Ahlenfi Army, forcing them to go to war against the "Syndicate pigs who had insulted their way of life". I didn't want the country to go to war. Nobody wanted the country to go to war. But these documents had revealed it was all staged. Even the occupation of Westonbirt.

I guess this explained a lot, such as the reason that nowhere was ever really bombed, and the fact that during the last AOCAF two years ago, nobody noticed the fact that a war was going on. Even last year, while nations came to us for the cup, nowhere was touched by the Ahlenfi. And that piece treaty seemed far too rushed and suspicious to be legitimate. Corvidae certainly had a convincing case for why we should vote for them, but I still held on and voted for Freenex in the elections in January.

Summary
Audioslavia is a large nation in North-east Atlantian Oceania, comparable in size with Starblaydia. There are several ethnically diverse regions and cities within it. Around 128 million Starblaydi nationals visit Audioslavia every year. Most visits are trouble free.

Calendar
Audioslavia, unique among world nations, shares the Starblaydi calendar: the day, month and year will be the same.

Local Laws and Customs
Expect the following:
  • You will be asked if your last name is 'Di Bradini'.
  • You will likely be taller than the locals.
  • If you are offered a 'Jaffacake', best to politely refuse it. Whatever it is.
Kjeligsted
Kjeligsted is a seperate nation to the north of Audioslavia, you may require to visit the 1927 Stadium for AOCAF Cup matches. There is a curfew that lasts from 11pm to 3am and alcohol and most other recreational drugs are banned. Please respect and follow these rules.
  • Starblaydi citizens wearing a suit, along with sunglasses or a hat, may be given preferential treatment in certain areas.
  • Coats should be worn over the shoulders, without putting the arms in the sleeves.
  • Do not carry a violin case with you, especially if visiting Kjeligsted, the locals seem to find this musical instrument unnerving.
  • A Scicillian-influenced culture means that to ensure Starblaydi visitors understand them, they will as 'yes?' at the end of a sentence, in the local form of 'ci?', with emphasis on the vowel.
  • Make sure to tip your bellhop, waiter/waitress, barista or paperboy, ideally in a grandeose fashion. It is known as 'personal gift from me to you' and be sure you mention this.
Silexhera
Silexhera was a separate nation up until 2140, and retains a strong sense of national identity within the much more oppressed one-nation socialist culture of Audioslavia.
  • 'The Black Cancer Sea' will not give you cancer. No more than the rest of Audioslavia, anyway.
  • Should you be religious, do not make outward displays of your faith.
  • 'Idiots' is actually a small town. It lies on a volcano that is unpredictably active. Best to avoid Idiots in Audioslavia, if you can.

AOCAF Cup 42 advisories
  • Taking a Cedrus Soundgardia FC shirt with you may help you blend in.
  • World Cup 63 will be mentioned at every opportunity. It really will.
  • 'John Ryan' is a local folk hero, his name will often be mentioned.

The Ministry of Morale is pleased to present the official roster for AOCAF 42, the official Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything. Israel Klimt, fresh off of an unsuccessful World Cup campaign in Audioslavia, returns to his homeland once again, only this time with far, far less at stake. Talismanic midfielder Fred Nguyen announced his retirement after World Cup 66, making this the first Paladins team to not start him in center midfield in 18 years. Phillippe Delafrénière will need to step up in order to replace him in midfield. Gaston St. John de la Ware and the rest of the Paladins defense have been replaced after conceding nine goals in four World Cup..

Starters are in bold.

Domestic sports leagues

NS is just a state of mind, time has no boundary nor does our sanity.

Please ignore my senseless ramblings, I'm getting old.
