Making it into a center of commerce, setting up basic infrastructure, ridding the land of the caste system, deposing the Mughals, separating the Muslims and Hindus, who had many qualms with each other, introducing records, and uniting the subcontinent. Horrible people, I say.

I'm gonna use America as an example. The British ruled it, and they have a good reason to glorify themselves for doing. The helped institute the basic tenants of the American system. They helped band together 13 regions that would have hated each other, if it was a different situation, and they made the colonies a center of raw materials.
