When Eaostia (which at the time, was Hong Kong) was being invaded in 2116,the Chinese were treated like pure trash by Eaostian soldiers.

However, after the takeover and birth of Eaostia. Circa 2122, the majority of Chinese were still very hostile towards Eaostians. But nowadays, both races get along. Due to the fact that the event happened hundreds of years ago.

What would be termed "racism" in 21st century glossary is a completely normal and acceptable way of thinking in the 27th century, given the nature of relations between Sidhae, humans, the Skargh and their servitor races. Everyone sticks to their own kind in the rare occasions they are not busy trying to cut each other's throats.

Sidhae view themselves as unquestionably the most evolved and superior species in the known Galaxy, and if any more advanced species would be discovered, that belief wouldn't change, merely leading to redoubled efforts to catch up and surpass them. Sidhae believe firmly in the manifest destiny of their race to become the dominant species of the Galaxy, a master race of sorts. Unlike the Nazis and similarly-thinking people from old times, however, Sidhae are keenly aware of the effort it takes to become and stay superior to other species, no means being too abhorrent to accomplish that goal.

Sidhae do not discern races in the way 21st century humanity would. Having negligible racial diversity among themselves and considering themselves a distinct species and a single race, there are no different races of Sidhae like there are different races of humans. "Race" in the traditional sense would be termed "sub-race" or "genotype" by Sidhae. To the average Sidh, all humans regardless of genotype are functionally the same, i.e., unaugmented and therefore inferior and useless.

Although Sidhae despise humans as weak, ignorant and generally inferior, humans still rank a tad bit higher in their eyes than non-human aliens do. This is attested by the fact that humans who submit to Sidh rule are allowed to reside within the Imperium, where aliens are invariably expelled, or more often simply exterminated.

Humans are kept strictly segregated from the main Sidh populace in overcrowded, dilapidated and filthy ghettos, the two species casually interacting only in Frontier colonies, away from the prying eyes of Imperial authorities, where the strict Sidh ways and laws are more lax. Humans have no legal rights, but neither do they have any legal duties - they aren't bound by Imperial laws and the strict Sidh lifestyle, they aren't required to serve in the army, their only obligation being to perform the occasional labour tasks for their Sidh overlords, usually ordered at gunpoint. Sidh authorities largely leave the humans to their own devices, only interfering where it begins to concern the Sidh citizens. The only way out of the ghetto is through conversion or volunteering for enslavement, both choices being permanent and mutually exclusive. Sidhae deliberately keep the humans living in squalor and misery in the hopes to convince them of the benefits of conversion while the unworthy and unfit gradually die off.

Human attitudes towards Sidhae aren't much better. Where Sidhae view humans as inferior because of their lack of augmentations and their adherence to views and practices deemed degenerate or simply obsolete and nonsensical, humans regard Sidhae as vile corruption of their original human form, monstrous machines rather than living beings, citing their cold ruthlesness and cruelty as examples of their inhuman nature. To many humans, a Sidh is a thing, a soulless machine, an abomination before God, a creature whose existence holds absolutely no intrinsic value (a view which Sidhae ironically support), much like a human is hardly better than a mindless animal, an insect to a Sidh.

Lastly, the Skargh look upon both humans and Sidhae (both known to the Skargh as "terrans") with the same contempt they behold other races with. Skargh do not generally discern between Sidhae and humans as separate species, an accurate assessment considering the unilateral Sidh renouncement of their humanity, viewing them instead as two feuding factions of the same species, which is effectively true. Like Sidhae, the Skargh too believe it is their divine destiny to conquer the Galaxy in the name of their gods, kicking aside and enslaving some tailless Terran pinkskins who stand in their way being not only a good and acceptable thing, but in fact a religious obligation.

Sidhae have managed to earn the grudging respect of the Skargh due to their powerful military, highly organized society and simply their superior fighting abilities when compared to ordinary humans. That respect, however, doesn't translate to much more than occasional acts of martial courtesy, such as being held for ransom rather than enslaved right away, partly because the Skargh have found Sidhae to be impractical to enslave, virtually all of them committing suicide or provoking the guards into killing them in response to enslavement, and partly because the Imperium is known to pay generously for captured Sidhae, usually offering a number of human slaves in place of the Sidh captive. So being held for ransom is a far better fate than the enslavement that awaits human captives who receive no such luxury.

In any case, "racism" is a normal practice of all three sides, a response of hostility evolved towards other races as a mechanism of survival.

The only difference remaining is between anthropoi and xenoi. Xenoi are again divided into xenoi proper, and ekhthroi. Xenoi proper are those non human races that have a friendly disposition towards the Commonwealth, and ekhthroi are those that engage in hostile activities. Note that we do not use the race as a unit in considering xenoi activity -- if those races are divided into nations, then we consider them separate. Although all aliens are xenoi, not all xenoi are aliens. A human will gladly call his friend who comes from afar 'xenos'.

In the 21st Century, the dominant ethnic group is Indo-European. But due to our history, we don't have a concept of the ethnicity as a distinct group, as a nation. Being an Indo-European doesn't mean you should feel a sense of fraternity with another Indo-European.

The racism from the Albaieien nobles is directed at pretty much everybody who is not ancestrally Scottish or Irish but they do respect groups of people who have done great service to the Empire like the Italians who arrived in the European Emigration to Albaie during the Napoleonic Wars.

Marshillers also enjoy freedom of expression, including a recent rally of Nazi sympathizers in Hillside's central plaza. Those who incite violence or commit crimes, regardless of motive, are subject to arrest and trial before the Justiciars Republican.

More and more, residents from the surrounding small Principalities and more remote areas are immigrating to Marshill. Projections are that our population will grow more diverse. By and large, Marshillers welcome these new Stakeholders and look on them as a source of continuing prosperity and recovery from the Great Dying, the Unsettled Times and the period of Martial Law.

All forms of bigotry are pretty much looked down on, but given free speech and religion there are inevitably a few racist organizations.

One of our more unexpected historical moments was when millions of college students banned together to protest the National Association for the Promotion of Equality for endorsing the use of deadly force for dealing with bigots. Ironically, the president of the organization ended up being shot for metabigotry.
