Yay? Nay?

Something about it feels... off.

So now that I think about it, I really do not envy my nation's soldiers. They've got it pretty rough. Most of them have been conscripted, beaten and abused in training, and then sent into whatever terrifying hellscape the Rustonian military has found itself involved in. If it's any kind of large scale operation, most troops in the field will find themselves squeezed into a hot and uncomfortable NBC suit that, if breached, will turn into a bag of poisonous gases that will blister the skin and burn out the eyes and lungs. Best just not to think what happens if you get VX on you. If you're in an active warzone, many of your fellow soldiers may very well issued rations of cocaine and amphetamines just to keep you in the field longer.

And if you have even a shred of humanity pray you don't end up stuck with occupational duty, where you'll bounce from being ordered to commit atrocity after atrocity should the locals not roll over and obey unconditionally. Failure to follow orders can mean being transfered to a penal unit, where if you're lucky you'll only spend ten years in.

Domestic. OOC wise, Ea90 made it for me. He's letting me produce it domestically since it's an important part of my nation's history and I'm giving credit to him for it OOC'ly.

The rifle I'm currently designing was, ICly, conceived in 1946 and officially adopted in 1953. It's a bullpup assault rifle chambered in a 7mm intermediate and the standard, r400mm barrel version is 550mm longwithout suppressor. With the suppressor, it's 615mm long. The only major changes to it occured in 1969, with ambidextrous controls, switchable ejection and synthetic furniture being added.

So I was thinking about the earliest I could field a 9.3x64 rifle? I mean 9.3 wasnt developed until the 1920s but its not a very advanced round and while my nation didn't exist really the black hand as an organization did so I was thinking of ICly having 9.3X64 in 1897 and it only leaking into public knowledge later? Given the secrecy of the black hand j figure this works nicely

The Type 50 is hardly the worst aspect of being a Rustonian serviceman.

My Model 49 was made in, you guessed it, 1949. It still sees unofficial use in the Military, Police and F.R.G, many still with original scopes and furniture.

I have...
-Light Machine Gun designed 1944/45, fielded 1946
-Infantry rifle designed 1946, fielded 1948, modernized 1954, again in 1990
-Rifle from 1891, modernized last in 1930
-Rifle round from 1889
-Pistol from 1895
-Pistol round from 1930, modernized in 1952 and 1995

How to small arms the Russian way.

And we all have shotguns based on archaic designs going back to at least 1870 (Brass shot shell). I guess that is one thing that they really got right.

IDT, Modernize shotgun shells without rendering the 80 million plus shotguns out there obsolete.

I vote we just put a MagPul logo on them.
