What is the meaning of your capital city's name?

Gibber, in Gibberish, roughly translates to 'free community'. Gib is community, and er is free.

New Surrey was named after the English county just south of London. IC, it was named because the region of Mars in which it is located reminded the early explorers of the North Downs. OOC it's named after the area of England first terrorised by the Martians in HG Wells' War of the Worlds.

Decepticon Headquarters was originally our main military base.

As is common around big bases, plenty of businesses opened up around the restricted area. Then, homes began to be built in the immediate vicinity. These homes first housed the employees of the businesses, but as the years went on, people began to move in because the amount of shops made the area desirable. Since it was also a time of total war - The Cybertronian Great War was raging - some people also moved there because they figured it would be safer if a big base was that close. Alas, the war was so total that everyone eventually ended up fighting in it, and the city became depleted through the years as casualties piled up on both sides.

Once we won the Cybertronian Great War, the planet had been almost completely depopulated - but this quickly changed after what is known as the Repopulation. Soon, Decepticon Headquarters was a thriving population center once again. Military strategists, however, realized that enemies would now likely come from space rather than the ground or within the atmosphere - so a big military base would be an obvious target for bombardment from orbit. This meant that having the base in the middle of a giant population center was now a very bad idea.

Upon realizing this, the actual military base was moved elsewhere so as not to draw fire to the area. The city, however, retained the name of Decepticon Headquarters due to its historical significance and the fact that civilian government operations were now centered there.

After the move, the base itself was renamed with the plain, descriptive title of Main Military Base, and is known simply as The Main Base in casual conversation.

Latipet is the capital province of New Boozland. The name Latipet comes from the word petal and in New Boozland, a petal symbolizes peace. (Petal backwards is Latep and Latipet comes from Latep.)

Astora, the glorious, sun soaked capital in the central mountains of Solaray was the name given to it by the pilgrims who first arrived. The mountains were given the name the Astoriana Mountains. When a settlement was built in the mountains, it was given the name Astora, which was essentially a shortened version of Astoriana.

The capital is named Bastion, after a heavily fortified structure used for defensive purposes. When the heart of the Empire was first settled, the wildlife was extremely hostile and the only remotely safe place was a large mountain. The settlers dug into a mountain and turned it into a bastion against all chaos, anarchy, and danger.

L'Etoile de Sang translates as "Star of Blood". Many outsiders believe that the capital was named as such because of Morturaria's bloody history. In truth, it was given the name because humans often marked capital cities on maps with large red stars.

Taezrat Ghertaa means "New Ghertaa" and is obviously named after an older city. The original Ghertaa was the capital of the Garzian Empire before a fair amount of the galaxy was destroyed in the War. Among the things that needed replacing in the aftermath were Ghertaa and the planet it was on.

The name of the city derives from the words "kapu" and "vár", meaning gate and castle in Hungarian. So Kaposvár is the "Castle of gates". Experts believe that it is possible that the city used to have many gates.

Although Sunny Skies has no official capital, when people need to deliberate stuff, they usually stop at the old capital in Kychen. Kyche is the true demonym to Sunny Skies born people, and this sense, Kychen means simply "Of the Kyche" but since the divide between Sunny Skies and Tysia, this name has been largely abandoned due to political implications.
The name the people use for the capital is usually Flower Field or Sunny Field, and it's pretty self explanatory.
