[PASSED] Condemn Greater Tezdrian

Postby Unibotian WASC Mission » Sat Mar 13, 2010 10:00 am

ImageCondemn Greater Tezdrian
A resolution to express shock and dismay at a nation or region.

Category: Condemnation | Nominee: Greater Tezdrian

The Security Council,

COMMITTING itself to diplomatic efforts to end international servitude -- a commitment which current GA legislation demands from member nations,

RECONGNIZING that Greater Tezdrian is the founder and the continued leader of the International Association of Slave Exporting Nations (IASEN),

NOTING that member nations of the IASEN are not obligated to comply to General Assembly legislation as the first clause of the IASEN Code of Rules demands that “all [IASEN members] must resign from the World Assembly”,

PROTESTING the IASEN’s marketing and promotion of their so-called “noble” practice of slavery,

AWARE that the IASEN operates through various storefronts and trade auctions across the world with an excess of over sixty-six million slaves in its possession,

DENOUCING the IASEN’s variation of “National Sovereignty” as a flimsy international excuse to abuse and ignore human and civil rights that were protected by anti-slavery General Assembly legislation,

AFFIRMING that Greater Tezdrian and the IASEN have promoted an even worse reputation for national sovereignists regarding human and civil rights,

APPRECIATING the gallant opposition to the IASEN by WA members including …Ozymos, Orlkjestad, Kelanis, Uregrea, Windica and former and non-WA members including … Ostronopolis, New Chalcedon, Questers, Santheres, Allemande, Ralkovia, Marzeron, Hardenburgh and troops from the World Anti-Slavery Organization (WASO) and the Oceanic Defense Coalition (ODECON),

UNDERSTANDING that the aforementioned and highly celebrated upholders of human rights took various actions against the IASEN including…

  • The seizure of slave ships,
  • Engagements of war,
  • Trade embargos, and economic sanctions,
  • Cease and Desist orders,
  • Anti-Slavery Coalitions,
  • Financial compensation and incentive for the freedom of the slaves,

ACCEPTING that a condemnation of the IASEN and its unrighteous founder is the very least that the World Assembly can do as an international entity dedicated to improving worldwide human and civil rights,

DEEPLY CONCERNED that the spread of servitude, and the reversal of existing liberties is imminent without early and responsive action towards this growing problem,

HEREBY CONDEMNS Greater Tezdrian.

Some facts about the International Association of Slave Exporting Nations (IASEN)...

IASEN Code of Rules:

1. All member nations must resign from the World Assembly,
2. All member nations must defend shipping routes if threatened,
3. All member nations must uphold the noble practice of slavery,
4. All member nations must promote slavery in all its forms,
5. All members must defend other member nations in times of trouble,

The association has over 205,000 standing troops that defend shipping routes if threatened.

OOC: Seeing as the World Assembly is hardly recognised in the IC Forum, let alone can actually do anything against the IASEN, I doubt this will be much use.

I'd suggest putting this one on the back-burner, Uni. Tezzie's organization is a tad bit small and new at the moment. If it does manage to grow larger, then we could look into Tezdrian's condemnation.

OOC: Its started a pretty big following of slave auctions on all of the roleplay threads. I'm not really concerned with condemnations going out exclusively to large nations who made all of their contributions years ago -- its my belief that there should be condemnations that are responding to new crises as well as condemnations for recognition of older ones... that means younger nominees.

Also nominees in II are limited because most of the draconian older members don't recognize the WA.

And why would the WA want Tezzie's organization to grow? Anyways?

Pascal starred blankly, "That is the name of my 'mission' to the WA, it allows me to partake in the affairs of the World Assembly without having to follow all of the legislation of the World Assembly in my main nation, Unibot. Also, our nation was banned from the WA, sooo, we need to use a mission. "

OOC: However you could make a nation called 'Pokemonmani WA Mission' for the same purposes.

I am uncomfortable with the mangling of IC/OOC that mentioning Resolution #23 in this proposal represents. More personally, I am disappointed to see a proposal I was involved in the drafting of being associated with the SC.

I'm also not sure if house of cards violations exist in the WASC, but, considering that, should that resolution ever be repealed (unlikely, yet theoretically speaking), this resolution's argument would be partly undermined, I'd say it could very well pose as one.

No, it would just make for a good reason to repeal this res as well.

The proposal would have DETERMINED to uphold the values of a resolution which is no longer in effect, I could do that now if I wanted to.
