Milić International Airport (NVS) Open for Business

Welcome to Milić International Airport!
Located near the capitol city of Novisad, Milić International Airport is the only airport in Mouchova with runways long enough to accommodate commercial jet liners and aircraft. As the central hub for Avionska Mouchova (Air Mouchova), Milić International Airport was severely damaged during the Civil War. Renovations and repairs were begun in 2011, and the runways and terminal have been completely restored to operational capacity by the Fall of 2013.

The business operations of the airport are managed by the corporation Milić Međunarodnog Aerodroma or MMA, but all aspects of security are managed by the National Transportation Security Bureau (Nacionalnog Biroa za Bezbednost Saobraćaja or NBBS). Security throughout the airport is pervasive, which includes passive surveillance cameras, hidden bomb and chemical sensors, full-body x-ray scanners for passengers, and armed security guards with bomb and chemical sniffing dogs. Security measures aren't ridiculous; no one will be asked to take off their shoes or belts, but everyone is searched thoroughly and continues to be watched even after they clear a checkpoint. The NBBS also assigns teams of undercover air marshals in the concourses and on each aircraft in the event of a hijacking or other incident on board an Avionska Mouchova airline during flight or in any of the terminals.

The capital city of Novisad is easily accessible from Milić International Airport by taxi, bus, or a light rail system. From there, the rest of Mouchova awaits you!

Airlines looking to add a new destination to their routes should contact the CEO Gabrijel Stjepanic or the COO Marta Knezevic of Milić International Airport:

Partnerships
Milić International Airport and Avionska Mouchova are proud to be members of the following partnerships.

Safety Standards
The safety of passengers and travelers is the highest priority at Milić International Airport. To this end, Mouchova's National Transportation Security Bureau (NBBS) has established multiple layers of security to protect passengers with minimal invasiveness to one's person and property.

Security Checkpoints
Security at Milić International Airport actually begins at the curbside arrival and departures ramps where passengers enter and leave the airport. Security cameras monitor each entrance to the airport along the ramps, and State Police are stationed near each entrance with drug and bomb-sniffing dogs. The police don't approach anyone, but they instruct travelers not to approach the dogs. The dogs do most of the work along the arrival and departures ramps, sniffing the air for anything that may give the police a reason to search a person before he or she proceeds any further into the airport.

Image
Security checkpoint staffed
by NBBS Agents
Only passengers may enter the airport beyond the ticketing agents, where they must pass through the first level of physical security. Ticketed passengers will be instructed to present their personal identification cards (which may also be a drivers' license), tickets, and passports if traveling internationally to an NBBS Agent responsible for an inspection of a passenger's documents. Passengers whose documents are not in order will be taken aside to discover what any discrepancies may be. In nearly all cases these discrepancies have proven to be simple oversights or technical errors, but NBBS Agents do verify with Mouchovan and international authorities to determine if there are any outstanding warrants on passengers traveling through the airport.

using a full-body scanner at
one of the security checkpoints
After clearing the NBBS Agent, passengers then pass through a metal detector as well as a full-body scanner while their carry-on luggage is also examined separately. Where the metal detectors are in place to identify the most common sources of metal on a passenger, the full-body scanner is also implemented to detect anything the metal detectors may miss. These scanners are non-invasive and the inspection only takes several seconds to complete as the NBBS takes anterior and posterior scans of each passenger. The scanners also work in conjunction with bio-scanners that can detect trace amounts of narcotics or chemicals used in explosive devices.

Image
Sample view of scanned
luggage being inspected
The full-body scanners are based on millimeter wave technology that uses non-ionizing electromagnetic radiation to scan passengers as they stand within a shielded booth. Since the radiation is non-ionizing and non-carcinogenic it is generally considered safe for use on living things. Carry-on and checked luggage are also scanned thoroughly by a combination of and x-ray and bio-sensors that can detect narcotics and chemicals commonly used in explosives.

Once passengers get through the security checkpoints with their carry-on luggage they are then free to proceed to their gates or enjoy the numerous stores, restaurants, duty-free shops, and other amenities that Milić International Airport has to offer.

Passive Security Measures
Even after passengers have cleared a security checkpoint they can be assured that the NBBS is still passively watching for breaches of security within the terminal itself. Overt and hidden security cameras will capture everything within a terminal or concourse, allowing NBBS Agents and police to respond quickly to civil or criminal activity within the airport.

The NBBS also relies upon undercover agents dressed as passengers to patrol the terminal and concourses. These men and women are the first responders to emergencies and crimes that may occur inside the airport. Although they are law-enforcement and can arrest persons on the spot, they are armed with non-lethal Taser weaponry and light Kevlar vests beneath their clothing. In any incident they will always be able to call upon more heavily armed police to respond should they be unable to control a situation in progress.

Customs Rules

Before traveling through Milić International Airport passengers are expected to familiarize themselves with the customs rules before packing their carry-on and checked luggage and passing through security. NBBS Customs Agents will inspect passengers as they pass through checkpoints to ensure compliance with all customs laws and regulations.

Shopping and Leisure

Enjoy one of many duty-free shops
at Milić International Airport
For tourists traveling to Mouchova, Milić International Airport is their first experience with everything the nation has to offer. The airport was designed around the needs of passengers, and the need to shop was certainly not overlooked.

The duty-free shops are among the most popular stores at Milić International Airport, containing a large assortment of tobacco, alcohol, jewelry, furs, and other luxuries commonly assessed with taxes in Mouchova. Although no taxes are assessed in the airport, travelers may be assessed import fees upon return to their countries of origin and are advised to declare any items purchased in the duty-free stores.

Milić International Airport hosts lounges
near a wide selection of restaurants
Passengers are also invited to dine at a variety of restaurants, eateries, and bars at Milić International Airport. Catering to passengers from all over the world, the selection of food and drinks on the menus are always changing and are selected according to the regional and international interests of nations whose airlines visit Mouchova daily.

Emergency Medical Facilities
Image
Milić International Airport is renowned
for its on-sight efficient medical services
Although it doesn't happen regularly, sometimes a passenger become sick, ill, injured, or suffers a medical emergency during flight or upon entering the terminal. Should these emergencies occur, Milić International Airport maintains a small hospital facility that can not only stabilize most patients, but also perform emergency life-saving surgeries in the event a passenger needs immediate medical care. As an extension of Mouchova's public health care system, international passengers don't need to worry about not having medical insurance or travel insurance that provides medical plans during their stay in Mouchova. Payment plans will be established afterwards; saving the patient always comes first.

Business Services
Milić International Airport is always open to discuss business relationships with domestic, regional, and international partners. Dear Milic International Airport,

All of our hub airports have direct connections to each airport that it serves. There is enough demand to facilitate additional gates for each of our destinations. All other airports will be served through connecting flights through these hub airports.
