Language(s) spoken: The most trustworthy, intelligent-sounding English, as science proves.
Population: 4,200,000
Description: God's Own County. Quite obviously the best part of all England, resplendent in our magnificent flat caps and superior cricket team. Here's a TL;DR version if you want. After the south of England got wrecked by the Abrahamic War, particularly London, and the power and wealth of the UK moved up to Scotland, Yorkshire continued doing fine, laughing at the southern ponces who were now poorer than them. While it still has a dislike of demons and other nonhumans common across the globe, Yorkshire is more friendly to magical humans than most other parts of England, in part because of Sir Nilark being from there, as well as Brian Blessed, who obviously has magical powers, as well as Matthew Lewis, who is Neville Longbottom, Chosen One of the North and True Hero of Harry Potter.
Demographics:
80% White Yorkshiremen
5% Black Yorkshiremen
5% Asian
7% Scottish
3% Australian-Scottish

If it's so friendly to demons, why aren't there more of them there?

Unless that's what Australian Scottish means.

I said that they still don't like demons much, like most other parts of the world, but were more comfortable with other magic humans than other parts if England. Though I think I'll change that and have Yorkshire be friendly to demons, as a giant two-finger salute to the southern ponces.

I quite liked your interpretation of AWB, better than my own.

But my own run of AWB later just because a chore rather than something I wanted to do, since I was busy at the time- which is why I happily and eagerly threw it at you, so I wouldn't have to deal with it.

And then you improved it and I went "Shit, I should have done that from the start."

It should be made clear that I had no idea what the fuck I was doing the entire time, and I was on the verge of terror piss at every post.

I'm working on something else now, which I've discussed with Astro in the vaguest of terms.

It may be folded as well, for different reasons, but I'm currently planning things. Glorious, horrible things. And, yes, people die.

Because that's the best part.

I have seriously debated in recent weeks of bringing AWB back.

I haven't, because I have a family that requires nourishment and attention, and also because Elfen High needs to stay alive.

I also doubt whether I should ever again create an rp that has the "open" tag, because of the sheer flood of people who would enter for my reputation. I would try to offend them away as quickly as possible though.

But I said that about Elfen High.

Elfen High became massively better when I tackled down much of my personal demons and stopped using, as well as family and such.

AWB could probably have such a rebound as well, but if it ever returned, it'd be massively different.

Probably would be set outside of San Francisco. Possibly Vegas. I liked your take on Vegas, but there's a lot more that could be done there. It'd definitely remain within North America though.

I have no idea what the fuck Vegas is like, so I stuck to the tourist-y parts.

Which was nice, but there's definitely stuff we could've done elsewhere. I don't think I ran the RP terribly well, though I had good ideas.

The reason it was called A World Beyond was actually not a reference to the vampires and werewolves and such at all.

It was actually originally going to lead to a reveal of the Shadow Realms, which are like mirror pocket universes that could be accessed by touching weak points in the fabric of reality and walking into them.

It was heavily inspired by Neverwhere and the Other London.

However, somewhere or another that idea got tossed out.

Neverwhere is inexplicably fantastic, and I thus endorse this idea.

Ultimately, it got blended into our general Nightkill's Shit canon. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it did limit us.

In hindsight, likely a mistake - the players didn't react as happy to it as I had expected at first.

But whatever.

Yes, there was originally going to be something like a Other San Francisco, with the vampires and so on living in this pocket universe and only on occasion coming out into our world, usually when hunting. The Other San Francisco would have its own politics and power plays that coincided with our San Francisco in strange ways normal, untouched (humans not selected by G in his mysterious game) could not see properly or understand.

I later realised my idea was somewhat similar to the Mist in Percy Jackson when I read a book of that series months later.

I'll flat out admit now that Nicholas Carry never died. He was always intended to come back and reveal himself to be hiding from his foes and rivals.

In fact, when the hospital blew up, I intended Carry to have been in the rubble, still alive, which is why I had one of my characters yell at everyone to go search for him. But when everyone already marked Carry for dead, I rolled with it and saved him for later.

Most of it is petty bitching about canon (that the people who wrote the canon ignored), effects, dramatic stuff, and Murray Gold.

Some of it is absolutely glorious, though.

Most of it is petty bitching about canon (that the people who wrote the canon ignored), effects, dramatic stuff, and Murray Gold.

Some of it is absolutely glorious, though.

I am going to miss Gold if he ever leaves.
Hi! I'm Khan, your local misanthropic Indian.
I wear teal, blue & pink for Swith.

If you want a good rp, read this shit.
Tiami is cool.
Nat: Night's always in some bizarre state somewhere between "intoxicated enough to kill a hair metal lead singer" and "annoying Mormon missionary sober".

Swith: It's because you're so awesome. God himself refreshes the screen before he types just to see if Nightkill has written anything while he was off somewhere else.

It's Nightkill. He's been there so long he rents out rooms to other people at a flat rate, but demands cash up front.

Murray Gold is not allowed to leave.

Ever.

Goodbye.

The Mist is the only Percy Jackson element I actually like.

It's a pretty cool idea.

It's nice, but it's also a really, really easy way out for the author.

"How do people not notice a fucking Minotaur?"
"Mist causes everyone to see hallucinations. We special people can see through it though!"
"What about Rachel though?"
"Um... well, she's special! Even if she's a mortal!"
"I should have listened to her, so hard to keep control. We kept on eating but our bloated bellies still not full."

Don't get me wrong - they're terrible books.

But they have some neat concepts.
