The Guild of Prevanian Airship Manufacturers represents the interests of Prevanian airship producers. Airship manufacturing in Prevania has a long and distinguished heritage and we pride ourselves on our exceptional safety record, in addition to our many size, speed and endurance records. Being a member of the Guild of Prevanian Airship Manufacturers, a company must demonstrate its willingness to abide by our ethos of excellence. This means that we can guarantee that all Guild airships will be built to the highest standards, with the best materials, at the lowest possible cost. As such, we are proud to place before you today our official storefront.

Purchases

Should you be desirous of a purchase, please sent a telegram or letter to the Guild detailing which airship(s) you would like manufactured. Upon receipt of your order, we will confirm that your order is possible. Following the receipt of the funds, we will lay the keel of your airship as soon as possible.

Post-Sale Maintenance Programme

The Guild now offers the Post-Sale Maintenance Programme (PSMP). Should you choose to purchase this, Guild mechanics, engineers and experts will maintain your aerofleet. This will take the risk of managing an aerofleet off your hands, allowing you to concentrate on your core objectives. The PSMP covers a set number of hours: airships can operate beyond these times, but, being older, maintenance costs will increase.

Military airships - 45 000 hours - 250% of the build cost
Civilian airships - 40 000 hours - 100% of the build cost
Civilian airships - 80 000 hours - 250% of the build cost
Civilian airships - 120 000 hours - 400% of the build cost

Please note, the PSMP does not cover damage caused by war or acts of the Gods: these will cost extra to repair. All prices open to negotiation.

Design Requests

The Guild of Prevanian Airship Manufacturers can also design new airships to fit your needs. Should you be interested, please contact us; we will be more than happy to help. For more information, please follow the link in the title.

Production Licenses

Production licences are available for all our airships. Please see the link in the title for details.

Civilian Airships

Anemoi Class Aeroliner (2000) - US$ 150 000 000
Their names homages to the wind gods upon whom all airships depend, the Anemoi Class Aeroliners are truly the very best in safe, fast and luxurious airship travel.

Plutus Class Aerocargoship (1998) - US$ 320 000 000
The most popular large cargo airship in Prevanian service, the Plutus is a highly versatile airship, able to be modified to suit a variety of roles, including those of long-range ,bulk ,rapid and military transportation.

Caerus Class Aerocargoship (1992) (image) - US$ 160 000 000
A medium sized aerocargoship, the Caerus is designed to be as cost effective as possible, pursuing neither great speed, nor range, nor altitude.

Red Rose Class Aeroliner (2011) - US$ 2 400 000 000
A massive, 1.2 km long aeroliner, the Red Rose Class was designed to meet the very highest standards of luxury, at the request of His Imperial and Royal Majesty Rajino Hamengkubuwono I of the Indonesian Empire of Anagonia-Yohannes.

Type-6 Aerocargoship (1931) - US$ 60 000 000
A small cargo airship designed for rapid, long distance transportation of passengers and high-value goods.

Type-5 Aerocargoship (1927) (image) - US$ 100 000 000
Created using the D-Class hull, the Type 5 was designed for large bulk cargo carrying. It was slow and unwieldy, but it had a good safety record and was economical.

Military Airships

Capital Airships

Machai Class Aerobattleship (2011) - US$ 280 000 000
Named after the daemons of battle and combat, the Machai Class Aerobattleship is designed for counter-insurgency operations, being highly manoeuvrable and armoured. It is a cheap yet effective platform to provide aerial fire support and reconnaissance.

Lelantos Class Aerocarrier (2009) - US$ 2 400 000 000
The Lelantos Class Aerocarrier replaces older, outdated large aerocarriers in Prevanian service. The Class makes use of twenty-first century technology to allow it to carry modern aircraft and remain competitive in the face of stern challenges.

Ananke Class Aerobattlecruiser (2007) - US$ 2 800 000 000
The Ananke Class Aerobattlecruiser is designed to combat modern airships, having a large arsenal and very comprehensive ECM suite. It is intended for large fleet actions, where it can enhance the effectiveness of the entire airfleet. It is also designed to be able to act as a flag airship.

Aegaeon Class Aerocruiser (2001) - US$ 1 200 000 000
The Aegaeon Class Aerocruiser, the lead airship of which was commissioned in 2001, is designed for long-range independent operations, with an emphasis on anti-ship capabilities. It is a world-leader in trade defense and disruption, making it ideal for protecting your logistics, whilst denying the enemy his own.

O Class Aerocarrier (1954) - US$ 1 200 000 000
The O Class Aerocarrier was designed for Morrdh by the Guild of Prevanian Airship Manufacturers, though also adopted by the Air Fleet. Operating up to 24 high-performance propeller aeroplanes, this heavy and unwieldy airship was necessarily amongst the fastest military airships in existence.

L Class Aerobattlecruiser (1937) - US$ 172 000 000
By the early 1930s, the D and F Classes were beginning to become obsolete, so a programme was initiated to design replacements for these: namely an aerodreadnought and an aerobattlecruiser. The L Class was the aerobattlecruiser; designed for fighting other airships, it was fast, manoeuvrable and heavily armed. However, it was lightly armoured and had a relatively small fuel capacity, resulting in a short range.

K Class Aerodreadnought (1936) - US$ 130 000 000
By the early 1930s, the D and F Classes were beginning to become obsolete, so a programme was initiated to design replacements for these: namely an aerodreadnought and an aerobattlecruiser. The K Class was designed for major fleet operations, with emphasis on the air-to-ground role. It proved to be very much more successful than the D Class it replaced, having a vastly higher speed and reliability. It was also far more manoeuvrable, having large control surfaces. As a result of this, the weapons payload was reduced, though more powerful weaponry meant that this did not hinder the K Class’ performance.

J Class Aerocruiser (1934) - US$ 60 000 000
Designed to improve the Airfleet’s naval combat and anti-aeroplane abilities, the J Class was a highly successful design, filling a niche between the smaller escort vessels and the larger capital ships. As an aerocruiser, it was optimised for long-range independent operations. It was also the first class of Prevanian airships to incorporate radar and mechanical computers for fire control.

F Class Aerobattlecruiser (1926) (image) - US$ 150 000 000
The first being launched in 1926, the F Class learnt from the mistakes of the D Class to produce a successful, enduring and popular design.

D Class Aerodreadnought (1922) (image) - US$ 120 000 000
Created mainly as a political symbol of Prevanian airship superiority, the D Class was the largest airship of its day.

Escort Airships

Soter Class Aerofrigate (2007) - US$ 360 000 000
The Soter Class Aerofrigate is designed for fleet actions, protecting larger airships from aerial threats. Specifically, it is intended to escort aerocruisers and aerobattlecruisers, with high speed and munitions capacity.

Sarpedon Class Aerofrigate (2006) - US$ 620 000 000
The Sarpedon Class Aerofrigate is designed for fleet actions, protecting larger airships from aerial threats. Specifically, it is intended to escort the Lelantos Class Aerocarrier, with high altitude and high speed.

Scylla Class Aerocorvette (2002) - US$ 280 000 000
Launched in 2002, the Scylla Class Aerocorvette represents the very best in anti-submarine warfare, thoroughly equipped to deal with all sub-surface threats.

I Class Aerofrigate (1931) - US$ 30 000 000
Designed in the late 1920s as a response to the ever increasing threat of aeroplanes, the I Class was an emergency measure designed to strengthen the anti-aircraft defences of the Airfleet. Despite this, the I Class was a long-lived design, with many upgrades allowing it to remain in service for many decades.

G Class Aerodestroyer (1926) (image) - US$ 40 000 000
Designed in the early 1920s, the G Class, less prestigious than the great capital airships, was beset with problems. Budgetary concerns proved the worst, but these were resolved by the mid 1920s, which allowed the launch of G1 in December 1926. Produced in large numbers, the G Class was functional and enduring. However, it always suffered from many faults due to the budgetary restraints.

E Class Blimp (1923) (image) - US$ 25 000 000
Designed for reconnaissance duties, the E Class was a well-liked and enduring design.

Reconnaissance Airships

Orithyia Class Mesolite (2008) - US$ 170 000 000
First launched in 2008, the Orithyia Class represents the very best in radar-equipped mesolites (very high altitude airships). Indeed, so effective has it been that the Prevanian Combined Fleets have placed orders for very many. Its range and resolution is state-of-the-art.

Aeolis Class Mesolite (2004) - US$ 40 000 000
An excellent design, the Aeolis is a small yet capable unmanned mesolite able to provide effective intelligence.

H Class Aerocarrier (1928) (image) - US$ 90 000 000
Very much a prototype class, designed to demonstrate the viability of Aerocarriers, the H1 and H2 proved so successful in the fleet scouting role that the class was extended by another 8.

Support Airships

Polemarchus Class Aeroplane Refueller Airship (2010) - US$ 300 000 000
Designed in 2010 to meet a request from The United Kingdom of Raludcia, the Polemarchus is a medium sized airship designed to meet the needs of aerial refuelling of aeroplanes or airships.

Domestic Production Licenses

Domestic Production Licenses are available for all our products at a typical cost (open to negotiation) of:
15 times the cost of one capital airship
50 times the cost of one escort airship
70 times the cost of a civilian airship
50 times the cost of one support airship.

DPLs only apply to the purchaser; they cannot be sold on to a third party. In addition, airships produced under DPLs may not be sold on to third parties, except with the explicit consent of the issuer of the DPL.

Limited DPLs, covering the replacement of airships lost in action and the building of spare parts, are available for no extra cost as standard.

Internal Distribution Licenses

International Distribution Licences enable the licensee to sell a particular Guild design within that nation and that nation alone. Such licences are more unusual, and can be negotiated on an individual basis. However, the typical request is about 50% of profits and 30 times the cost of one airship.

Dear Sir,

I presume that you are referring to the Type 5 Aerocargoship. This is an excellent design, and we are sure you will be satisfied. They cost 75 Mnai (75 000 Prevaks or about US$ 142 500) each. We will send the required quantity upon receipt of the money.

However, if it is not the Type-5 that you want, we could, of couse, modify either the E or F Class airships to serve as Aerocargoships - the E Class derivative being small but with a long range for its size and the F Class derivative being both large, fast and manoeverable.

We thank you for your custom,

The Guild of Prevanian Airship Manufacturers

(OOC: these prices are at the time of first manufacture (1927 for the Type-5). Please multiply by 12 to give current prices (January 2009)

Dear Sir,

I thank you for your interest in our superior airships. The Type 5 Aerocargoship is indeed a most excellent design and I am sure you will be most satisfied. They are great value for money at 75 Mnai (75 000 Prevaks or about US$ 138 500). Thus, the twenty you desire will cost 1.5 Talents (1 500 000 Prevaks or about US$ 2 756 000). We will send your purchases upon receipt of the money.

We thank you for your custom,

The Guild of Prevanian Airship Manufacturers

Type-5 Aerocargoship

Created using the D-Class hull, the Type 5 was designed for large bulk cargo carrying. It was slow and unwieldy, but it had a good safety record and was economical.

Image

Type: Aerocargoship
Commissioning: 1926 - 1937
Length: 394 m
Diameter: 41 m
Height: 50 m
Propulsion: 8 x 400 kW diesel engines
Lifting Gas: Helium
Lifting Gas Volume: 510 000 m3
Empty Weight: 448 tons
Normal Weight: 550 tons
Maximum Take-Off Weight: 638 tons
Fuel Weight: 20 tons
Normal Payload: 102 tons
Maximum Payload: 190 tons
Ferry Range: 3500 km
Operational Ceiling/Altitude: 1 500 m
Maximum Altitude: 2 500 m
Cruising Speed: 21 km/h
Maximum Speed: 27 km/h
Turning Circle (radius): 5 km
Crew: 3 Officers, 2 Pilots, 8 Crew
Cost: 75 Mnai (75 000 Prevaks or about US$ 142 500)

The Type 5 airship was designed with improved economy and safety in mind. More powerful engines were mounted, alongside more effective condensers to recover weight from the exhausts.

Typically 102 tonnes of cargo could be carried in 125 cubic metres of cargo hold, secured with thick cabling. The hold was in the central part of the keel, as were the fuel bunkers and food storage.

The front gondola was mainly for controlling the airship - the bridge was mounted here, as was much of the accommodation. The wireless office was also in this area.

The rear gondola was designed for propulsion ans steering. Both the engines and control surfaces were controlled from here, linked by telephone, voice pipe and telegraph to the front gondola. The engineer and his assistants had their accomodation here.

The airship was kept in trim with the aid of many 10 cubic metre ballast tanks dotted around the hull. There were two main ballast tanks, each capable of holding up to 100 tonnes of water, fore and aft. The ballast itself was a mixtire of water and an anti-freeze, typically glycol.

In the event of an emergency, there were controls fore and aft which would have jetissoned all the ballast, all the fuel or all the cargo. There were also 45 parachutes fitted, 15 in each gondola, in the event of an emergency. If a fire broke out on board, the crew could use carbon dioxide or water fire extinguishers. There was also the option to attach hosepipes to the ballast, to use the water for fire-fighting.

The Government of Raludcia would like to buy 10 of these aircraft for internal Transport Duties. We trust that the total amount is $1,420,000. The funds will be wired upon arrival of the airships at Kesseldorf Airport.

Dear Sir,

The airships are en-route. We will hand them over to you upon receipt of the funds. (Please note that US$ 1 420 000 is the price in 1927; if modern tech, please multiply by 12 to give US$ 17.04 million adjusted for inflation).

With thanks,
