Re: National Standards Questionaire

Postby Louis Van Boxel Woolf » Thu Jun 25, 2009 1:26 pm

1. The legal drinking age is at age 17 (4 years before adulthood).

2. The legal driving age is at adulthood.

3. Sexual Consent can be given at age 15 (6 years before adulthood), those under 15 cannot have sexual intercourse. Although there is no law against it most women wait around the age of 23 - 27 to conceive a child, despite no law saying they can't become pregnant at 15.

4. The Voting Age is 16 (5 years before adulthood).

5. In the eyes of the law, a child is only legally free from parental control (adulthood) at age 21.

6. All recreational drugs ARE LEGAL, but certain age restrictions are brought upon them, types of drugs are broken into 3 categories, A, B, and C, these categories are based on morals of taking the drug, how likely you are to become addicted to drug and how much harm the drug does to you. Category C means you must be 16+ to take the drug (5 years before adulthood), Category B means you must be 19+ to take the drug (2 years before adulthood), Category A means you must be an adult to take the drug (adulthood is at 21).

Pot - Legal in most public places, however any owner of a business or public facility reserves the right to tell customers or users to not smoke Pot, they do this by placing clear signs (examples when the state or the owner may choose to implement this right is at a children's playground, hospital etc.. It is a Category B.

Tobacco - Legal in most public places, however any owner of a business or public facility reserves the right the right to tell customers or users to not smoke or use Tobacco products, they do this by placing clear signs (examples when the state or owner may choose to implement this right is at a children's playground, hospital etc.). It is a Category C.

Cocaine - Legal in no Public Places, can only be consumed in the privacy of your own home, all Cocaine dealers or sellers must have a licence which can be obtained by the government, this licence certifies they have not been arrested by the Police before, they pay their Cocaine farmers a fair wage and do not tamper or cut their Cocaine with chemicals. Cocaine is taxed heavily, it is a Category A. If a crime is committed while under the influence of Cocaine, it will make no difference in the outcome of the case, anyone caught using Cocaine in public 1st time faces a 400 proudster penalty, 2nd time 800 proudster penalty, 3 rd time 1,600 proudster, 4th time 3,200 proudster penalty... and so on and on until you each the figure of 64,000 proudsters after that they face a penalty of up to 7 years in a State Rehab Centre and may lose the privilege of being able to take Cocaine.

Alcohol - Legal in all Public Places, the owner of the business or Public Facility DOES NOT have the right to ban Alcohol on their place. The ONLY TWO PUBLIC PLACES where Alcohol is ILLEGAL is on the vast Transport Network and Hospitals. The Penalty for consuming Alcohol in THE ONLY TWO PUBLIC PLACES WHERE ALCOHOL IS BANNED, is 1st time a 400 proudster penalty, 2nd time 800 proudster penalty, 3rd time 1,600 poudster penalty, 4th time 3,200 proudster penalty, and so and on until you reach the figure of 64,000 proudsters were they face a maximum Prision Sentence of 2 years and they may lose the privilege to drink Alcohol. It is a Category B.

LSD - Legal in designated "LSD Zones," these "Zones," are dotted around the country. The penalty for taking LSD in a public place is an immediate loss of the privilege to take LSD and any fine amount of up to 20,000 proudsters. It is a Category B.

Caffeine - No current laws regulate or say how and where caffeine should be used. It has no given Category (as this Category is law). Caffeine is also not taxed in any way.

Heroin - Illegal in all public places, can only be consumed in the privacy of your own home. Due to fear about the growing number of companies cutting dangerous chemicals with the powder, Heroin is only supplied by the state for free, but the number of doses is limited. But you must pass a test given to you by psycchologists to see wether or not you will severly abuse Heroin or only use it for the purposes of sucuide. If used in a public place, you are likely to be given 10+ years in a state funded Rehab Centre, in extreme circumstances you may be given Community Service (scrubbing of Grafitti, being a dustbin man etc. while working for nothing) or small Prision sentence. Assuming you pass the test, Heroin is a Category A.

7. All other recreational drugs are legal but various government campaigns are in place to discourage the use of drugs.

8. All Guns are Illegal, only the Millitray can use them, maximum sentence for possesing a firearm is 22 years, and for murder carries a sentence of 40 years - Life sentence, in some cases you may be excused from serving a sentence or have a greatly reduced one if you were threatened to posses it by gangsters, or for any other reason.

9. The formal name for Louis Van Boxel Woolf is The Republic of Louis Van Boxel Woolf, it's offical language is Loosterian English.

10. The Speed Limits for C - Roads (Small Muddy track ways or single lane roads that are rarely used and connect small villages) is 20 m.p.h. The Speed Limits for B - Roads (2 - 4 lane roads that are used in cities and are of a fairly short length) is 30 m.p.h. The Speed Limits for A - Roads (Large Roads that connect the suburbs of a city and the surrounding countryside to the B - Roads, which go to the centre of a city or town, they have 5 - 10 lanes) is 75 m.p.h. The Speed Limits of the Motorway (11 - 25 lane massive roads that connect one end of the country to the other and lead to the A - Roads and C - Roads) are unlimited, though if you commit a roadside crime (crash etc.) if you are travelling over 155 m.p.h the penalty or prision sentence will be vastly increased.

11. All Non Extremist Religions are allowed, and the RRC (Religion Regulator Comitte) take complaints from citizens who deem one religion "extremist," they then investigate them, or if they believe terrorism is involved they hand these over to the Police.

12. Pornography IS LEGAL and considered a perfectly normal, fun entertainment, images/video of those being raped or under 15 are not permitted by law. Pornography CANNOT be accesed via the internet and must be brought via a local convenience store or a newsagent. All internet pornography sights ARE BANNED this is because it will be almost impossible for images of rape and children under 15 to appear without being noticed.

13. Prostitution IS LEGAL and considered a perfectly normal, fun entertainment. To become A LEGAL prostitute you must be 21 or over (adulthood). You can only operate in a Prostitute Centre, these are equipped with police to stop illegal drug taking, or violence towards the prostitutes AND make sure a condom is used at all times and to MAKE SURE that ONLY the Prostitute benefits from her/his profit, prostitution cannot be "branded," or run as a corporation.

14. Homosexuality is perfectly legal, no regulation, laws, nothing! (See Gay Marriage).

15. Stem Cell research was once used, but now made illegal as scientists in Louis Van Boxel Woolf discovered it had no Scientific benefit what so ever. It is know often debated in history classes.

17. Unisex bathrooms are often used, as well as separate men and woman bathrooms.

18. Hunting is allowed except for several species of endangered creatures. Wether or not species should be protected is determined by the Minister of the Environment, Benjamin Flatley. The Maximum sentence for killing an endangered species is a flat penalty of 2,000 proudsters, if you earn more than 105,000 proudsters however, and you are caught doing this, 10% of your wage is given to the state for the rest of your life.

19. The majority of the population are meat eaters with just around 6% being vegetarians, there are no, laws, rules or regulations covering on what diet you should have.

20. Gay marriage takes place as commonly as supposedly "normal," marriage, with it being socially acceptable and perfectly legal, any intimadation or discrimination bought against someone for Race, Sexual Prefrence or Religion is punished harshly, if a complaint is recived by the police.

21. Income Tax is 6% - 55% depending on how much you earn.

22. Sales Tax is 10%.

23. Import/Export tax or tariffs were abolished long ago in Louis Van Boxel by the Prime Minister.

24. The Government has no legal power to censor any newspapers/broad casted media (including Radio). The TV network is managed by LBC (Louis Broadcasting Corporation) which has no adverts, as it is funded by the tax payer, yet the taxpayers money is given to a private company, so the government has no say in what goes on LBC'S Website, LBC'S NEWS WEBSITE or anything LBC! Postby Korintar » Thu Jun 25, 2009 7:02 pm

1 - What is the legal drinking age? 21, or whenever the religious communities permit their youth to partake in rituals involving such substances.

2 - Driving age? Only applicable to rural Korintar, age 14 to 16 is the accepted norm.

3 - Age of sexual consent? 15, presuming partner does not exceed three years older. 21 for full consent, legal adulthood.

4 - Voting age? 21, but individuals as young as 16 vote in local elections.

5 - At what age would someone become an adult (free from parental control)? - 21, may be sooner if an individual completes military service early with parental consent.

6 - What types of recreational drugs (if any) are legal? - Alcohol and medicinal marijuana primarily, however other drugs may be prescribed by a doctor (such as heroin, et al), but said doctor could be banned from the National Healthcare League- the main medical association, for such practices. Tobacco is illegal. Caffeine is the most popular, however, as soda fountains are more common than bars in most places.

7 - Can people have guns? Some people may own them, provided that they go through the proper background checks. Private citizens are forbidden from owning an assault rifle, which is fine for most Korintaris as they prefer swords. Generally the joke is that any man that feels the need to arm himself with an assault rifle is overcompensating for a very small organ

8 - What is the official full name of your country? What is the informal name? What are people of your nation called Formal: The Free Democracy of Korintar// Informal: Korintar / Citizens: Korintari

9 - Do you have the death penalty? Yes, nitrogen asphyxiation

10 - What is the speed limit? As long as nobody gets hurt and environmental damage is restricted it does not matter how fast one is going.

11 - What types of religions would are permitted or restricted? All are permitted, local government is not necessarily secular, and as such segregation by faith happens on occasion in the rural regions.

Which of the following are be legal:

12- Porn - images of pediphillia & rape are illegal

13-Prostitution - Heavily regulated and taxed, banned in some communes.

14-Polygamy/ Polyandry/ Polyamory - complex marriage is common, 45% of families fall under this category.

15-Homosexuality - While not illegal, homosexuals are sometimes treated differently by some communities, most secular communities- including the three capitals, do not discriminate institutionally or otherwise.

16-Stem cell research - General concensus is to allow it, highly developed .

17-Human Cloning - More controversial, but therapeutic cloning is allowed.

18-Cock Fighting? like many of the above issues, popular sovereignty and regionalism create the best solutions.

19-Slavery? - banned.

20-Hunting? Very popular

21-Fishing - see above

22-Eating meat? Carnivores R Us. Veganism is highly unpopular.

23-Littering? Can be fined

24-Unisex bathrooms ? permitted, especially in hospital settings.

25-Euthanasia- legal, usually DNRs are more commonplace.

26 - Gay marriage? - No (civil) laws against it, but no laws protecting it either

27-Abortion - Happens Very, Very Rarely, mostly for medical/ therapeutic reasons. But most medical problems can be dealt with by Korintar's highly advanced medical technology.

28- What types of sexual activity (if any) are illegal ? Rape and pediophilia the Death Penalty. What consenting adults do is their own business (national). Sodomy can result in ostracism /exile (local).

29-Is your country's/culture clothing optional or mandatory? No shirt, no shoes, no pants= no service in many places... again, there are colonies/communes for nudists, gays, conservative christians, and free market wackjobs, among others.

30-Do you have obscenity laws? If so - how would you define "obscene". - You must be thinking of Korintar's northern neighbor on a few of these issues.

31-What system do you have for taxes?
- Income tax? Progressive, noncitizens or non commune members pay no taxes at all, former, or at least at the local level, latter. However tax exempt persons must pay user fees for government services.

31aSales tax? In some places, yes.

31bImport/Export tax? Varies on the product and where it is going to or coming from, especially high during war time.

32-What is the criterion for someone to pass to become a citizen? You must perform Federal Service and, if not native born, reside in Korintar for five years and be employed to gain citizenship. Must also maintain a spotless criminal record.

33-What types of people do you allow (or not allow) into your country? Any, except for fascists and corporatists. Anyone found in violation of the law will get deported if they are not a citizen.

34-What type of government are you? Socialist Democracy

35-To what degree is your government allowed to censor or restrict the media? Only restriction is that news agencies must be run by nonprofit organizations on separate stations/channels from entertainment.

36-Aside from laws - what sort of unofficial (and unenforced) cultural rules and traditions do you have? For example – Varies. Concensus is a valued trait and long work days are common place. Mid afternoon work breaks are common place in the south. Walking is a more common mode of transportation in the cities than anything else. Religious and revolutionary socialist jargon are blended in greetings between people ex) "May the Lord bless you and our glorious Revolution" or "Comrade, be at peace with God".

The Land of Abdju:

1 - What is the legal drinking age? No legislated age. However other restrictions apply.

2 - Driving age? 18 for a 4 wheel vehicle up to 45kw power or 90km/h max speed, 2/3 wheeled vehicle up to 50km/h or pedal vehicle. 21 for 4 wheel vehicle over 45kw or 90 km/h, 2/3 wheeled vehicle over 50 km/h. Bicycle users also have to have a test and licence in Abdju.

3 - Age of sexual consent? Generally 18, though in legal cases it's handled on a case by case basis. Note it's possible (and common) for people to move in with their partners before this age, with parental consent. Many lower class Abdjuns start their family life at 15 or 16. Only the elite, whose children are educated for much longer start their adult lives later.

4 - Voting age? Abdju doesn't have any elections.

5 - At what age would someone become an adult (free from parental control)? Generally, 18.

6 - What types of recreational drugs (if any) are legal?

- Pot Available but very expensive.

- Tobacco Very illegal to import or sell, but personal possession isn't a crime per se. Essentially unknown.

- Cocaine Very illegal to import or sell, but personal possession isn't a crime per se. Essentially unknown.

-Alcohol Legal and widely available as beer and wine. Spirits are all but unknown.

- LSD - Very illegal to import or sell, but personal possession isn't a crime per se. Essentially unknown.

- Caffeine - Available but very expensive.

- Heroin - Illegal.

- Other? Qat is available but very expensive.

7 - Can people have guns? For the overwhelming majority of people, no.

8 - What is the official full name of your country? What is the informal name? What are people of your nation called Formal: The Land of Abdju Informal: Abdju Citizens: Abdjuans

9 - Do you have the death penalty? Yes

10 - What is the speed limit? 90 km/h, which is an optimistic physical possibility on most Abdjuan roads. Roads are mostly narrow , gravel or cobbled roads running over earth embankments.

11 - What types of religions would are permitted or restricted? Traditional religion (Egyptian polytheistic) is the state religion and is encouraged and generously funded. Other religions are tolerated.

Which of the following are be legal:

12- Porn - Not widely available as state controls the media. However making porn for ones own amusement is legal.

13-Prostitution - Taxed.

14-Polygamy/ Polyandry/ Polyamory - Marriage is not governed by law. It is up to individuals to sort out their own domestic arrangements and ensure legal contracts are drawn up where necessary. However custom and tradition make all three effectively illegal except for the Royal Family, who practice polygamy.

15-Homosexuality - Taboo but as above, personal relationships aren't a state issue.

16-Stem cell research - Medical research involving stem cells receives government support, though the possibilities of nanotech in medical care is considered more interesting.

17-Human Cloning - Is not pursued at present by state R&D, and Abdju has no private R&D.

18-Cock Fighting? - Is not practised in Abdju. There is no cultural tradition of it.

19-Slavery? - Penal slavery is used. Otherwise not practised.

20-Hunting? Popular amongst Royalty, high officials and nobles.

21-Fishing - Less popular.

22-Eating meat? Yes, though the amount and frequency depends on status. Higher statues = more meat.

23-Littering? Laws exist, particularly concerning waterways and fields.

24-Unisex bathrooms ? Most homes only have one bathroom.

25-Suicide? - Taboo.

26 - Gay marriage? - See earlier comments on marriage.

27-Abortion - Rare. Abdjuans tend to prefer prevention to cure.

28- What types of sexual activity (if any) are illegal ? Nothing except rape. Sex with children is one of the shadowy grey areas of Abdjuan culture that is rather dubious. No one talks about it but everyone knows about it.

29-Is your country's/culture clothing optional or mandatory? Mandatory for the most part. No legal requirements but custom and tradition disagrees with adults walking around naked.

30-Do you have obscenity laws? If so - how would you define "obscene". Overt displays of foreign cultures are generally considered to be obscene, insulting or just plain wrong. Laws are not necessary as the state controls most media and strongly and exclusively promotes Abdjuan culture, whilst putting down others.

31-What system do you have for taxes?
- Income tax? Variable rate. Some institutions or individuals can exempted upon Royal command. State pensions are exempted. The immediate Royal family pays no tax.

31aSales tax? No, as most major transactions involve the state as one of the parties.

31bImport/Export tax? Yes. All goods incur a variable rate tax.

32-What is the criterion for someone to pass to become a citizen? Abdju has subjects rather than citizenship. Everyone born to an Abdjuan family is a subject and anyone permitted residence in the country who has renounced citizenship of another nation is considered a subject, though still a foreigner, unless they choose to adopt Abdjuan culture (recommended, given the level of xenephobia).

33-What types of people do you allow (or not allow) into your country? Varies depending on the internal situation. Criminals are extradited quickly, and mass migration is strongly discouraged. Few foreigners settle in Abdju compared to most nations.

34-What type of government are you? Absolute Monarchy.

35-To what degree is your government allowed to censor or restrict the media? All media belongs to the state and could be regarded as "propagandistic".

36-Aside from laws - what sort of unofficial (and unenforced) cultural rules and traditions do you have? For example

* Fish is considered unclean, though the lower classes eat it.
* Incest is generally seen as undesirable amongst the general population.
* Personal and family privacy is valued and respected.
* Charitable acts are extremely important and a central feature of social relations.

Edited because I wrote this late at night, and next morning was full of language/spelling/grammar errors.

1 - What is the legal drinking age? Kids may not drink wine or beer but choose to anyway. We don't have the strictest police force or any.

2 - Driving age? We don't have any cars.

3 - Age of sexual consent? Like the drinking age, kids choose to have sex when ever they want. Protected or not. They think sex is gross though.

4 - Voting age? We don't have a government. The self proclaimed president, John Henry Eden, is a descendant of the old Enclave.

5 - At what age would someone become an adult (free from parental control)? - According to little lamplight, 16.

6 - What types of recreational drugs (if any) are legal? - Any. The most famous one is jet.

7 - Can people have guns? Everyone has some type of weapon. Gun. Knife. Fat Man. You name it. How else will they survive in the wasteland.

8 - What is the official full name of your country? The Free Land of The Capital Wasteland. Soon to be changed to The Post Apocalypes of the Capital Wasteland.

9 - Do you have the death penalty? Yes

10 - What is the speed limit? We don't have cars.

11 - What types of religions would are permitted or restricted? All are permitted. They are usually all cults worshipping a bomb, tree, or glowing ghoul.

12- Porn - All are legel.

13-Prostitution - Its popular in Megaton but Tennpenny probably wouldn't one in his hotel.

14-Polygamy/ Polyandry/ Polyamory - Legal

15-Homosexuality - Legal

16-Stem cell research - Scientists and doctors are far too busy to care for something we found out two hundred years ago.

17-Human Cloning - We don't have clones, just androids.

18-Cock Fighting? Chickens have gone extinct, now we have deathclaw fighting!

19-Slavery? - There is a lot of it, but most people dislike it. Slavers are just too powerful to be taken down.

20-Hunting? Legal. We hunt all sorts of things. Mole rats. Brahmin. Radscorpions.

21-Fishing - I'm pretty sure all the fish died in the irratited waters, and mirelurks taste like shit.

22-Eating meat? Besides Nuka-Cola, there isn't anything else.

23-Littering? I saw a pile of garbage outside of Megaton the other day.

24-Unisex bathrooms ? Legal, but there are mostly bathrooms for the same sex.

25-Suicide? - Legal and rare. There are a lot of suicidal slaves and Rivet City settlers.

26 - Gay marriage? - There are about three married couples. Gay marriage is legal but no one cares enough to get married.

27-Abortion - We mostly feed the babies to the yao gauis if we don't want them.

28- What types of sexual activity (if any) are illegal ? None are illegal, but people like the brotherhood or regulators will not stand for it.

29-Is your country's/culture clothing optional or mandatory? People dress in wasteland outfits mostly. Ruined sweat jackets, usually brown or tan. Raiders dress in bones of their kill and parts of stuff like motorcycles. The brotherhood and enclave wear full body power armor suits. Mercenarys are seen to wear mostly police armor or jean vests. Scientists and doctors wear jumpsuits and lab coats. The more richer people wear pre-war clothing.

30-Do you have obscenity laws? No. We don't have laws. I think a few raiders or those oasis hippies run around naked.

31-What system do you have for taxes? Merchants are allowed to give as much tax as they want.

31aSales tax? no.

31bImport/Export tax? nope.

32-What is the criterion for someone to pass to become a citizen? Bring a gun.

33-What types of people do you allow (or not allow) into your country? We allow anyone. Slavers. Raiders. Super Mutants.

34-What type of government are you? People can make up any government they want for their own city. John Henry Eden seems more like a dictator than a president.

35-To what degree is your government allowed to censor or restrict the media? I wished we still had media.

36-Aside from laws - what sort of unofficial (and unenforced) cultural rules and traditions do you have? None really. People choose what traditions their settlement have.

1 - What is the legal drinking age? Based on the ability to lift a tankard or parent's consent.

2 - Driving age? N/A, fleet based. Pilots are trained under grueling regimens due to the importance of ships.

3 - Age of sexual consent? Based on ability and interest in doing so. Due to limited space, procreation much more regulated. Potential parents must undertake mental, fiscal, and genetic tests to ensure that they will not bear burdened children.

4 - Voting age? Voting, as such, is not generally used in major civil or political disputes. Basically, what the bigger group of people want goes a lot of the time. If your voice doesn't crack when you speak, you have a say on most ships, though this does vary.

5 - At what age would someone become an adult (free from parental control)? Parents descision if the child is able to support themselves, children's choice otherwise.

6 - What types of recreational drugs (if any) are legal? Any, though mind or bodily function affecting drugs are prohibited when on duty. None of the below drugs are burned or smoked. For instance, cannabis is generally eaten, tabacco dipped.

-Pot - legal and popular, though not when on duty. When piloting, thirty lashes.

- Tobacco - Unpopular due the the effects on teeth and breath.

- Cocaine - Unpopular and virtually unknown with almost every group in the fleet. When piloting, summary execution by space casting (the act of throwing an unshielded body into open space. Most believe the casted's soul will feel the pain of decompression for eternity.).

-Alcohol - legal, moderately popular in weaker forms such as beer, more so in liqours.

- LSD - legal, but like cocaine, virtually unknown for the same reasons. When piloting, punishment same as cocaine.

- Caffeine - legal and popular where it can be found, though stores of recaff, coffee, soft drinks containing are usually passed over in favor of higher value commodities.

- Heroin - Same as cocaine. Highly unpopular.

- Other? Many - legal, how popular varies and some are illegal - mostly heavily taxed and but generaly not done in public, and operating under the influence is a heavily punished crime. Hard time

7 - Can people have guns? Disputation of this right usually results in violent firefights.

8 - What is the official full name of your country? What is the informal name? What are people of your nation called? Formal: The Grand Warfleet of Prometheus V/ Informal: The Fleet. / Citizens: Prometheans.

9 - Do you have the death penalty? Yes.

10 - What is the speed limit? No roads.

11 - What types of religions would are permitted or restricted? All are permitted, though religious conflict is restricted to intelligent debate. Any attempt to sabotage a ship or crew for religious reasons is punishable by removal from the fleet and 'marooning' landside. (It should be noted that there has never been a case of actual marooning, this punishment is carried out by taking the perpatrator to an inhabited area and leaving them there.)

Which of the following are be legal: ALL Are Legal

12- Porn - Totally unregulated in any fashion by the government. Common and socially acceptable in most forms.

13-Prostitution - Legal, though unprofitable due to social promiscuity.

14-Polygamy/ Polyandry/ Polyamory - Marriage is relatively uncommon, since the close qarters of fleet life remove many inhibitions. Marriage in it's traditional form is purely a social institution, recieving no fiscal benefits.

15-Homosexuality - A difficult question in a warrior society, it is legal. It certainly takes place, though generally it is kept under wraps. Most people find it unacceptable behaviour in grown men or women, but that is all.

16-Stem cell research - They leave that to landsiders, usually.

17-Human Cloning - Impossible due to technological constraints, pointless because of high thrall population.

18-Animal Fighting? Animal fighting is a popular form of entertainment, though use of animal weaponry such as artificial talons or gaffs is highly illegal.

19-Slavery? - Widespread and legal. Laws do not protect slaves beyond basic human rights. Slaves may be freed at their owners discretion or on merit by a more senior lord. A thrall who frees themself of their bonds, such as removing collars or other marks of enslavement, are given an appeal. If they are found to be mentally and physically capable of joining the fleet as a free member, they may do so, or request being put ashore.

20-Hunting? Very popular when landside, though this is relatively rare. Hunting of vermin extremely popular amongst the younger population. Vermin include rodents and small animals of every kind, as well as several large bugs that arrived from ships that went landside then docked with another. Methods include everything from traps to cudgels.

21-Fishing - See above, even less common.

22-Eating meat? Who wouldn't? Food is food. Vegetarians or vegans of any sort are almost unheard of in the fleet.

23-Littering? Difficult to do in a fleet based society. Everything is recycled a thousand times if it can be, or compacted and destroyed if it cannot.

24-Unisex bathrooms? Restrooms do not differentiate between sexes in any part of the fleet that is known.

25-Suicide? - Very rare, though not unknown. Most who exhibit suicidal or harmful tendencies are taken planet side for examination and treatment before this becomes an issue.

26 - Gay marriage? - Rare due to low homosexuality rates, though not unheard of.

27-Abortion - Proportionately low, usually done when the mother is found to have a profound genetic defect or when carrying the child will harm the mother. It is proportionately low because very few couples will fail to practice safe sex if they are not permitted or are not fiscally capable of supporting the baby.

28- What types of sexual activity (if any) are illegal? Only rape and pedophilia are not permitted in the general populace, though the laws governing these things do not apply to slaves of any age. Pedophilia is generally not a problem, since most people will not keep child slaves, as they are not useful. Children who are young enough are usually raised in Promethean society. On the other hand, children who are too old to be assimilated are supposedly old enough to be useful, so they are enslaved, or at least indentured.

29-Is your country's/culture clothing optional or mandatory? Nudity from the waist up is common, but waist down almost unheard of. This applies to both sexes, though women are more commonly seen with brassiere's than not, if they do go topless.

30-Do you have obscenity laws? If so - how would you define "obscene". - In general, obscenity isn't something to be worried about. Since the stigma's regarding nudity are only lax about going topless, walking around in public without pants on is liable to get you a dressing down, so to speak, but not much else. Other than that, sex in public is about all you can do, though punishment for that is only marginally more serious.

31-What system do you have for taxes? Currency in the fleet is based on salvage and barter materials, with troops adding parts of their loot to the community pool, which in turn is either used to repair and refit the ship, or traded to other ships for material or services. Quite often, salvage will be turned into the ship's Hold, a sort of commisary/storage garage. In return, they recieve vouchers that can be used to barter in much the same way as checks. Person A gives Person B a voucher for so many objects or a certain weight in some material, and Person B either resells the voucher for something better, uses the material, or sits on it until he can use it.
The fleet also operates on a system of debts and favors, as well as barter. For instance, Person A helps Person B with something Person B needs, and in return, Person B will return the favor. If Person A and B disagree on the repayment, they take it before an impartial commander who settles the issue as he sees fit.

32-What is the criterion for someone to pass to become a citizen? Every free person in the fleet is a 'citizen', and you stop becoming a citizen when you leave the fleet, however you do so. There is no difference, lawfully, from a freeborn or a liberated slave.

33-What types of people do you allow (or not allow) into your country? Anyone who's willing to carry a gun or pilot a ship to aid our cause, without trying to start a schism in the fleet. That's how it got started. Now, every Promethean aboard ship is the last of their kind, and they're more lenient with who they let aboard. Pirates, thugs, warlords, bandits... anyone with a grudge against the planetary or system governments is welcomed with open arms, as soo as they sign up with a lord.

34-What type of government are you? Modified fuedal system where there is one, anarcho-communism where there isn't. More often, there isn't.

35-To what degree is your government allowed to censor or restrict the media? As much as the people let them get away with, which is very little.

36-Aside from laws - what sort of unofficial (and unenforced) cultural rules and traditions do you have? Everything above is, in general, a cultural rule or tradition, due to the lack of any official government except for the Shipmaster's and their followers.

9 - Do you have the death penalty? No except in extreme cases.

10 - What is the speed limit? Cars are illegal. Mass transit consists mostly of a high-speed maglev network with an average speed of ~300 km/h. Roads (used for pedestrians and bicycles) have a speed limit of 20 km/h in "heavily populated areas" and 35 km/h otherwise.

11 - What types of religions would are permitted or restricted? Most permitted; churches have to get a permit before opening and renew it every six years. Walruism is dominant.

Which of the following are be legal:

12- Porn - Legal, one has to get licences for viewing and/or producing though, and it has to meet "decency standards" of no rape or bestiality etc.

30-Do you have obscenity laws? Public nudity laws are unconstitutional as of Hensley v. State of Kwmran in 2006, but public sex is still very much out of the question.

31-What system do you have for taxes? High for lower-income people, even higher for higher income people.

32-What is the criterion for someone to pass to become a citizen? Born in Aedyddia or an Aedyddian embassy abroad or to Aedyddian parents or on a ship/airship/aeroplane/etc. with Aedyddian pilots or in Aedyddian airspace.
Also, to immigrate, one must live 20 months in Aedyddia and qualify for a licence.

33-What types of people do you allow (or not allow) into your country? Mostly anyone. Not war criminals and such, though.

34-What type of government are you? The economic structure is communist; this is detailed in Article IV of the Constitution. There are free elections; however, these mostly concern social and foreign, not economic, policy.

35-To what degree is your government allowed to censor or restrict the media? Censor: yes; Restrict: no... Allowed to remove obscenity, but not much else.

36-Aside from laws - what sort of unofficial (and unenforced) cultural rules and traditions do you have? Not many...

So, in closing, most things are legal, as long as you have a several licences! :)

The Government understands and normally will respect ones wishes. Must present the case to the KAPB Supreme Court. All cases will be on a case to case basis.

19- Gay marriage? - Illegal. The Government has ruled that no government, individual, organization, or the likes have the right to "Redefine the word of Marriage on Demand" The Definition of Marriage is clearly defined as "the social institution under which a man and woman establish their decision to live as husband and wife by legal commitments, religious ceremonies, etc." Source -> http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/marriage The Government hereby orders the Protection of Marriage Act into KAPB Law. With that being said, King Bodacious went on to say "Two people who are truly in love should have the right to form some sort of Legal Union. The Government should NOT intervene with the Loving Relationships of two consenting adults no matter what their sexual orientation is. So, I hereby grant the passage of the 'Civil Unions Act' into law giving gays, bisexuals, and lesbians the same benefits as married heterosexuals."

20-Abortion - Legal ONLY under two circumstances. a. The Mother's Life is in Jeopardy and b. in cases of Rape. All others are Illegal and if convicted of illegally having an abortion, both, the person who performed the act and the woman having the abortion will be executed under the Laws of KAPB.

23-Do you have obscenity laws? If so - how would you define "obscene". - We do, however the Law is still being constructed.

24-What system do you have for taxes? The tax code of KAPB is still being revised but it's basicly, in short will consist of Only the Income tax for individual, natural born citizens. Other Legal Citizens of KAPB will have a slightly higher Income Tax. The Income Tax will increase with increased pay (meaning the Wealthy will have higher taxes). Businesses will have the biggest Tax "burden" KAPB has outlawed Lobbyists so no favors will be given to any Corporations and All will Pay Taxes as outlined in KAPB's Tax Code.

29-What type of government are you? Primarily a Dictatorship seeing how the Supreme Leader is King Bodacious. However, we do have a few branches of government which will all be laid out in KAPB Fact Book. We, also hold elections for All of the Lower Level Government Officials. The People of KAPB deserve to be heard and we also have open communications between KAPB Citizens and the Upper Level Government and take their suggestions, concerns, complaints and the likes into strong consideration.

30-To what degree is your government allowed to censor or restrict the media? I must thank the American Media as well as other media outlets around the world. KAPB watches and censors the media strenuously for corruption, distortion, biasedness, and outright blatant lies. The Government stands firm in regards to the media. The Government will NOT tolerate misleading KAPB Citizens and have placed heavy Regulations, Taxations, Censorship, and Monitoring of the Media. The Government feels if they don't take the proper measures that the Media Outlets in KAPB will be as horrid as the American Media Outlets as well as others around the Globe.

1 - What is the legal drinking age?
The Kingdom defines the legal drinking age as an age when one is old enough to purchase alcohol, which is eighteen. However, the culture is fairly permissive about alcohol and most adolescents can be expected to have alcohol access via family purchases.

2 - Driving age?
The Kingdom has a graduated licensing system broken into three periods : Learner, which is obtained by a written test undertaken in the year of an individual's fifteenth birthday (or equivalent age in non-humans) and allows the driver to drive with a Full license holder in the vehicle. The second stage is the Restricted, which allows driving between the hours of 4am to 10pm in a vehicle with no more than 2l engine capacity. The Final stage is a Full license which allows driving at all times with no restrictions on engine capacity.

3 - Age of sexual consent?
Age of sexual consent is fifteen across the board. If you're old enough to control a tonne of metal His Majesty believes you should also have the privilege of using its back-seat.

4 - Voting age?
Voting is for foreigners.

5 - At what age would someone become an adult (free from parental control)?
Full adulthood (and thus citizenship) is granted in the year of one's eighteenth birthday.

6 - What types of recreational drugs (if any) are legal?
All of them. However, they're all equally heavily taxed and regulated more stringently. The amount of stores retailing hard drugs is roughly equivalent to the prevalence of sex shops in a modern western society and the clientele could expect to be regarded similarly.

7 - Can people have guns?
Dependent on location, citizens may own firearms. However, again, regulation and tax are used to control access to the type of firearm, shotguns and sporting rifles (being defined as a semi-automatic between .22 and .308), are more available, pistols of all types much less so.
Anything that is large enough to qualify as an anti-material rifle, capable of fully automatic fire or firing exotic ammunition (energy weapons) is banned and will be seized if brought onto Kingdom soil without prior arrangement.
However, the Kingdom also recognizes that not everywhere else is as heavily policed as it is, nor does illegal use of firearms carry quite the same stringent punishment, so the restrictions concerning firearms do not apply to those with a trading license for foreign ports.

8 - What is the official full name of your country?
The Kingdom of Britmattia, known as "the Kingdom" to its citizens. There's only one that matters to them.

9 - Do you have the death penalty?
Yes, for rape, treason, murder, piracy and slavery. Guilt is established by esper/mage examination and a refusal to allow either is tantamount to a guilty plea.

10 - What is the speed limit?
Speed limits are for girly foreigners. The highways have no speed limits, lower grade open roads are set at 100kph, shading down to 30kph depending on how built up an area is. However, private transport is quietly discouraged so most travel is done by bus, train or aircraft.

11 - What types of religions would are permitted or restricted?
Nearly all religions are permitted, provided they accept monitoring. Any religion which implies loyalty to it should be rated higher than loyalty to the state is discouraged.

Which of the following are be legal:
12- Porn
Pornography is legal, with the exceptions of furry pornography and child pornography, both of which are regarded as mental health issues.

13-Prostitution
Legal, taxed, a low-status but well-paying job.

14-Polygamy/ Polyandry/ Polyamory
Legal, not common or really socially acceptable.

15-Homosexuality
What a citizen does with his or her genitals to an other consenting citizen is no affair of CentGov's.

16-Stem cell research
Genetic manipulation is regulated and relatively common.

17-Human Cloning
Human cloning is illegal, cloning of human organs is not. Clones enjoy full citizenship to the extent one is Queen, presently.

18-Cock Fighting?
Illegal, as is dog-fighting, bull-baiting and any other blood sport where human life is not endangered.

19-Slavery?
Illegal and, as noted, punishable by death.

20-Hunting?
Common, generally undertaken with the bows that Kingdom citizens are generally given as gifts from the age of fifteen through to their full growth. Guns are used, but anyone using rifles on creatures that aren't actually dangerous is probably untrustworthy and possibly even some sort of foreigner.

21-Fishing
Common.

22-Eating meat?
Nearly univeral. Vegans and vegetarians have a tough time in a medieval-esque society.

23-Littering?
Extremely uncommon, helped by the low use of non-biodegradable/non-returnable packaging. Punishable by a stiff fine when encountered.

24-Unisex bathrooms ?
Non-existent.

25-Suicide?
Uncommon, but socially acceptable and even expected in some situations.

26 - Gay marriage?
What sacraments a given church chooses to grant is that church's business. Civil unions are available to all.

27-Abortion?
Birth control is easily available and pushed in state and private schools, lowering the necessity. However, where it does happen it is a woman's right to chose.

28- What types of sexual activity (if any) are illegal ?
See pornography, with the addendum of bestiality.

29-Is your country's/culture clothing optional or mandatory?
Optional, but climate makes it mandatory.

30-Do you have obscenity laws?
Nothing higher than an R-rating before 10pm on the airwaves, no nudity in print media.

31-What system do you have for taxes?
"Income" is a rather notional term under Kingdom law.
The average citizen pays a graduated tax, depending on their personal income, which never exceeds more than 30% of the same, to the aristocratic family of the region they live in. This source of funds is then taxed at 100% by CentGov.
Also tied to this is an additional (voluntary) tithe paid to the Family of the region, which is then used as the social welfare/(some) healthcare spending of that particular locale. Those who do not contribute to this fund are not entitled to draw from it.

31aSales tax?
Applies to everything except food, taxed at 10%.

31bImport/Export tax?
No export taxes, import taxes are applied as policy measures to discourage things CentGov wants to discourage.

32-What is the criterion for someone to pass to become a citizen?
National Service at the age of eighteen.

33-What types of people do you allow (or not allow) into your country?
Immigration is open to all, barring entities who have been classed as non-sophonts by CentGov. This category includes Allaneans, Thelasi and some others.

34-What type of government are you?
Semi-absolute monarchy.

35-To what degree is your government allowed to censor or restrict the media?
It isn't. It does however have vigorous libel laws and the right of personal challenge. If you can beat the King's champion in a sword-fight you can call the sovereign whatever you like.

36-Aside from laws - what sort of unofficial (and unenforced) cultural rules and traditions do you have?
Absolute adherence to the Monarchy, cultural chauvinism, disdain for democracies, regarding species intolerance as frankly bizarre but at the same time being distrustful of most pointies. An unlovely habit of referring to any foreigner not from an allied polity as a "wog".
Arrogance and militarism hand in hand, moderated by chivalric impulse and emphasis on being capital G good in word and deed.
A Paladin is no more sane than a man who decides that up is down, and dedicates himself to the preservation of balloons and the destruction of bricks. Nonetheless, there is no breed of man whom I would rather have beside me when the moon is black and the wolves are about. If the Paladin is wrong, then the world is mad, and in an insane world, there is no better police than an army of madmen.

1 - What is the legal drinking age? Illegal

2 - Driving age? Not based on age, but on height. As soon as the feet can reach the pedals you can drive.

3 - Age of sexual consent? Illegal. All children are created by government mandated artificial insemination.

4 - Voting age? Illegal

5 - At what age would someone become an adult (free from parental control)? - Never. All people are children of the state, and are never freed from that title.

6 - What types of recreational drugs (if any) are legal? - All recreational drugs, including Pot, Tobacco, Cocaine, Alcohol, LSD, Caffeine, and Heroin are illegal and are considered a two strike crime (after being caught using it twice, punishment is permanent relocation to forced labor camp).

7 - Can people have guns? Only law enforcement officers may be armed with assault weapons, and plain clothes police are armed with pistols of varying caliber. There is an efficient black market in guns and arms that is heavily monitored by the government though to make sure weapons do not fall into the wrong hands.

8 - What is the official full name of your country? What is the informal name? What are people of your nation called
Formal: "The Empire of Kusatsu"
Informal: "Kusatsu", or "The Empire"
Citizens: Kusatsans

9 - Do you have the death penalty? No! People are much more useful as slaves in forced labor camps. And there, they are never seen again by the public so there isn't much of a difference from the death penalty there anyway.

10 - What is the speed limit? All vehicles have a GPS governed speed regulator, which keeps your car from moving above a certain speed on certain roads. This means that the people do not have to worry about speed limits, as their maximum speed is handled for them.

11 - What types of religions would are permitted or restricted? It is illegal not to have a religion in Kusatsu, all citizens are required to be an active participant in a religion containing more than 400 members.

Which of the following are be legal:

12- Porn - Illegal, three strike crime.

13-Prostitution - Illegal, one strike crime.

14-Polygamy/ Polyandry/ Polyamory - Illegal, one strike crime. All marriages are managed by the government anyway so thing like this rarely ever happen.

15-Homosexuality - All sexual intercourse is Illegal, two strike crime. Currently there is being a push in government to legalize sexual intercourse, although this will likely take a long time to be approved.

16-Stem cell research - Uh, why would we want to stand in the way of progress? Legal of course!

17-Human Cloning - Legal, used for military and human breeding purposes.

18-Cock Fighting? Entertainment of such is illegal, two strike crime.

19-Slavery? - Only legal slavery is in labor camps managed by the government, private slavery and human trafficking is illegal, one strike crime.

20-Hunting? Illegal to hunt for sport, you must be employed as a licensed hunter by a corporation to hunt animals of any kind.

24-Unisex bathrooms ? For efficiency and space conservation, all bathrooms are for both male and female, all races. discrimination of bathrooms or anything else is illegal.

25-Suicide? - Illegal, but as of yet there is no punishment we can find for it as the person is now dead. It is a very rare occurrence anyway.

26 - Gay marriage? - Marriage is mandated by the government and your partner is chosen by an enhanced computer genetics system. If it is decided your partner should be of the same sex as you, then so be it. Usually the computer system makes very accurate and good decisions on partner matching though, only 3% of all people complain about the decision for their spouse.

27-Abortion - The meaning of the word abortion is not known in Kusatsu. All children of The Empire are precious, it would be a waste or good genetic material to kill them before they are born.

28- What types of sexual activity (if any) are illegal ? All sexual contact is illegal. Government mandated artifiacial insemination is the only legal form of reproduction, although there is the occasional slip up. Sexual intercourse is a two strike crime. Rape, incest, and pedophilia are one strike crimes.
Sexual intercourse is not as heavily monitered as other crimes are, and is the easiest crime to get away with. Some are petitioning in government to have it legalized, yet many don't see the point because they can get away with it anyway.

29-Is your country's/culture clothing optional or mandatory? Clothing is required, you must wear clothing befitting of your job/position/gender. Other than that, you may wear anything you can find available at local clothes distributors.

30-Do you have obscenity laws? If so - how would you define "obscene". - Nudity, sex, rebellion, violence (besides propaganda), and anything else illegal is defined as obscene and punished as a 3 strike crime (assuming that all you did was own images of said obscene content)

31-What system do you have for taxes?
- getting close to 100% income tax, money is redistributed to the people where needed in the form of shopping passes, which require you to buy a certain amount of something each week.

31aSales tax? No sales tax, everything is in income taxes.

31bImport/Export tax? none whatsoever. The economy is owned and regulated directly by the government

32-What is the criterion for someone to pass to become a citizen? To become a citizen all you have to do is register at your local data bank and have a MTD (micro tracking device) implanted somewhere on your body. To remove said devices is a one strike crime.

33-What types of people do you allow (or not allow) into your country? All people may enter the country as long as they promptly register as citizens.

34-What type of government are you? Computer Aided Communist Dictatorship

35-To what degree is your government allowed to censor or restrict the media? All media is owned and regulated by the government. Any kind of private media sectors are punished as one, two, or three strike crimes depending upon the type of media displayed.

36-Aside from laws - what sort of unofficial (and unenforced) cultural rules and traditions do you have? – Cultural establishments and societal laws are strictly forbidden, and enforced by brainwashing children from a young age not to accept any ideals or customs besides those provided directly by the government.
