The Champions' League Twenty20
For Domestic Clubs

TEAM SUBMISSION RULES

Each nation's domestic cricket league submits its league champion and its league runner-up to the tournament. Both teams must be shown to have qualified on sporting merit.
The league champion is defined as either (scenario a) the team at the top of the final points table at the end of a season in which no playoff format is used; (scenario b) a team which wins a postseason playoff, the seeding of which is determined by the team's standing in the league; or (scenario c) a team which wins a postseason Twenty20 playoff for a league which plays a different format during its regular season.
The league runner-up is defined as either (scenario a) the team finishing second place at the end of a season in which no playoff format is used; or (scenario b or c) the team which lost the final match of a Twenty20 postseason playoff.

IMPORTANT! You must either post or attach your final points table (and the playoff results, if you hold one in your league) in order to certify your teams' qualification on sporting merit. I don't want to have to hunt through your newswires trying to find your results.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

The format of the previous edition, copied below for your convenience, will be used.

If seven (7) teams or less are entered into the tournament, a single round-robin will ensue, with the top four (4) teams advancing to the playoff.
If eight (8) or more teams are entered, the tournament will be split into equal groups, one consisting of the domestic tournament champions and the other the runners-up. The top two (2) teams from each group will then advance.
After the group stage(s), a playoff will ensue.
If seven (7) teams or less were originally entered, the first-place and fourth-place teams will play for a chance at the final while the second- and third-place teams do the same. The winners will play each other in the final, with the winner of that match declared champion. There is no third-place match.
If eight (8) or more teams were originally entered, the winner of the champions' group will play the runner-up of the non-champions' group, and the winner of the non-champions' group will play the runner-up of the champions' group. The winners of these matches will proceed to the final, with the winner of that match declared champion. There is no third-place match.

FINAL SITE BIDS

Final site bids will be considered for the Champions' League Twenty20. A well-thought bid should include the name of the stadium, its location, seating capacity, and (optionally) a picture and a short description. The most qualitative of the final site bids will be selected for use in each tournament, which will be announced at the submission cut-off. If no bids are entered, the default site for the Champions' Twenty20 final will be the Atarashii-Damushuto International Stadium in Atarashii-Damushuto, Federal District, Damukuni.

Cricketing Board of Authority finalise top-flight plans
CITY CENTRE— Liventia's Cricket Board of Authority today announced finalised plans for national top flight cricket, after years of regionalised competition.

There were no professional clubs in Liventia until five years ago when the CBA was incorporated. Since then, Liventia has gone on to win a World Twenty20 Championship and lead the global GCF Test rankings despite not having a national league.

Six teams will take part in three competitions across the three main forms of cricket, with five drawn from regional leagues and the remaining team being contributed by the Cricket National Centre of Excellence.

The National Championship is a five-day first-class competition, the Liventia Airways Trophy a 50-over List A competition, and the Super Slug League a Twenty20 competition.

The five clubs involved all have a number of national team players on their books. They are Raithwick Park CC, the most well-known Lox Land Island club which counts Test captain Max Finney among its players; Dover CC, which hosted Saugeais in a three-day tour match last GCF season, Cyclonesville CC, representing the west of Liventia; Folenisa Combined CC, a club made up of the best players from Folenisa's intra-city league; and Central Orean CC, the first professional club in the country.

In the limited-overs competitions, nicknames will be adopted. The Centre of Excellence XI will be the Academy Stars, Raithwick Park will be the Bulls, Cyclonesville will be the Westerns, Central Orean will be the Capitals, Folenisa Combined will be the Outlaws, and Dover will be the Scorpions.

Each of the three competitions will feature a home-and-away round robin with the top two teams qualifying for a final.

All six teams will play at Liventia's international grounds:

Great excitement all over AusCricketLand today as the contracted players for this season have been announced. As all of the players are past legends of the game and this great country. Of course having such an awesomeO god as we do and he, hallowed be thy name, having the power of cricketing resurrection he has brought back to life a great mix of eras to add to some of the players from last season. As everyone knows, THE Sir DONALD BRADMAN only has the power to resurrect a past player for just two years before they go back where they came from (the grave).

Cordial Greetings to our fellow cricketing nations from the Glorious Commune. Our Illustrious Nation hereby announces the creation of a Communadi cricket league to determine the greatest okrug team within our Country.

The league itself is divided into 2 stages. The first stage is two Pola'lhighas, one for the North-west and one for the South-east. Six teams will compete in each of these leagues, each team playing each other 3 times, once at home, once away and once upon a neutral ground of the Communadi Cricket Committee's choosing. Upon the conclusion of this stage, the top two teams from each pola'lhigha will advance to the second stage.

The second stage is the Elit'lhigha where again, each team will play the two teams they have not yet faced 3 times using the same format as the Pola'lhighas. Their results against their Pola'lhigha competitors carrying forward to the Elit'lhigha. Upon it's conclusion, a Champion will be declared.

The leagues will be judged thusly; Firstly, percentage of victories with a draw being awarded 50%, should one occur. To decide tie-breakers, firstly head-to-head victories, followed by total number of runs scored. Should these methods by insufficient to decide a winner, the CCC will have the final say in deciding a victor.

Announcement
The deadline for entries to the inaugural Champions Twenty20 tournament is tentatively set for 00:00 BST, Saturday 7 September. Each association may submit two teams to the inaugural tournament, as long as the two teams have qualified through a Twenty20 competition. This means List A (one day) or first-class (red ball) competitions cannot be used to determine CT20 qualifiers.

Apox County Cricket Trophy

The third season of the ACCT has now ended with an added twist, in that now the league now finishes with a short Twenty20 play-off games to determine which teams will enter the newly created Twenty20 Champions Cup. However, first of all, the regular First Class season must take place, before the top four teams play-off to enter the T20CC. Here are the results of the league, with quite a few surprises.

And so it is Dwile this season who stun the league and beat all comers to win their first championship. County Eisc come second, while Mountainshire have a poor season by their standards, finishing 3rd. Olfa, widely considered to have the least quality in their squad somehow manage to slip into the final play-off position, beating Gwinshire and The Broads (both teams who would have got that play-off spot in previous seasons). Westshire lose a record 10 TIMES, to come last by a long, long way. Let's see what happened in the play-offs now.

On a clear night at the Island Cricket Arena, fans of the Folenisa Combined Outlaws and group stage winners Raithwick Park Bulls gathered for the inaugural final of the Super Slog League.

With both teams already guaranteed berths in the new GCF Champions T20 global tournament by virtue of their league finish, it was a chance for players outside the national setup to impress on television and in front of the selectors.

As group stage winners, Raithwick Park Bulls were awarded the right to host the final and prepare a favourable pitch, but were without the services of Leo Cartwright, out with a broken jaw.

Having won the toss, the visitors opted to bat first and sent in 17-year-old opener Ian Rushworth with Kyle Greyvensteyn to face the new ball from Jonathan Adams.

The Outlaws got off to a bad start as Rushworth, having defended the first ball, attempted the forward defensive to the second ball which nipped back in and rapped him on the pads.

Replacement Lloyd Lawson went for just a single off four balls to Ollie Kerr, while Greyvensteyn lasted only nine balls before being bowled by Daniel Quinn.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Garland Goudreau, in at four, made a quick 20 to help the score to 26/3 before he was bowled by a Quinn off-break, leaving the Outlaws in serious trouble.

Walter Ashworth and James Barker put on a 35-ball partnership worth 28 runs until the latter went leg before to Kerr for 12 off 19 balls.

Ashworth saw his next partner, Paul Onions, caught behind off Daniel Aeri for ten before chopping on to his stumps off all-rounder David Millichip, finally departing for a run-a-ball 38.

Millichip also claimed Tom Hewison and Huw Logan in three balls, but Joe Sanderson's 13 from number nine saw the Outlaws through to the close of their innings without further loss.

Set 109 to win, the hosts were in early bother when openers Geraint Swannell (2) and Arthur Cunningham (5) both fell in the second over to Onions.

Jason Mahmood, in at four, fell to Sanderson just four balls after Cunningham to leave the hosts perilously poised on 11/3 but skipper Max Finney and Kerr steadied the ship with a partnership of 42.

Finney, who temporarily dispensed with his gloves in the first innings to bowl, was then stumped by opposite number Goudreau off Logan for 26 with the score on 53/4.

But Kerr led the rest of the chase with an unbeaten 54, helped by a solid 20* from Millichip in an unbroken fifth wicket stand of 56, to see the hosts home with 14 balls to spare to win by six wickets.

Once upon a time, in the nice beaches of Mist City

"Mr. Minister." said an assistant, calmly handing the phone over to the Minister of Sports, Allejo Santos, after enjoying a match between FC Allejo of Sunrise and a not-really-important team of Mist City. The minister, in his sun bath, picked the phone up, with his sunglasses covering his eyes.

"Hello, Allejo Santos, Minister of Sports, not interested in talking about FC Allejo of Sunrise being invited to the Junior League is on the line."

"Uh... Meister! Oh, a jolly day to you! I represent a group of teams that play Twenty20 Cricket and would like to say that we want a Cricket League for Northern Sunheise Islands!" said the voice at the other side of the call.

"Erm... What? Look, mister, we aren't interested on a band opening our national games."

"A band? Is this a fecking joke? Are ya out of your damn mind?"

"Twenty20 Cricket. Isn't that a band or something?", asked the minister, quite oblivious to the entire thing.

"It's a sport, ya bloody idiot!"

"Fine... Tell you what. Find a bunch of businessmen and I'll allow it."

"Yeh, good! See yah at the field!", said happily the other man, finishing the call.

The man on the line, Jenson McStereotaipe, however, was already one step forward on the subject. He already contacted several businessmen around the multiverse, convincing them that the tournament would be a nice way to prove who had the most ability on running a legacy of a team at a sport that he believed no one would try to send a team for, specially considering that it was in Northern Sunrise Islands, who even as open for sports as it the nation is, didn't know anything about the sport.

After a meeting with the now astonished Allejo Santos, McStereotaipe was able to obtain the national license, thus creating the first ever national league of Cricket at the country, however, with two conditions. The league would need to have at least one side that was fully Sunrisian-born and the season would need to have an average of at least 5,000 people watching it live. Now that was the setback. He would not be able to convince any businessman to create a team of Sunrisians, mostly because the chance was that they would be terrible at it and losing would be more probable.

Two weeks later, however, the newspapers had info on a Cricket League, and while the Sunrisians were mostly not really caring about it, there was no way to cancel it now.

With the two Super Slog League finalists falling two points short of the qualifying spots for the final, the Liventian List A final was contested between two sides who actually finished the group stage with negative net run rates, with the Central Orean Capitals being awarded the hosting rights due to a slightly better rate than opponents Dover Scorpions.

Eight Liventian internationals were involved in this final, with Paul Jamieson, Alex Williams, Will Stewart and Matt Geach representing the visitors and Dylan Hennessey, Stuart Watting, Peter Smallville and Ben Broome on the home side.

Geach won the toss and opted to bat, with Jamieson and Williams opening. Jamieson had the larger contribution for the first partnership, and when the first wicket fell on 87 through a run-out, the casualty Williams had faced just 40 balls for his 36.

Another key partnership followed as Will Stewart joined Jamieson at the crease, the two adding 79 in just 12.5 overs before Jamieson found himself short of his ground and run out.

Out stepped young wicketkeeper Greg Glover promoted to four, and he made a season-best 30 in another stand of 79 with Stewart before offering his front pad to Watting before Stewart followed in the next over for a run-a-ball 84, bowled by an inswinger that beat the bat.

Andrew Kumar and Martin Procter saw the visitors out to the end of their innings with an unbroken partnership of 17 in just 14 balls, closing on 270/4 to set the hosts 271 to win.

Opening with Michael Westley and Rick Stern, the Capitals started steadily before Stern fell leg before to Geach for 24.

In came captain Hennessey, and although the Capitals lost Westley to Gale for 17 and the score on 60, Hennessey and Stuart Watting put on a mammoth 195-run partnership in 35.3 overs before the skipper was trapped by Kumar for an impressive 115.

With just 14 balls remaining in the match, the Capitals needed 16 to win. Wicketkeeper David Smith took a single off his first ball faced to put Watting on strike, but just three balls later the vice-captain was walking back to the pavilion, victim to off-spinner Fred Batty for 94 and leaving the hosts needing 10 to win off 10 balls.

Smith was run out two balls later with nothing added to the score, and James Lynch also suffered the same fate with three balls left in the innings and the score on 266.

With the hosts needing four off the last ball to win, Paul Cronk could only manage two as the Dover Scorpions eked out the closest of wins.

Licentian Parish Championships:

An established league for many years, the Licentian Parish Championships will be sending two of their four teams to the CT20.

Each team in the league represents one of the four parishes, of the Licentian Isles; Montfort, Abingdon, Colesham and St Bart's. In a slightly strange tradition, not found in many other sports on the Isles, players are expected to represent their home parish in the Championships, making it almost a competition for bragging rights between the four. This also means that the two "posher", cricket-playing parishes, Montfort and Colesham, are expected to dominate the league, with the sport being slightly more popular in those areas.

Although Colesham won the league, St Bart's surprised many by getting the, suddenly significant, second place in the Championships. Montfort disappointed, with the team from the capital finishing last.

Champions T20
The Global Cricket Federation's domestic cricket arm is pleased to confirm that the inaugural Champions Twenty20 global club competition will feature, somewhat appropriately, 20 teams.

For the inaugural competition, all teams will be based in Liventia, and for future tournaments bids to stage the competition (or portions of the competition) will be invited.

There will be four groups of five. Each team will play each other team in its group once. Twelve teams will qualify for the knockout rounds: the group winners will qualify automatically for the quarterfinals, while the next two per group will qualify for the first round. (For the first tournament, no ranks are being used, only a small RP bonus factor for your league posts. A ranking system will be in use for the next edition onwards.)

Two points will be awarded for a win and one for a tie. Where points are tied, the tiebreakers will be as follows: net run rate, games won, wickets taken per overs bowled, drawing of lots.

With the 2014 season still several months off, a special Challenge Tournament was held. With 11 new teams joining the top level of domestic cricket in Darmen next season, 22 teams set their sights on the two spots available. Hendricks City caught up to Vogler City in the last match before the Challenge A Final, and then went on to defeat Forden by a single run, following excellent batting. Forden wasn't helped by the fact that their best bowler, Matthew Johnson, was injured.

In the Challenge B, Bryxen City rampaged through the final match before the Final, holding Sterling City to just 98 runs. They only needed 12.5 overs to surpass that mark, while protecting the wicket superbly. In the Final, they were even more impressive, holding Scott City to just 73 runs. They only needed 8.3 overs to hit 78, while once again protecting the wicket superbly. Derry Woods made a strong case to be included in the starting XI on the National Team, scoring 46 of the teams 78 runs, and hitting the match winning six that sent the crowd into a frenzy.

Hendricks City and Bryxen City met in the Seeding Final to determine positioning in the Champions Twenty20. Bryxen City's batters were reminded once again what wickets were like. In the end, Bryxen City weren't able to catch up to Hendricks City, needing a six on the final ball, and only getting a dot ball. Hendricks City and Bryxen City will represent Darmen at the 2nd Champions Twenty20.
