Sorry, I answer as I read posts, and unlike the Jolt forum, there's no easy way to merge posts.

Open a quote window/tab for each post you wish to reply to, then c/p all the quoted material into a single reply window, and proceed from there. 'S what I usually do.

Same here. Although it has the unfortunate side-effect of making many of my posts into gigantic multi-screen-length monstrosities...

Web cameras are not as problematic as microphones, you can turn the camera away or even stick a piece of paper over it. Microphones can not be covered as easily, and regardless of if a microphone can not reveal things like dressing/undressing, it can still catch, I.E conversations of personal details.

That is, of course, if you take proper precautions to actually cover the camera; it should be mentioned that a computer connected to the internet can be compromised - For example malicious pieces of software making their way to your computer giving a person on the other side of the earth full access to your computer, including webcamera and microphone - So you SHOULD cover the camera and take similar precautions with the microphone (if there are any), regardless of if the laptop is yours or if you received it from a "middle-man".

I can only speak from my experience, and yeah I can say they are incompetent. Also, they set their own policy for the most part.

98% of all internet users would cry if facebook would break down, if you are part of that 2% who simply would sit back and laugh then copy and paste this into your sig.

How is it hard to turn off your laptop webcam?

I mean, it's not like this shit doesn't use system resources or show up as a process that's running.

You are not always present at your computer. Some people leave the computer on, and it might be too late when you notice that the process is already running.

The problem is that the cameras can be turned back on remotely.

It is with school technology.

We put measures in place to prevent it.
If you can read this, thank your teachers.
