After moving into position after their breakout on the beaches, the Branriech artillery opened fire with rumbling terror, supporting the marines as they rapidly advanced inland, eliminating any opposition. The unit in question was bogged down near a small town in a forest, local wildlife had already cleared out, allowing the soldiers to fight and nothing else. The enemy defenses were starting to be too much for the unit, and they recently requested some fire support from the rocket forces nearby who were glad to test out their new weapons. Turrets traversed with a mechanical grind, treads churned up ground and bracers locked the vehicles in place. With an audible "Whoosh!", the long, slender rockets zipped from their tubes and arced through the air on an impact course with their enemy.
The sounds of gunfire and shouting was the most prominent, but the sound of approaching tanks could be heard as well, beyond the horizon, as more and more forces began their landing operations. A few jet fighters that slipped past the enemy defenses also roared over, dropping their munitions on tactical targets farther back.

The Urranese forces were known to be fierce fighters, they moved silently through the dense forest where the tanks could not go, the Branriech forces would have to go in after them if they wanted to put down the resistance. They had some combat advantages over the humans, they had better eyesight, they were faster, they had better hearing, and they were more agile. However, they lacked strength and endurance that the humans possessed and dared not face them without reinforcements. They opted instead to shoot at them from their dense forest cover.

Among them was a twenty three year old writer, Warrant Officer Tokai. His breath was heavy and short as he ran through the forests that provided he and his troops with cover. He hid behind a tree and stood up straight so as not to be seen be the enemy forces. He peeked out from behind his chosen piece of cover as explosions threw dirt and bullets whizzed around him. He saw the enemy forces advancing, slowly, menacingly. He clicked the safety off of his rife and threw himself into the leaf litter, firing a few tri bursts from his TAR-21 at what appeared to him to be an officer. His emotions were conflicted, on one hand, this man probably had a family and friends, but on the other, this man was trying to kill him and his people. “I-I’m sorry” he whispered as he fired, he felt a slight recoil from his rifle.
As the officer, a Major, fell, the rest of his troops fell back into the brush as their artillery started falling around them. The rockets made a terrifying screech as they entered the range of sight. The Urranese soldiers could see their impending death approaching now. The tanks that were behind the infantry opened fire as well, their dual cannons posing a dire threat to anyone in the front of them. More jet fighters stormed over as well, but they weren't a threat at the moment, neither were the squadrons of strategic bombers soaring over as well, creating a long forgotten hum as the Branriech was still operating turbo-prop aircraft, the still formidable Tu-95 Bear.
The rockets struck a few moments later, standard High Explosive rounds laced with small internal compartments of shrapnel. The sparks flew when the small shards of metal bounced off each other in the air. It would have been a horrifying sight for those not affected by the blast.

There was nothing the infantry could do to stop the Bombers or fighters. The air force would deal with them soon enough. A whispering death was approaching the Branriech troops in the form of tanks. They were among the fastest and most maneuverable in the world. But they were hiding in the forest, waiting to ambush the Branriech troops as they charged forward.

But that didn’t matter to the infantry trapped on the front line. The rockets screamed overhead and ripped the trees apart. Many Urranese were killed. They cried out in agony, and were suddenly silenced, fires burned and trees cracked under the heat. Yoshi was covered in smelly, brown earth as a rocket exploded nearby; he jumped up and hid behind another tree. He was panting as fear took over, could this be the end? No, no, he had to make it, for the sake of his friends, his family back home.
“Warrant Officer?” came the voice of another Urranese soldier. Yoshi turned and saw the other soldier, a corporal, bloodied and bruised, running towards him with an AT4. “The Lieutenant’s dead Sir, that means you’re in charge.”
Yoshi stood still, fear washed over him, the lives of 30 men rested firmly in his hands, he stared at the other man blankly, trying to figure out what to do, stand and fight, or turn and run.
“Sir, I have a few shells left, we can take some of them with us!” he said over the roar of the rockets and the screams of the dying. Yoshi was just about to speak when another rocket exploded nearby and threw him against a tree. He screamed in agony as he heard his back crunch against the rock hard trunk of the mighty forest giant.
“Warrant Officer!” the other soldier screamed and rushed to his side. Yoshi was bruised and bleeding. The other soldiers eyes widened in terror and shock. He lowered his launcher and stared at the wreck before him. Yoshi’s lower right leg was missing, leaves and dirt had collected on the scorched flesh that oozed a purplish-blue liquid, blood. He was covered in cuts and scrapes, he was fairly certain that his other leg was broken and it felt like his pelvis had been shattered.
Yoshi reached up and grabbed the other man’s pistol off of his hip and lay down his rifle. “G-go” he coughed weakly, a small amount of blood had collected on his lips.
“Sir, I can’t leave you like this” the other man said and went to pick up the bleeding Yoshi.
“No” Yoshi protested. “I-I’ll slow you down, you’re in charge now Hiyama. G-get the others to safety. I-it’s not much, b-but I can act as a speed bump.”
“Sir..” the other man had tears brimming in his scarlet eyes.
“I said go! Take my rifle and go!” he ordered roughly, he wasn’t about to risk this man’s life to save his own.
“Yes sir.” The soldier said and he got up and ran off, leaving Yoshi a few magazines for his pistols.
Yoshi was now alone. He was hurt and bleeding, the others had abandoned him totally. He was alone with his pain. He loaded his weapons and listened to the approaching enemy forces. He could hear the squeak of treads and even the foot falls of enemy troops as they advanced.
“K-k-katya.” He whispered. “I’m sorry” tears filled his eyes. He wasn’t scared of death, he was afraid of leaving his friends and family back home. They had all believed in him, and he let them down. He could feel his life slowly ebbing away. “I-I’m sorry.” He repeated. He lay there, under his tree, awaiting his last battle. “I’m sorry”

"Вверх! Полковник, мы получили одно живое здесь!" One soldier shouted over the din of distant battle and rocket strikes. The several hundred Branriechian soldiers moved up cautiously. His words were translated to "Colonel, we have a survivor here!" and several soldiers halted in their advance. They heard the cries of pain, but knew it wasn't the one they were moving towards, and one soldier, the medic on duty, shouted out in broken Urranese. "We're coming forward! Are you wounded?!" He shouted, seeking the approval of his commanded who nodded. The young man ran out of his shell hole, dragging a few others with him for help.
The trio zipped over, under the threat of snipers as well. They saw Yoshi lying against a tree and the two soldiers that weren't medics pointed their rifles at him, hoarsely ordering him to drop the weapons in a foreign language.
"Yuri, gather branches from nearby! Oleg, tell the colonel to keep advancing, don't wait on us!"
The two soldiers nodded and got to working on their respective activities and the medic knelt down, picking out needles and gauze from his pack. He jammed a needle into Yoshi's neck, nulling the pain.
"You're going to be alright!" He shouted, terrified in Urranese.

Yoshi’s response was to shake his head and lower his pistols; he didn’t have the strength to hold them up anymore. He couched up more blood, a sticky, purplish blue liquid, different from a human’s. “I-internal damage, I-I’m n-not going to make it” tears ran down his face, forming clean, wet trails through the grime. “K-katya, T-tora” he whispered hoarsely. Yoshi took a shaky hand and opened a pocket on his body armor. The content of said pocket was a photo book. It had the address of the building as well as pictures of all of Yoshi’s friends and family: Katya, Torii, Bran, Rylli, Gio, Swith, Tolya, Jacob, and the others. “Please” he whispered. “T-tell them I’m sorry, I-I let them down.”

"No! NO!" The Medic screamed at the top of his lungs, still injecting Yoshi with painkillers. If he couldn't save the boy, he would surely make his passing as painless as possible. Once he was numbed up enough, he got to work, wrapping up his leg stump with a cloth to stop the bleeding, and preparing to stabilize his wounds. But it would be too late. The other two soldiers arrived just to see his final moments as well. The medic set his tools down and started cursing the sky. He grabbed the photobook as well, pocketing it.
"What's your name, boy? Just relax, it's going to be alright, you got it?" He asked.
“Y-Yoshi Tokai…” he whispered. He knew he was dying; there was nothing he could do to change it. His emerald eye was brimming with tears. “G-Gio!” he called out suddenly. He wanted to live, for their sake; he hoped that she could save him, or at least hear him. “G-gio, please, d-don’t let me go…d-don’t…let me….” And with that, he faded away. His body went limp, but his lingering spirit shrieked in terror before it left his body and entered eternity.

(OOC) In conjunction with Tsu...

Tekikoku, seeing that Tsu and Scarlet were too busy playing Ghost Recon, and Edge was cleaning one of Tsu's dinosaur fossils, decided to visit katya. She peeked out of her room, before walking out. She headed straight for The Dimitrovs' room. Once she got there, Tekikoku knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer.

Inside, Katya, as usual, mouthed a quiet "one second" to Kei, before jumping out of the bed. She approached the door, and, anticipating Dora, flung it open with a "HELLO!""

Tekikoku faintly smiled and waved shyly."Hello...Katya..." she said in a low voice. "how...are you doing today?. I thought we could hang out like friends.". Tekikoku was holding a book tightly to her chest, due to how shy she was.

"and my sisters are too busy to..."

"Tekikoku?”

How strange, that of all of Tsu's siblings, the quiet one would come by to hang out! Still, Katya was pleased, and stepped aside for Tekikoku to enter. "Yea, that sounds nice. Come on in, then! Me and Kei are just doing nothing, and I'm expecting someone else, too. Maybe we can all hang out together?"

"That sounds very nice..."

Tekikoku walked into the room and took a seat on the couch, still holding her book. She looked around the room.

"what a nice place you have Katya. It's amazing....there's not a single t-rex skull or ak-47 ammo laying on the floor.......unlike in my room...where Tsu or Edge won’t pick up their stuff...falling on a stegosaurus leg bone hurts a lot more than it should.", Tekikoku said, rubbing her backside. "They need to learn how to clean......" (yes edge owns guns)

"oh, it's not that great.", Katya blushed. "It's just me and my sister's little home."

"It's better than my room...I have to do with Scarlet's constant desire to watch the world burn....she's a pyromaniac...the worst part is she can control fire and she's a more major threat to Tsu than anyone else here, since Tsu being ice, and scarlet being fire....they don’t mix well...."

Katya giggled. "Yea...siblings ARE often opposites like that.", Said the Aristocrat. "Like me and Tora, sometimes. Oh, by the way, how are your sisters? Edge? Tsu? What about Scarlet?"

She hadn't seen them in a while, and knew that Tora missed them as well. She felt like a little info would be nice.

"They’re doing fine. What about you and Tora?", Tekikoku asked." Maybe you, me, Tora, Tsu and Edge could hang out sometimes, just us five. Wouldnt that be fun?"

Tekikoku thought for a bit how that would go and smiled. "you and edge are friends/enemies right?" she asked again. "You two fight to prove who is the stronger one...I’m surprised you survive against Edge, she hits like a .50 cal."

"Yea, Edge is really strong...hehe. We haven’t really fought in a while. Last time was...scary. Honestly, she scares me...which is why i think she's very cool."

Katya glanced at Kei. "Isn't Edge cool? She's like, tall, really tough..."

Tekikoku nodded. “Her skin happens to be really pale for a odd reason....and she really doesn’t like being in the sun...she says the sun weakens her.", Tekikoku sighed. "but I am 100% sure she isn't a vampire...I still remember that time she shot you with a arrow...wonder what was that about?"

Katya shrugged. She was beginning to feel a tad awkward, since Kei was still there.

“Um...yea...I forget what that was about...anyway...um...”

She looked at Kei again, then Tekikoku. “Say, want to do something, guys? I can just text Dora where we are, so she won’t be confused.”

"Whos dora?", Tekikoku asked. "Well...I guess I have to see when they get here."

She opened her book and began to read.

"I love this book...it's about nature."

The BranRiech wrote:"Well, let's fix the place right now, and we can wait to see if Chrys or someone comes back. WHo was that new guy anyways?" Bran asked. He put the water bottle on the counter and started off across the hall to the communal gathering room. Bran figured they could fix that, and then get onto experimenting.

"After we find some things out, we can then take it to the raptors."

"Good idea." Jacob said with a nod, following Bran out of the room and to the communal gathering room. "The new guy was some strange guy named Ate. I do not know much about him.... He is very secretive and doesn't seem like the most social of people. I would agree with taking it to the raptors, but we could ask them if we could watch some of the experiments that they are undoubtedly going to do with it. I am not sure if they would say yes, but it would not hurt to ask, right?" As he spoke, he righted some of the couches in the room by himself, that had been knocked over by the marble slab.

The words of a dying soldier made Giovenith feel as if she had been slapped with a wrecking ball. They had flown out from in-between air, colliding full-force into her consciousness and bouncing around her head, as if she were the ringer piece of a bell. She was young, she had never before received prayer, both the impact, shock, and nature of it practically sucked the wind out of her.

"AH-!" Her concentration on swimming well with Torii and Yuna slipped, her panic pulling her under, as she allowed herself to sink to the bottom. She was not, however, drowning. No, she had managed to save enough air inside of her to not slip out of awareness, it was more so the aspect of the water that pulled her down. In many ways, water was a central symbol to her family's line of work; its flow was thought to simulate the Eternal Flow, and mama often hid and slept in lakes or ponds. The ringing stopped being so skull-splitting, the words of the prayer began to formulate and make sense in her mind.

"Mmm, hm hm hm..." Giovenith stifled, repressing actually drowning by trying to sob underwater. Oh no. Oh my god. No, this had to be a delusion. Her mind was tricking her again. But why did her core ache so much? Oh, her friend... silly friend! She had told him she didn't have much power! He knew she was only a young one! Yet, he had still called to her for help. And she couldn't do a thing about it. Nothing... she... she could... Giovenith broke through the surface again, and after coughing up and shaking the extra water from her face, let out a shrill shriek and began to weep openly.

"What is it, miss Giovenith?" Yuna asked, surfacing as well. She looked concerned, although she hoped everything would be alright, her training and mentoring told her that something was indeed wrong. She quickly swam over.

"Need help out of the pool?" She asked.

Torii was surprised by Gio's sudden outburst, and shocked by her suddenly crying. What was happening to Gio? She didn't know what was happening, or why....

"Gio? Gio!? Gio!", Torii cried as she grabbed the godling by her shoulders and started shaking her. "Giovenith Serena, what's going on!?"

Giovenith gasped a few more breaths in an attempt to calm herself down, but even with her friends' assistance, this was not going to happen. She was too shaken up by her friend's death and in all not being used to receiving a prayer, that all she could do to settle herself was lower the volume on her screams and bend her arms down to little shudders.

"I-I-I-I-I..." she stuttered. "I- I'm not- I couldn't- I'm not- I don't have enough-"

Hat did she mean she sisnt have enough!? Why was she acting so crazy?

Torii started to freak out a bit. She didn't know what to do, or why Gio was breaking down. She stopped shaking Gio, but kept her hands at the girl's shoulders.

"Nnnn..." whimpered Gio, trying to wipe at and dry her face, but to no avail considering her hands were just as wet. The girl began breathing in and out again, her thoughts aligning to make her consider how she would tell Yuna and Torii. If she could tell Yuna and Torii. Especially Torii. Giovenith wasn't so sure that her god-wary friend would too much appreciate the news, both because it was Yoshi, and because of how it had been delivered. "Y-You... you don't..." she began to stutter again.

She felt more sad-gasping coming on, and Giovenith steadily felt like she couldn't bare to handle this anymore. She needed to core in her thoughts. "I'm really sorry, I'm sorry! I'm not strong, I couldn't do anything..." Maybe if she got that out of the way, whenever she chose to tell the rest wouldn't be so bad.

Yuna tilted her head to the side and shrugged. If Gio were to tell her, the news wouldn't affect her much. She had never met Yoshi. But No one knew that. "Gio, are you alright?" The girl asked as she climbed out of the pool to dry herself off. She took off her swimsuit without care and quickly wrapped her form in the towel nearby, doing so in such a manner that would not allow for anything to be seen that people might not want to see.

She sat down and looked at Gio.

"You can tell us, these ears are for listening."

"Yes, Mr. Warfstache, it's Ray Jansma," Ray bit his lip as he tried to hold back a sigh. The inherent ignorance of Wilfred was absolutely stinging in this instance, just by his introduction and tone of voice. "Do I have permission to have your signature on a document that approves me as your representative to the clinic? Yuri sat upright in her bed and gasped. "Yoshi..." she said softly. Her hair was wet and her face flushed. She had been having night-sweats and nightmares. This, wasn't a nightmare though, this was real. Yoshito Tokai was gone.

Ray slapped his face in anger, dragging his hand across his face. "...Alright then, Mr. Warfstache. I'll make sure I can get it done. Goodbye," Ray hid his frustration and hung up, dropping his phone into his pocket. He decided that forging Wilfred's signature might be a little much, since it'd still trace back somehow. So: why not scope out the clinic from the outside? He could always try and plant a bug of some description; Ray had received limited training with network and computer hacking, only knowing how to plant a basic bug on a computer to retrieve information. Still, perhaps he could try a variety of different methods of getting back inside without causing too much suspicion.

Firing a smoke grenade through the window could be a little much, as would threatening with a firearm. Anything combat-related was out the window, and he couldn't just attain a warrant like in his police days. Sneaking in through the air vents could be a rather bad idea, as he might make noise or get himself stuck. Suddenly, a simple idea occurred: why not just check for back windows, and see if he could pry his way inside? A few handy tools in his car might help with that...

... and so it is and so it is...

Fleeting whispers glittered through ethereal pathways of chaotic emotion and swirled around the consciousness of two beings deep in meditation.

Not strong at all. Weak as a kitten.

Malevolent eyes peered from under heavy lids. "As predicted," Atosh, deep within his stronghold, growled and returned to his revere.

Not strong at all. Unable to do a thing.

"Tell me, show me, I don't believe," Ogoti demurred.

A keen answered. It was soft at first but rose in intensity as a steam-governed whistle from a train. The sound streaked across time and space and swept through the sleepy city of Bielefeld. It was purpose-driven as well as fueled by pain and fear. It was what Ogoti's kind fed on. The keen swarmed before a brilliantly shining being. It was absorbed and understood yet no action came of the frantic petition. Tumbling thoughts volleyed outward from the being.

Futility. Pain. Disappointment. Despair. Such despair.

Ogoti placed his watering can on a shelf and dusted soil from his hands. "Yes. A godling's lament. The universe isn't sunshine and roses. She isn't a little girl. She'll assume a god's mantle soon enough. Such is the cycle."

Despair. Grief. Madness. Doubt.

Ogoti waved his hand in the air to dispel the annoying emotions. "I'm not her mama. I'm not her foe. It's none of my business."

"Stubborn. Fool. Ass. She's just a godling." The chastisement didn't come from the ethereal plain. It took Ogoti a heartbeat to realize he'd spoken. He raised an eyebrow and took on a more familiar, human form. He sighed and blinked away Giovenith's turmoil. He didn't know Yoshi but he was fond of Pearlelei's daughter. He was the nurturing face of Chaos; he allowed himself to grieve for Gio and her current predicament and then he left his apartment to locate her.

The godling was surrounded by friends when he arrived. She was a pale-haired, drowned rat shivering by the pool. Ogoti blew out a slow breath and approached the group.

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears, and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination.

Smooth talk , wear a disguise, sneak into the air vents. Do whatever as long as they don't know I sent you. Got it wolfy?" Warfstashe replied as he prepared to leave for his golf tee time.

Most of the windows were to the examination rooms and were a bit too small and high to crawl through. They had frosted glass to block perverts from getting a view. However on the second floor of the clinic were clear windows into the office of Dr. Martin. Which was empty at the moment as the good doctor was busy with appointments.

"Myeeeeeh..." she squeaked some more, tightening the towel around her. She did not like ruining another's okay time, the precise moment when something terrible sank in was a dreadful one. Giovenith sniffed a bit more, but then caught wave of something, poking her face out a bit to notice that Ogoti had come. "Most High..." she sniffed, figuring he probably already knew.

"Oh, son of a bitch...Just my luck," Ray sighed as he got a good look at the windows of the clinic. He decided that the best shot would be at the office of Dr. Martin, and so he went back into his car to retrieve a tool that might help him open the window without attracting too much attention. A few moments later, Ray returned with a collapsible prybar and a grappling hook attached to a harness. Getting the grappling hook up onto the roof of the building without attracting attention would be a most certainly difficult adventure: Ray didn't even have a proper launcher that might aid him, so he'd have to depend on the strength of his arms to heave the hook up onto a ledge or a holder of some kind. He began to search for good spots to do so as he mounted the harness to his body, having left his hat behind in his car.

Ogoti's face softened. He slowly nodded at the godling and nudged past people to kneel beside her. "It's not your destiny to intervene this time. You're not the instrument. You only heard the song being sung to you. It's the first time anyone has brought music to you? We can't always act on every chorus, dear heart. Sometimes all we can do is listen."

He brushed the hair from her face and rubbed his thumb across her wet cheek. "Sometimes that's all we can do," he soothed.

A slight mixture of pleasant feelings washed over Yuna, as well as an equal amount of negative feelings that came at the same time. Yuna looked up at Ogoti with a mixed expression. On one hand, he looked nice enough, but the mixed feelings were enough to warrant some mistrust. She smiled though, as mother had always taught her to be polite under any circumstance.

"I know how people pray." She responded to her friend. In fact, it was one of the things she knew a lot about.

A shadowy figure raised its head, magenta eyes glowing. "How very interesting" it said neutrally. Gen Regenerade had also sensed Yoshi's death via telepathy. He smirked and crossed his legs. "So much for love."
