The government/military does not take spoils from defeated enemies, we just leave them to their defeat and go about with our day. Individual soldiers, on the other hand, are free to take things from slain enemies such as wallets, money, and weapons. Those items are typically regarded as war trophies by the troops, however, The RTC government and military does not condone such actions and strives to prevent looting of the fallen as often as possible.

We grant the people of our new province automatic citizenship in our nation. We settle our people in their nation. We intermarry with them. The Ministry of Culture provides parties with food, drink and music for young single males and females of both nations. The National Census Office keeps accurate records of intermarriage and births. Thier nation's orphans are adopted by needy families of our nation and settled in the new province.

Galliand allows the conquered nation to exist as a semi-autonomous colony under a fairly elected leader (though the government can heavily influence voting). The leaders can govern mostly on their own, but a majority vote in the Galliandian High Council can strike out any decision or action by the government, and a tribute of whatever product the colony produces is required bi-monthly. Also, the citizens can vote in the election of the Minister of Public Relation with one half vote each.
However, if the territory borders Galliand or is reasonably close or manageable at whatever distance it is from the mainland, it is usually annexed into Galliand itself.

Dermastina's policy on this actually changes depending on the circumstances. While we were a part of NATO we followed their rules, however once we began the invasion of Africa it was changed in accordance to the goals of that war.

When the aggressors, Dermastina enforces a temporary police-state system on the country in question while we take apart and rebuild their government from scratch. In the space of about half-a-year we use whatever labour the country can offer to start building up the infrastructure, roads, hospitals, electricity and other services are set up as much as we can. During this period the state can be compared to communism, as we do our best to try and sort the whole country out; this ends once we believe the country is capable of sustaining itself sufficiently.

Once everything is running smoothly, the people are taxed fairly, and are considered citizens of the Dermastinan empire. The country is considered a colony, and is self-governing, though Dermastina is recognised as a higher authority, and they are required to recognise our Monarch as the head of state. A member of the Royal Family who is not in line for the throne is normally tasked with representing them, however, or failing that the state is without a permanent leader and is simply left a democracy. Such states are generally small, however the anti-corruption Houses still have representatives there.

The spoils of war usually consist of annexed territory and confiscated enemy weapons and hardware. That is the official line of action issued by the military high command. In reality, the common soldiers steal everything not nailed down, and what is nailed down is usually stolen with the help of tanks. A few years ago there was an incident that became a synonym to the tendency to take everything - the Krywat Incident.
The victorious kaitjanese troops took everything they could, including the city´s largest bronze bells and the bell tower itself. They dismantled it in just 2 days and loaded it into military trucks. Neither the bells or the tower has been found.
