I think many are against communism simply due to the fact how it's been depicted; many people seem to dislike communism without considering what it even is. Also if you have family from eastern Europe, they may have a certain bias against communism / socialism due to actions of the USSR. I don't think the ideologies of communism are the reason the whole "Better dead than red, gosh dang commies" chants come from, more of just how communism has been depicted by the USA.

I tend to dislike Communism simply because of what it is and what it has done to my family.
