Regional happenings should include proposal endorsements

Postby Puchi » Sun Jun 28, 2009 12:51 pm

Currently, regional happenings are mostly departures and arrivals, sprinkled with a few founder or delegate actions, like ejecting, banning, password protecting, and... WA resolution voting. What doesn't show up, however, is when a delegate endorses a proposal. I believe the region has a right to know what the delegate is doing, and that this should show up. It would promote interest in the proposal stage of the WA, encouraging delegates to be active, because their people will be watching. They'll also make sure to represent their voters interest. All in all, I just don't see how more public scrutiny could be a bad thing.

You can look at the Delegate votes to find out how your delegate has voted.

Oh I see. I misread. Well, when you look at the list of proposals you see who has approved them and who has not.

I know. But most people won't bother to check that, I think it should be much more prominent.

I'm with Sirocco on this one. I'm a bit weary that my regionmates will force me to OK an approval with them first, though. But, not all delegates are tied down by the democratic process. :\

Hmm, a good thought... I'm a bit worried at how it will effect reaching quorum...

When I was delegate I approved everything I thought we should vote on, (basically if it was well written and had a point), even if I totally disagreed with them. I could see this getting in the way of that, as my regionmates might not have liked that policy so much... meaning less approvals for each proposal.

Although then again, it may cause regions to see just how inactive their delegate is, and throw him out for more active ones...

Idk, worth a shot I guess.

In the case of some delegates, this could drive everything else out of their 'Regional Happenings' lists verrry quickly...
The Confrederated Clans (and other Confrederated Bodys) of the Free Bears of Bears Armed
(includes The Ursine NorthLands) Demonym = Bear[s]; adjective = ‘Urrsish’.
Population = just under 20 million. Economy = only Thriving. Average Life expectancy = c.60 years. If the nation is classified as 'Anarchy' there still is a [strictly limited] national government... and those aren't "biker gangs", they're traditional cross-Clan 'Warrior Societies', generally respected rather than feared.

Agreed. Or if you're in a busy region, your approvals will get driven out by people moving in and out anyways...

Aren't they visible in the Delegate's page?

I'd rather not scroll the Regional Happenings page more than necessary, given that the information is quite accessible anyway...

They weren't visible in the Delegate's nation page either. I've just added log lines both there and in Regional Happenings.
