"Just asking, it looks very nice on you," said Giovenith politely, figuring that perhaps her friend was simply in a bad mood. It happened to the best of all people. "You seem down on your spirits at the moment, is there anything I can do to help with that?"

Yoshi pushed Giovenith just enough to make her fall down. "Yes, you can never talk to me again!" he said and ran off.

"OW!" Giovenith had been unprepared for the assault and already in a relaxed mood from the walk home, making the fall particularly painful and striking. Bad mood or not, whatever harsh feelings someone had was not an excuse to harm their friends! "Yoshi, what is the matter with you?!" she called after him, sitting up and cradling her elbow. It hurt, but she wasn't about to let herself cry and tarnish her own personal pride. The message of it all was getting to it none-the-less though. "O-Only schoolyard cowards make out of the blue strikes and then run before the aftermath!" she yelled angrily, deeply confused by the whole event.

I don't give a damn if they have the kinks- they're untrustworthy as hell and the last true remnant of the old Eldar empire before they were stomped into extinction. Which is more than enough reason to wipe 'em out."

Volturius was visibly disgusted by the mere mention of Eldar. He never took kindly to the species- the Dark Eldar, while having similar alignment, were less trustworthy than a Khorne Berserker and frequent to backstabbing anyone, including their own (which was detestable to one that valued loyalty above all else). Most of his few interactions with the Eldar however were the Eldar themselves, owing more to his disgust.

Passing off the train of thought, Volturius then turned his attention once more to the attention of the Raptors, finding their name to be both annoying and surprising. He had always assumed the label of his specialization was from the birds of prey that inhabited the galaxy, not large, bald lizards.

"Wait, your group are birds?" Volturius asked in a rather stunned tone as he now stared slack-jawed in disbelief at the dinosaurs.
"Quod Vult, Valde Valt"

Excuse me, sir. Seeing as how the V.P. is such a V.I.P., shouldn't we keep the P.C. on the Q.T.? 'Cause if it leaks to the V.C. he could end up M.I.A., and then we'd all be put out in K.P.

Swith Witherward wrote:The evening sky on Gliese was peppered with stars. Swith, who had gone on vacation with her mate and children, slipped from bed and opened the French doors leading out to the balcony. The palace below was still in celebration. Swith's eyes weren't on them, though. She looked up at the stars and drew a shuddering breath.

It was a silent keen that traveled on a plain that no mortals could hear. It was a greeting and a goodbye wrapped in a gossamer strand that couldn't be broken by mortals or gods or even the Greater Beings. It was a patient and gentle understanding buoyed by her gratitude and admiration for a foe who had, in a sense, become a cherished entity in her world.

She stood silently amongst the sounds of revelry and joy from below, and she wept tears that were neither sad or happy. They were simply tears, and they fell from her eyes and landed on her chest without any further preamble.

"Farewell," she whispered to the stars. Her mind reflected upon octopus and pizza parlors, replicants and tea with scones. She sighed and her head tilted as she keened again. And then, because there wasn't anything left to do, she stepped inside and closed the door to block out the noise for a while.

The strains of Rachmaninoff's Prelude in C# Minor echoed throughout the darkly lit ether of Cuisine's apartment. He and Luce sat together over beers, toasting an honorable acquaintance and an enigmatic mind. They spoke of Aetherians and shards, of yachts and cars, and of sand and sea. Conversation intermingled with the hopeful beginning, haunting progression, and chaotic climax. Dim blue and green highlights from the wall panel displays gave them tranquility, however, and the hope that things would someday be better.

And finally, as the closing notes brought the piece to an end, the pair sat in silence.

Ceril navigated the business end of the soldering iron between fine wires coupled to an old circuit board. The white hot light flared and briefly illuminated his face and the face of the servator next to him. He sighed and examined his work.

Not bad. Needs more. Possibly -

He yawned and removed the iron from the confines of the cabinet. "Needs more later. It's late as it is."

The servator, a replica of the D7-N1-X8 blinked stupidly at him. She could never replace the actual thing she was copied from. "It is late," she said.

"No shit. I just said that."

"Yes."

Ceril rubbed the skin under his optics and groaned. "Go dock, Mavis 12."

He watched the drone clone gracefully cross the workroom to join her "sisters". He'd done many things with those clones - dressing them in hula outfits or programming them to sing show tunes - but he'd never lost respect for the beings who fashioned the original Mavis.

The old cyborg checked his work a final time and walked from the workroom. His hand paused on the light switch. "Goodnight ladies."

"Good night," they replied in unison as the overhead flickered off.

The real Yoshi entered the apartment with MB. He set the rabbit down and went to go find Torii. He had a present for her and wanted to give it to her.

Akito was not done, he was content to piss off or hurt as many people as he could before beating Yoshi or, "reeducating" him, as he liked to call it. This sort of thing happened when Yoshi gained any happiness that could be extinguished by hurting him, or someone close to him. Akito and his father, Yoshi's uncle, wanted the boy to suffer for what his mother did, marrying someone he did not approve of.

Torii took Chrys's hand and started leading her through the halls in search of Yoshi. She was beyond pissed.

Meanwhile, Katya took off her blazer. "Thanks, Dora.", She said. She tossed her blazer onto the bed, then slipped off her blouse, skirt, and boots. She ran a little water over her boots, then took her bundle of clothes and tossed them in the washer.

A minute later, she dressed into an identical outfit from her large dresser full of the same outfit, straightened everything out, and walked up to Dora.

A minute later, she dressed into an identical outfit from her large dresser full of the same outfit, straightened everything out, and walked up to Dora.

Yoshi was walking down the halls and in a good mood. He was unlocking his apartment so he could put some stuff away before finding Torii. But, chances were, she would find him first

"All right, then? Come on, let's go over to Chaos. Good thing they're open pretty much anytime." Dora headed out, and waited by the door.

"Let's go.", Katya said. She followed behind Dora.

"Why do you fuck with me? Why? Thousands of years of it. Why?!" Minerva was exasperated after her long day. "Every time I turn around, you're fucking with me. I'm tired, Klaus. I'm due to die soon. The underground nightclub area was a familiar sight, no doubt, as they headed inside. Dora waved the bartender away, motioning that she'd serve them and would he please put whatever they ordered on the Service's tab.

"See anything you like?" she said, turning to Katya.

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears, and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination.
