Personification Life - IC Part VIII [open]

Akito or should I say, "Yoshi" arrived at the building from his hotel and sat in the communal sitting room whilst he laid out a strategy. He would pretend to be Yoshi but be a total jerk to anyone that addressed him and thus ruin Yoshi. But he needed to plan exactly how he would destroy Yoshi's relationship with Katya, what to say, what to do. Should he slap her? He didn't want to risk a fight because if she saw his left eye he was done for and his ruse would be up. He wondered what room number was hers.


Yoshi nodded. "you poor thing...miso?" he asked, handing the rabbit the bowl. "j-just don't eat the bowl, it's not mine." Yoshi was relaxed because this was a rabbit and not a person. Something about the animal appearance put him at ease.

MB regarded him curiously, then sniffed the bowl. Deciding it was good, he began lapping at it.

"NOT be a vigilante?"

The sisters exchanged a quick glance. Torii grinned. "Sorry, then....I probably won't go for the government job. I figure I'll help...in my own way. Papa had his...who knows? I may be well known someday."

"As for me.", Katya said, as she stood up. "I have my own plans...and money could help. Seeing Bran build his own company inspired me, but I just don't know how to work it. Maybe I could still get some of my own troops or security? A Private Security company! Maybe even a branch for one back home. It could offer a lot of money, and it would benefit the city. What do you think about that?"

[Erucia]

"Well, I just got a text from Jacob saying to come to this meeting at the 'Wilting Succubus', for a meeting thing. We could always go to that." Albert said, eating his own stew. "It has something to do with us working to defend the city from the supernatural things that seem to attack all the time."

"Well, that sounds good. Although I really don't know what good I'd do against supernatural attackers...", Ray kept licking away at his stew.

Tieria looked back up. "If they city is ever threatened by mobile suits, or giant monsters, the Celebi is always ready. I think you know where I stand." With that he got up and walked out.

[New Aksarben]

"Well, I just got a text from Jacob saying to come to this meeting at the 'Wilting Succubus', for a meeting thing. We could always go to that." Albert said, eating his own stew. "A private security company personally funded by you from retired soldiers who are no longer linked to your government, ergo if they accidentally kill an innocent the nation of Bielefeld won't interpret it as an act of war and drop orbital nukes on your nation... because we all know that Bielefeld doesn't adhere to the Geneva Conventions? Sure. Because if they're actual soldiers, I'll be the first one selling your people sunscreen and after-exposure pills."

'I'm just an orphan that became a writer and took a job writing about this place....I'm nothing special" he answered, adjusting his hair that had gotten in his eye.

"Oh, fine. Technically, I may have battled the supernatural before, but...", Ray blushed at the sudden kiss and wiped it away, focusing on finishing his breakfast. "So, I wonder what Blossom put into this."

Luce continued watching the others' reactions carefully. Bran was on the edge; the sisters seemed to be as well. Minerva, Klaus, and Yuri were discussing among themselves. Tieria was on his own, but appeared to be coming around. Volturius needed to be watched. So did the sisters.

Katya chuckled. "Eh, don't worry. No active Military personnel. Just volunteers and whatnot. I'll Maybe look into it later. Anyway, I should be heading home now...so, see you later?"

"It's been a long and weird day. I think we could all use a meal and a good sleep," Minerva replied.

She had decided to remain in the pub for a while longer. She had business with Klaus who had apparently fallen asleep at the table. At least, she assumed he was asleep. He might also be faking.

Albert shrugged. "I don't know. It is very good though!" Albert said, a smile on his face. "Also, we might want to get going. The pub is only a short distance from the building, so we can walk there."

"Well, alright then!", Ray warmly replied and stood up with a wide-eyed smile. He then placed the empty bowl within the sink and then went to grab some more appropriate clothes for an outing.

"Myself and Gretta will not be directly involved with this "defense team." We'll give support, but we can't risk orphaning our children if something goes wrong." Neil said. "We'll provide technology and medical care. But we are not walking up to an attacking abomination and attacking it." Gretta added.

"I made a vow to do no harm. If the city needs prosthetics, organs, or me to crack a computer, I'll be happy to help and get paid for it." Fortu said.

"Myself and Nevvie, are willing to be consultants and can fight. We are taking the deal." Arthur said.

"I reject it on the principal of it, and I have no reason to. And we all should be wearing Tele-Kill Alloy on our heads to keep them from...nothing because they would already know that." NVE said disappointed at his peers. They probably already knew about their invasion plans. He then thought of how Tele-Kill Alloy should protect circuits from technopaths if modified properly, he'd have to research that.

Minerva nodded at the group of raptors... and former raptors... and things that weren't really raptor but she didn't know what they were, ergo they were raptor.

"I don't think anyone should do anything they wouldn't normally be willing to do. I think we all have resources we could pull. You can hack. Perhaps if the Drones return... and they always return... we could work with you and combine our technologies. We didn't do that last time. There wasn't enough time. That's just one example."

She chuckled. "I know everyone has their own plans, and some of them dark. Don't deviate from them. But, if we're in a bind, people... just lend a hand. Do what you can, even if it means taking a moment to open a can of beans for the person who spent all day hunting down the Cthulhu-possessed vampire zombie catgirl that ate Tokyo. That said, for those who do want to do more, let's figure out who does what best, and let the city know those people are willing to fight, or track, or hunt, or hack, or spy, or whatever."

She turned back to Torii. "I don't know what the rules are. I imagine the big one is to protect innocent citizens. To not abuse our power or authority. We're not vigilantes."

"You'll never get in my head! I know you have mind reading owls! Zuul mammals! Zuul!" NVE shouted and ran for the nearest exit then kept running to the nearest supplier of aluminum foil.

"Well he said he was out. And last time anyone got a whiff of what we were up to, it didn't go well for us. Now for skills, myself and Gretta can handle R&D." Neil said. "Mad Science is a passion. and we really want to field test a couple things." Gretta added.

"Hacking." Fortu said.

"Nevvie can handle spying. She is great at stealth and breaking and entering undetected. I can solve problems and track targets through my powers of deduction and psychological profiling. Not to mention we can both hold our own in a fight." Arthur offered.

"M'kay then! Later, Minerva...sorry for being a bitch earlier."

Katya bowed turned around, and left the building. She walked the block down, back to the apartment. She quietly entered the lobby, and, feeling a bit tipsy, decided to go to the kitchen to make some coffee.

Torii stayed at the pub a bit longer, enjoying the company. She eventually slipped out, herself, and ran back to the apartment in excitement. She quickly went to her room and began looking through her old possessions.

"You'll never get in my head! I know you have mind reading owls! Zuul mammals! Zuul!" NVE shouted and ran for the nearest exit then kept running to the nearest supplier of aluminum foil.

"Well he said he was out. And last time anyone got a whiff of what we were up to, it didn't go well for us. Now for skills, myself and Gretta can handle R&D." Neil said. "Mad Science is a passion. and we really want to field test a couple things." Gretta added.

"Hacking." Fortu said.

And yes, especially if the Drones return, we could really use your intelligence, and your intelligence, in handling them. Beyond that, I have no idea what the city expects us to do. They invited Bran, Torii, Katya, Sig and Gio. These people are just regular people, except Gio, but she's not exactly some potent thing that zaps people with energy or cracks code. There has to be a reason behind that. Any guesses?"

Torii sighed and calmed down a bit. "Okay....but what about how they admitted to watching us? I'm definitely not going to forgive that."

Katya nodded. "It's creepy and downright evil."

"We watch you." There wasn't any apology in Minerva's voice, nor any threat. "Ever since we learned that the Drones could replicate people, we've taken to making sure people are okay. It sounds creepy, and it can be... we don't sit in your laundry hamper and watch you bathe, for example... but if anything were to happen to you or your sister, we'd be the first to know. We won't tolerate the Drones harming people like they did. Not again. It's wrong of them to abuse friends like that. It was wrong of them to kill Rachelle's parents. It was wrong of them to take over Bran and Fortu's bodies. So we watch. That's how we know when you're feeling down. Haven't you ever wondered how it is that we pop up just when you need someone in your corner?"

Minerva sighed. "That said, we don't provide details to anyone. We don't have anything to gain by knowing Neil's favorite color, except that a Drone replicant won't know it. You all know the exact moment D-Day happened. If you go back in time, you'd have to sit on that information and not abuse it. That's what we do. We watch. We protect. We inform you so you can take steps to protect your own nations, like the last invasion."

She looked at her teacup and shook her head. "The Chaos Space Marine you see here. His name is Volturius. He comes from a time when Mankind is at a brutal crossroads. His time period doesn't reflect what we... the cultists you know, such as Will or Hans, or Klaus and I... it doesn't reflect our pantheon's attitude agenda during our current time period. We were all humans once, and we know how bitter it is to see friends suffer and die."

I may look daemonically possessed and not in control- I've just been gifted with mutations for six hundred years in service, along with great conquests in the Thirteenth Black Crusade. The life of the betrayed is not an easy one, and a great many brothers were lost to both the indoctrination process and the eternal war itself. However, had you all been born in the fortieth millennium, your opinion would have soured and come to the conclusions I have made in life. Tipper's been the only improvement in my life for over a century. My opinion of humanity, it's liege, and humans in general, will take decades to recover from the wounds inflicted by life."

Volturius huffed while leaning back on the bench and folded a wing protectively around Tipper instinctively. He didn't take kindly to these Cultists and Daemonhosts- he found them to be 'softer' than those he was used to. He doubted they were even formed in his time period, which likely made them emotionally weaker than his 'comrades' (and he used that loosely) in the Crusade.

Albert waited for Ray near the front door, ready to go himself. "It always seems like we get there late, so we better hurry!" Albert called out to Ray, as he waited for the fox-man.

Volturius soon began to pull various memories on the subject from his memory. While most would see a brute in armor, those that knew astartes were well-aware that they were philosophers, physicists, biologists, tacticians, and warriors all rolled into one immortal demigod-made man.

Minerva slowly relaxed a bit. She hadn't realized she'd been gritting her teeth. She rubbed her jaw.

"I haven't forgotten what you said, Volturius. Bielefeld already respects Chaos. They didn't cancel their current contracts with us. There's more to this place than many people realize... then even I realized."

She leaned back in her chair and played with the bottle of ale the waitress exchanged for her hot tea. "We don't want to reveal the future. We have to remain low-key. We can't have regular cultists and other minions or space marines or tech priests running around as if we were 40 thousand years in the future. This is not the time for it. Swith created a ripple when she brought you here. She thought she was grabbing onto one of our already indoctrinated daemons when she did. The people in this time period are not accustomed to violence as we know it. It's too much of a shock to them. They aren't ready for it."

While she waited for the coffee, she walked up and gave him a quick peck on the cheek, then sat down. "Oh, and Tora and Me were summoned to the capitol building to be a defender of the state or something. We decided not to do so, and do our own things."

"W-were is this place?" Yoshi asked, looking around at there new location nervously.




"Yoshi" glared. "Oh shut up &*%$# " he snarled, mimicking Yoshi's voice perfectly.
