TV was introduced into the SRA in 1937, but it wasn't that common, until the mid 1940's.

We've had TV even before we became a country.

Televisions were brought to Renoa when it was still a colony. Many were destroyed during the revolution of 2012-13, but many were brought in after a stable government was formed. Most transmissions are from neighboring nations.

The first 'televisual radio set' was made in 1878. It was exceptionally large (at least 15ft long), and projected a colourless moving image onto a tiny and grainy screen, using a series of lenses to enhance the image. But it was used merely for comical purposes and was never considered a viable concept.

However in 1912, the first widely recognised TV was made, with a 9in screen and speakers. By 1919, TVs were appearing in the homes of the wealthy, as well as in businesses and theatres. By 1928 the first TVs were made available to the public through mass production, though they were still prohibitively expensive. It was only by 1935 that TV's became commonplace in homes.

The first television became commercially available in 1929, but they wouldn't be widspread until 1941, and by 1957 there was at least one TV in every home, by 1972 most citizens had atleast 1, maybe 2 televisions, and by 1999, most citizens had 2-3 TV's in their homes.

The price for TV's decreased over the years, allowing more to be available in a single household, as well as the increase of size of single story and multiple story houses.

New Emevia was founded long after the television was invented, and as such it has been around from the beginning.

However, only about a fifth of the population actually uses television: the rest either distrust it or are unable to afford it.

We were the ones responsible for introducing the TV on our planet. Development started in early 1917, and the first working TV set was completed in 1920. Contrary to in other places, they were generally affordable for most of the middle class, with a little bit of saving, but they were so big that no one was really interested in having one in the home, even if they were fascinating. Size was reduced over the years, and TV ownership passed 50% of households in 1925, and rose quickly from then on. Color television was first made available in 1932, and due to her obsession with technology and science, the tyrannical dictator Abigail Willard made color TV compulsory in all new televisions and broadcasts in 1949, although at the time, 85% of new TVs were color.

The television was invented long before the founding of the Empire, and has never been a popular medium. Well, televisions are fairly popular, used to play movies, video games, or as large computer screens, but television, meaning cable service, satellite service, etc. has never been popular here. Some foreign companies have tried to expand here, but they always fall flat on their faces in that pursuit, since every citizen is provided with free basic Internet access.
