How do pilots in your country view their planes?

In Wardie land it seems many pilots (especially military pilots) grow attachments to their planes, especially if they spend a lot of time with their plane, they begin to think their plane has individual characteristics and is unique to them, they give their planes pet names, which in many cases becomes the planes "name" and is the inspiration for the plane's nose art.

Many bomber and fighter pilots grow attached to their planes, in the same way a Cowboy can grow attached to his horse, I guess a war pilot's plane is what protects him, keeps him safe, and lets him contribute to the war. I guess many pilots grow attached to their planes after missions against the enemy, thrown into the midst of the enemy, a pilot's plane is what gets him back from enemy territory alive.

Planes are usually "feminine" (e.g. they are called "she", "her" etc), a pilot's plane is his girl, pilot and plane are like man and wife or father and daughter, they grow very attached, and many pilots feel quite sad if they lose their plane. A lot of pilots like to pat and talk to their planes.

indeed much like Wardie land, if you fly a plane you can get attached to her obviously, but drones you control from miles away offer little in the way of attachment, infact i and the people of Wardie land dont even consider them true "planes"
