The Communist Motherland of Meargra becomes an F.R.C. Protectorate

Today The Communist Motherland of Meargra signed into law that the nation will become the Protectorate of the F.R.C. The agreement was accepted by both leaders of the F.R.C. and Meargra and states the following.

1) Should the F.R.C. come under foreign attack, the Armed Forces of Meargra must come to the aid of Virginian Forces.

2) The F.R.C. has total control over the Armed Forces of Meargra. However, it is agreed that the Brass of the F.R.C. shall only take command of Meargran forces should the F.R.C. come under direct attack from a foreign enemy.

3) The F.R.C. shall make no breaches into the social or economic systems or policies of Meargra, and shall have no say in their stance on issues.

4) The Federal Republic Commonwealth of the City of Norfolk and The Communist Motherland of Meargra shall work together, socially, economically, and militarily to achieve superiority and friendly relations between the two nations.

The Chancellor stated today,
"Although Meargra is considered a Protectorate, the F.R.C. shall only rely on them for military aid should the mainland come under attack. I have also heard concerns of allying a Communist nation, a major shift from other policies that close relations with hostile Communist nations, I understand your concerns, however we cannot go on an anti-communist crusade. There are other nations out in the world and we must respect their views. I am hoping that this agreement will bring our two nations together and will thrust us into prosperity and the future between our honesty and respect towards each other."

F.R.C. Joins SCUTUM

Today, after a rigorous screening from officials from Anemos Major, the F.R.C. has joined the Defensive of Alliance of SCUTUM. This alliance further adds to the security of the nation with alliances with major nations such as Augmark and Charzak. With this, the F.R.C. wishes to expand its peacekeeping roles throughout the world to bring stability to hotspots and unstable regions spanning the globe.

National Anthem Officially Changed to Auld Lang Syne

Today, the Parliament overwhelmingly changed the National Anthem of the F.R.C. from variants of Dixie and Dixieland to the traditional Scottish song of Auld Lang Syne. The move came after months of petitions from citizens for a more organized and official anthem, the F.R.C. has had two unofficial anthems since its independence. The move also casts light upon the F.R.C.'s move to show themselves as a peaceful nation instead of the old nation of 1860's Confederate Virginia.
"We're trying to show the world that we aren't a savage nation, and so we have changed the anthem from the old 'lift up rifle, pike, saber' of the Dixie anthem, to the more reminiscent 'we'll take a cup of kindness yet' of Auld Lang Syne." Says Senator Allan Michaels while leaving his senate office in Richmond, Virginia. "We are hoping that by establishing this solid anthem, we can all gather and sing one anthem, as one nation, and it will strengthen the unity of our great Commonwealth."

Virginian and Mykolian history scholars debate possible outcomes in History.

Today, major history scholars and historians from the F.R.C. and Mykola debated the possible outcomes of world history regarding major events such as the foundations of the German and Austrian-Hungarian Empires, the Great War of 1914-1919, the Rise and Fall of Hitler, and World War II. Not much is known about what was said, since it was a private ordeal, however people who were there say that an atmosphere of friendliness through the love of history hung in the air and respect ruled the day. This may help open official relations with Mykola after the ruler of Mykola, Kaiser Franz Josef, abdicated his former Empire of Kopania under intense civil pressure. The F.R.C. recognized Birkaine's occupation and set up of a proxy state of former Kopania and wishes to set this behind them in the coming talks with Mykolian officials over open trade, cultural trades, and possible alliances.

South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi join F.R.C.

The Government of the F.R.C. has officially announced that the states of South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi will be joining the Federal Commonwealth as Autonomous states within the nation. The governments of all the states all confirmed the reports in statements today. This comes after many months of negotiations between the states and the F.R.C. The governments also confirmed that the armed forces of the states would assimilate into the F.R.C.'s and restructure to fit into the new command system. This almost doubles the size of the F.R.C. and opens trade routes into the Caribbean as well as provides more resources to fuel the expanding economy. We would like to personally welcome these new great states to the Commonwealth!

Cardinal Schaefer represents the City of Norfolk in The Universal Christian Church.

Today, the City of Norfolk was inducted into the Universal Christian Church with the appointment of Cardinal James Schaefer as Chancellor Cardinal to the Pope. Because of the fact the the Government of the F.R.C. can not officially endorse or hinder any certain religions, it was not able to join as a national entity. The surprising fact is that according to the last census taken on July 14, 2009, 91% consider themselves Christian of some kind, be it Catholic or Protestant, or any of the many sects. This highlights the loyalty of the Government and the Chancellor to the law set forth by our Forefathers many years ago. Since its induction, Cardinal Schaefer has been very active in the Church and has voiced his opinion on issues facing the Church daily. The Church is celebrating its first Sunday on August 23 with a mass to thank God for his good graces and blessings.

WAR!

Yesterday, the forces of Reagan States have desecrated the border between our two nations and has invaded the F.R.C.in a move of "unification". The day before, the Legitimate government headed by President Michael Bee was overthrown in a coup by the military due to the slashing of the military's budget. In the days following the rising tensions, the Reaganauts were secretly planning to invade and annex the F.R.C. into their nation, one run by William Trapton, the assumed dictator of Reagan States. The war has been slow yet steady for our nation. The enemy has taken the city of Biloxi and has made a push into central Mississippi. However, the F.R.C. has made advances in Arkansas and Missouri, both states are occupied by the Reaganauts. Earlier this morning, the Chancellor has acquired the warrant for Trapton's arrest for crimes against humanity and the breaking of International Law. The Chancellor has also guaranteed that Michael Bee will be reinstated and democracy will reign supreme in Reagan States by Christmas.
"This cowardly attack against us will be stopped by the brave men and women of our armed forces. And when it is, we will push the dastardly enemy ALL the way back to Reagangrad! We will be knocking at..no, knocking DOWN their door, Liberty and Freedom, and especially Justice will win this war. In the face of Tyranny, we must stand in its face with courage and adversity and show them that we shall not back down. The more they push into the F.R.C., the more they seal their fate." The Chancellor said in a press conference today.
The Military will not release any upcoming Operations or deployments but stated that the enemy will be left dazed by the blow.

Massive Winter Storm slams F.R.C.

A massive snow storm has left a deep blanket of snow over the nation over the past two days. The storm left 10'' of snow in the Appalachians while only leaving 8''-9'' in cities as far east as Norfolk. For young people, this is heaven, especially seeing that real snow hasn't stuck since the snow storm in 2003. Every hill and slope of the nation was covered not only by snow, but by people as well. "It's really fun, I haven't really had the chance to see snow like this,"says ten year old Harry Rettop.

It may be fun for now, but officials urge all citizens to stay off the roads as much as possible. "Right now the roads are fine, but as the snow begins to melt, it will freeze over night, and create situations of black ice." Stated Christopher Newton, Head of Emergency Response for the Hampton Roads area. "We urge that everyone not drive unless they absolutely have to."

A bit late for Christmas, the snow storm has moved out of the region and leaves a 'Winter Wonderland' that the nation more than deserves. Freezing temperatures are reported to stick around until tuesday, leaving plenty of time to go out and build that igloo or snowman.

"Piping Tattoo to be largest in history" says Foreign Relations Minister

The atmosphere will be filled with the screeching yet majestic sounds of the Massed Pipes and Drums on Monday night. Despite the heavy snow and ice, officials have stated that the show will go on.

Joining the tattoo will be a combination of over 67 regiments from the F.R.C., Scotland, England, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, the United States, and a multitude of other nations the world over, including the Virginian Symphony. "This tattoo will definitely be the biggest in history, with well over a thousand pipers and over 500 drummers, we are on our way to shattering records." Said the Foreign Relations Minister, one of the officers in charge of running the tattoo. "The pipes have a very essential role in our nation and culture since our founding, and we intend to keep it that way."

The playlist is a massive list ranging from melodies to marches and even to sagas. "Some of the songs played will be Highland, a mix song included electric guitars and fiddles composed by Phil Keaggy,The Green Hills of Tyrol, Highland Cathedral, Gael, and the Braveheart Trilogy." Said Captain McTaven of the 24th Pipes regiment from Edinburgh, Scotland. "But those aren't even a quarter of what we'll be playing at the show tomorrow."

Due to its enormous size, the show will be held at the Jeremy E. Bradwater Memorial center in Norfolk. By this time tomorrow night, the very air over the city will be filled with the majestic sounds of the pipes of the world. Four occupied states votes to join F.R.C.

Florida, Louisiana, Missouri, and Arkansas (shaded) voted to annex themselves into the F.R.C.

Today, the states of Florida, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Missouri (shaded above) have voted to join the F.R.C. instead of becoming independent states. After months of occupation after the Norfolk-Reaganaut War, state assemblies and legislatures met to debate their future. The states were left with the choice of becoming free and independent states at the end of occupation, or become autonomous states within the F.R.C. "The government of the City of Norfolk weren't very pushy or demanding," said David McGaughey, elected governor of Missouri. "It would've been very hard to start a nation from scratch," he continued, "but the people of Missouri have spoken and agree that joining with a strong nation like the City of Norfolk would be a wise choice."

What's really unusual about all this is that the states were given a choice instead of being immediately annexed. "We came to these states during the war, as liberators..we did not come to conquer." Said Chancellor Losee at a press conference earlier this morning. "By taking their right of choice of their future, you take away their very liberty, something that this nation will never do." He said.

Missouri, Arkansas, and Louisiana were taken and occupied by federal forces battling the army of William Trapton, the short lived socialist dictator established in Reagan States after a coup against President Michael Bee. After the end of the war, the people of the three states were allowed to vote for a whole new legislature and governor seat. The Governors of Missouri and Arkansas were re-elected.

Florida on the other hand was invaded and occupied after it was confirmed that President Obama had allowed Reaganaut forces to use the state to invade Georgia, and even Florida was given a choice of statehood. "The people of Florida were tired of the antics of the Obama administration and the general course of the U.S., so we decided not to fall to the whims of some crackpot regime like Cuba, and we decided to join our liberty loving brothers in the F.R.C. as an official state." Said Florida Senator Robert Cooke.

The addition of the four states to the F.R.C. allows Virginian businesses to expand to the Mississippi river area without taxes from foreign nations. With the addition of Florida and Louisiana, the Federal military will be able to expand its power and reach over the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean. And with the hunger and strife going on in Tobago and Haiti due to military dictatorships, it is likely that deployments to the new states will start very soon.

Nazi SS officer tried in F.R.C. court

SS Major Hanz Friedricks Himmelstock was found guilty on 523 counts of murder in the 2nd degree and 36 counts of murder in the 1st degree, and other crimes against humanity by a military tribunal today. The tribunal, made up of officers from Great Britain, France, the United States, the F.R.C., Russia, Belarus, and Poland, finally announced the verdict after months of research and investigation.

Himmelstock was an SS general in charge of an area in eastern Poland and later in modern day Belarus. In 1944, he was transferred to France, where he plundered and destroyed villages and murdered its inhabitants. He also served in the infamous Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp.

The tribunal sentenced the frail 85 year old Himmelstock to 156 years to a federal prison in the F.R.C.. Radical Jewish organizations had called for the executing of Himmelstock, however the tribunal ruled capital punishment out entirely. Himmelstock will live the rest of his life behind bars in a prison in rural Maryland.

Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp was a mass murder camp where "inferiors" were killed. Groups such as Jews, Gypsies, homosexuals, Communists, and others were deported to Auschwitz-Birkenau and most did not return. It is estimated that nearly 1.6 million people were murdered there, including 1.44 million Jews and 146,000 Catholic Poles, along with 23,000 Roma and Sinti (Gypsies). The camp lives on as a reminder to the brutality and ignorance shown by few, and felt by many. To this day, the gut wrenching sign stating, "Arbeit Macht Frei" or 'Work Makes you Free', hangs over the entrance like an ominous dark cloud.

Rising number of female police officers draws support and suspicion

Its a chilly and wet day in Richmond, Virginia. The rain has ceased to fall, but sprinkles continued to drizzle from the hazy and gray clouds above. But that did not stop Private Carmen Gomez from stepping onto the stage to become one of the select few that keep every one of us safe at night.

Today Private Gomez received her badge, officially becoming a Virginian State Trooper. But Gomez is only part of a larger force at work. In recent months, the amount of female officers on the streets have spiked. Three months ago, the overall average of graduation statistics consisted of 94% male, 6% female officers. Last month, 24% of officers on the streets were female, a massive spike of 18%.

"It really shows that women play a major and vital role in our society." Said Captain Jeff Edwards of the Alexandria Police Department. The spike has also drawn support and applause from female activist groups and even the Federal Government. "It's wonderful that women are becoming more active in the nation,"said the Chancellor today. "Women are a deciding factor of our nation and without their contributions the nation wouldn't be where it is today," he continued.

But the surge has also drawn skepticism from fairness groups and anti-woman suffrage groups. "I find it great that women are helping to protect and serve, but they have a tendency to support another female." said Timothy Giffen, President of People for Equal and Fair Justice in Law Enforcement. "If a female officer responds to a domestic disturbance, who's to say she won't be more lenient on the female citizen just because she's a woman?" He continued.

Whether you like it or not, women are becoming an increasing workforce in our economy and nation. Recent spikes have also occurred in the business and banking sector, the military, and now law enforcement. And as a reporter, I think I can finally say, 'its about time'. We should be welcoming these women into society and demand they be treated no different than any other man of any race or creed.

Attack on Federal troops caught on video

A video showing a bloody attack on Federal forces stationed in northern Cyrodil was released by the Ministry of Defense today. The video, taken by an unknown soldier, shows Federal Marines firing on the attackers and other graphic scenes of the battle.

The ministry also stated the battle took place at 1:34PM local time with a heavy mortar bombardment. The bombardment was followed by a massive attack by terrorist infantry. "They had surrounded the base, snipers were on the hills and it was really difficult to spot them." Said SST. Michael Holtz.

After about two hours of heavy fighting in and around the base, the area was finally cleared with the help of attack helicopters and ground attack aircraft stationed 15 miles away. 34 soldiers were killed in the attack. The Ministry of Defense has stated it will not release the names of those killed until the families had been informed and approve of the release.

The Chancellor has condemned the attack and has promised to find those responsible and commit more forces to the fight against the insurgents in Cyrodil. The government of Cyrodil has been under attack from these same insurgent forces for months and has requested the F.R.C. to assist them.

The F.R.C. occupied western Cyrodil after the regime in Cyrodil had attacked Comaack, an ally of the Federal Republic. The nation was later invaded by a coalition of Comaack, the F.R.C., Birkaine, and others. The Federal Republic of Cyrodil was established in the F.R.C.'s sector of occupation and was assisted by the F.R.C. in developing its economy and infrastructure.

Congress changes National Anthem after massive referendum

Parliament changed the National Anthem to Highland Cathedral on Tuesday.

Today, Congress voted 75 to 20 with 5 abstaining in favor of changing the National Anthem of the F.R.C. from 'Auld Lang Syne' to 'Virginia's Call'. The citizens of the F.R.C. participated in a nation wide referendum to change the anthem after it was claimed that Auld Lang Syne did not represent the nation well enough.

The push for a reform of the anthem was backed mainly to the Nationalists with some support from the Conservatives. "We need an anthem that is strong and displays our love for our country and tradition, hence the reference to Scotia (Scotland). We needed one that can live in the hearts and minds of Virginians for a very long time." Stated Representative Bobby Rowe (Nationalist from Tennessee).

"Auld Lang Syne is a song about remembering the old times and bringing in the new, however many believe that it did not contain any patriotic wording and not even a mention of the nation." Said Senator Alan Gray (Independent from West Virginia). However, the general feeling of the anthem is not much different. Virginia's Call is best performed on the bagpipes, but can still be played majestically on just about any other instrument. The song uses the melody from 'Highland Cathedral' another piping song created in Germany. The new lyrics have been released by the Government this morning after the voting.

Forces deployed to Cyrodil, War on Terrorism announced by Chancellor

Every branch was deployed to Cyrodil to assist in combating terrorism on Wednesday.

Today, the Chancellor announced that the F.R.C. was in a state of war. "No longer can we sit idly by while our friends and allies come under attack by these radical elements in the East." The Chancellor said to both houses of Congress today. According to experts, this ends the short "Pax Norfolkana". "Since the war with Reagan States ended in August, our nation's GDP and economy as a whole has risen to new heights, our military has gained the experience of war, and we have friendly relations with most major nations on the earth, but this new offensive being led by the Chancellor has a chance to end all of that." Said Prof. Alfred Williamheim of Norfolk State University.

The branches of the Federal Military began deployment on Wednesday, with most already landed and mobilized by today. Meanwhile, the government has reported that the Federal Air Force has run 836 hostile sorties over the tribal regions of Cyrodil to try and dampen the militant resistant and possibly take out any major figures.

The government of Cyrodil has reported that they have given permission and are cooperating with the F.R.C. to eliminate the terrorist threat and establish justice and stability in Cyrodil.

The deployments included 10,000 Marines and Army troops including logistics, The Iwo Jima, Galveston and 6th Strike Groups of the Navy, and the 1st, 52nd, 626th, and 501st squadrons of the Air Force.

The Chancellor has also promised a short and concise mission to track down those who attacked the Virginian military base and to 'defeat the terrorists in their own backyards'.

"Unchecked Nationalism leading to Fascist State in F.R.C." Says Canadian minister

Minister Alexandria with a diplomat from India, flanked by the Federal Honor Guard, established under a bill created and passed by the Nationalist Party.

Canadian Minister Albert Wilkonberg recently made the statement that said the F.R.C. was becoming a Fascist state. The statement was made after a press conference on foreign relations.Wilkonberg was unaware that the microphone he was using was still on and recording. "The thing about the F.R.C. is that they don't put limits on their levels of Nationalism, their unchecked nationalism is leading the nation down a path to Nationalism that we've seen many times throughout history." He said. "Their nationalist party gets stronger and stronger every month as they play on the fears and hopes of the civilian populace, they teach their children that its all about 'God and Country' and nobody else." He continued.

But is this true? Or just the personal opinions of a low level figure in a foreign government?

Nationalism is something that is praised in the F.R.C., no one can deny that. And in recent months, the Nationalist Party of Norfolk has gained alot of support, mostly from Independents and former Conservatives. And with their new power, they have passed legislation that, according to some, has shadowed that of Nazi Germany.

Just last year, the Nationalists created a bill that created the Federal Honor Guard division. The division was tasked with protecting all senior members of the government and military, including foreign dignitaries and diplomats. The problem came with the Nationalists uniform design. The gray design looks like that used by the SS during the Nazi regime, but party members deny that the SS or the Nazi's have anything to do with the design. "We picked the uniform because it signifies our culture and background, it also shows our display of strength and order." said Senator Robert Jerrer (N-GA).

But with the massive amounts of both social, economic, and political freedoms, is the F.R.C. really moving towards Fascism? This journalist thinks no. But thanks to laws established by our great founding fathers established in the republic, not a reich, we're all allowed to think and say what we want. If it's anyone moving towards Fascism, its the West as a whole itself. Only through the regulation of the populace can Fascism take hold, and looking at the F.R.C., Fascism is losing.

Increase in funds to schools increase passing rates in F.R.C.

The Class of '10 celebrates at Virginian University after graduating.

One thing that the F.R.C. can be really proud of is it's students and teachers that attend the various public and private schools around the nation. In recent months, the Federal Government has increased the Education budget by a walloping 27% over a time period of two months. "It's definitely an investment that the F.R.C. can always afford to pay for." Said Minister of Education Edward Jakob.

Before the massive increase in funds, the education system in the nation was a broken down system with standards that lagged behind even third world nations and a passing rate of only 34%. Also before the increase, the literacy rate in the nation was only about 21%. "We were in a really terrible shape, the education was being seriously abused by political corruption and special interest groups directing the money away from education and to other things for their own personal ambitions." Said Minister of Internal Affairs Alex Bateman.

After months of petitioning and orders from the Chancellor to the then Parliament (which is now Congress), multiple federal probes into corruption, which resulted in the arrest of 34 politicians, and the general direction of the education system, Parliament directed funds from Health Care, Defense, and Law & Order to the Education system.

Since the increase, passing rates have jumped from 34% to 93%, and the literacy rate has jumped from 21% to 98%. "The thing we have to realize is that the money isn't doing the teaching, it just provides the tools, but it is our wonderful teachers and educational staff that teach the subjects with amazing skill, combined with an eager youth willing to learn, it has become a miracle for us." Said President James Thornton, President of The University of the Republic in Washington, D.C.

But the plan has come under fire from leftists parties after it was discovered that federal funds would also be provided to private and religious schools, just not on the same scale as aid to public schools. The makers of the plans say that funds would only go to private and religious schools if they ask for it, and that the funds would not be denied based on religion. Every major denominational religion with schools in the F.R.C. has received aid of some kind from the Government in the last few months.

Battle Against Terrorist Groups in Cyrodil Rages On

Two soldiers of the 2nd Mountain Division overlook the Haleigh Valley to track enemy movements.

Today, 26 militant terrorists were killed by Federal troops in West Cyrodil. The news is not only a huge victory for the F.R.C. and West Cyrodil, but also a wake up call. "It's kind of sad, yet understandable, that we have almost forgotten that our boys in uniform are still overseas fighting to make this world a safer world." Said Alan Wilmer, the head of the group Virginians for the Military, a group created to keep the soldiers deployed overseas in our everyday hearts and minds.

Troops have been deployed in Cyrodil since the fall of the Empire of Cyrodil, the regime that attacked the F.R.C.'s ally, Comaack. The regime also murdered its own civilians on a massive scale and used nuclear weapons against civilian targets.

During the occupation by the five different powers involved, the F.R.C. established a democratic federal republic and immediately held elections three weeks after the official end of the war. West Cyrodil is only one of five to hold democratic elections or not be absorbed by the occupying power.

The F.R.C. and Cyrodil has been working very closely to combat the terrorists in Cyrodil after the Cyrodil Mujahideen launched an attack on a Federal base in northern West Cyrodil, killing 34 federal troops and 68 Cyrodilian soldiers. 15 Virginians have been killed since the Chancellor announced a "war on terror" on February 14th.

Federal forces eliminate major Communist separatist group in West Virginia.

Three soldiers of the 5th Mountain Battalion provide support for FRC forces during the assault.

This morning Federal forces assaulted the suspected compound headquarters belonging to the major radical hard-liner Communist separatist group United Socialist Front of Virginia, or USFV according to the Ministry of Domestic Affairs.

The group has committed acts of crime and terror against the government and population of the F.R.C. since its founding. "After years of undercover work and surveillance, we were finally able to gather enough evidence and information to begin an assault on the heavily fortified compound." Said Lt. Col. Edward Smith, the second-in-command of the operation.

The group has adopted a very radical stance, from calling for the violent overthrow of the democratic government to threats of terror against civilians. Even the F.R.C.'s own Socialist Party condemned the group and labeled them as "dangerous to the people, the worker, democracy, and even the goal of Socialism that these terrorists claim to support".

The group, which has adopted the Coat of Arms of the now defunct KGB, began to feel the pressure as Federal Air Force attack aircraft ran sorties against the compound, destroying much of the group's weapons caches. The compound was an old abandoned American army base just 7 miles within the border of West Virginia with Virginia.

Due to the tight constraints of the mountainous area, the government came to the conclusion that the base would have to be bombarded before any ground forces could be sent in. In doing so, mortar and heavy artillery teams fired for 30 minutes against the concrete structures.

At 8 A.M. EST, ground troops led by the Marine 23rd Infantry, the 1st Mountain Division, and the West Virginia National Guard moved against the base. By 12 P.M. EST, the base was secure with 16 Federal deaths.

At 3 P.M. EST today, the government released the final statistics for the assault. "The mission was an overall success, the USFV was eliminated with 254 killed and 67 captured." Said Major General Alfred Wilkerson, the leading officer of the operation.

"This is a major victory for not only the freedom loving people of the F.R.C., but for democracy as a whole. With out war on terror abroad in Cyrodil still ongoing, we have defeated terror in our own backyards. Today, the people of the F.R.C. can live in peace without fear of terrorism from this, or any other group again." Said the Chancellor at a press conference just minutes ago.

Federal Marine Boot Camp Classified As Hardest in Western Hemisphere

Two recruits navigate through muddy trenches with real barbed wire just inches from their heads.

At recent military conference of military powers in the Western Hemisphere, there was one thing all the delegates present could agree on, the Marine Boot Camp in the F.R.C. is the most grueling process in the West. But why does this particular training stand out the most? Many might say because it just demands more. Many others might say because of the archaic rules used to train new recruits. But a proud few would say, because this is what it takes.

The Marine Corps training is the most physically and mentally demanding training out of all the military training in all branches. Recruits are stripped down to nothing and rebuilt as Marines. Based on the old American model, the F.R.C. retains the core values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment in the Marine Corps.

The journey begins at when the new recruits arrive at training facility near midnight in Parris Island, South Carolina. As the bus pulls into the drive-way, a Drill Instructor comes aboard and with a clear, stern yell, tells everybody to, "Get off my fuckin' bus now!" As the recruits scramble off the bus, quickly try to find a set of yellow footprints to stand on, all while being screamed at and followed by angry, fear hungry Drill Instructors.



The weary Marines go through hell and back for the next 24 hours before even being allowed to lay down and sleep. Over a period of 16 weeks, the recruits will endure the transition from civilian into Federal Marine. Physically and mentally being transformed into new men and women, the recruits will then to start appearing as Marines, becoming more familiar with marching orders, formations, and the works.

By week 8, the recruits will get their hands on either a G36 or M16A2 service rifles. During that week, the recruits will become familiar with the rifles. They will learn how to clean them, disassemble and reassemble, and the general mechanics, and firing positions. In week 9, the recruits will fire off their first rounds.

But when the recruits are not learning weapons, FMC history or customs, or anything else in the classroom or barracks, the recruits are doing PT. Physical Training is again, the most visited element in FMC boot camp.


And during week 16, the recruits must pass the hardest test in the Marine Corps. A 72 hour event that puts everything the recruits have learned to the test and then some. If they come out of the test, they are awarded their Eagle, Globe, and Anchor badges, and officially become, Federal Marines.

Soldiers by day, players by night; City of Norfolk enters international soccer league with Armed Forces team

The City of Norfolk has made its second venture into international sports this week when it officially entered the Newivory Soccer League. The team leading the way for the City of Norfolk is comprised by FC NAS Norfolk. For those of you not proficient in soccer or military lingo, the team name is spelled out like Football Club Naval Air Station Norfolk. The team, is made up of the best soccer players in the armed forces. Marines, Soldiers, Sailors, and airmen all come together to bring home the win for the City of Norfolk. "It's really a great opportunity to be able to be able to go and play in all of these nations," said Staff Sergeant Mark Lilam, a midfielder from the Marine Corps.

The first game of the season is hosted by FC NAS Norfolk this Friday against the Nepal Finishers at Armed Forces Stadium. The team from Great Nepal has been seen as an enemy to overcome FC NAS Norfolk. The City of Norfolk has condemned the nation of Great Nepal for its actions overseas and its domestic policies, but sets aside these differences for the sake of sportsmanship. "This league is more than just a tournament, it's a diplomatic mission to the other nations as each team is a representative of their respective nations." Said Foreign Minister Ahmasi O'Daniels. Despite the views about Great Nepal, security has been guaranteed to the visiting team.

The last time the City of Norfolk participated in an international sports league, the organization was terminated due to lack of funding and civil unrest in participating nations, thus cutting the rather victorious Norfolk team from the championship.

Major terrorist leader captured alive in West Cyrodil

Today, a combined force of Virginian Marines and Cyrodilian National Army divisions assaulted a terrorist fortress in southeast West Cyrodil, apprehending Machmoud Al-Zaqari in the process. Al-Zaqari is believed to be the number two man in the Cyrodil Mujahadeen, which is the organization carrying out attacks against Virginian and Cyrodil government forces.

The fortress was an ancient castle that was transformed into a walled compound with bunkers, hidden tunnels, and booby traps. The castle, being built on the side of a small mountain, posed challenges to coalition forces and the surrounding area. The assault is considered a successful and a major blow to the Mujahadeen as the coalition had 693 confirmed killed combatants, 94 injured, and 215 captured combatants.

The former Empire of Cyrodil was broken into five divisions between the occupying forces that made up the Coalition with the former nation of Comaack. The City of Norfolk established the Federal Republic of West Cyrodil. Since the founding of the nation, terrorist forces have waged war against both the City of Norfolk and the government of West Cyrodil. The City of Norfolk have lost 834 troops since the end of the war, and the start of the conflict against the Mujahadeen.

Commandant and Master Chief speak to Marines and sailors about suicide

Marine Commandant James P. Early speaks about suicide prevention

Marine Commandant James P. Early and Navy Master Chief Edward K. Payan spoke to Marines and sailors about suicide and suicide prevention at a counter suicide exposition coordinated by the two branches during the week after a report showed an increase in service suicide.

"Suicide is the worst solution to any problem," said Early to those present, "it doesn't solve anything, it just makes things worse."

Rank and pay grade was disregarded at the town-hall style expo. The two branch heads spoke to Marines and sailors in a way that was respectful and sincere. "It wasn't one of those events where the CO talks and nobody listens, we didn't say 'yes sir, no sir', it was like talking to my family." Said Petty Officer Karlen.

"The military is like a family, it's a group made up of brotherhood and camaraderie. We may have our branch rivalries, but I guarantee you this, any Marine, soldier, airman, or sailor would gladly give his or her life so yours would continue. We're always here for each other, for anything." Said Payan.

A monthly report released this month showed a 8% percent increase in suicide in the services. Also included in the report was a poll that showed that of the twenty thousand servicemen and women polled, 13% had considered suicide, an increase of 5% from last month. 84% of those that had considered suicide said a friend, family member, or fellow service member stopped them from attempting suicide.

4% of those polled had attempted suicide, but either were saved, didn't succeed, or stopped in the process.

"Life is a gift, it's not a gift you can wrap and put under a tree, you can't put a bow on it, its more precious than any diamond, more colorful than a ruby, more valuable than any amount of money. You only have one life, live it to the fullest." Said Early.

Annexation of Reagan States becomes official.

President Michael Bee of Reagan States and Chancellor Kyle Losee of the City of Norfolk signed papers today officially annexing Reagan States into the City of Norfolk. This comes after months of negotiations between the two leaders over promises made by the City of Norfolk in the case of annexation. "From this time on, I hereby resign and close the seat of President of Reagan States, and fully anticipate our entry into the Federal Republic." Said former President Bee.

"As we did in other cases of annexation, we distributed a referendum on annexation within Reagan States during the occupation and found that 4/5 Reaganauts supported annexation into the City of Norfolk. One state voted against, and they have been granted independence from both Reagan States and the City of Norfolk. We have however, signed a free trade, an open entry, and a mutual defense agreement with the state." Stated Chancellor Losee at the press conference following the signing.

The City of Norfolk occupied Reagan States after a political coup tried to topple President Bee for the second time. Many remember the first coup by William Trapton that lead to war with the City of Norfolk. This time, as political opponents and paramilitary groups surrounded the Presidential Mansion, President Bee invited Federal Forces into Reagan States and to occupy the nation. Within days of occupation, President Bee suggested that the City of Norfolk annex Reagan States.
