The first ever home television set made its maiden appearance on Paparian soil.The British Murphy black and white 405-line Television receiver 1951 (pic), was brought over by wealthy Paparian businessman,Jack Wilkinson who had purchased it in England for £200 (now today worth about £5000).

Unfortunately,for the next five years Wilkinson's television set would mainly serve as a decorator item as there were no TV stations broadcasting in Paparian.It was only in 1959 that the television would get to serve its purpose when the State-run Paparian Broadcasting Service began its operation.The first and only television show aired was the local news (duration 15 minutes).

On this day in 1903 a famous diplomat ( Howard green ) had a heart attack in his office. His assitent thought he was choking on the beef he was eating and tried to give him the heimlich maneuver, inexplicably giving him life agian. Howard lived for 7 more years before dying of a stroke.
