About
Welcome to Naybra International Airport (NIA), located off the shore of Naybra’s capital city Naybra City. We pride ourselves in having a modern and relaxing airport, fit for the traveler’s needs. WIoN Inc.'s WeBuild built this airport in the year of 2013 to help establish and strengthen Naybra’s international relations with foreign nations and reconstruct Naybra’s aging airport infrastructure with a new 21st Century airport. After months of construction, Naybra now has an airport that will last for generations and continue to live up to its motto. Once again, welcome to NIA, the "Hub without the Hubbub."-snip-
Terminals
NIA is a special airport, utilizing the latest designs in airport technology. To make space for the ever growing capital city of Naybra, NIA is on the water. Tethered to the bottom of the river, the design is connected to the land, and other Terminals, by underwater subways. Small boats and ferries also shuttle passengers around.
The airport is split into 6 distinct terminals. Each one is categorized for a specific purpose. Terminal 1 services domestic flights in Naybra. The second terminal, Terminal 2 is for regional flights from fellow nations of the Panessos and nations from Sunalaya. Terminal 3 and Terminal 4 specializes in international flights, while Terminal 5 is for the sole use of the Naybran Air-Force. The new Terminal 6 is for cargo-airlines only.
Each terminal has the capabilities of landing airplanes, helicopters, and airships. Terminals also have shipping centers, hangers, and other maintenance facilities to keep airplanes fully operational. These terminals create a star airport in the water. Each terminal uses energy-efficient lighting. There are five buildings, located on the mainland, on the different sides of the airport for the use of shuttling commuters to and from the airport terminals in the river.
During the day, NIA is lit from the windows that line the roof of the building. At night, tidal and wave power keeps NIA functional. Rain water is collected and stored for later use in tanks. This water is cleaned and used in the fountains, toilets, and for watering the plants. Geo-thermal well system heats the mainland buildings during Naybra’s winter and cools it during the hot summers with solar-power being its main form of energy. NIA has a net-energy emissions rate of zero including the renewable solar-power, energy collected from the waves and tides, and conservative use of electricity.-snip-
Security

At NIA, we pride ourselves in keeping the daily commuter safe with new state-of-the-art security equipment. Security points are located before the commuter gets on the subway to travel to there designated terminal at the buildings on the mainland. Commuters first place all their luggage and handbags on the converter belts to be scanned. They then enter the BodyScanner and position themselves like a scarecrow. Once the scan is complete, there will be a ding and they proceed to a metal detector. When they have passed through that, they pick up their luggage, and head to their gate. Average wait-time is 10 minutes. For those passengers that are in a rush, there are also scanning Kiosk, which features scanning of shoes for explosives and weapons and finger sampling for traces of explosives. Bags can also be scanned in this machine. A wait time for a Scanning Kiosk averages around 5 minutes, though security may detain a passenger for suspicion.-snip-

Baby Room-snip-
At NIA, we ease the stress of travelling with young children, with our convenient Baby Care Room. Here, you'll find the privacy to attend to your baby. Each room includes features like easy stroller access, clearly marked displays, clean and orderly rooms, food preparation areas, napping areas, changing counters, hot water dispensers, and toddler toilets. There are five Baby Care Rooms per Sub-Terminal.
Baggage Claim-snip-
One of the most annoying things about airports is Baggage Claim. These hectic, crowded rooms can cause passengers to loose or misplace their luggage. Not at our airport. NIA features Baggage Claim Carousels that work efficiently and effectively. Baggage is quickly processed to these carousels, however each baggage undergoes customs and border security procedures and may be confiscated for security reasons. As a general rule, the following items will not be placed on the carousel, but can be picked-up at the "Special Items" Belt or the Customer Service Desk:

We know there are lots of questions when traveling to and from destinations, which is why NIA sports a Customer Service Desk. Our desk can answer any questions you have, ranging from Boarding Passes, Lost Baggage, Flight Changes, and Rebooking. The desk can also assist with Transportation, Tour Booking, Flight Information, Special Needs (Disabilities) and more. Our friendly staff will assist and help you in any way they can. We know that some travelers have problems getting around. Whether that be a physical or mental disability, we'll help you with whatever you need. Our dedicated will provide a wheelchair and chauffeur services and will get you to your flight on time. Our staff will help you with your baggage, through security, and even boarding the plane. Lounges
NIA knows that flying can be exhausting and tiring. When the engineers constructed the Lounges, they created a haven for that tired businessman to sit down and enjoy waiting for the next flight. All passenger airlines will receive a lounge in their designated terminal. However, airlines can customize the terminal to their liking if they so choose.-snip-

Baggage Carts
Baggage carts are used for the transportation of luggage, mail, cargo and other materials between the aircraft and the terminals. Carts are fitted with a brake system which blocks the wheels from moving when the connecting rod is not attached to a tug. NIA's carts are completely enclosed except for the sides which use recycled-plastic curtains to protect items from weather.
Tugs
The tugs at NIA have several purposes and represent the essential part of NIA's ground support services. They are used to move any equipment that can not move itself and taxi airplanes towards and away from the gate.
Potable-Water Trucks
Potable water trucks are special vehicles that fill up drinking water tanks in aircraft. The water is recycled rainwater filtered and protected from the elements while being stored on the vehicle. A pump in the vehicle assists in moving the water from the truck to the aircraft.
Lavatory Service Vehicles
Lavatory service vehicles empty and refill lavatories on-board aircraft. Waste is stored in tanks on the aircraft until these vehicles can empty them and get rid of the waste.
Catering Vehicle
Catering vehicles aid in the unloading of unused food and drink from the aircraft, and the loading of fresh food and drinks for passengers and crew. Meals are prepared mostly on the ground in order to minimize the amount of preparation (apart from chilling or reheating) required in the air. The body is made of insulated panels and is capable of maintaining temperatures of 0 degrees by means of refrigeration unit.
Conveyor-Belt Loaders
Conveyor-belt loaders are vehicles with movable belts for unloading and loading of baggage and cargo of aircraft. A conveyor-belt loader is positioned to the door sill of an aircraft hold (baggage compartment) for the operation.
Passenger Boarding Stairs
Passenger boarding stairs, provide a mobile means to traverse between aircraft doors and the ground in the case that passengers can not embark or offload through a terminal.-snip-
Eco-Friendliness
NIA was built with the environment in-mind. Below are some examples of Naybra International Airport's methods of becoming more eco-friendly and conservation minded.
- The airport is powered by small wind turbines, solar panels and uses wave and tide power to utilize its LED lighting.
- The Gates are outfitted with aircraft plug-in power options so that airplanes don't have to run the auxiliary power units as much while located at the gate.
- Runway and roads are made from environmentally-friendly asphalt mix that reduced CO2 emissions drastically and saved fuel and energy during construction.
- All airport vehicles are Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles and charging stations for electric vehicles are located at each terminal and around the airport.
- In addition to recycling the usual paper, plastic bottles and aluminum, NIA recycles over 20 types of materials, including restaurant grease, organics, aircraft deicing fluid, glass, and demolition materials.
- Rain water is used for toilet flushing.
- Inside the terminals are “Hydration Stations.” Passengers can fill up their own cups and water bottles with purified rain water to reduce the use of plastic water bottles.
- NIA offers a fee reduction to taxicab, shuttle bus, and storefront companies that choose to use hybrid vehicles.
- NIA has a "Food Donation Program" where unused, prepackaged food is given to area food banks.
- Airport management encourages and expects food vendors to use organic and sustainable ingredients, biodegradable tableware and compostable cups.
- Due to the location of the airport, the surrounding river aids a lot in the reduction of noise pollution.
- NIA offers the Eco-Challenge™ for storefronts. This program is rewards-based, where electronic trash monitoring devices charge retailers for trash receptacle usage, and recycling is free. This program is optional.
- NIA also offers the Noise-Pollution Program™ for airplanes to help reduce the amount of noise pollution. This program is reward-based, and charges airliners fees for aircraft noise, which are based on aircraft type or category. NIA utilizes a detailed noise mapping and measurement system. This program is optional.
