I understand that young Stanley Matthews can play a real bobby dazzler when he is of a mind to.

Jackie Milburn.
The kind of middle-class mentality which actuates both those responsible for strategy and government has little knowledge of the new psychology and organizing ability of the totalitarian States. The forces we are fighting are governed neither by the old strategy nor follow the old tactics.

The people you mentioned all play soccer (an anti-sport), not football.

The greatest football player ever (and my favorite) is Peyton Manning, of course.

I'm going to have to go with Brett Favre. Even though he did tarnish his legacy a bit with the whole 'I'm retired, no wait, I'm not, actually' drama, he's still one of the best, if not THE best QB in football today.

Although Tom Brady was damn good, as well, before he got jacked up.

I was talking about football too. Real football, where the games never end in a tie. How're you going to have a game that ends in a tie? That's just stupid.

Can the admins rename the thread title to "Your favourite soccer player" then. Create an another thread if you want to argue which sport is best.

I think the best player in the world right now is Messi. He just has it all, and i'd be surprised if anyone else would win FIFA Player of the Year next year.

On this forum(as opposed to the old one), you can edit your own thread titles. There's no need to argue which is better, though, it's completely obvious.

America had to invent a game they could win at

Step forward "Football", where only one guy in the team actually kicks the ball, clever

The greatest "Soccer" player in my opinion was either Kenny Dalglish or Jimmy Johnstone :)

American football lasts too long without enough happening to be interesting. As an excuse to get your wife to fuck off for a couple of hours while you drink with yer pals, am sure it's fine, but as a sport it's not as strong as all that.

I disagree, people score alot more often, and you dont sit through 2 hours or more of game for a tie,

Both are legitimate sports, Soccer can get pretty hardcore too, I just dont find it that interesting to watch...

What is this issue with draws?

Seriously, I've never understood it.
