Fed up with image links

Postby CATACOM » Thu Mar 28, 2013 10:58 pm

I, personally, am sick of having to find a correctly dimensioned picture on the net just to find the one you need, and even more irritated by having to upload my own picture, correctly dimensioned, to the right site to get it from (I'm trying right now, no idea how). It's time-consiming and pointless. Personally, I think that this site and forum posts wiuld run much faster if you couls upload pictures from your oersonal device onto the site. All in favor?

4=Surveillance required

No. Personally, I like the fact that I can come to these forums and be able to read the content of them without having the server be bogged down trying to load pictures that, in most cases, add nothing of value to a discussion or role-play, other than "Ooooooh, pretty pictures!!!". THAT is time-consuming and pointless.

And it's really not that hard to upload a picture to a hosting site, such as Photobucket, and link it if you are so determined to have a picture in a post.

Some people don't like a massive image plastered over their screen so that they can't see anything else, nor does the forum.

Big pictures are more of a drag to load than smaller ones.

This as well. There was a discussion on that particular subject some time ago. It's worth a read over.

Offering to pay the hosting and increased bandwidth costs?
Now the stars they are all angled wrong,
And the sun and the moon refuse to burn.
But I remember a message,
In a demon's hand:
"Dread the passage of Jesus, for he does not return."

-Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, "Time Jesum Transeuntum Et Non Riverentum"
