The only problem I have with hydrogen is it require's either electricity or methane to produce, so I don't see it solving very many problems. I think electric might be better.

Cosmic rays? Most of those are blocked out by Earth's atmosphere and magnetic fields, and good thing too. They are deadly as hell because they are so energetic.

Unless you plan on combusting the hydrogen (which is dumb on so many levels) the same dangers posed by crashed electric cars will be present in hydrogen cars. There is still an electric transmission and most likely a battery pack.

Why is combusting hydrogen dumb? I am assuming you mean using it as we use gasoline, in an internal combustion engine. That produces water vapor for exhaust. In fact, the only downside I can think of is a lack of energy density in hydrogen fuel.

Because it's a waste of a very expensive product when you could very well double the energy efficiency of the system by using it in a fuel cell instead.

Requires sourcing the carbon and oxygen, bonding, etc etc. Tougher tanks for the stuff is my preference. Or carbon nanotube batteries would work too, I guess.

I hope you're joking, but in case not - because we only didn't care before because we didn't know the full consequences of our actions. Now, we do. It's like why various medical treatments that had some positive impact were ditched - the negative impact was discovered to be rather large as opposed to nonexistent.
