Your Nation's most daring Spec Op?

Postby New Phyrreus » Thu Mar 07, 2013 9:18 am

New Phyrrean SPECTRE (SPECial Tactical Response and Emergency) forces operating from the carrier Arcturus in mid were met with the news of the abduction of a Phyrrean Senator, who had been visiting a Ostiri, a nation currently on the brink of civil unrest. Upon his departure, 30 heavily armed militants seized his Boeing 727 on the runway, with himself and his cabinet currently on board. After a brief firefight, a militant was wounded, whilst two guards and a flight attendant were killed. The plane then took off, on an uncharted course.

A and B squadrons, 14th SPECTRE battalion, mounted stealh-enhanced tilt-rotor aircraft and intercepted the aircraft several hours later. They had received little briefing, and it was a highly risky operation, where even the most optimistic military forecasts showed a complete death toll. Rappeling from the hangar doors of their aircraft, magnetic clamps were attached to the aircraft, an EAW (Electro-active worm) was attached, allowing FACs to assume a temporary hold of the plane's avionics. At 20,000 ft, with HALO gear attached, the team of 24 men boarded the aircraft through a hole cut into the cargo hold. Clearing through a rapidly de pressurizing plane, all militants were accounted as dead, and two operatives wounded. However the senator and her team were landed safely at a Phyrrean air base.

Our most daring SpecOp? Oh, I guess that was the in- and exfiltration of a certain high-security military compound during some of our 'never happened' skirmishes, carried out by just two Squads of our Special Forces division.

A recent operation that might be considered daring was the "baptism of fire" for the new Raiding Force, also known as Romeo Foxtrot.

An airliner had been highjacked and the passengers were being held hostage at an airport in a nation whose name has not yet been revealed. Members of Raiding Force flew to the airport by a roundabout route, refuelling on the way. Landing on a remote darkened runway, their Hercules aircraft unloaded jeeps which raced to the building where the hostages were being held. Stun grenades were used to disable the hijackers, the hostages were freed and loaded on the aircraft. (Reports that more than a hundred stun grenades were used may be exaggerated but one of the hostages later stated that, "We were all pretty darn stunned.")

Returning to Fatatatutti, the aircraft were short of fuel and repeatedly radioed, "Romeo Foxtrot, Romeo Foxtrot, Romeo Foxtrot...", a prearranged signal to warn all airports to clear their runways. All of the hostages were returned safely, though there were a few minor injuries. Two members of Raiding Force were wounded, though not severely.

The most daring, and controversial, special operation in Aininian military history was the Ainin Airways Flight 156 Incident. Flight 156 was a Boeing 767 flying the daily Forestia-Bunidaburg Route. On March 26, 1993, Air National Guard transport aircraft, carrying Marines, shot down an Aininian airliner over Aininian airspace into the Sea of Bunida, killing the 84 passengers and crew. The official reason was that the airplane had been hijacked but the Aininian High Congressional Truth and Reconciliation Commission into the Flight 156 Disaster (ANTURC-156) determined that it was due to a massive error high in the chain of command, which led to the arrest and prosecution of 156 senior military officials, with 5 sentenced to 50 years in prison, the maximum punishment for High Treason.

The two-year deployment of Emperor Jason Frost to New Nicksyllvania, with a small (but eventually larger due to recruitment among the Nicksyllvanian slave and peasant populations), but well-trained commando team, with the goal of assassinating as many important Nicksyllvanian nobles as possible while also waging a comprehensive psychological warfare campaign to strike terror into the hearts of the enemy (think Spartacus, but with a much bigger mean streak).

The op wound up with Nicksyllvania's government folding in on itself and the nation collapsing, after which its territories were split up among the nations in the Pentagram Bloc at that point in time... Jason's campaign turned out to be one of the major deciding factors in the Olwean victory against the largest enemy the Empire has ever faced.

Interesting note: Because Jason had been presumed dead at the start of his campaign, as well as because of his knack for seemingly vanishing into thin air after each raid (he was actually hiding out on another plane of existence, where he knew the Nicky Muggles couldn't find him), ethnic Nicksyllvanians still refer to him as "The Ghost".

The most daring special operation that we are willing to declassify currently? That would probably be Operation Divine Sword, the successful assassination of Colonel Geoffrey Rodriguez, commander of HSA forces in the field, that took place on April 7, 1969. A sniper team managed to infiltrate the Colonel's camp and kill him before departing without detection. That event marked a turn of events in the war against the HSA, for in the years afterwards, the HSA would become more and more desperate before its final dissolution in 1986.

The relative youth of this colony means our local forces have a short and unimpressive history. Of the few operations conducted, the one generally considered the most daring was Project CARDINAL IV, which placed full-cover CAT teams within killing range of every important figure (political and cultural) of a particularly troublesome neighbour. However, CARDINAL IV was merely a show of strength, and the CAT teams never activated, instead broadcasting a single 30-minute recording of their targets, before leaving.

Our homeland, in contrast, has a varied and extensive history...and that's the public stuff. Military operations are a major concern for our homeland, so most Special Operations are in fact Black Ops, destined to only see the light of day ten years after their completion. The 5% of operations left unclassified are sufficient to give most conspiracy theorists a heart attack when they try to speculate on what we haven't told them.

Operation Gorget

On May 15th, 2019, all CSC branches of the Special Operations forces (The LLRPs, Kilo Company, FAST, UDTs, Black Guard, Force Recon, and Pararescue), along with the Special Forces of the other AACR nations, raided every known chinese missile silo. The day befoe, US Marines had taken Bejjing, and in response China was launching a full scale nuclear strike. Confederate Montanan intelligence had intercepted these transmissions, and the AACR took swift action. Half of the ICBMs were to be launched at AACR nations, while the other would land in the cities taken by AACR forces. Due to the sheer amount of missiles, the Special Forces were forced to only target the silos launching at the AACR. Knowing that it would be a one-way trip, team leaders made sure the troops were all voulunteers, and preferiblly with no families. They raided the silos, and stopped all but 2 missiles, which were intercepted by AACR Patriot missiles and Californian F-14Es armed with Phoenix missiles. However, there were still the Missiles launched towards china. Despite their best efforts, most of the AACR forces in China couldn't be evacuated, and the AACR took 92% casualties in the Southeast Asia area of operations. All but two of the SF teams were never heard from again. May 13th is now an AACR wide holiday, "Gorget Day".

A joint SBS/GROM assault on a severely damaged U.S aircraft carrier that had been captured by MEC commandos.

During the U.S-MEC war, U.S super carrier USS Hamilton was sheltered in Malta as a non-combatant. It was eventually cleared to leave the Mediterranean via the Straits of Gibraltar and left under the cover of darkness without alerting European Mediterranean Command.

It was detected by MEC naval forces at around 2:00AM and intercepted at approximately 3:00AM by a sizeable force of MEC commandos, known as 'Immortals'. The ensuing violence lasted roughly an hour and ended in the Hamilton being surrendered by Captain Walker Wallace. The Hamilton was dead in the water, her engines had been sabotaged by her own crew, the hull was peppered with gaping holes from ammunition explosions and helicopter missiles, effectively making her a hulk.

After a brief discussion with the U.S President, the European Commonwealth approved the retaking of the USS Hamilton and her crew.

At 0:49am S.B.S and GROM teams successfully boarded the Hamilton, completely undetected, by boat. Moving silently through the ship they eliminated all MEC personnel. No friendlies were lost. A detachment of French Destroyers and three tugs then assisted the Hamilton back to Toulouse in Southern France.

The Commonwealth narrowly avoided bringing itself into the U.S-MEC conflict in this action but successfully threatened the MEC into standing down against them.

Wallace was given a dishonourable discharge and sentenced to ten years in prison for needlessly risking a U.S capital ship, recklessness, surrendering without properly sabotaging (aka sinking) his ship, and putting U.S - E.C relations at risk.

Our most daring Spec Op was during the Kannapian Civil War. The fascist side had just made large advances, and friendly Royal troops had been captured. We sent about 100 spec op troops in a POW camp, and their daring and extreme training added up to free the captives. Also during that war, we used a Stealth Bomber 002 to bomb a Communist Work Camp. All were freed, except those who were exploded.

Our most daring Spec Op was during the siege of Saigon. We sent fire teams of Spec Ops troops to assist the Vietnamese. Relations were already shaky with America.

A group of commandos sabotaged a Galactic Union Federal nuclear supply plant killing over 50,000 enemy personal and civilians and wounding 850,000 more in the blast. The blast also severely damaged most of the city and the Federal shipyards slowing their war effort and destroying the moral of that planet.

The Xas War
The Xas War was really just one big spec op with a major defensive at the capital a bit later, The spec op however was James Kilaron the Fourth who nuked himself inside the Dominion catacombs to halve the numbers of the Dominion which wanted to take over the world. He saved the entire nation of Oceara, and he also saved his High Overseer's Division by ordering them to flee the catacombs while he held off the entire Dominion army (Less of hold off but more of distract them into shooting him while the other guys run away)

150 members.
Tactics: Prefers sneaking around at night and using supressors to take out enemies. They rarely make any noise due to their high risk missions, they teach themselves their own sign languages as their only source of communication.
Missions thus far: Only one noted mission is in the files for this patrol, and that's the assassination of a Saigonian leader of a highly dangerous drug cartel.

On March 17, 2046, The North American Special Operations (NASO) SpecOps Team Seven infiltrated the compound of notorious underground mob dealer Sergio "El Hueso" Hernandez in Panama Territory, Alpacanzia, along with Alpacanzian SpecOp forces.

El Hueso had been smuggling and trafficking huge amounts of opium, cocaine, and methamphetamine across the NAGL-Alpacanzian border into the Mexican Federate since his appearance in organized intelligence sweeps of the drug trade in 2026, the time of the socialist North American government. The North American Intelligence Group (NAIG) of socialist NAGL and the current North American Intelligence Department (NAID) had as of the week of the operation been unable to pinpoint El Hueso's location. Every time it seemed they had found him, he would slip away undetected in a matter of hours, too short of a time to mobilize and co-ordinate an attack.

But finally, on March 13, the NAID triangulated the permanent compound of El Hueso's location from three cell phone dead drops posted in the Latin American region. The compound was posing as a Marina on the Panama Canal, and was fortified on top of a hill during the night. NASO and Alpacanzian forces mover in using NAGL third-generation stealth VTOL's (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) craft to land in the clearing behind the compound walls and take El Hueso by surprise.

In a daring move, the SpecOp militants scaled the walls with the use of high-tec Auto-Grip gloves which allowed them to climb the wall almost spider-like with little to no noise. The guards on the wall were taken out with ease, and the group then neutralized the guards in the courtyard. This would be the end of the stealth mission. Charges were set on the building in the courtyard and NASO stormed in, rifles blazing. The fifteen man team fought their way to the second level where El Hueso was living, and broke down the door.

El Hueso attempted to use his wife as a human shield, but was too slow to get up from his bed. Sgt. James T. Klingerville from Idaho Province, NAGL shot and killed El Hueso with a clean bullet wound to center-mass, and the drug trade of North America was mortally wounded.

It has been nine years since the strike, and in that time the drug trade has struggled to resume without it's dangerous and calculating leader, El Hueso.
When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty.
