Arumdaum, officially the Beautiful Republic of Arumdaum, is the most populous state in Lucerna, with over 289 million citizens. The country is mostly located in Eastern ???, where it borders the nations of Hujie, Hwaguk and Pyeomjeong, as well as the Meraquilo Ocean.

With a size covering over 2.1 million square kilometers and home to nearly 300 million people, Arumdaum is both the third largest nation by area and most populous nation in Lucerna. It is one of the region's most (if not the most) ethnically diverse and multicultural nation due to large scale immigration from many countries, and is often described as a cultural melting pot. Arumdaum's economy is the largest in Lucerna^[1], more than double the size of the next largest economy, with an estimated 2012 GDP of $10.364 trillion.

According to legend, Arumdaum was founded by the Queen Jyori on February 1st, 2450 BCE on Mt. Misan, the supposed origin of the Native Arumdaumene people. The First Arumdaumene Revolution of 1672 overthrew the ruling Hamada Dynasty, and established a constitutional republic. In 1871, over the want of socialism and the brutal suppression of the protesters, the Second Arumdaumene Revolution and the Arumdaumene Civil War broke out. The war ended with a socialist victory in 1881, and the Second Republic was established.

In the year, 1942, the socialist government of the People's Republic of Arumdaum was overthrown in the Coup of 1942 by General Momohuku Kaiho. His rule was marked with repression, censorship, and corruption, although stable economic growth for most of his rule. He and his government were eventually overthrown in the 1961 Arumdaumene Revolution, which established the Beautiful Republic and the Third Republic of Arumdaum.

Today, Arumdaum is a major economic power governed as a federal semi-presidential democracy. Although officially renouncing its right to declare war, the country maintains a modern military force which is used for peacekeeping and self-defense roles. With the second-highest Human Development Index, exceptional healthcare standards, and the fourth highest per-capita income regionally, Arumdaum has one of the highest standards of living in Lucerna. It is the most visited country in Lucerna, receiving around 110 million visitors annually.

Arumdaun culture has been influenced by many things such as Buddhism and Confucian thought, the influx of immigrants Arumdaum has received throughout its history from Kagetora and other such places, and the 1961 Arumdaun Revolution.

Arumdaum music is traditionally played with instruments such as the koto, shimasen, gayageum, buk, jangu, jing, and others. Traditional dress is known as biok.

Arumdaum is divided into twenty-six regions, which are further divided into 215 prefectures. The most developed, populous, and richest region is Calibuena, where the capital is located (outlined in pink). Green represents regional borders, and blue represents prefectural borders.

In Arumdaum, there are one-hundred twenty-three national holidays every year, with many regions having holidays of their own.

They are and are celebrated by:
New Year's Day/January 1st: These are celebrated with huge fireworks and people making out to celebrate the coming of a new year.

Valentines Day/February 14th: On this day, people show love for their significant other, or just spread love around to everyone.

Revolution Day/April 30th: The day when Arumdaum's old dictatorship was overthrown in 1961. People fire fireworks everywhere.

International Worker's Day/May 1st: Workers rights are celebrated.

Halloween/October 31st: CANDEH CANDEH CANDEH CANDEH

Christmas/December 25th: People celebrate Christmas by giving and receiving presents from one another. People spread around the spirit of giving. Undoubtedly the largest and most important holiday of the year in Arumdaum.

New Year's Eve/December 31st: People celebrate the ending of another year, and for a new one to come.

Public education in Arumdaum is mainly operated by state and local governments, although regulated by the Arumdaumene Department of Education. Free education is guaranteed to all citizens under the age of twenty-one in the Arumdaumene Constitution. In most states, children are required to begin school at the age of four or five until they reach the age of eighteen. Homeschooling as well as religious schooling is prohibited. All college education in Arumdaum is almost free; college entrance fees are only ¥1,000 (about $10.12), since a series of new reforms by incumbent President Shimiju Ryōko, having been ¥10,000 ($101.23) before. Students who come from families that make over ¥10,000,000 a year are still however required to pay the old price.

Pre-school education has been completely free since 1973, and parents are encouraged to send their kids to pre-schools. Due to their high take-up rate, pre-schooling is generally considered a normal part of schooling in Arumdaum despite it being optional. The school year is divided into two semesters, the school year and the first semester generally beginning in mid-October and ending in late February, with students returning for the second semester at the end of March and ending the school year in mid-August.

The Arumduamene education system is unique due to its rather long 16-year educational training, beginning with Kindergarten 1 and ending with High School Year 5. Kindergarten lasts for three years, Elementary for five, Middle or Junior High for four, and High School for five. The maximum class size is 28, and classes may be as small as 15 students. In 2011, the Ministry of Education published a report which showed that 89.9% of high school graduates attended an institution of higher education such as a university or trade school.

Standard attendance times for high schools are from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with five-minute breaks between classes (excluding lunch). Breakfasts at school are offered freely. Schools are barred from enforcing uniforms or dress codes, although students may voluntarily wear a school uniform should their school have one.

In 2009, spending on education amounted to 10.8% of the GDP. The government provides university students with cheap housing, although costs are generally higher for foreign students. The basic literacy rate is estimated to be well over 99%.

By 2011, digital textbooks were successfully distributed to every primary, middle, and high school within the country.

Religious Demographics

Buddhism has been the most widely practiced religion ever since its introduction to Arumdaum is the AD 300's. Today, even with the rise of the irreligious and the introduction of new religions, Buddhism is still greatly practiced in Arumdaum and is a widely respected religion. Even those who are not Buddhist regularly attend the festivals and rituals. For many years, it was the state religion of Arumdaum, until the year 1961, when Arumdaum's then dictatorship was overthrown by a revolution.

Today, religion is not expected to have part in the government, and Arumdaum is officially a secular country. There are a small amount of Muslims and Hindus in the country, mostly refugees from countries prohibiting their religions, with the Arumdaumin Muslim community numbering over a million people.

The first people to inhabit Arumdaum were of course cavemen, with evidence showing that they lived in Arumdaum 680,000 years ago. Arumdaum was first called Arumdaum in 1467, when Huamyeongai renamed itself the Arumdaum Empire.

Since Hanja is the official writing, what happens to native Korean words? Is it used like in Japanese, where there is a mixture of Kanji, Hiragana and Katakana, or is it just simply left out?

Yes, in Arumdaum, as there are only 2,145 hanja and kanji characters used officially, there is a mix of hangeul, hiragana, and katakana.

Arumdaum's climate varies by region.

However most of the country tends to be pretty chilly, especially in the mountains and the coast. The coast of Calibuena, is however, warm all year round. The mountains of that state, interestingly, are also the best places for winter sports such as skiing, snowboarding, and sledding.

The country is also filled with forest.

Arumdaum is usually a very cold country, although in the summer, it gets a bit warmer.

Arumdaum is full of mountains and forest, and the high altitudes make the climate even colder.
