I had classmates in the major that combined their BA-MA with languages. I myself finished with minors in languages (French), philosophy, history and Spanish.

I had the good fortune of studying this in Europe, where there's a 'market' for it. I worked in my chosen field for several years and derived a lot of satisfaction. And hopefully, I will work at it again. Just not in Bumfuck Arkansas.

If the Primary charge is still intact all you need is to put a ignition device to activate it and it's active again.

I learned a bit about modern explosives in the army.

I have a three inch cannon and a mortar, which uses improvised shells. (read: soda cans full of petrol)

Its a WWII-era frag grenade. The bottom has a hole drilled in it, the explosives have been removed, as has the ignition device.

Reactivating a Hand Grenade is not to be done by people not trained to do it this as it can result in disememberment and Death. The Ignitionary device can actually damage the primary charge and cause premature detonation.

Oh i got the canon to fire a deformed bucket i shaped into a shell with a hammer and filled with black powder thing was Sweet!

Nearly ruined the canon though, its generally just firing black powder to make a boom, not shoot anything.
