Division Three Playoff:

In other news, national team captain Andy Peters has caused a shock by leaving perennial title hopefuls Mort Park to sign for Division One newcomers Broxton and Marrs Hill. Peters was born and brought up in Broxton, and played for the then Broxton Town at junior level. A move to Banks proved less than successful, but subsequent transfers to Bradley Swifts and then Mort Park helped his career at both club and international level. Now he says he wants to put something back into the club (or at least, the successor to the club) which gave him his first break in football by helping their quest for Division One success.

Since their back-to-back promotions, achieved with very little financial input from chairman Jordan Sunderland, Brock have proved the neutrals' favourites in the league. Hopefully with Andy Peters' return to his hometown club, the neutrals - and Brock fans themselves - will have more to smile about.

Season 20,048

We had a season with more of a competition for the title, but in the end, it was the usual suspects who emerged victorious in this first year of the new league system. United were able to pull away from Hondo, Club ESF, and Ibini in the last month, securing another title for the capital club. However, Ibini's success in its first season has shown that the Vyintanese outfit was not just a big fish in a small pond getting lucky in the ICC playoffs but they are indeed a legitimate international caliber club. However there is also AS Peravova's relegation to consider and how none of the other six Vyinta sides in the Star league were promoted. Rolalas saw a mix of fortunes, with Athletic being relegated despite a win over Club ESF on the last matchday, while Rolalas FC managed to sneak their way into the Globe Cup at Wexax United's expense.

In regards to the new clubs, they dominated the new Division Four, the lowest tier now in Elven League football, securing all of the promotion spots, and had a decent showing in Division Three as well, with Ibininers securing a promotion as well. It seems that some talent has indeed found its way out in the Vanorian frontier and we could be looking at one of those new squads rising up to the Premiership in five to ten seasons. They will be a group of clubs to watch with interest that is for sure, as will how the entire new league setup works out for the domestic league when it comes to international club competitions.

Valanora's (VAL) Final Site Bids
Champions Cup 46: Artani (74,000), Mar Sara - Located in the heart of Mar Sara, this modern stadium was built just under three decades ago with the best technology that the world has to offer. It is owned and operated by Mar Sara FC of the Elven Premier League and is routinely used by the VFA for domestic cup Final sites when a Mar Sara side is not in the Final. Artani offers all the best money can buy when it comes to a quality stadium and hopes to welcome all to the bread basket capital of Valanora.

Globe Cup 43: The Battleground (78,000), Raynor City - In the middle of the sprawling capital of Valanora, The Battleground is one of the oldest stadiums in the country. It underwent a major renovation nearly fifty years ago to become the premier and largest stadium in all of Valanora. Rail from all over the capital have stops outside the stadium making it easily accessible to all citizens and visitors to Valanora's capital. It has hosted several domestic and international Finals and is used to the commotion that large scale matches create and can accommodate all with proper security and seating. While not as new as Artani, the renovations made to the stadium have made it the premier stadium of Valanora.

Inaugural Brantolano Lega Prima
Image

Branta Island hasn't had the greatest of histories. Born out of a governal decree declaring independence originally deemed a farce, the nation has faced harsh scrutiny within their former ruler, Saugeais. They've been the laughing stock to their "big brother" in pretty much everything, from politics to sports, especially sports. The Brantolano have yet to even draw a match with their counterparts in football, rugby, and baseball. Realizing that their nation may be left in the sporting dust, the government has put together a football league that has said will "one day rival those mainlanders."

And so the Lega Prima was born, consisting of 20 teams from around the small island. Some towns have doubled or tripled up on teams due to the lack of space, such as capital city Leggio, Scipio, and Vitini. The governemnt is very favorable towards teams in the bigger towns, especially those in Leggio; many government officials hold stock in S.S. and Inter Leggio, thus making them able to recruit highly touted players easier than the other clubs. This has, however, not kept big brother Saugeais from making a move on Brantolano talent: Les Alliés, Cherrywich, and Royalwich have taken 5 potential national teamers in the open market. This wasn't greeted with outrage; in fact, the government officials welcomed the fact that Saugeais clubs recognize Brantolano skill when they see it.

So , without further ado and backstory, here are the results for the first ever Lega Prima in Branta Island:

Califan Solidarity League wrote:The Califan Solidarity League of International Football Associations is excited to announce that the FSC Football Assembly and the IACS Football Association will begin their relationship with the Yesopalithan FA, bringing two players on board from the collapsed foreign league. The two Yesopalithan players will join their new squads in training exercises immediately, and help the clubs prepare for a renewed attack on CSL Series A and the UICA tournaments.

Surging mid-table FSC club Fontana has acquired 19-year-old center midfielder Katerina Andersen, a physical player with a knack for possession. After dominating the early COPACASUR tournaments (FSC cup), Fontana has slipped to the mid-table with the exception of qualifying for the Globe Cup last season. Andersen may get GC playing time for a club looking to batten down the hatches.

Undisputed IACS champion Rishon LeZion has acquired 21-year-old left back Kirsi Stenberg, a speedy defender skilled at containing explosive strikers. Though being the only IACS team in CSL Series A so far, Rishon LeZion qualified for their first Champions' Cup last season, where they will face long odds from the get-go. They hope Stenberg can help them sew up the back end and continue to compete at the highest levels of CSL Series A and in international competition.

The Astograthian Football League: Season 653 Review

The landmark twentieth season of Astograthian football is met with no pre-season preview for the first time in a long time and frail media coverage due to a long and nasty industry strike that could have dire consequences for those depending on TV money. We will return to your regularly scheduled programming once the lives of certain FAF directors return to the routine of normalcy.

Transfers
- Brandon Bishop (Camwood) released from his contract with Royal Rumiatzi
- Victoria Hellion (Yesopalitha) signed as a free agent by Astograth University
- Val Kylx (Slembana) from Honeybadgers (FSSO) to Royal Rumiatzi
- Iosif Tsarapkin (Chetkosk), last at Echegoyan FC, retired from football
- Jane Vander Rox (Yesopalitha) signed as a free agent by Echegoyan FC

Highly-acclaimed Yesopalithans Victoria Hellion and Jane Vander Rox join their compatriot Fantasia Cecile-Marie and the Vanorian Durosea Aintôrthea as the only women to compete in the Astograthian First Division. The most shocking signing of the season, though, was Slembanan superstar Val Kylx's big-money signing by Royal Rumiatzi; his refusal to participate in the official press conference for longer than a minute has been cited as one of the causes of this year's crippling media strike, however, as journalists were reportedly pushed over the edge due to all the “bullshit” they get from “footballers”.

First Division
It seems to be a trend that Echegoyan do best when nobody's watching, nabbing the title from the claws of Royal Rumiatzi in the last few matchdays, Kaparaka fatally slipping against local rivals Royal Ibarbe and South Factory before Ituraitz FC's Saugeain starlet Alphonse Richelieu dealt the killing blow at Knights' Stadium; meanwhile his twin brother, Baudouin, sealed the title for Echegoyan against Athletic Club Olarria, baptising Silanes Park as a place of victory three years after moving in. The Highlanders' replacement of top man Ilixo Akutain with Jane Vander Rox, the full-on revelation of Richelieu, Koldobika Benitzaizin coming into his own in the stead of former captain Iosif Tsarapkin and Iban Bachiondo's newfound maturity with the armband have been pointed out as key reasons for their second title under manager Garoa Larzondo.

Urbizania Wanderers climbed to second place with a simple win over the relegated Ibarbe, having given up their lead to Royal Rumiatzi earlier in the season. Defending champions Ituraitz FC slumped somewhat, as it appears the other teams have “figured them out”; in any case, the legendary Soter Sarlange was not terribly missed, Alphonse Richelieu being an excellent complement to Tomas Aer on the attack.

Astogath University were content to finish with the top Globe Cup spot in the face of such fierce competition for the top, the squad seemingly lacking ambition despite being filled to the brim with top-class players. Oyardo FC maintained their excellent home-grown form to attend a UICA competition once more, while Athletic Club Rumiatzi were ecstatic and not just because hated rivals Royal Rumiatzi's title run collapsed; the cross-town menace have gone truly international, qualifying for their first Globe Cup. Further down, Royal Association and Miners FC were unable to find the same form as they did previously in the second tier. Royal Ibarbe, meanwhile, experienced total misery, winning only two matches out of thirty – one of which effectively condemned Royal Rumiatzi.

Second Division
For the first time ever, the teams promoted to the Astograthian top flight are the exact same three that were relegated last season, in inverted order. Royal Association ran away with the trophy, while Miners FC and Athletic Club Rumiatzi rightfully make a return – further down, of the four sides with First Division tradition, only Ximun Orieta will be making a SBCC appearance to appease them.

ROYAL CUP FINAL
@ Grand Duke's Stadium, Rumiatzi
Urbizania Wanderers 2-1 Echegoyan FC

The two teams that topped the league table. The now three-time First Division champions against the former world champions and defending Royal Cup winners. Each had seen off formidable opposition to get there, Wanderers just barely surviving at Knights' Stadium in the semifinals and Echegoyan roughing it out against Ituraitz FC into extra-time of the Round of 16. In short, given the moment each club is going through, this was a dream final.

Jane Vander Rox put Echegoyan ahead in what already seemed like a repeat of their last meeting, the Highlanders stuffing the Wanderers at Cherketzo Arena to get back for the humiliating defeat at Silanes Park earlier in the season. It was not to be, however, as this time Felix Zajaczek whipped a cross to the far post that let Ikatz Ansotegi unleash a point-blank shot on the helpless goalkeeper.

Into the second-half, Iulian Finnibaturinn was uncharacteristically sent off for a rash high tackle that sidelined Echegoyani playmaker Manex Urrutia, and Wanderers were forced to backtrack and desperately fend for themselves against a side craving to become the third to win an Astograthian double. But Edorta Urrustoy knows a thing or two about organising a defense and his team held out until Edwardo Baez's long ball found Laborious Hawk. Bikendi Medrano's error in the mark went very much punished, the elf of legend drawing out the keeper on a solo run and sending the ball sailing oh-so-slowly into the top corner of the net. Echegoyan had no answer.

Instead of one club becoming the third to win the double, another became the third to win the Royal Cup twice in a row, this golden generation of Urbizania Wanderers inscribing its name alongside similarly cherished sides from Iturributa United and Ituraitz FC.

The Iturributan Premier Division: Season 653 Review

Seven seasons of Iturributan football have now been played. Has the title been won by anyone other Sporting Iturributa or Iturributa United? No. Has anyone else claimed second place? No. Has the league expanded? No. Was the finish to the two-horse race exciting? As always!

Premier Division
As usual, the Iturributan league title decisively hinged on a Tale of Four Derbies, neither Sporting nor United giving quarter against lesser opposition. Both sides brought out their best; the Chevrons shielding themselves with an impenetrable defense that refuses to show its age, the Scarlet Stripes unleashing the full fury of their offensive power while kept safe at the back by the very first World Cup winner to play in Iturributa - Audioslavian reserve goalkeeper Anthony Newbridge. The first two Iturributan Derbies, the very lifeblood of the Free Republic's domestic football scene, ended in unsatisfactory draws as both outfits tussled for the top with early challenges from Freedom FC and last season's President's Cup winners Garitzeta Racing Club.

The last two were what spiced things up, as the season crossed its halfway mark and things began to fall into their usual places - which is to say, the two giants of Iturributan football were either drawn on points or very close by for months on end. Marin Mendazona's free-kick was the only thing to pull them apart in the third derby, Sporting scraping a 2-1 win, but only three weeks from the final matchday they met again and Elwyn Richard sentenced the win for the Scarlet Stripes, putting them two points over their rivals. They thought it was all over.

Next week, United destroyed the third-placed Freedom FC 5-1. Seven days later they were held to a scoreless draw by the upstarts from Uzio Blackstar, something of a revelation this season, as the Stripes' prolific offense could not find the way around the opposition. Meanwhile, Sporting won at Independent Garitzeta, bringing them level and provoking scenes of panic at Old City Stadium - not unwarranted, since they were level on head-to-head results and the next tie-breaker, in case of a title-deciding draw, would be a play-off. The legendary fifth derby, effectively a tournament final to cap it all off... if they finished level on points.

The psychological blow of being unable to beat Uzio Blackstar at their home ground turned out to be crippling. Garitzeta Racing Club pulled off a marvellous upset at Letatzadur Stadium that not only granted the title to Sporting but pulled them over rivals Iturributa Racing in the table, who came away with no points in their visit to the Chevrons on the same final matchday.

Sporting Iturributa break the stalemate, at least temporarily, by winning their fourth league title out of seven. Eneko Dicharry earned his first silverware as manager and Zernin Aira lifted the trophy for the last time before retiring from football, in a career spanning eighteen years, twelve club titles, two national teams and the 50th Cup of Harmony.

PRESIDENT'S CUP FINAL
FIRST LEG
@ Old City Stadium, Iturributa
Iturributa United 0-0 Sporting Iturributa

SECOND LEG
@ Old City Stadium, Iturributa
Sporting Iturributa 1-2 Iturributa United

This was Iturributa United's revenge for the league, and it was very sweet. Having somehow seen all their previous attempts at winning the President's Cup cruelly trumped, including final defeats against their bitterest of rivals and to Iturributa Racing Club in the inaugural edition, the Scarlet Stripes went to the first leg of this final with blood in their eyes... and their unbridled rage was carefully controlled by a much calmer Sporting side, confident on the back of their First Division win but unable to score themselves. It ended 0-0, and the second leg could now serve, perfectly, as the fifth league derby that never happened.

Learning from their mistakes, soothed by manager Petter Bielsen, United came out and dominated the match from start to finish, regardless of the scoreline. Zabal Lizaran and his midfield expertly hid the ball from the advances of Artur Rochemback and company, while in the first half Elwyn Richard scored with a towering header to the bottom corner and in the second Otz Lasuen was there to receive Georghe von Leeweonheouck's cross and subtly tap it past the keeper. Yeremi Belasutigetigoitia's goal, headed to the near post from a corner, was scored in injury time and practically an afterthought, the ground's West Stand already celebrating their long awaited win in a domestic cup final - the last one came seventeen years ago, in an Astograthian Royal Cup final against... Sporting Iturributa.

And to go with the newly revamped league, we've got a newly revamped cup as well! Die Piala Profesional (The Professional's Cup) is here for its first outing in Mashik football, but who will win the ties and essentially win the cup, let's find out!

Preliminary Round

Tarvanek Warriors 2-3 U.F.C Dagnar

Povota Kastaras 1-0 Lakeway Antelopes

Barassia Park Kantelles 1-0 North Point Titans

Joventa Karavek 2-1 Barassia Falcons

Karhustek Livelles 1-0 Ter-Honvek Sea Tigers

Yutar Olenta 0-1 Vilantodon

Galapana Marinas 1-1 Shandan Thunder (1-1 AET) (3-0 PKs)

K.R Povanek 1-4 Imperial St Bradley's

Polovek Ignivites 9-1 Ravia Tualento

Oviella Baltana 1-0 Racing Tubushu

Bartenna Coast 1-2 Partia Bavette

Second Round

Wushu Pistollas 2-1 Joventa Karavek

Imperial St Bradley's 1-2 Renovik Hyatovats

Galapana Marinas 1-1 Partia Bavette (1-2 AET)

Barassia Park Kantelles 3-1 Oviella Baltana

Tykas Muzpeta 1-0 Karhustek Livelles

Povota Kastaras 2-5 Karavek Village Firestorms

Polovek Ignivites 3-3 Vilantodon (4-3 AET)

So after the lower league rounds, 8 teams advance into the final rounds to face the premier league teams, with 3 from the North Coast, 2 from both the jungle and the south, and 1 from the lake advancing. Te highlight of the results has got to be Polovek Ignivites' staggering 9-1 victory over Ravia Tualento, and they look on form to go far, and now here is the next round of results:

Third Round

Dodolaville 0-2 U.F.C Dagnar

F.C Tobaku 1-0 Renovik Hyatovats

S.C Tubushu 0-2 F.C Dagnar United

Wushu Pistollas 0-2 A.C Barassia

Syriak Guadir 0-0 Gushu Baltana (0-0 AET) (1-2 PKs)

Faladi Republic 2-2 Barassia Park Kantelles (2-2 AET) (1-3 PKs)

National St Bradley's 2-5 Athletic Rigana

Olympic Partiad 3-4 Tykas Muzpeta

Darting Baltana 3-0 Galapana Islanders

Karavek Village Firestorms 4-0 Polovek Ignivites

With 4 games going to extra-time, 5 of the lower league teams advancing and two 7-goal thrillers, ths is certainly an entertaining round of cup football. The Firestorms certainly look promising after demolishing the Ignivites 4-0 when attack met attack. But what will happen in the next round... Let's find out:

Fourth Round

Barassia Park Kantelles 1-3 South Bartal

St Bradley's City 1-0 R.C Rigana

Gushu Baltana 1-0 A.C Barassia

Maden Galapana 0-1 F.C Tobaku

Karavek Village Firestorms 2-3 F.C Dagnar United

Tykas Muzpeta 0-0 U.F.C Dagnar (0-0 AET) (1-2 PKs)

Athletic Rigana 3-0 Falafal United

Darting Baltana 1-4 Partia Bavette

There's still two lower-league teams in it going into the semi-finals, as Partia Bavette dominated against Darting Baltana and U.F.C Dagnar saw off Tykas Muzpeta on penalties. The champions are also still in it after a close game against the Firestorms, as are South Bartal, who are looking for silverware this season. But the next two rounds are over two legs, which could make all the difference....

Quarter-Finals

F.C Tobaku 0-2 South Bartal (0-2 agg)
South Bartal 4-0 F.C Tobaku (6-0 agg)

Athletic Rigana 3-2 U.F.C Dagnar (3-2 agg)
U.F.C Dagnar 1-5 Athletic Rigana (3-8 agg)

St Bradley's City 1-1 Partia Bavette (1-1 agg)
Partia Bavette 1-1 St Bradley's City (1-2 AET) (2-3 agg)

F.C Dagnar United 1-0 Gushu Baltana (1-0 agg)
Gushu Baltana 1-4 F.C Dagnar United (1-5 agg)

It's all about the top teams now as both lower league sides are out following an 8-3 aggregate demolishing on .F.C Dagnar by Athletic Rigana, and a close encounter for St Bradley's City against a strong Partia Bavette side. With two teams from the capital still left in it, as well as the top two from the league, it's going to be close...

Semi-Finals

Athletic Rigana 1-2 South Bartal (1-2 agg)
South Bartal 0-0 Athletic Rigana (2-1 agg)

St Bradley's City 1-1 F.C Dagnar United (1-1 agg)
F.C Dagnar United 1-0 St Bradley's City (2-1 agg)

So, as predicted by most, it's a top two final, with South Bartal and F.C Dagnar Unite battling for the crown. Dagnar are looking for the clean sweep, while Bartal are looking to outclass and outshine their opponents, but only one can win: Who will it be...

Final
F.C Dagnar United 2-0 South Bartal (2-0 agg)

And it's F.C Dagnar United who take the clean sweep, with South Bartal coming so close once again. This means that the final Globe Cup place goes to Destina Masquet, due to Dagnar already being in a UICA competition. And that concludes the 4th season of domestic Mashik football!

XISTRUMBIGONÇA
Region: Lem.
Colors: Black
Nickname(s): The Black Army, The Machine
Stadium: Piteka Coliseum (cap. 100.000), Cidade Pupidu
Overview: The all-black uniforms were picked by club founder Arec Piteka because he thought they would make the team more intimidating. It seems to have worked, because Xistrumbigonça went on to be the most sucessful team in Dainer. They're also the richest, which allows them to bring the most seasoned, sucessful players together.
=
Lineup: van Riet; Segel, Cruzeiro, Phoenix, Amakusa; Scelianus, Yahia, Mijatovic(c), Costan; Raitaro, Sieke.
=
Coach: Mélanie de Sable.
Tactics: 4-4-2 diamond, with tons of skill both up front and back.
Season Overview: They seem to be getting up their old form, but the exigent crowd won't believe it until they add some more trophies to their proud cabinet.

Image
KORRIGA
Region: Lem.
Colors: Red and white
Nickname: Racers
Stadium: Velodrome (Cap: 76.000), Ferros
Overview: The football branch of the traditional Korriga motor racing team, it is the newest of the so-called Great Four (along with Xistrumbigonça, Sport Wios and University). It has been the only team to challenge Xistrumbigonça for the top spot so far.
=
Lineup: Kakana; Liu Keng Bem, Jurgen, Rodela D'Alho; Giraud, Ikira, Viper, Onze Letras; Liu Keng Mau, Rei Pelé, Guaita.
=
Coach: Juan Manuel da Silva.
Tactics: 3-4-3 diamond. The defensive midfielder gives more freedom to Ikira and Viper to race forward and help the best frontline in Dainer.
Season Overview: On paper, the team looks as good as ever, but even Liu Keng Mau seems to be slipping in the scoring charts...

Image
UNIVERSITY
Region: Inglebsu.
Colors: White and blue
Nickname: All-whites
Stadium: Marble Dome (Cap: 80.000), Acropolis
Overview: An institution of Daineri football, one of its very oldest professional clubs. It was the dominant force before Xistrumbigonça came along.
=
Lineup: Ixion; Poinob(c), Bulkus, Tetrasborb, Panaka; Proposs, Nibiru, Hyrum, Aytac; Bobby Sauro, Powploc.
=
Coach: Ricardo Carvalho.
Tactics: Defensive, relying on tight marking and a five-man backline. Powploc lurks in the penalty area as an always-present menace.
Season Overview: With the leave of two more seasoned players, University is in the position Xistrumbigonça was a few years ago. Time will tell how long it will take for them to recover...

Image
SPORT WIOS
Region: Guliver.
Colors: White, green and red
Nickname: Dragons, The Nobles
Stadium: Sky and Earth Hall (cap. 84.000), Urdu
Overview: A traditional club, which had never left the top echelon until lately. Founded by draco-humans, it's associated with them to this day.
=
Lineup: Mbabane; Gambiarra, Nonato Jr. (AND), Esdron; Gahiji, Ubu, Block, Panácios, Stenmark(c); Makya, Krishnamurti.
=
Coach: Yuri Colandatuba.
Tactics: 3-5-2, with powerful markers and a solid back line that leaves the creative people free.
Season Overview: A Dainer Cup final and a good show in the Heritage Cup showed they're back in the game, but they won't be content with "just close".

Image
ISPER
Region: Guliver.
Colors: White, navy and yellow
Nickname: The Old School
Stadium: Sapiens Arena (45.000), Urdu, and Social Arena (80.000), Undina
Overview: Born from the fusion of two amateur school teams, it became full professional and never stopped ascending. Their greatest strength lies on the youth teams, a veritable factory of great players.
=
Lineup: Rena; Fábio, Leonardo, Babu, Bezerro; Hassam, Arex, Lucos, Bio(c); Matadin, Crussa.
=
Coach: Tio Gogô.
Tactics: 4-4-2, Very offensive. The three midfield maestros are the agressive sort, constantly looking for attacking opportunities.
Season Overview: This is a team of ever-growing potential... but no conquests to show off for it so far. Can they shake off their underachieving reputation?

Image
ESTRELA D'ALVA
Region: Lem.
Colors: Red and Black
Nickname: Scarlet and Black, The Boys from Down the Street
Stadium: New Fountain (cap. 92.000), Cidade Pupidu
Overview: One day, a bunch of kids that played on the streets of Cidade Pupidu decided to start a team. Funny how far dreams can take you.
=
Lineup: Castanha; Rainier, Youssef, Esquerdinha, Uéslei(c); Suqian, Allan Brado, Gian; Beto, Power, Catapimba.
=
Coach: Henrique Sá Poti
Tactics: Offensive, with a playmaker "in the zone" who has two other supporting him by the sides, plus a pair of aggressive wide-backs.
Season Overview: They have one of the best teams around, and a League title to show for it. Can they keep it up?

Image
MINIGOLEADA
Region: Caveirairas
Colors: Black and green
Nickname: Green Stars
Stadium: Gigempat Arena (cap. 120.000), Derdia
Overview: The pride of the Skëdar, eternal nemeses of Xistrumbigonça. Unlike their main rivals, they rely a lot on home-grown talent, which helps strengthen its position as a popular club in the region.
=
Lineup: Germânia; Xitalia(c), Morgenau, Metaxas, Hawk (NSI); Damien, Holowaty, Kantemir, Blavatsky; Patiy (NSI), Astrobildo.
=
Coach: Mario Yndoyr.
Tactics: 4-4-2 diamond, a favorite of Daineri tacticians. Astrobildo never ceases being a menace in attack.
Season Overview: A new international signing in Patiy will hopefully bring them back to the title races.

Image
VOLEY
Region: Guliver
Colors: Red, black and white.
Nickname: Olympians
Stadium: Metropolitan Sports Complex (cap. 66.000), Urdu
Overview: They were a tennis and volleyball club that took up soccer as a way to show up the neighboring clubs. Eventually, the soccer division split off and went professional.
=
Lineup: Zed; Aopre, Oryol, Ceará, Tamen; Blanc, Colel(c), Drene, Ponzi, Barba de Jesus; Ranna.
=
Coach: Fábian Bernard.
Tactics: A secure back-line, and in front of it, five players that roam from attack to defense as needed.
Season Overview: Another team that looks good on paper, but hasn't translated it into titles so far. With few changes in lineup, they don't look like they'll be changing it any time soon.

Image
ECLIPSE
Region: Inglebsu
Colors: Purple and black.
Nickname: Lunatics
Stadium: Eclipse Baiya (cap. 80.000), Acropolis
Overview: A very young outfit, founded since the beginning for the purpose of being a major force. They have enjoyed a steady climb so far, but not enough to breach the dominance of the Great Eight.
=
Lineup: Leone; Tanquemar, Apophis, Landgraab, Yolanda (NCA); Fenestra, Obirapitanga, Mackinac, De Veer(c), Kenji; Blackburn.
=
Coach: Edelzio Cabana.
Tactics: 3-4-2-1, with skilled crossers, powerful attacking midfielders and an opportunistic forward.
Season Overview: Back from the Daineri League, they lost two of their key players... they don't look good right now.

Image
TOMMY-ATKINS
Region: Guliver
Colors: Blue and white
Nickname: Blues
Stadium: Planetarium (cap. 58.000), Samata
Overview: When they played Zill in the first Dainer Cup final, they were already rivals. One of the very first professional teams of the country.
=
Lineup: Mustafa; Armengaard, King, Batiman, Fightmaster; Durango, Das Irvine(c), Falkner, Vaiyt; Enzo, Aolo.
=
Coach: Hui Saolan.
Tactics: 4-4-2, with two aggressive side midfielders and a speedy forward that make it resemble a 4-3-3 or a 4-5-1 from moment to moment.
Season Overview: They're going pretty good so far, but some titles would be nice...

Image

=

Region: Caveirairas
Colors: Brown and blue

=
Lineup: Kaban(c); Bundan, Zelipe, Kiyopa, Murrah; Eskibon, Vinicios, Pioyt; Jinjin, Jenisn, Jerjelin.
=
Coach: Embu de Serrinha

Image
ACROPOLIS
Region: Inglebsu
Colors: Silver and orange
Nickname: Robots
Stadium: Acropolis Arena (cap. 57.000), Acropolis
Overview: A team closely associated with the IT industry center of Acropolis, they were founded as pioneers of a "scientific" style of management. As representative of Acropolis, they enjoy a sort of rivalry with Urdutown.
=
Lineup: Viros; Zageurio, Prerigo, Gygax, Regulus; Maqiuna, Kaliptos(c), Pereyra; Kung Fu Zé, Ra-seru, Frogfucios.
=
Coach: Empedokles Garo.
Tactics: Classic Daineri 4-3-3. The wingers work their way to the middle with skill and speed.
Season Overview: They're keeping themselves in the top flight and the Conference disputes, which is already a feat. They need a bit more oomph for titles, however.

Image
SUN COAST
Region: Lem.
Colors: Blue and orange.
Nickname: Beach Boys
Stadium: Anil Marina Stadium (cap. 32.000), Cidade Pupidu
Overview: While small in football, this club is a potency in beach and water sports, and from that they derive much of their popularity.
=
Lineup: Crawford; Calunga, Garbaxosa, Maddox(c); Engrish, Krebson, Perivaldo, Bananarama, Shiratori; Angar, Roetaka.
=
Coach: Mortimer Marley.
Tactics: 3-5-2
Season Overview: Runners-up in the last Daineri Super League, they are motivated and ready to fight for more glory. The lack of big signings is a reason to worry, however.

Image
CRYSTAL
Region: Guliver
Colors: Red and white
Nickname: The Great Old Club
Stadium: Jan Sibelius Stadium (cap. 50.000) and Crystal Box (cap. 33.000), Ventia
Overview: The club was born from the fusion of Crystal and Sibelius, the two most sucessful amateur teams in Dainer's early football years. Only the very oldest fans recall their glory days today, though.
=
Lineup: Milagres; Robson, Bruk, Trabucodonosor; Karamera, Sasera(c), Galego, Perna; Expresso, Heron, Economiakis.
=
Coach: Rosa Nicolaoui.
Tactics: 3-4-3, with three playmakers that mark and distribute balls to three skillful attackers.
Season Overview: Their team, while impressive up front, doesn't look like it will challenge the big guys. Their objective is to stay in the League.

Image
LIMOEIRO
Region: Lem
Colors: Green, blue and white
Nickname: Uptown Boys
Stadium: Monica Sousa Stadium (cap. 50.000), Limoeiro

=
Coach: Elvis Sarraf.
Tactics: 3-4-3, with the main power in attack being two fast and prolific goalscorers in the wings.

Xistrumbigonça disappoints and bows out of group stage even while scoring 20 goals, while Voley ends up being more effective with eight.

Cachimbo Amplo doesn't have much trouble getting their ticket, while Palestra goes ahead of Conga on goal difference and poor Metanoi ends up as a punching bag.

Title holders Limoeiro books theirs early, while Jenipapa flounders thanks to Crystal's superior goal difference.

Eclipse and Zill, despite their League woes, go to next stage at the expense of Adda and Éclaireurs.

3 Jéan 6 2 1 3 8 11 −3 7
4 Ragaman 6 2 0 4 5 7 −2 6

Nobody really offers a challenge to Urdutown in the group, and again it's goal difference that lets Ispingilovi through.

3 Shitrom 6 2 3 1 10 9 +1 9
4 Adubo Fértio 6 0 2 4 3 14 −11 2

Acropolis, Isper and Shitrom fight for their places until the last breath, and the capital team ends up victorious.

3 Raoni 6 3 0 3 15 15 0 9
4 Inga Rasen 6 0 0 6 1 23 −22 0

A thoroughly unequal group. Inga Rasen manages to score a lone goal while Sport Wios and Korriga go ahead.

The so-called "Group of Death" ends up being a wash for Marvel Team and Tommy-Atkins, while Minigoleada crowns a disappointing campaign and University loses all their matches.

ESTRELA D'ALVA
qualified for Cygnus Cup

Estrela D'Alva cements their domination by winning both major trophies in a single season. That's three of four in these two seasons, which makes them the most sucessful club of the UICA era. The triple crown eludes them, but at this rate who knows where they will stop?

SEASON PRIZES
Emerald Ball
Beto (Estrela D'Alva) - No contest. Among this year's dominating performance, Beto's acrobactic leaps and dazzling skills left everyone else in the dust.
Emerald Boot
Liu Keng Mau (Korriga) - 67 goals - That's four Emerald Boots to the same guy. Liu Keng Mau is a goal-scoring machine, and now he's broken his previous scoring record by a whopping 10 goals.
Emerald Glove
Castanha (Estrela D'Alva) - even though Sport Wios' Mbabane and Urdutown's Le Parkour have impressed this year, it's hard not to look at the guy between the sticks in the most dominating team of the season.

KINITAR PREMIER DIVISION 3477
Season Preview

Last season marked what many commentators hailed as a break in the duopoly of the two sides from the capital, with Tirinthea achieving an unprecedented breakthrough, forcing their way into second place ahead of a fragile Mi'ato City side which never really recovered from an awful start to the season. City's tame surrender of the crown gifted hated rivals Mi'ato a clear run at the championship, which they did not pass up. The closing pack, including teams like Dinamo Paleu, Serenberg and a newly resurgent Litora United, will be hoping to consolidate and push up the table this season. There were surprises - Čilibeni Town and Kasmenai Phoenix establishing themselves in mid-table against the odds - and with the return of some old faces like Atletika Vanuku and Spartak Rexitova to the league, this season promises to be the most competitive and thrilling yet. The Kinitar Premier Division is writing its own history - let's meet the authors.

Amzaberg United
ImageImageImage
Last season: 13th
Nickname: Blue Pumas
Stadium: Ta Enčara, Amzaberg (37,130)
Manager: Janik Ondruskev
This Amzaberg team is a completely different animal from the one which was relegated from this league in humiliating fashion four years ago. After storming to the B-League title, they finished in a solid mid-table position and have shown themselves worthy of a place amongst Kinitar football's elite. A superb home record meant that they were never really in any danger of relegation, but it was hardly likely that they'd finish anywhere near the top half. Now, with some smart investment, Ondruskev has cabled his intention to build a side which is capable of competing with the country's best. The team's leaky defence has been improved with some new signings, and it could be that we're about to see the start of a glorious new era for Amzaberg. That will still be some way away yet, though.
Prediction: 9th

Atletika Vanuku
ImageImageImage
Last season: B-League, 3rd
Nickname: Zebras
Stadium: Arena Atletikii, Vanuku (28,400)
Manager: Paolo Ilkiev
Last time Atletika were in the Premier Division, they got here through the B-League playoffs. They proceeded to occupy the bottom spot in the table from the first day to the last, and found themselves unceremoniously dumped in the lower reaches once more. This time, though, they show a bit more promise. They were unlucky not to be promoted outright, and a 3-0 win against Ščela Rapide in the playoff final showed their determination to do better this time. They have the squad to do better, and they also have a better manager in the form of Paolo Ilkiev, who is making his bow at this level. He completely revamped the squad which was relegated in 3475, so they're a bit of an unknown quantity at present, but one which has more than enough skill to stay up comfortably.
Prediction: 13th

Avnani Athletic
ImageImageImage
Last season: 8th
Nickname: Polar Bears
Stadium: Parc Semnal, Avnani (41,200)
Manager: Kipra Kaplani
Avnani have developed the habit of finishing every season in an uninspiring mid-table position - by the time the season's reaching its conclusion, Avnani fans are used to all the excitement being finished for them. They're nothing if not consistent, and plodded along to an eighth-placed finish last campaign. Kipra Kaplani appears determined to introduce his own brand of excitement to Avnani's game, one which seems to preferably involve a couple of opposition players ending the game with broken legs, although he vehemently denies that his team plays dirty. They have failed to impress in the transfer window, and unless they experience an uncharacteristic run of form in the coming season, it looks like they can prepare for yet another safe mid-table season.
Prediction: 10th

Chyri
ImageImageImage
Last season: 14th
Nickname: Rebels
Stadium: Stadion Chyri (53,810)
Manager: vacant
Chyri have became the first team in the Premier Division to turn their kits into a political issue, after it was revealed that they would line up this season wearing shirts which borrow very heavily on the symbolism of the flag used by separatists in the volatile Chyr region. This has not impressed many in Kinitaria, and does little to alleviate the grudge which most of the league seems to have against them, but then again, "no-one likes them and they don't care". On the field, last season was a miserable disappointment, their worst-ever finish leading to the sacking of manager Photius Chyba, for whom no replacement has yet been found. While Kinitar nationalists would delight in this team's demise, last season was a blip and, as long as they appoint the right manager, it's not likely to happen again.
Prediction: 8th

Čilibeni Town
ImageImageImage
Last season: 11th
Nickname: Wolves
Stadium: Stadion Lupari (30,000)
Manager: Devis Hajdari
When Čilibeni were promoted two years ago, they were going to fail. They were dead men walking, doomed before the season had even begun. Except that they're now on the back of two superb mid-table finishes and enjoying life in the Premier League very well, thank you very much. But they're hardly an established side, and there have been some off-field problems. The club's slipped into financial problems and is unable to maintain the spending that got them to be a mid-table side in the first place. Some key players have had to leave in order for them to balance the books, and they now face a slide back down the table. It's hard to see them going down with the squad they've got, but if they lose any more of their first team, worry will set in at the Lupari.
Prediction: 16th

AFC Damaciu
ImageImageImage
Last season: 7th
Nickname: Sky Blues, Sailors
Stadium: Arena Damacii (38,370)
Manager: Rumen Zupanič
Damaciu are very much a team on the up, and have been for some time. Zupanič is creating a legacy, which is something that few managers have managed to do in the Premier Division's short existence. His team play rapid counter-attacking football, and Damaciu have been a couple of good signings away from a UICA place for a couple of years now. This time, it looks as though they've found the squad balance that they need. Zupanič reportedly turned down an under-the-table offer from Mi'ato City to continue building his Damaciu dynasty, and it looks as though his loyalty to his team will be rewarded. They can put together fantastic runs of form, and if they do it again this season, it's going to be very difficult for anyone to stand in their way.
Prediction: 4th

Dinamo Leninberg
ImageImageImage
Last season: B-League, 1st
Nickname: Portmen
Stadium: Arena V. I. Lenin, Leninberg (37,100)
Manager: Boris Gorinič
Leninberg were in this division once before. They found it too hard to deal with, and a very thinly stretched squad was relegated at the first attempt. Now, they're back, and not much looks like changing. Five members of their first choice XI were relegated two years ago, and despite storming to the B-League championship, they've once again failed to invest well, and once again they're going to find the top flight a very difficult struggle. Their football is very basic at times, and while their attack is fairly capable, their defence is often to be found full of holes and making simple mistakes. If they could cut out these mistakes, they'd be looking at the capability of surviving easily, but as it is, they're going to have to put in a superhuman effort to even climb out of the bottom three.
Prediction: 19th, relegated

Dinamo Paleu
ImageImageImage
Last season: 9th
Nickname: Dinamo
Stadium: Stadion "Dinamo", Paleu (43,360)
Manager: Sulamit Rustemcič
Paleu are another team who find it difficult to break out of the upper-mid-table positions, but unlike Avnani, they give their fans some excitement while doing so. A strong UICA campaign last season was unfortunately disrupted by injury and Paleu slipped down the table late on, but it's enough to give supporters hope, and they'll be confident of pressing on this season. They've got the resources to do so, being one of the healthiest teams in the country, financially speaking, and Rustemcič is a smart manager who's good at getting the best out of his team... so maybe this could be the season it all comes together for them. The fact that they play their home matches at altitude doesn't do them any damage either. They'll be an outside bet for a UICA place.
Prediction: 5th

Fojvalva Dragons
ImageImageImage
Last season: 12th
Nickname: Dragons
Stadium: The Dragons' Lair, Fojvalva (36,940)
Manager: Talim Ciumak
The Dragons have slipped into the bottom half of the table over the past couple of seasons, something which is a matter of concern for club directors and has left Talim Ciumak's position hanging by a thread. The talk of them being sucked into a relegation fight is probably overhyped, but there's the feeling that if they don't improve over the next couple of seasons, they're going to be in some trouble. Unfortunately, I don't see them showing much improvement over the coming campaign, with the board refusing to risk the club's financial stability by spending wildly on new players. The problem is that they urgently need new players - they limped to the end of last season with half a squad, and they're going to be kept in that position if the funds aren't made available.
Prediction: 15th

Inovita
ImageImageImage
Last season: 17th
Nickname: Red Warriors
Stadium: Parc Četatii, Inovita (47,200)
Manager: Peter Komorov
The murmurings of discontent are being heard at the Četatii. Inovita escaped relegation on the last day of last season. They're too big to go down, which is why former manager Bedri Yurkovič got the boot for almost proving this claim wrong. Peter Komorov's appointment has not caused euphoria amongst the Inovita faithful - he's a manager with zero Premier Division experience and whose most notable achievement to date is a 12th-place finish in the B-League with Olimpia Mi'ato. It's easy enough to diagnose the problem at Inovita, which is that the club has had some deep-lying structural problems for some time yet. The issue is whether Komorov can do anything about it, and most people agree that he can't. They're in deep trouble this season, and it's going to be a nerve-wracking one yet again.
Prediction: 17th

Junulara Fojvalva
ImageImageImage
Last season: 15th
Nickname: Youth
Stadium: Stadion Junularii, Fojvalva (32,740)
Manager: Abas Lasič
Junulara's last season was one in which they were always just above the relegation zone, and constantly looking over their shoulder, which provided a nerve-wracking experience for fans. They've been circling the drain for a couple of years now, and a revival looks close to impossible. They can't seem to score enough goals, and Lasič seems unwilling to change his formation or rotate his team, which has brought the terraces against him. He still has the backing of the boardroom, and that could prove to be Junulara's fatal mistake. Since 1. Maja were relegated last year, Fojvalva became the only city outside of the capital to have more than one team in the Premier Division - but it looks for all the world as though Junulara are about to put a stop to that.
Prediction: 18th, relegated

Kasmenai Phoenix
ImageImageImage
Last season: 10th
Nickname: Phoenix
Stadium: Ter Komunada, Kasmenai (24,000)
Manager: Bentan Kostenčev
One of the infamous "cult clubs" of Kinitar football, Kasmenai gatecrashed the Premier Division party two years ago, and they, along with their raucous band of fans, have been having a good time ever since. They've slotted right into the mid-table positions and made the Komunada into a hostile and inhospitable place for visiting fans and supporters, which is reflected in their superb home record. A couple more seasons of solid performances will have them well on their way to establishing themselves as a Premier Division side, and despite their small squad, they work well as a unit and manage to stay relatively injury-free, so it's always a possibility. They won't get much further than mid-table, but that would still be a fantastic return for them and their fans.
Prediction: 14th

Litora United
ImageImageImage
Last season: 4th
Nickname: Pirates, Bears
Stadium: Stadion Munisipaliya, Litora (47,500)
Manager: Lenta Drevensek
On the face of it, Litora seem to be the Lazarus of Kinitar football. The former top-four side were spiralling into financial crisis and looking doomed until Lenta Drevensek took the reins and steered the club to glory once more. But the truth is, the problems were never that terrible in the first place, regardless of what the media hype might have made out, and the reality is that Litora are once again a very good top-four side capable of achieving more. The solid defence is able to grind out tough results, and it has been bolstered by the signing of national keeper Costin Petran from relegated 1. Maja. They're not short of attacking firepower either, but it's their stinginess at the back that makes the Munisipaliya such an imposing place to visit. They've got great things ahead of them.
Prediction: 3rd

Mi'ato
ImageImageImage
Last season: Champions
Nickname: Lions
Stadium: Stadion "Lumar Beqiri", Mi'ato (67,270)
Manager: Talim Hirkov
Here they are, the champions. They came so close to completing a famous quintuple, but fell in the cup final, and also lost the Atlantian Oceania Champions' League to Turoki Tide after extra time. After winning the Premier Division at a canter, the fans are expectant of more success, and it's hard to see anyone stopping them from getting it. Their attacking 4-3-3 formation can blitz any team away, and they scored five goals on no less than six occasions in the league last season. All the momentum is with Mi'ato, but complacency has been a slight issue with this side. As long as they don't let it get the better of them, they'll be fine, and while they might not blow away the field, it's hard to see where else a title challenger is going to come from in this campaign.
Prediction: 1st, champions

Mi'ato City
ImageImageImage
Last season: 3rd
Nickname: City, Falcons
Stadium: Stadion Orašii, Mi'ato (69,000)
Manager: Yelman Ilievič
The once-great City team is showing the strain. The forward line which was once the dread of all Kinitaria is aging and not as potent as they were just two years ago. They finished last season without a trophy and even dropped out of the top two in the league, failing to trouble their hated rivals from across the capital all season. With this in mind, the fact that Yelman Ilievič even has a job is surprising. A poor start to the season could seal his fate. But there is hope for the City faithful. Luka Sabčot carried the team on his back last season, and Kinitaria's idol will play a pivotal part if they are to regain their crown. The team and staff have learned their lesson from the last campaign and won't be surrendering quite so tamely this time around. But it still looks as though it's just beyond them.
Prediction: 2nd

Revolučia
ImageImageImage
Last season: B-League, 2nd
Nickname: Comrades
Stadium: Stadion Revolusii, Damaciu (35,200)
Manager: Costin Rinbor
The only team in this season's lineup to have never played in the top flight before, this small club has a fascinating history - its name derives from its time as a plaything of the former Communist government, and they've been known as something of an outcast club at times. Now, though, they're in the Premier Division on merit, having fought a strong campaign in the second tier to get here. The only problem is that their squad doesn't really look suited for life in the top tier. Costin Rinbor is a capable manager, but this club just doesn't have the funds to really push on in the Premier Division. Despite Rinbor's tactical capability, the Revolučia squad don't look up to the job of staying in this division, and they'll probably be fortunate to avoid humiliation.
Prediction: 20th, relegated

FC Serenberg
ImageImageImage
Last season: 5th
Nickname: Blues
Stadium: Stadion Republicana, Serenberg (49,830)
Manager: Elbis Vargo
Last season, Serenberg were denied a Globe Cup spot following a late stutter which saw them finish seven points behind fourth-placed Litora. They have often had trouble keeping up their momentum, which has ruined most of their recent seasons thanks to a horrible run in or around mid-season. Vargo looked to have patched that up, but this remarkably inconsistent team have lost their key goalscorer, Valara Kičo, to an injury sustained in the penultimate game of last season, and which will keep him out for half of this campaign - given that Serenberg are a textbook definition of a one-man side, this is going to hit them hard. They had their chance last season, and they're not likely to sneak into the UICA places in this one, but their fans can always dream.
Prediction: 7th

Spartak Rexitova
ImageImageImage
Last season: 16th
Nickname: Spartak
Stadium: Arena "Spartak", Rexitova (38,400)
Manager: Viestur Aliu
Relegation was a humiliating prospect for a club which had considered itself one of the biggest in Kinitaria, but they bounced back at the first attempt and secured their league status with two games to go. Survival was an acceptable aim on their first season back, but it will not be in their second. The Spartak board have been known to be dangerously impatient at times, and they want to see their five-year plan of making Spartak one of the biggest teams in the nation once more fulfilled. Whether they have the capacity to do so remains to be seen, but their plan for gradual improvement looks like paying off, and a few good new signings indicate that Spartak will be looking to finish a bit higher up the table this time around.
Prediction: 11th

Unione de Fule
ImageImageImage
Last season: 6th
Nickname: Pikemen
Stadium: Stadion Proletari, Fule (41,520)
Manager: Alois Kaleman
Kaleman took the reins at Fule last season, and has since imposed on them his bruising, physical style of play, as well as bringing in the solid spine that such a style would demand. It's gained them a few critics, who claim that they try to shut down the game with negative "anti-football", but Fule fans won't care if they can finish in the top half every season. Which brings us to the problem - they were found out somewhat towards the end of the last campaign, and opponents found their gameplay easier to deal with, and Kaleman found himself too often without a plan B. A minor reorganisation is needed, but this Fule team should have enough in them to get at least a good mid-table finish. Anything above that is probably beyond them unless they change their strategy.
Prediction: 12th

Universita Tirinthea
ImageImageImage
Last season: 2nd
Nickname: Students
Stadium: Stadion Universitii, Tirinthea (40,000)
Manager: Emanuel Stofan
Following an amazing season in which Tirinthea became the first to break the duopoly of the capital's clubs, and even claimed the Proletarian Shield whispers have been going round of even greater things next season. Could the title be on its way to Tirinthea? Well, no, probably not, since their success last season was based on an incredibly tight defence which has lost two of its members in the close season, and Stofan has proven incapable of replacing them. This is still a very good Tirinthea side, there's no doubt about that, but anyone hoping for a repeat of last season's incredible campaign is probably going to be disappointed. They're still very much UICA material, but there's also a good chance of them not achieving even that.

(late, but I discovered it late so lol)
THE SIDEBURN PREMIERSHIP
The Premiership is the highest echelon of New Sideburn sport, and it shows. With packed stadiums, high funding and heated competition for the top spot, New Sideburn's tendency towards physical, high-pressure styles of play lead towards many, many beautiful goals, and nearly as many sickening injuries. The maximum of five foreign players per team encourages home-grown talent, and removal of the sex barrier in 1978 lead to the national talent going towards one object.

Below, last season's standings (including those promoted from The First Division)
1 - Sabrefell Athletic
2 - Crisisbless
3 - Sabrefell Moths
4 - AFC Treason
5 - Maximum City
6 - Brinemouth
7 - North Laithland
8 - Vermillion Rage
9 - AFC Integabad
10 - AFC Rochford
11 - Chenoworth Rovers
12 - Goodfeather FC
13 - Parrhesia United
14 - Southfell United
15 - Leopolis Hatemongers
16 - Valkyrja Hawks
17 - South Laithland
18 - Leicard Crimewave
19 - Raging Fire Hares
20 - Chenoworth Harriers
----------------------------
21 - Orbital Bombardment
22 - Crisisbless United
23 - Franchise FC
24 - Brookford Otters

1 - Mainstream Fist
2 - Violence Chariots
3 - Newrook Democracy
4 - Rhagant Schadenfreude

And now our preview of the next season;

The Sabrefell Moths, the dominant side in the Sideburn Premiership, hail from southwestern Sabrefell and play in the colours of New Sideburn itself; green and black. The Rosewood Ampitheatre has been home to a number of triumphs since the Federation of the New League; specifically, nine. Last season, however, was a disappointing one, as they allowed rivals Athletic to claim the title by a decisive five points; this season, new manager Chase Beardsley is determined to reclaim pole position.

Athletic fought ferociously and tenaciously under manager Darren Freepress to earn a first victory in six years, and they look in good stead to defend it. Athletic's secret was not dropping points to low-placed teams; all three of their defeats came to teams in the top six, and they won every match against the bottom six. Their team is practically intact from last season, and if anything a year of experience has only improved their youthful squad. Tied favourites to claim the title, Crisisbless equalling their odds.

After a strong showing last year, and a victory the year before, Treason are looking to reclaim their title this year. A brutal side relying on the height and power of their star striker Karel Headlock, their manager Ivan Knightly has expressed a desire to 'pummel the southerners into oblivion'. Their first victory was held by some as a fluke; this season, they might just put those critics to rest.

Maximum City is known for tough defences, and this season was no exception; City managed fifth place despite an early exit in the Cup, and conceded fewer goals than any other side in the NSP. However, their offence lacked punch at times, and they were, ultimately, uninspired, never looking like they would really mount a challenge for first place. But new manager Pearce Aimbot looks ready to change all this; he's young, hungry, and has a moustache. A dark horse for the bookies.

Brinemouth's sudden ascension from mediocrity catapulted them thirteen places last season, from lowly and struggling nineteenth to a mighty sixth, built largely on purchasing Slam Kegstand and Mycroftette Drinkwater, both powerful, surging forwards, and having veteran wingers to give them chances. Brinemouth's central midfield is shaky, however, and its defence could use shoring up, particularly with a nineteen-year old No. 1. Manager Kyle Steelteeth is unafraid, however; "The lad'll learn as he goes along."
Home Colours: White and blue stripes, black, blue
Away Colours: Green, blue, blue

Second on goal difference last season, and just five points off first (with a better goal difference than Athletic, as well), Crisisbless are an incredibly capable team with strength all throughout the side, and will put up a strong fight for first. Last season brought cup glory, but now veteran manager Hew Irongut wants more, and Crisisbless, with their consistent and powerful squad, might very plausibly make the double.

Representing the vast strip of land to the north of Treason, based in a country town with a population barely double that of Laith Stadium's capacity, North Laithland have always struggled with capacity. They always, however, put on a good show for their guests, and last season's success in the Premiership was matched by a second-placed finish in the Cup, only faltering at the last to Crisisbless 2-1. Graham Graemesson, then manager, was disgusted, saying only "Second place is first loser," before moving to Iron City.

Vermillion provided the usual entertaining and bloodthirsty run for first this season, ultimately falling short due to lacking much of a coherent gameplan. Still, charging their massive, yet surprisingly pacy front three forward while their defence smashes anyone who gets within shooting range has proven very satisfying, and Pavel Workingclasshero seems to have no inclination towards changing it.

A powerful side from foreign-but-nearby Integristan, Integabad may be relatively new (nine years since first making it to the top flight) but they're determined and they have what it takes. Managers Gerhard Force and Kilroy Lagerton have marshalled a team strong in defence and stronger in the counter-attack; weakness may come with injury, however, as their team is a little on the shallow side.

Another Integristan team, Leopolis were cagey and often uncertain last season. Hopefully the arrival of renowned manager Roy Sterling will sharpen them up and give them the killing edge they've lacked. Cover arrived in the off-season for their aging midfield, and they should be well-equipped this season to secure themselves in mid-table.

AFC Rochford managed to attract crowds in their small dock town, even as they struggled with the label of 'most forgettable Premiership club' in a general ballot of the people. Still, they're the only club that Rochford has, and they're grossly overperforming to match. A rock at home, although their often inferior natural quality shows through away. Dave Savage aims to fix this, possibly with force.

Rovers put up a good fight last season, but ultimately did nothing to deserve higher than another mid-table place. But their two star players are likely to leave this post-season, and how will Rovers fare deprived of a superb right-winger and centre-back, the latter being their captain? Manager Mike Michaels has hired rather unconvincing and somewhat aging replacements in Kenneth Knave and Snake Chokehold, but they have, if nothing else, experience. Rovers will probably survive this season, but their backs could be up against the wall.

The Leicard Crimewave, who struggled last season with poor offence and low turnout, are looking at another relegation struggle this season. Former manager Steed Flexington was fired at the end of last season, but can Rylisa Suplex bring better fortunes to the club? Even if not, the Crimewave bring a strong defensive line to the Premiership, and will not go down without a fight.

Goodfeather achieved safe mediocrity this season so soon after promotion, their solid defence and slow, possessive play managing to outlast and defeat teams with skilful, incisive play. However, there were several moments in which they simply found themselves overrun with fast play, and manager Ivanna von Carthy will be looking to shore up their play against these sides. Another source of concern is their tendency to win small or lose big; 5-1 to Crisisbless, 6-0 to the Moths, 7-0 to North Laithland, and 8-3 AND 7-1 to Vermillion consigned Goodfeather to a cripplingly bad goal difference. Still, if they can shore all this up, Goodfeather have something good to build on this upcoming season.

Parrhesia, a small city in the very northeast of New Sideburn, proved themselves as the draw specialists of last season with 21 from 46 games. Parrhesia was usually quick off the mark, but sloppy finishing, or else a leaky defence, often let them down in the end. Manager Edmund Agincourt will be hoping to improve on his side's inconsistency and shaky form in time for next season; if he can manage that, Parrhesia can expect a top 10 finish. Otherwise, with another season like this? His head's on the chopping block.

The Harriers were hampered by several minor issues last season; a leaky defence, an aging midfield and uninspired strikers. Still, a last gasp streak of five unbeaten, three draws and two wins against fellow strugglers Orbital and Brookford managed to barely keep Chenoworth up. Still, with a strong contingent of teams just promoted, Chenoworth and manager Keyth Leapfrog face an uphill struggle to survive.

Southfell managed to do a lot on a shoestring budget last season; many had tipped them as an outside candidate for relegation after they seemed to blow more money on their new stadium than on actual players. However, manager Bridget Lastgasp managed to overcome an admittedly frail back line with a pure offense that overwhelmed much more expensive sides, and Southfell managed several upsets to achieve comfortable fourteenth. This season, however, they will be hoping to expand on this, and after reaching the semis last season must surely have an eye to the Cup...

Credit where it's due, the Schadenfreude had a seemingly watertight defence last season, and massive target woman Marcia Cyclops was top scorer in the division. However, their rather tactless mode of play may find difficulty in the high technique of the Premiershp this season. Can Ruth Tungsten's long ball play carve out survival for Rhagant, or will the rapid passing of the likes of Southfell and Newrook overwhelm them?

The Democracy have a team composed of homegrown youngsters, able to provide a smooth passing game to bear that has proven very pleasing to the eye. But their greatest struggles may lie off the pitch; will influential manager Spike Turnbull stay at the club another season? Or will the temptation of a trophy prove too much? At any rate, their swift play and high rates of possession mean that they'll almost definitely be able to keep up to Premiership football standards, and almost nobody tips them to go down. Almost.

Immensely fit and well-drilled defensively, Raging Fire have high hopes for success. Player-manager Reece Hughton claims "We'll go half the season with clean sheets, make a clean break to the top!" Unlikely, given key losses in the off-season to other, larger clubs, but still good as a bet for the Top 10. But can they get the goals they need?

Hailing from Sakusa's capital, the Hawks (known to locals as 'The Unpronounceables') are a capable and well-balanced team, headed by local 38-year old Stefan Claret. "I brought the Hawks to the top flight two years ago," says Claret, "and in two years more I'll have the Premiership trophy, too." Their strength lies in a lack of definable weaknesses. Their weakness, predictably, is their utter mediocrity in general. Will be lucky to finish in the top half.

Promoted for the first time last season, the Violence Chariots (hailing from Violence, a suburb in southeastern Sabrefell) hope to spring into form early on. South Laithland simply lacked the confidence and killer edge of their northern cousins, and as a result were ten places below them. Treason, too, enjoyed a strong place, and South Laithland found themselves wanting by comparison. However, it was a strong all-around team with a lot of talent and heart, just bad luck and the unfortunate tendency to give away early goals. Greg Lyonheart will be looking to shore up his defences, and if he manages that his team could well be capable of anything.

The Premiership Season As It Stands

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AoJnN4QX26wBdFNvelh3SllOeXBuaTRqeVVNMXNVdHc#gid=3

Midway through the season, and we really have gotten the kind of action we'd been hoping for. At the top of the table, Sabrefell Moths look to be over the defeat of last season, seasoned goalkeeper Asger Stubbs leading them to success. And yet, it's their superb offense, capable of breaking through any line, that secures their position with a colossal tally of 63. 17 of those were scored by target-man Gerhard Thunder, whose partnership with wingers Emma Cliving and Cheney Rosewood has proven incredible. However, a recent lapse in form has allowed perennial runners-up Crisisbless to attain second place a point behind. With just two losses in twenty-three, Crisisbless have an unmatched consistency and unity of purpose, particularly in their back four - the tightest in the division. Striker Alicia Scabbard, recently selected as New Sideburn's national left striker, sheds light on this;

"Yeah, it's just like, we know we failed last season, second place just isn't good enough. And so we don't want to settle for that again, and if we keep this up, put the pressure on the green half of Sabrefell, I think they're gonna crack before we do. Look at their results; five losses. This just isn't a consistent enough team to outlast us."

Pearce Aimbot's Maximum City overcame a tepid start to the season to overcome Sabrefell Athletic in the race for third. At one point leading the standings, the reigning champions have struggled to regain their killing edge; for example, last season's side would never have petered out to a weak scoreless draw against struggling but tenacious Leicard. Maximum City have been exuberant recently, and if recent form keeps up they could definitely be title challengers.

AFC Treason, too, have had a somewhat lacklustre season, and currently sit fifth on goal difference. Settling for a draw seven different times simply isn't good enough, and although they went the first eleven games unbeaten, they're just dropping too many points, and not killing games off. The last side that could be said to be in the running for champions are Southfell United, valiantly outfighting far more expensive teams with their homegrown talent. Their defence may be a little fragile at times, but they've more than shown they have what it takes, and everyone's watching.

Vermillion Rage are their usual, belligerent self. Remarkably, they have scored the most goals in the division; they've conceded the second-most as well. While this does run very much in their ethos, one cannot help but feel that maybe by this stage they could use a fourth defender... AFC Integabad's Jorge Georgio, for example, who has this to say on his team's success;

"Well it's a matter of tenacity, and we've just been holding on and getting a tight grip on things. Could we finish in the top five? Maybe. It'd take a bit of luck. Obviously we're all aiming for first but every step towards it counts, and in a couple of years maybe the whole league will take us seriously as contenders."

Newrook Democracy and Parrhesia United have both had remarkable seasons, Newrook coming up from the First Division to take the world by storm. Parrhesia, meanwhile, have just been passing the opposition to death in every match; they've got the highest possession rates in the league. Both sides are free-flowing and entertaining to watch, and one hopes they'll manage to stick it out this season.

A seven-point gulf seperates Parrhesia and the mid-table cluster of Violence Chariots, Raging Fire Hares, Brinemouth and North Laithland. Each has its own major flaw, it seems; Violence has won nine but it also lost ten, Raging Fire's lone striker isn't picking up the slack with just eight goals all season, Brinemouth's inconsistent as hell and shows no signs of achieving sixth again and Laithland's just mediocre in every respect.

Leopolis Hatemongers started brightly enough but they've sank back down to fifteenth, and they simply do not protect their leads as well as they should; they may have seven hard-fought wins, but their five draws and eleven losses have too often been sloppily conceded. Chenoworth Rovers had a panic earlier in the season but look to have stabilised, as do South Laithland who never looked as though they belonged in the relegation zone to begin with. AFC Rochford's home form is usually crucial to their success; problem is, they haven't managed it this season, and they might just be sucked into a relegation scrap.

Things look bleak for the bottom six. Leicard Crimewave are doughty in defence but tepid and feeble in attack; 33 conceded is solid for where they stand in the table, but a sickening 13 scored is second-worst in the league. Chenoworth Harriers are in a familiar position; they came 20th last season, spared in the last day of the season. They look fragile and uncertain, and are only ahead of 21st-place Rhagant Schadenfreude by virtue of goal difference. Rhagant have been hampered by the loss of creative winger Ella Bramwell, and their targetmen have lacked for supply; with Bramwell returning from injury two days ago, this could mean a surge in form. That's trouble for Valkyrja Hawks, whose form has gone from bad to worse all season, with a tendency to get minced by the slightest hint of strength. Goodfeather FC are not a side you'd expect to see here, and yet their defence has had the approximate structural stability of a damp house of cards. And finally, Mainstream Fist? For all the hype, they have eleven points to show for it. Newrook have thirty-nine. The Fist have a mountain to climb, and it just does not look possible anymore.

Starting next week; brief highlights from every match.
The old ways were best!

Mapletish Fotbul League Season VII

Postby Mapletish » Thu Feb 14, 2013 5:34 am

Mapletish Fotbul League Season VII Preview

Sweeping league reforms and major reconstruction of the entire league system after two seasons, additional funding and re-organisation for all the clubs. And with clubs disbanded and a handful of clubs renamed, new clubs orgainsed and created to replace those clubs that were disbanded. What now? The move has been useful for Maplish clubs as integration to the main league structure is difficult. In the new league structure, only 128 clubs will be in the 4 division league structure. An FA Cup and League Cup would still be on hand for the 128 clubs to challenge for. So some things go and some things come, why not try out the new system?

Mapletish Fotbul League Season VII

Season VII proved to be a real stunner as Golden Phoniex failed to put their best foot forward as they failed to beat arch rivals Home United to the title with a 14 points gap. Golden Eagles failed to live up to their standards as they struggled to a disappointing season, failing to steer clear from relegation with just five points from safety.

Down to the other divisions, Djax continued their way up the league structure, with mega rich owners at their backing, the only thing that is bothering them would be their consistency. New Portland Rovers failed to live up to their standards as they struggled to make an impact on Liga Four on their debut season. In Liga One, Lazio came in a disappointing last to take home with and face relegation to Liga Two.

In Stars Championships, SC Milan and Internazionale made early exits from contention for the Premier League promotion battle as inconsistency pulled both clubs down as they made history to be the first pair of rivals to be relegated from the top two divisions of the league pyramid.

In Liga One, Accrington United win the Liga One title with ease prior to their re-financing plan, the most significant in the league, as they were the heaviest indebted club in the league pyramid with a debt of M$ 750 million prior to the construction of their new stadium after promotion the top flight, however their promotion was deem invalid and relegated to Liga One.

And here we are for the sixth edition of the Heritage Cup.

This edition marks the first time the tournament was downsized, from the 32 nations of before to 24. However, there are still new faces coming in, with the additions of Balm, Chun-nan and Matthewsiania. Keeping the elimination format of previous tournaments, not it features a playoff round, where the lower ranked teams play against each other, the winners making it to the round of 16.

Korriga (DAI) 3–0 McDuck Football (DUC)
McDuck Football (DUC) 0–1 Korriga (DAI) (0-4 agg)

A wash for the favorites. Of the teams that went out of the playoff rounds, only two remained. The first was Orochi, who managed to beat HQ Astronauts at Megamania and kept a draw at home to clinch their spot. The second was Unión de Gai Bang, which overcame a home deficit to beat nothing less than XV Bremen, one of the stalwarts of the Heritage. Apart from that, we had spectacular victories from Armée de la Déesse, Duzbaelum and Sportivnyi Lokomotivy, along with a Liu Keng Mau hat-trick against McDuck Football.

QUARTER-FINALS

Unión de Gai Bang (LAS) 3–1 Lorelei eeVees (NSI)
Lorelei eeVees (NSI) 4–1 Unión de Gai Bang (LAS) (5-4 agg)

São Perebano (CAP) 1–1 Duzbaelum (QLU)

Sportivnyi Lokomotivy (FLO) 0–3 Korriga (DAI)
Korriga (DAI) 0–0 Sportivnyi Lokomotivy (FLO) (3-0 agg)

Unión de Gai Bang shows they weren't a fluke by taking the eeVees to the ropes, while São Perebano confirms the tradition of Capivara teams. Armée wins out against Orochi from a sole home goal, while Korriga cashes out on a hefty away advantage (courtesy of another Liu Keng Mau hat-trick) to keep their hopes of a new title up.

SEMI-FINALS

Lorelei eeVees (NSI) 4–1 São Perebano (CAP)
São Perebano (CAP) 0–3 Lorelei eeVees (NSI) (1-7 agg)

Armée de la Déesse (KDE) 0–0 Korriga (DAI)
Korriga (DAI) 1–1 Armée de la Déesse (KDE) (1–1 AET) (1-1 agg) (3–2 pen.)

Armée and Korriga re-enact the very first Heritage Cup final, but this time the Daineri team emerges victorious after a grueling pair of matches. Meanwhile, the eeVees crush São Perebano and stablish themselves as legitimate title contenders. All four teams head to the Eggman Empire's space territory for what will be surely the most scenic pair of matches in Heritage Cup history.

THIRD PLACE MATCH
Death Egg Stadium, Death Egg, Eggman Empire
São Perebano (CAP) 0–2 Armée de la Déesse (KDE)

FINAL
Death Egg Stadium, Death Egg, Eggman Empire
Lorelei eeVees (NSI) 1–1 Korriga (DAI) (1–1 AET) (3–2 pen.)

Neither the eeVees exuberance and grit, nor the talent of Korriga's goalscorers, could decide the match. It all came down to the nerve-wracking lottery of penalty kicks. With this, the eeVees become the first Sunrisian team to win the Heritage Cup. Not bad for a young team that seemed to be facing legitimacy concerns back home. eeVees player Natsu Tsukahime was the top scorer, with 9 goals, and will take home a hefty individual prize in Gold Bars Worth More Than Money(tm).

Another year, another season. As the national side ruminate on yet another chance to push on and take the next level, the club sides did the same thing in the UICA competitions last season. As a result, there has been plenty of strong competition on the pitch this season, and fans were thrilled (or not so thrilled, depending on your loyalties) to see the title come down to the last game of the season.

Yes, with the lower two divisions already settled, and AS Débardeurs Nationale already guaranteed to finish fifth, we knew that the big four had retured to claim the top four spots in the league. But, in what order? And would it be the same order come the end of the day?

So, Caballeros were holding the position of ultimate power going into the final day, sitting on top of the pile as they did, albeit on goal difference after losing their last two matches. Conquistadores were on a run of great form, winning thirteen of their last fifteen games, and had reduced the deficit at the top to mere goal difference. Two goals was all there was between the top two, a particularly important factor when you consider the fact their last games of the season were each against teams at the bottom - Internazionale and Sommieres Hibernia, both of whom were scrapping for their lives to stay in the division with only goal difference separating them too! Such drama. Behind the top two there was also Condensadores, who could win their sixty-third title and first for seventeen years if they beat Olimpico Oasi and the top two both failed to win. Of course, Ossidianense CF had a chance of staying up if they could defeat Nationale, and Qolo-Qolo had a very outside shot at the title themselves, but in reality all eyes were on the matches in Sant'Elia and Sommieres.

Stunningly, it was Sommieres who struck both first and second - when two early strikes from young strikers Carlo Macho stunned Conquistadores and put the relegation strugglers in the driving seat, leaping above Internazionale in the table and into sixteenth place and safety. That safety was underlined halfway through the first half, when midfielder Elia Quintera rifled home a free kick for Caballeros, meaning the top side put a stamp on the league title already.

But, of course, the Campiocinato means guaranteed drama, and so it proved when a double from Delvecchio just before half time brought the reigning champions level in Sommieres. The second goal, a long range effort that bounced off both posts before flying in, was particularly impressive.

With the second half kicking off, Internazionale knew they needed at least a point with Hibernia currently drawing, and they set out to put a dent in the Caballeros title party with some fine play just after the restart. Kossi Fiorentino had been one of the capital city club's strongest performers over the course of the season, and he qualified his continued inclusion in la Renaissance squads with a fine run and slotted finish to draw the club level on goals with Caballeros, and level on points with Sommieres. Fiorentino was instrumentally involved as the away side defied expectations to go two goals to the good up, as well, as his cross was turned in by Bonelli at the far post. Against the odds, Internazionale were now two goals to one up against Caballeros, and the title was headed in Conquistadores' direction.

Or at least, it was for a moment, until Didier Patricio's header for Sommieres Hibernia proved that anything Internazionale could match, they could improve upon, and they went 3-2 up at home to the reigning champions, meaning that for a split second, Condensadores' winning scoreline in Oasi could hand them the title from nowhere.

It didn't last however, and with twelve minutes left on the clock, Francois Del Brasco was fouled in the box and took his own penalty for the knights to tie things up again at two-all. That single point was made into three just two minutes later, as Elia Quintana curled in a free kick for his second goal of the day. Things were looking bleak for Conquisatodores in Sommieres for the title, and all the home side had to do was hold on to leapfrog internazionale to safety.

Alas, much to their fans' disappointment, this was not something they were capable of doing, and a thunderous header from Ricardo Velasquez pulled Conquistadores right back into the match at three-all. A host of added time earlier in the match meant that they were finishing much later than the Caballeros-Internazionale game, which had finished three-two to the home side, and Conquistodores knew that as unlikely as it may seem, three more goals would win them the title.

And they tried. Oh, they tried. You had to hand it to them; they never gave up, not for a second. This was to their credit, and to Hibernia's misfortune.

With a mere thirty seconds on the clock left of normal time, veteran strike Nuno Valturri burst through the offside trap and blooted a shot from Velasquez's through ball into the back of the net. Four-three on the night, and it would deny the home side the point they needed to stay up.

The final whistles went, and that was that Caballeros had won the title. After all that excitement, the important positions had stayed exactly the same.

Saugeais (SAU) Final Site bids
Series B Champions Cup: Arrowpoint Place, Arçon (Cap. 51,000)
Image

Aside from being home to the Arçon football team, Arrowpoint Place is also the main track and field venue for Olympic delegation of Saugeais. Located on the outskirts of the city, this 51,000 capacity venue used to host numerous national college meets and trial days for many aspiring track and field stars before reconfiguration. “The Point” is also a secondary home for the national team. The stadium is located just a couple miles away from the Saugeais National Forest, which covers 10% of the total land area of the nation, and as such lumbering is one of the city’s main source of income.

Copa de Campeones: Stade Amaechi Olsen, Montbenoit (Cap. 68,500)
Image

The Football Association of Saugeais is based out of Stade de Montagne, located smack in the middle of the capital, Montbenoit. The stadium is also home to local Premier League side, Montbenoit F.C., and both have used the 68,500 all seater since its construction before World Cup 53. The stadium has hosted many of the big matches, both domestically (in Premier League and FAS Cup action) and internationally against various big name opponents. The stadium has been expanded numerous times to coincide with the continual growth of the national team, reaching its current capacity right before co-hosting the 47th Cup of Harmony.

Gordonopia Premier League
2018 Season Preview

Image
With the nation still riding off the high of its surprise World Cup semifinal appearance, football could not be in a better position in Gordonopia. Will it be a season like any other? Or will there be some real shake ups in the table, as some have been predicting?

Moving up two spots in the world, the GPL is now ranked 13th. While continued solid performances have brought some worldwide attention to the league, many fans at home are hoping that the time is ripe for Gordonopia to finally bring home a trophy. Whether it be in Series B, the Globe Cup, or even the Champions' Cup, Gordonopians are eagerly awaiting some international hardware. The competition to be the team that brings it home first will certainly be intense, though there are some front-runner candidates. Reinheim Metro is looking strong after their quarter-final run in the Champions' Cup last year. FC Deska, meanwhile, is ranked 31st in the world; if they fail to make the Champions' Cup, expect them to be a serious contender in the Globe Cup.

Teams to Watch

FC Deska

It would not be the GPL if FC Deska was not vying for a top spot. The team that has yet to finish below fifth,
Image
and third in the Gordonopia Cup, is a single win away from becoming the first team to break 100, and that's not all they hope to accomplish. Given that the team's 'Northern Wall' made up the core of the National Team's celebrated defense, the nation would be shocked if Deska failed to compete for either of the big trophies.

Union Holiday

Union Holiday? A competitor? Yes, the perennial disappointment, and lowest-winning of all of the surviving inaugural teams, not to mention the only one that has yet to make a Gordonopia Cup, may be in for a breakout year. After six of mediocrity, it seems that Holiday's heavy investment in its youth squad may be ready to pay off. A once-in-a-generation group of young players, known as the 'Holiday Five', has given the team utter dominance in the inter-academy competition, and now they are all on the senior team. Will this exciting quintet finally turn around Holiday's fortunes? Or will this season be like all the rest?

Imperial Guardian Pre-Season Power Rankings

1. FC Deska
2. Reinheim Metro
3. Kaje Football
4. Teva FC
5. Reichsburg FC
6. Gordonopia FC

Season Preview

*Denotes Captains
**Denotes Foreigner
Atlantea Hurricanes

Ground:Atlantea Coliseum 590,000
Manager:Alexander White
Colors:Blue and Green
Fan Support:Very High
Expectations:Compete for Globe Cup spot
Starters:Martin, Northcliff**, Miller, Smyth, Sebastian*,**, Yersau**, Klose, Sung Hwan*, Morris, Zaucier, Inmora**
ReservesHewitt, Latrobe, Raț**, Taft, Klassen, Klose, Lane
Sponsor:Atlantea Business Association
Nickname(s):Hurricanes, Canes
Offseason Moves:Picked up Yesopalithan’s Marcus Yersau and Park Sung Hwan after folding of Yesopalithan league.
Last Season Finish:14th
Team InfoThe end of the Yesopalithan league meant that the most successful Tae team had a chance to pick up some talent on the cheap. And they look to be set up with the playmaking winger, and a slightly less flashy Right Back for the next few years. The addition of these two players has also allowed for a switch to a 3-2-1-2-2. The ridiculous formation can only mean one thing, the Hurricanes will do anything to get back to the top…Anything.

Bayern Phoenix

Ground:Old Club Stadium 77,000
Manager:Tyler Smith
Colors:Red and Blue
Fan Support:Very High
Expectations:Compete for the Championship
Starters:Glee, Fontaine, Styles, Drummond, Russell**, Austin, Hagerty, Bauer, Pato*, Moffat, Scott
ReservesJones, Federov, Peachy, Marks, Landsaw, Baker
Sponsor:Glendale Pharmacy
Nickname(s):Phoenix
Offseason Moves:Bought CF Hollard Scott from Tar Pit, and bought LB Pantalimon Fontaine from Ying Jing Yankees.
Last Season Finish:3rd
Team InfoThird place was no cheap ticket for the Phoenix. They pushed the top two for much of the season only fading late, and very well could have been the second side in the Champions’ Cup. With no real stunning offseason moves like that of their crosstown rivals and Atlantea it may be assumed they might not hold onto their current status as top 3er’s for a long time.

Bayern-Algaer

Ground:Bayern Stadium 24,000
Manager:Miron Prentice
Colors:Red and Black
Fan Support:High
Expectations:Win League, Top Rivals Bayern Phoenix
Starters:Suarez, Faulkner, Skiles, Bubela**, Hawk, LeClerc*, Puse**, Ptolemy*, Jack-Bentley**, Shrew, Kljestan
ReservesRose, Falk, Llana, Rainn, Seifreet
Sponsor:Weaver, Smith and Wrangler
Nickname(s):Weavers
Offseason Moves:Bought CM Julien LeClerc from Les Allies in Saugeais.
Last Season Finish:2nd
Team InfoGoing out and getting a classy mid fielder to help out Isaac Jack-Bentley and Brian Kljestan was just the start of the season. Imagine what will happen if the other striker Bradley Shrew continues his form from the tail end of last season and helps out on the offensive. The championship is ripe for the taking, no one thinks Laketown can make it four, and the most likely team to knock them off is the Weavers.

Blacklake Blues

Ground:Blacklake Blues Ballpark 79,000
Manager:Karl Ash
Colors:Blue and Green
Fan Support:Medium
Expectations:Compete for Globe Cup Spot
Starters:Voorheis, Tamapher, Edu, Latrine, Saltzer, Mohammed**, Conrad, Kafka**, Salvador, McLane, Everdeen
Reserves:Fletcher, Foxtrot, Kiriashi, Galadriel, Wiggin
Sponsor:Blacklake Brewery
Nickname(s):Blues
Offseason Moves:Bought RB Dusty Latrine from Ying Jing Yankees.
Last Season Finish:7th
Team InfoAfter another round of punching above their weight it seems that Blacklake may have some problems. After buying a new Right back they had to recruit from within to fill out their roster. This means that not only is their starting 11 a sad mirage of quality behind speed, their 16 player squad is filled out by the likes of a 13, and a 14 year old. Good news is that the 13 year old is the younger brother of former child Phenom Ender Wiggin…Bad news is, Ender did not turn out to be all he was cracked up to be…Remind you of anyone?

Capetown Croc’s

Ground:Capetown Stadium 34,000
Manager:Anyell Petrius
Colors:Black and Green
Fan Support:Medium
Expectations:Shoot for Mid Table
Starters:Wanner, Walker, Georgina, Cauller, Grant, Slannet, Fox, LaChette, Ox, Ching, Ralston*
ReservesSmoker, Perkiomen, Saul, Ying Uing, Kefer
Sponsor:TMI Lighting
Nickname(s):Croc’s, The Ancients
Offseason Moves:
Last Season Finish:16th
Team InfoAnother team currently seeing the results of years of hard work trying to stay in the top flight and trying to get back to the top flight. The Blues did manage to convince Brian Ying Uing’s son Lysander to join the club instead of his father’s side pre Sanseo FC, Atlantea. Then again no one really wanted him, and for now at least hes really just proving to be a roster filler.

Docktown Deathdogs

Ground:Docktown Memorial Stadium 490,000
Manager:Bob Lee
Colors:Red, Blue and Black
Fan Support:High
Expectations:Avoid Relegation
Starters:Max, Conway, Jefferson, Tweed, Barker, Sanchez, Loch, Peterson, Quail, Cornhololio*, Farnsworth
ReservesPatrick, Soldier, Morgan, Fielder, Jackson
Sponsor:Dog Brothers Funeral Home
Nickname(s):Deathdogs
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:11th
Team InfoTheir first year back in the premier division and the Deathdogs had a very above expectations season. Finishing 11th in the league, and at times threatening to make it beyond the mid table the Deathdogs were a totally different monster than they were the season before. They might have showed too much of their hand though, as near the end of the season their results started to fade and one wonders if they can keep their surprising form up for a second season.

Fadrön Flight

Ground:Fadrön University Field 89,000
Manager:Capricorn Mayuscula
Colors:Green and Red
Fan Support:Low
Expectations:Compete for the Cup
Starters:Casanova*, Smyth, Parker, Robinson, Miller, Bodreau, Scott, Faujeau, Fiery, Flanders, Foxx
Reserves:Parks, Fitzgerald, Flanders, Argo, Parsons
Sponsor:Taeshan Air
Nickname(s):Flight, Flyers
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:4th
Team InfoAfter a subpar season two years ago the Flight turned it around last year, not only finishing in the top 10, but managing to qualify for the Globe Cup with a 4th place finish. Now they continue to look very strong and could possibly even compete for a title.

FC Tenacity

Ground:Englmarkt Arena 46,000
Manager:Zackary Villanueva
Colors:Blue, Green and Black
Fan Support:Low
Expectations:Stay mid Table
Starters:Kohler, Sommers, Jameek, Stevens, Foles, Cardinal, McHenry, Frenchie, Abreu*, Stiles, Minotaur
ReservesSlayze, Wayne, Cassleburg, Borne, Botwright
Sponsor:Englmarkt
Nickname(s):The Checkers
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:22nd
Team InfoA lackluster showing in the previous season and FC Tenacity continues to head towards a cliff that they may fall off of unless they turn things around. A continued inability to spend the millions we all know they have shown a real lack of interest in making a good team, and an interest in just piling up the funds without any seeable reason.

Knightspurs

Ground:The Dome 92,300
Manager:Konar Sanchez
Colors:Purple and Powder Blue
Fan Support:High
Expectations:Compete for Globe Cup Spot
Starters:Celani, Penterby, Provyay, Argo, Young**, Forrestor, Connor, von Hittite, Weinreich, Bouvieau, Boxer
ReservesWook Yu, Garden, Prescott, Murray, Walker
Sponsor:Tae-Mart
Nickname(s):Spurs, Knights
Offseason Moves:Bought CF Tarin Boxer from Ying Jing Yankees and LB Portia Penterby from Real Atlantea.
Last Season Finish:8th
Team InfoWith the additions of Boxer and Penterby Knightspurs has continued to keep together a solid team. Whether or not they are going to continue to play at the acceptable level they have shown lately is really up to whether or not the teams pace and skill level continues or the older players fall as the group before them did.

Laketown F.C.

Ground:Laketown Football Stadium (70,000)
Manager:Vladimir Ash
Colors:Green, Purple and Blue
Fan Support:Medium
Expectations:Avoid Relegation
Starters:Baker, Reyna, Farnsworth, Piazza, Raynor, Bondz, Guggenheim, Synclair*, Cavanaugh, Liebowitz, Partridge
ReservesLamar, Markus, Canoe, Tahara, Pontius
Sponsor:Laketown Lumber
Nickname(s):Purple Crosses
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:18th
Team InfoThe second season for the Crosses in the top division was not as forgiving as the first but they continued their stay in the top flight after a late run to keep them away from a relegation playoff. Now though the Crosses look to attempt to show the country that maybe the Rangers aren’t so special, and help to end the reign of the Rangers.

Laketown Rangers

Ground:Stadium on the Lake 90,000
Manager:Jose Williams
Colors:Blue, Blue and More Blue
Fan Support:Very High
Expectations:Win the Championship
Starters:Cataguay, Denver, Flag, Vlies, Larsen, Grgic**, Kylss, Saracin, Rousseau*,**, Rolston, Pavelski**
Reserves:Toraven, Piper, Suchomel, Mathers, Weaver
Sponsor:Laketown Police Academy
Nickname(s):Rangers
Offseason Moves:
Last Season Finish:1st
Team Info Can I get a three peat? And 4 in five. The Rangers have been unstoppable the last five seasons, strangling the whole of the Premier League. Most of it is due to the international talent from Saugeais, François Rousseau. The tea continues to poke fear in the hearts of fans around the league, and continues to dominate, but the run has to end eventually. Sure it may continue, but no one lives forever, or plays forever…

Los Riosa Monstas

Ground:Gangsters Park 99,000
Manager:Greg Loshie
Colors:Blue and Yellow
Fan Support:High
Expectations: High Middle Pack
Starters:Walcott, Fasnacht, Sanderson, Johnson, Rikke, Overland**, Tyke, Justini, Baumgarten*, **, Clapton, Ash
ReservesPaterson, Green, Lauffer, Mellinger, Quasi
Sponsor:Taeshan Mob
Nickname(s):Monstas, Gangstas
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:12th
Team InfoThe Monstas continue to play with flair familiar to those who follow the Polarian national team. Mostly because two Polarians continue to lead the charge, although neither has as yet managed to play for their national team, Los Riosa is lucky to have had them for a great few years.

Mierton Manatees

Ground:Mierton Area Park
Manager:Oscar Asailles
Colors:Blue and White
Fan Support:Low
Expectations:Avoid Relegation
Starters:Baker, Mail, Cannibus, Browley, Johnson*, Fisher, Llama, Tedesco, Aimes, Sanchez, Painter
ReservesGlazer, Dredge, Alan, Focker, Benjamin
Sponsor:No Doubt Apparel
Nickname(s):Manatees
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:1st Erste Liga
Team InfoThe Manatees managed a quick return to the top level and are looking to stay around. With a young team and lots of speed they could be a very dangerous team for others to face, and on any day could surprise their opponents.

Moresville FC

Ground:Moresville Brewery Park
Manager:Tom Gardener
Colors:Orange, and Yellow
Fan Support:Medium
Expectations:Compete for Globe Cup Spot
Starters:Stewart, Hart, Lydie*, Jaffacake, McAndrews, Hoover, Raphael, Perry, Salisbury, Dutton, Wembley
ReservesWhite, Fassiono, Lane, Parul-Mundeke, Kline
Sponsor:Moresville Brewery
Nickname(s):The Owls
Offseason Moves:Bought Kenneth Dutton from Kalta in Falconwhereveryouare
Last Season Finish:6th
Team InfoBuying a different type of striker from the international scene and continue to show the great defensive players they have had Moresville still looks to have the ability to win the league, or at least make some sort of international cup if they can just solve their issue with that area.

Mt Ceabring Thunder

Ground:Mt Ceabring Athletic Complex 10,000
Manager:Micheal Lupin
Colors:Brown and Cream

Expectations:Win the cup. Who cares what else you do?
Starters:Hassel**, Toledo, Swanson, Oosten, Street, Martan, Shanahan, Crane*, Gorchakov**, Laravy, Ford
ReservesFaulkner, Corkery, Walker, Veira, Baines
Sponsor:Kane Industries
Nickname(s):Thunder
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:15th
Team InfoAnother Fadron Pizza Cup win, but another below par finish from the Thunder. Many are starting to wonder if sacrificing the season for the cup is as good an idea as it has always been for the Thunder. Maybe if they focused more on the league they’d do more and be able to do more in the cup as well..

New Capetown Falcons

Ground:New Capetown Memorial Park 100,111
Manager:Ezekiel Wallace
Colors:Pink, Red and Grey
Fan Support:Medium
Expectations:Middle Pack
Starters:Jackson, Blake, Bates**, Ricard**, Lewis, van Tonder**, Tlumach, Connel, Sommers, Frank, Gregovich
ReservesRed, Packer, Brady, Godula, Youndt
Sponsor:Falcon Brewery
Nickname(s):Falcons
Offseason Moves:one
Last Season Finish:21st
Team InfoA season removed from a run at the Globe Cup and the Falcons turned a magical season, into a crappy one. Forced into a playoff which they handedly won, but really should never have been close to, the Falcons eyes were opened to what could happen if you forget about the real league that matters, and stop worrying about the international league that has never done you any good.

Ojian Orangemen

Ground:Ojian Principality Field 99,000
Manager:Matt Wanner
Colors:Orange and Blue
Fan Support:High
Expectations:Compete for Globe Cup spot
Starters:Salcido, Fields, Whitehorse, Dragus, Broley, Styer*, Nostradamus, Nagin**, Kreider, Kent, Walls
ReservesAnglo, Sans Feld, Pigeon, Mortimer, May
Sponsor:Orange Lake Benefit Society
Nickname(s):Orangemen
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:9th
Team InfoNot too shabby for the Orangemen. Now they have to continue on after a nice 9th place finish, and without Ryan Portmanteau a new age of Ojian football has begun, an age where anything is possible.

Real Chinchinhua

Ground:Real Stadium on the Lake 99,001
Manager:Mefusula White
Colors:Red and Purple
Fan Support:Very High
Expectations:Compete for Championship
Starters:Doller, Thomas, Sacha, Augustini**, Laake**, McCoy, Houck, Palisades*, Fullerton, Fawkes, Oberholtzer
ReservesChimes, Tarhito, Wantanabe, Micheal, Lazer
Sponsor:Water Solutions of Lake Minor
Nickname(s):Chihuahuas
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:5th
Team InfoOoh Chihuahua. Back in the Globe Cup last season and it can only get better for the men from Chinchinhua. Led by the midfield play of three Taeshani internationals at different levels, and an Antoletian backup on D, the Chihuahuas are a force to be reckoned with and will look for retribution after losing a chance to host Cup of Harmony games.

SK Nethers United FC

Ground:Netherpia Municipal Stadion 40,000
Manager:Grant Valdez
Colors:Royal Blue and Light Yellow
Fan Support:Medium
Expectations:Avoid Relegation
Starters:Jones, de Huiyten*,**, Warrener, Fox, Wiemer, Ashley, Lambrogini, Hopkins*, Hanson, Hiarchrates**, Murgatroyd
ReservesNewman, Johnson, Myers, Walken, Alexander
Sponsor:Notzi Zombees
Nickname(s):Flying Dutchmen
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:2nd Erste Liga
Team InfoA move down to the second division quickly followed by a return to the premier league, a test of the times, there is a lot of talented teams and only the top 24 can be in the top division, usually the teams right below them have a chance to come back, and the Dutchmen showed perseverance to get back, and they might very well have a good stretch back in the league like they did their first time up in it.

Sparta F.C.

Ground:Spartan Stadium 24,000

ReservesAutumn, June, Marsh, Frack, Forest
Sponsor: Giroux Caisses Populaires
Nickname(s):The Red Sea
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:20th
Team InfoTheir first season back topside saw them finish one spot above a playoff. And now going into a second season back they will have to fight to stay afloat, it really seems like they need to fight to stay around.

Tintown Terrapins

Ground:Tintown Stadium 23,000
Manager:Josiah Grant
Colors:White and Jade
Fan Support:Low
Expectations:Compete for Globe Cup
Starters:Harding, Steinmetz, Gorzon, Marx, Denver, Foster, Icicle, Axel, Conors, Constantinescu*,**, Ortiz
ReservesPatrick, Heimbach, Tisdale, Quiroz, Hewitt
Sponsor:Tintown Ironworks
Nickname(s):Terrapins
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:10th
Team InfoA top ten for the Terrapins and they continue to have solid play, but nothing like the magical season they won the cup. The team has recently shifted funds to a more offensive nature and with more offensive play comes a hit or burn mentality, hopefully they continue to hit.

Wiechester FC

Ground:Fadron Pizza Field at Wonder Park 250,000
Manager:Muazong Kuha
Colors:Red and Black
Fan Support:Very High
Expectations:Avoid Relegation
Starters:Hornet, Cline, Lantern, O’Leavy, Aimes, Goings, Walken, Ogilvy, Werner, Handy, Carswell
ReservesHorton, Parneau, Afleck, Benson, Anwar
Sponsor:Tae-Mart
Nickname(s):Ballers
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:17th
Team InfoIt’s a sad day in Wiechester when it seems all but likely that once again the Ballers are headed down below once again. All signs point towards a pathetic season to come, and a return to the second division. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

X Island Marauders

Ground:X Island Metropark 200,000
Manager:Jace Olverez
Colors:Black and White
Fan Support:High
Expectations:Compete for Globe Cup Spot
Starters:Dumitrescu**, Torterra, Styer, Corner*, Goober, Micheals, Bassini, Jacobs, Lewis, Perans, Olback
ReservesWatson, Jermichel, Tyrell, Lampeter, Fly
Sponsor:Winehold Crematorium
Nickname(s):Marauders
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:13th
Team InfoX Island got an interesting backing of cash during the offseason, and rather than help the team with new players they built a new practice arena behind the Metropark. Considering there is a great practice facility in the Metropark one wonders how crazy the owners of the Marauders are…

Yaton FC

Ground:Yaton Insurance Park 88,000
Manager:Peter Masque
Colors:Blue and Yellow
Fan Support:Medium
Expectations:Avoid Relegation
Starters: Lewison, Bourdon, Hogweiler, Gass, Gartner, Fjord*, Smock, Harriet, Dyatross, Aines, Montenegro
ReservesFoxx, Iacoco, Toulanlan, Von Bois, Wyte
Sponsor:Yaton Insurance
Nickname(s):SeaMonsters
Offseason Moves:None
Last Season Finish:19th
Team InfoWith a late decision from captain Jimmy Harriet to return to captain the team for at least another season the team was late in deciding not to continue on with attempts to bring in an international midfielder, and now the team looks to have a great chance to return to the high side of the TSL.

Kalta has been all but liquidated. They've lost an astonishing five players, almost half of their prime-age players taking their surprise third-place finish last season to springboard into the international market. With the loss of half their midfield, both their strikers and their goalkeeper, they've been left high and dry. A small saving grace is that Broderick Holbrook decided to take his talents to the newly-succussful team, but Kalta will still be fielding four fresh rookies out of the farm system. They've been incredibly inconsistent over the years, and I don't see them retaining their competitiveness for a Globe Cup spot. A full four of their players will be taking their talents west to Saugeais, the Francophones pouncing on the abrupt bundle of contracts finishing; meanwhile Kenneth Dutton, their secondary striker, will be taking a trip just across the bay to play for the Taeshani club Moresville FC. However, the Saugeains were not done after gutting Kalta; Svidga Svendersson managed to jump off the sinking ship of Falcus FC and land on one of their premier clubs, Pays de Croix.

But the Falconian system isn't being unfairly drained; plenty of foreign talent entered the system during the offseason. Arron Dunn's retirement left a gaping hole in Nestingham's formation, and they filled it with a young Euran on loan from Directus. Playing between Edison Barr and Stacey Anders may not be the most glorious position, but even two merely above-average Falconian midfielders are world-class midfielders. It is surely going to be a great learning experience for Glenn Anderson, as there's no better place for a young midfielder than the fridgid climes Falconwhereveryouare. More young talent came in from the dissolved Yesopalithan league; Jared Mullin will be filling the gap in Umber FC caused by Holbrook's desertion, while Helving FC are trying to stay out of the relegation spots and are hoping Vance Briollet will be the key to 10th place.

The Wingers seem poised to become the first repeat title holder in recent memory, as their young forwards continue to blossom into a line of all-stars. Their defenders are getting older, especially with lynchpin Harriet Stowe progressing to 38 years, but the high-octane offense should be able to relieve some of the pressure. Sometimes the best defence is a strong offense. Meanwhile, an actual defensive team is on their heels, Umber Lumber trying to beat their way back to the top with their congested midfield and talisman striker--Kronig Icevelh has quietly been one of the best strikers in the league the past few years, not scoring very many goals but scoring them when they really count. The two bottom Globe Cup spots are a toss up between four teams; Nestingham is hoping to right the wrong of their horrendous start in Season 29, Reedring is hoping that the Falconians haven't gotten too used to the 'Slav counter-attacking style, Lywik is still trying to escape their mid-table blues, and Umber FC is trying to figure out just what made them tick a few seasons past. One relegation spot is almost surely going to be occupied by Wingipeg FC; with their main striker at 36 and their keeper at 37, and their incredibly unbalanced style of play, it's a recipe for distaster. The other spot could be the Seamen (who always miraculously avoid relegation despite sub-par play), Winterfell (who haven't really found their footing in the Primary League), and Helving (who will be taking their first trip at the top flight). Oh, and we've got a few big, new stadiums thanks to our failed bid for the Copa Rushmori. Wooh!

The seventh season of the Ko-orenite National League saw the return of Maethoru to the championship, a title they haven't had for two seasons before. It was their fifth title overall, and this meant that they would be back at Champions' Cup football. Branvun had attempted CC twice after their championships, but with little success. They were eliminated well before the group stage. Maethoru has had four attempts before this one, and they made it to group stage once. This time, everything would be different...

(KOR) Maethorü 3–1 Laurentia FC (LYM) 3–1 0–0

First match, third preliminary round. Maethoru beat Laurentia, the Lymantatian champion, 3-1 in the home match, but could not win against the tough opponent at their home: 0-0. One good win and a clean sheet are all the positives from this head-to-head battle.

(MIU) Old Tamarindians 3–4 Maethorü (KOR) 2–2 1–2

Miskatonic University's Old Tamarindians were the next opponent, in a direct confrontation for group stage. Maethoru had only once before played in that stage, so there was everything to fight for. The away match was the first match, which is always how you should like it: any damage can be fixed in your own home. This time, there was hardly any damage as Maethoru kept Old Tamarindians to 2-2, a 0-0 or 1-1 would suffice at home. It turned out as a victory for the team: 2-1!

Maethoru was then drawn into Group H along with Carter FC, Navel FC and CA Conquistadores, from Jasîyun, Whirl Islands and Ossidiacqua respectively.
Group H Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts Crt Mae Nav Cnq
1 Carter FC JSY 6 3 2 1 11 5 +6 11* — 0–0 1–2 4–0
2 Maethorü KOR 6 3 2 1 8 5 +3 11* 2–4 — 0–0 2–0
3 Navel FC WRL 6 2 3 1 5 4 +1 9 0–0 1–2 — 1–1
4 CA Conquistadores OSD 6 0 1 5 2 12 -10 1 1–2 0–2 0–1 —

The home matches went not too good for the team, 1-1-1: one win, one tie, one loss. The loss was against the team that would later on just beat out Maethoru for first place (both Carter FC and Maethoru came to 11 points). The draw was against Navel FC, the team that would then end up just two points short of advancing, and the win was against the CA Conquistadores, the team that ended the group stage with only one point. The away matches were much better even, with wins at Navel and Conquistadores and a goalless draw against Carter FC.

(KOR) Maethorü 3–2 East Franz Athletic (PIS) 1–2 2–0

In the first knockout round, the opponent was one that played Ko-orenite teams earlier, to their success, yet this time it was different. While East Franz Athletic from the Polar Islandstates won the first one in Cold Ground, Mayara (Maethoru State), the team responded fantastically with beating EFA 0-2 at their stadium!

(KOR) Maethorü 3–2 Yuba United (COM) 1–1 2–1

Another tough draw, but there are no easy teams anymore at this stage. Quarter finals were against Yuba United, from Capitalizt SLANI. The fact that Yuba United are the team with the most prizes did not make it any easier for the Ko-orenite team. First leg was at the Cold Ground again, where Yuba kept Maethoru to 1-1. The away match was again the more successful of the two games: 1-2!

(KOR) Maethorü 2–4 Turoki Tide (VIL) 2–3 0–1

All good stories end at some point. Turoki Tide, from Vilita, beat Maethoru twice, both home and away. Still, Maethoru can look back at the most successful run ever, and even making it out of the group stage is an unprecedented feat for any Ko-orenite team. History was written, heroes everywhere and at least Turoki Tide won the tournament in the end.

Ko-oren now has the 24th best league in the world, allowing them an extra CC spot from now on. Instead of the fight for fourth place in the league, there should now be a fight for fifth place! Hopefully all teams will keep up the spirit and give Ko-oren an even higher spot next season.

For this season:

Ko-oren (KOR) qualifiers
Champions Cup: Maethoru, Branvun
Globe Cup: Jeknolr, Kthosl, Tangku
Series B Champions Cup: Ko-oren Capitals, Engbrothun, Katrun, Hurricane
