THE DOCTOR WHO DISCUSSION THREAD

As the superb David Tennant leaves the series, Matt Smith takes the helm of the TARDIS. Will he be as great as the others? Or will he be a horrible blunder? This thread has been created for all Doctor Who fans to discuss their taughts on the wonderful Doctor, and his companions. From the original played by William Hartnell, to the current Matt Smith. From Ian Chesterton, Barbara Wright and Susan Foreman, to Rose Tyler, Martha Jones, Donna Noble, and Amy Pond. Even if you have no idea WHO this DOCTOR is, feel free to post your criticisms so we can hit back!

I really enjoyed the majority of the Eccleston series, similarly a lot of the 10th doctor (bar his Serious Face and all).

Russell T. Davis I cannot stand, and the episodes that he had little involvement in were brilliant.

Hell, I remember mouthing off about the Midnight episode based on the premise, but actually being blown away by it when it played - especially the reaction of the Doctor at the end, when the Catherine Tate-character (who I could not stand, and I think that ruined that series for me) mimicked him, which was abosutely stunning, compared to the virtual invulnerability of the 10th Doctor.

The Family of Blood episodes also call this to mind, even if they were doing the whole WWI thing so heavy-handidly.
The above post may or may not be serious.

I too cannot stand Russell T. Davis. He has a lack of creativity, at least to me.

I have to say, I don't like Matt Smith. And what the hell is the catchphrase, "Geronimo!" He's supposed to be British god damn it! Well, he's a Time Lord, but, he's something like a British Time Lord.
