Fledgling Space Empire(FT)(Reboot)

Postby The Great Human Empire » Thu Jan 24, 2013 12:07 am

At 0900 hours Novum Solaris time, a successful colony was established in the planet if Affoeport. It's administrator, Walldecker, is ultimately in charge of diplomacy for The Great Human Empire. This group d humans does not know sentient life exists outside of its own group.

http://imageshack.us/mobile/gallery.php
Affoeport. Population, 10.000 humans

Minerals
10% Gold
12% Aluminum
4% Uranium
20% Iron
18% Platinum
26% Titanium
12% Lead
8% Unidentified

Defenses: Two 500m long and 100m high Destroyers Armes with Rail guns and a MAC gun
One 1km long 200m high Battleship Armes with point defense, rail guns, and two MAC guns on Port and Starboard sides

Note: Godmodding equals ignore. Incidents that affect my colony directly (like
Moving it and setting off a black hole) without my permission is unallowed. For te love of god keep fighting to a minimum.

The Oogish destroyer Imperial Will was on a survey cruise for COLMIN. She came smoothly out of slipspace, gravity engines humming. A crew Oog on the bridge looked up from her console. "Shipmaster. Small human colony appears to be present planetside as well as large hardtogetium deposits."
Shipmaster Rck'lrz threw up his hands. "In every place and capacity we find these humans! It is infuriating! Inform the Ministry of Colonization immediately." He turned to his personal monitor and quickly established a videolink with the humans. "Greetings, humans. Based on your ships I presume you have not met any of your brethren in the stars or any other species. I am Shipmaster Rck'lrz of the Imperial Oogish Navy."

The Leonidas was a fine ship, accompanied by Super Crusiers Claymore and and Saber. The three exited slip space, dropping into yet another system in their search for habitable planets.

Captain Sean Lee highly doubted that would happen. This was the last system he had to check, and quite frankly he wanted to go home. See his friends and family, just sit back relax and drink some booze on the porch.

The crew began to scan the planet below, checking their computers for atmospheric conditions and what not. The Captain let the scientists do that, he was simply here to lead them in case things turned sour. There were a lot of space faring nations out there, more than they had ever imagined.

The Captain sat there bored until one of the crew spoke up. "Sir?"

Lee turned to face Commander Turner, his second in command. "Yes?"

"We've found a habitable planet..." Shit. That meant Lee would be here for a while, setting up a colony and what not. If this had happened any time before the last stop of his tour, he wouldn't have minded:

"Start colonization protocols then," the Capatin ordered.

"Sir... It's already colonized." Somewhat good news.

"Human or alien?"

"Human, sir."

"Start first contact protocols then. Let's send them a greeting..."

This is Captain Sean Lee of the Legion of War's Navy. We come in peace fellow humans. It delights us to find our brethern in the stars and we do hope to establish diplomatic relations between our nation and yours.

The message was broadcasted in every possible human language known to the Legion, hoping that they would speak at least one of them.

Uncharted System, 650 light years away from Hiberia
U.E.R.S. Tyre, Levant-class heavy frigate

Sliding out of a wide Slipspace portal, the U.E.R.S. Tyre came into the view of the yet uncharted star system known as Boreus Tractus. Sliding out beside her came the River-class heavy corvette, Indus, both making up a standard exploration squadron. Captain Wilhelm Newcastle, standing on the bridge, got a panoramic view of the green planet and her moon, which also now included 3 or 4 other vessels. After having his officers unable to identify any of the vessels among the starship log, and seeing that one of the ships weapon system's was charging, positioned his vessels in between the moon and the planet.

Newcastle, now following with accordance of Republic First Contact Protocol, he had a message sent out toward the surrounding vessels.

To the vessels in orbit, my name is Captain Wilhelm Newcastle of the Union of Earth Republics and commander of the vessel Tyre, and on behalf of my superiors and that of my crew, we give a greeting. We mean no harm, and were unaware of another peoples claim upon this system.

...Daily Routine...

"An effective way to defeat your opponent is to shut off its power source. How can you fight if the light was taken away from your eyes?"
- Jagger

A sector within' Hedron Space, just filling the view of the void, nothing more nothing less. Dense asteroids forming clumps known as Planetoids of which could house a very important and scarce resource for Hedron known as, Water. Cautious as well since these planetoids are also known to be occupied by some Ork's having some "Funny Biznez." The 23rd Fleet conducts their operations on a small portion of Hedron Space - with the support of the 89th and 220th battle fleets nearby. Just a daily routine...

Without warning nor a headsup - numerous portals emerged with intense light and already ejecting out its hitchhikers as it closed itself behind them. The emblem of the Silver Skulls shined in polished silver as to the side indicates the warships name, "Imperatrix" The portal swarm didn't stop until a couple minutes later as the entire 23rd Fleet just literally warped in, accounted and totaled of 73 mighty warships.

The Admiral on board the Flagship, "Imperatrix" also known as the Empress picks up the VOX mic and spoke, "Attention," in a smooth calm stern female voice, "This your Admiral speaking to 23rd Fleet. We are in Sector 35 Dash 29 - I want a full scan of current warps. Captains - I want a debrief onboard my warship in 10. That will be all."

Placing the VOX mic back onto her personal seat she then orders a status report.

"Admiral - engines are running cold. We are drifting."

The other after 7 -

"Admiral - Weapons are armed and awaiting for targets."

Then lastly -

"Admiral - Scans indicate no suspicious objects. Sector is green."

A lieutenant spoke to authenticate, "Admiral all operators are green and systems are reported clean."

She glances her eyes slightly then placed her hands behind her and clears her throat, "That'll be all - return to your duties," approaches her seat and sits down, "Ping nearby Hedron Fleets. Notify me about the Pong after."

"As you command Admiral."

The operator issued the "Ping" as it literally sends out an encrypted simple message as it taps into Hedron Imperial Channels where the "Pong" will be sent back of their current positions. It's a rather long and old technique to remain low rather than sending a message where anyone and anything can hear.

Meanwhile the 23rd Fleet will be drifting in space until notified....

The FNS King's Light, a Ulysses class prowler, skulked in the large shadow of Affoeport, silently keeping tabs on all communications. Captain Lantrus stood on the bridge, watching the spectacle displayed on the large front monitor of the large bridge. On that screen a plethora of warships and other space faring vessels parled, and it was rather amazing that no one had started shooting. Still, Lantrus preferred to keep the King's Light hidden.
"Helm, set course to 009-29 by 08, keep us dark."
"Aye sir, 009-29 by 08" came a hushed reply from the most forward of the chairs lining the rim of the bridge.
The Captain sits down and leans back, then turns to a tall slender man standing just behind his command chiar, "Trunston, just what do you think is going one here."
The first mate thought for a second before answering, "Sir, I think that this is a mass first contact, this new colony we have been monitoring is completely ignorant to other space faring peoples."
The Captain scratched his large beard in contemplation, "Yes, yes, that would explain the large amount of comm traffic, and no one has blown each other up, so this appears to be a peaceful event. Still, there is no harm in staying quite and listening until those large ships are gone. We don't have the armament to fight any of them. Alright," continuing in a louder voice, "We are staying dark, no need to play first contact here, the Oog alone could overpower us."
The bridge then settled into the erie silence that is typical of most prowler type ships.

For your information
The FNS King's Light has a crew compliment of 50 men and women, and carries an armament of 5 Menton nuclear mines with a blast yield of 50 megatons each, 4 50mm point defense cannons, and 1 ion pulse cannon.
The ship is small and built from a material that absorbs most, if not all, forms of radar scanning.

Sub Sector Protractis Deep Space Exploration group.

" Sir we have received a signal from the Legion of War and the forces of Hedron. They each have fleets stationed in a new star system, reports indicate a unfound human colony. Shall we make way?" Spoke a chapter serf.

Legate Augustus smiled and said, "Another leaf of humanity yet to be brought into the fold, make way with all due speed. See if we can exit from the side opposite the Legion and Hedron. It never hurts to have a tactical edge, also prepare a delegation and a shock force. We don't know anything about these humans so we best put a strong foot forward."

"Aye Lord I'm transmitting the Coordinates now." replied the serf before opening up the fleet wide Vox

In orbit of new colony

A hole tore open in the real of humanity and the Imperial fleet arrived in a standard battle formation. With the colony being surrounded by the forces of Hedron, the Legion of War and Sub Sector Protractis.

"My Lord there is a xenos fleet in orbit as well." said the serf

" Very well all shields full and power to all long range weapon systems. We do not know their intention but the Xenos is not to be trusted, we will preserve this slice of humanity at all costs. Now prepare to send vox messages to our allies, the colonists, and the Xenos" said the Legate with a Solemn face.

The Legate is a large and imposing figure even among the warriors of the Adeptus Astartes he close to nine feet tall and his black and blue armor is punctuated with silvers and golds, all honors to his 550 years of service. His hair was beginning to grey and his face is scarred. He is also allowed a purple sash to mark him as a Legate and a potential Praetor. On his shoulder pad the black helped to point out the image of a silver lighthouse that housed an eye with light spreading out from it. It represents the blessing of the Emperor through the Astronomicon that guides all Imperials through the warp.

I respectfully request that you alter course and allow My fleet to set up a protective Cordon around the colony below. These humans possess a very small and inadequately defended colony, it is in their best interests that I declare that any acts of aggression against them will be considered acts of aggression against my allies and myself. We seek to conduct a diplomatic mission and will respect the forces you have brought to bear if you will respect our own.++

"Filthy Aliens, most likely already seeking to manipulate those colonists. I want the troops ready, defensive formation, long range guns to the rear. Short rage broadsides in a crescent Frigates upfront destroyers in the rear to screen the heavy lances and the Nova Cannons. We cannot be to careful." The Legate said as he looked at the Holo screen from his command throne.

The Imperial fleet began to rearrange into their defensive formation, and 4 full companies prepared to drop onto the colony. 2nd and 3rd centurias in the first wave manning drop pods, 4th on Thunderhawks with the Chapters Armor to be a mobile strike force and 5th standing by as reserves if necessary.

The Imperial Guard put its troops on notice and had them begin drawing weapons on ammo and told to stand by. A battle was not expected but the Imperium would not be caught unprepared.

The largest ship, the Battleship, made a few course adjustments to stay in orbit around the planet. A stray meteor was heading towards the colony and it aimed its railguns. It sent out a mass message stating it was shooting down a meteor, as it was the original purpose of all my ships in the system. It fires its Railguns, some shots going wide but most hit and fragment it into alot of small pieces.

We invite you to be a part of an Empire of a million worlds each striving for one goal, the supremacy of humanity. We have noticed an Alien fleet orbiting your humble colony, we offer to place a protective blockade around your planet and send a delegation of diplomats to your colony to discuss pressing matters now that you are part of the galactic community.I hope to hear from your ambassadorial staff soon.
Ever in his service,
Legate Augustus Watchers of void chapter

"We thank you for the offer of protection. We have nothing against aliens. Or other people. We barely even know of other life forms as it is. The OOG simply want to obtain a mineral we do not use in anything on the planet. You may send your peace delegation. In fact..."

TO ALL FLEETS
"We invite you, if you wish, to send in diplomatic teams for peaceful purposes. If you wish please send when ready."

OoC: Sub Sector, I only have one destroyer....and I'm going to bed.

The Shipmaster bowed. "Lovely. It is agreed then. I know both we and all other humans we've encountered value gold...perhaps we could pay in that? I must talk more later, other ships are hailing us."

He turned to the Protractian communication and bristled with anger, then responded. "The only fleets in this sector are human, you fools," he snarled. "We are trying to defend the colonists from another fleet that is moving aggressively. I fail to understand why you saw it neccesary to assume battle formations and charge your weapons, but in case your tiny human brains and pathetic scanners have failed to comprehend this, our single 'xeno' ship is NOT intent on harming this colony. Now, power down your weapons act like the civilized race that humans, at least in my experience, are." He snorted angrily, and turned to his weapons officer. "Charge all weapons and bring the shield to combat strength."
Then he turned back to Captain Walldecker. "In case you are not aware, a large fleet has just entered the system and assumed battle formation with weapons charged. I am already receiving a bid from the Imperial Shipyards, they will give you 30 tons of 24k gold in return for mining rights....here." He brought up a holomap and gestured to a large area near the planet's Arctic Circle in the eastern hemisphere. "I will join the diplomatic meeting by videolink, if that's alright."

...Daily Routine Part 2...

Commissars are quite quiet on board my ship and I remember seeing one smirking. Could be the report of someone who was shot out the airlock.

As the Female Admiral walks around the bridge inspecting each console as every operator was too busy to notice, she hears a distinct alarm. Vigilant as she always was, "Lieutenant!" she calls out loud, "Report!"

Before answering her he had to make sure, "Admiral - Incoming message."

This is Admiral Leyana of the 23rd Battle Fleet of Hedron to all nearby Hedron fleets. There is no attack. I have received no scans on nearby sub sectors or even sectors. I'll be awaiting a message from the Navy Hierarchy - I will anticipate their "Under attack" message."

Then says under her breath, "Space Marines and their Xeno fetish...." then faces the LT, "Prepare to send a message back to them."

This is Hedron 23rd Border Warfleet, Under the command of Admiral Leyana. My superiors and I request a priority one on the situation. Your message has stirred rumorss of breach within' Hedron Space. All fleets are startled and already rampant on battle stations throughout Hedron Space.

On a note - Never do that again. I do respect your current standings Space Marine, but my life is on the line and I would like it if such incursion never occurs again. *sigh* Under the current Pact of given name, "Guardian Pact," by the High Imperial Court. Any such request of Hedron Support entitled to the agreement of so and so. I am required to respond with immediate force and harsh brutality to the enemies of the Emperor and mankind.

++ It is standard Imperial policy to assume battle formation when encountering any unknown fleets, as to your request to power down I must decline. As you can tell this colony is at risk of orbital debris causing damage. As such I am moving my fleet over the populated parts of the colony to better secure them from the various threats of space.++

"Prep my Thunderhawk Ill be going there personally." said the Legate. He though to himself ' All of these other fleets are human, well the power sources they use are certainly alien enough. Well then It looks as if the Aliens are at a disadvantage, maybe thats why they are being so polite.'

The Legate, his Master of Sanctity, Chief Apothecary, and Master of the Forge would accompany him down to the planet along with his honor guards.

The Legate looked at the viewing screen as his Thunderhawk flew down accompanied by 2 more full of Marines from the 6th Centuria. As they landed the Legate stood and walked out of the dropship as his honor guard preceded him flanked by 60 Marines, 30 on each side. There was present a total of 90 Space Marines. A plenty strong force to combat any threat they would face and large enough to inspire awe onto any who would see such a collection of warriors.

The Legate observed the simple colony and searched for an ambassador, there was a reason that he hurried to land first. He was hoping to talk to the Colonials in privet before any of the "other" guests arrived.

Captain Lee turned to Commander Turner, "Turner I want you on the planet to set up diplomatic relations with our fellow humans. Take some guards with you, Spartans would be wise. We don't know what's down there"

"Yes sir!" Turner said before leaving to request a Spartan fire team. Captain Lee saw him walk away, confident the young man would do a fine job down there.

However, there were other matters to be attended to.

"Hmmm... Send them this voice message, and make sure it's encrypted!" the Captain replied.

Legate Augustus, this is Captain Lee of the Legion of War. These Xenos have shown no agression towards the Human colony, but we are keeping an eye on them. While we would rather no human nation maintains relations with Xenos, it is our understanding that Humanity is quite diverse and out of respect of our fellow human nation we have not interfered on our part.

The Legion is here merely to establish diplomatic ties with our brethern, and to protect the colony should things go sour. They have demonstrated the ability to defend themselves from meteors, and are handling the Xenos quite well. Until we are given reason to defend to colony we will not fire a shot.

This is our position out of respect for our fellow humans. As we both know, only AFTER the damage is done do Humans learn not to trust the Xeno races. It is a curse our kind has, but it is the only way to truly see what they are like. Until then, we are simply here to aid them should the Oogium fleet make the first move.

++ 23rd Fleet this is Legate Augustus, I apologize for any unseen consequences of our open transmission. We broad cast on an open Imperial net so that any forces in range will be able to have an accurate picture of events around them so that Naval High Command may act without a formal request for support should it prove necessary. If there are any issues with Imperial High Command and the continuance of your life please direct your fleet commissar to me. I'm sure that they would find my explanation valid. I will grant priority one authority over my Naval attachment. My Chapters fleet however and the troop transports will remain under my command. This is more your area of the void then mine, do you know anything of the other fleets in orbit. The Xenos said that they are the lone Alien ship while the power sources we are receiving from other ships are unknown to us. If you plan and sending people planetside I have a secure landing zone that is available to you provided you inform the craft I have patrolling the area ++

'Well she's bold whoever she is, she had the courage to tell me what to do. Well she'll either be a ruthlessly efficient commander or an incompetent blowhard. For her sake she better have the tactical acumen to justify such a tone of voice.' The Legate thought to himself.

Code: Select all
++ Captain Lee, this is Augustus. Understood, if you need a secure place to land please inform my crafts securing the skies above my position. I have a sizeable detachment of troops on the ground that can ensure you remain safe. Augustus Out.
