WorldVision Song Contest 25 Discussion

Postby WorldVision Committee » Mon Jan 21, 2013 10:13 am

IC THREAD

Sign ups are closed

Since WorldVision 24 is over, here's the signups for the 25th WorldVision Song Contest! Signups will be the same as last time, just post your national final here. Or, if you don't want to actually post a national final, you can just tell us the title of the song, and the name of the artist performing it.

The contest itself is basically the same as Eurovision Song Contest. First, all the participating countries post the performance (with lyrics) of their entry, and then, once all the entries have been performed, every nation decides their votes, with the same 1 to 12 points format as used in Eurovision. Everything's the same except that we don't have those silly rules about how many of them can be on the stage, etc.

All songs in the contest must be original. No real-life songs or artists may be entered into the contest, but parodies of RL song are of course allowed. Parody doesn't mean "real life song with some other words" but a song with TOTALLY different lyrics on the melody of a RL song. Also translations of original lyrics are NOT allowed.

A puppet holder can participate with 3 nations max.: his main nation, and possibly his two puppets. You have to confirm your puppet.

Due to unforseen circumstances (lack of inspiration), TOPtv and BGBC have agreed to change the Bloodbathian entry to Worldvision 25. The new entry, by the group "Dziyesti" (Dynasty) is "Bombochuta" (Dumb B*tch). A driving beat just asking for a strut down the runway and jamming out in the car, can it win voter over like our lasst entry?

Here's Dziyesti with Bombochuta

Motsuki

As previously reported, Hagasvyo will not be represented by the thrid-place finisher in the Bloodbathian NF. Instead, HagaTV has internally selected the trio "Motsuki". Entering their single "Sugar Candy Love", the group parodies the trends of Korean and Japanese pop with overly "kawaii" sounds and actions. The song has already charted in their native Bloodbath Generation at #2, and has potential for international success.

Larissa Pipe

Finishing a close second in "Syngio Fyir Verold", the Bloodbathian NF, Larissa Pipe is entering for VIXX with her song "Daca Bulbul". An ethnic song about the journey of a frog down a raging river, it evokes clear imagery, and the tribal sounds could make it hop to the top!

Mediterra enters the contest for the first time as Kalosia, with the broadcaster RTVK.

The selection format for this edition will be slightly different than before. We'll internally pick an artist and have a national final with their songs.

EDIT: Thanks for the votes, you've put me on the top of the second half of the scoreboard :D

Euskirribakondara will comeback to the WorldVision Song Contest after a two-editions break, after several dialogues with the WorldVision Committee based on the complaints of EUSK1.

Now, Euskal-Musika will NOT select the Euskal entry for WorldVision, but a different format called <<Progudua>>. More details on this selection process will be available soon, as it requires the participation of other nations.

Muchas gracias por sus votos!
(Thanks a lot for your votes!)

(Puerto Candelaria rejoices with the victory attained in the WorldVision Song Contest, on its 24th edition. We thank Mebarak enormously for having represented our country in such a professional way as she did. In commemoration of her, we've decided to launch a host bid to organize the next contest, showcasing our customs, our culture... That same latin flavor that captivated the international audience with "El Secreto" (The Secret). Internally, we've selected our next representatives, hoping to achieve another successful result in the prestigious competition)

Host bid
To come in another post. The city to be included in the bid is Barrancabermeja, the hometown of Isabel Mebarak, winner of the 24th WorldVision Song Contest.

Entry
Artists: Maia & Andrés Aristizábal
