In the CSC, every able-bodied man and woman must maintain an M1 Garand semi-automatic rifle with at least 20 en-bloc clips and at least 700 Rounds of 30-06 Caliber ammunition; and must qualify with it each year against multiple man-sized steel targets at 100-300 meters. They also must maintain an M1911A1 Semi-automatic pistol, at least 5 magazines, and at least 300 rounds of .45 ACP ammunition. All able bodied men (Except for those who object due to religious/moral reasons, etc.) are part of their local militia from age 16-48. Women may voulenteer for the militia as well. Men and women may serve past age 48 if they prove to be in good physical condition.

If you look at our Factbook, you'll notice the mention of militia men, they are equipped with their own weapons plus some ammo given by the government. They're only used for defense, but they're some of the best shots in our army

I would imagine that in the event of mobilization preparatory to war, a good part of the process would include issuance of spare parts, extra ammunition, and even whole new rifles by the state using military stocks to Militia forces. There would also be competency tests to see which personnel had undertaken the legally mandatory process of marksmanship and routine test firing, and a major program of assigning extra training to those Militia personnel and units found to be delinquent in these responsibilities.

Remember, boys and girls, if the Militia is mandatory for the people, so too is the process of maintaining the Militia for the state. Better to let those willing to do so, do it voluntarily.

Militia service is technically voluntary in the Republic of Massena, and culturally and legally all Citizens of the Republic are encouraged, though not required, to keep and maintain basic firearms, kit, and training. Rifles and pistols chambered in 7.62x51mm and 9x19mm Parabellum are especially popular, as these ammunition types are often used by police and law enforcement elements.

Legally, if officers of the state were to "call up the Militia," they would be calling every man of able mind and body between the ages of sixteen and sixty, though a narrower age bracket may be requested at their discretion. Others may volunteer, and be assigned to serve in combat, or in support elements.

Needless to say, a fully mobilized Militia is not likely to be trained to the same extent as the Armed Forces, though anything is possible, and the average Militia force is not doing much in the way of offensive action. They are a defensive measure, a tool of national security and protection.

Local militias are very common throughout Tovarishchestvo. Due to a fear of right-wing insurrectionists and a very militant culture, people, particularly in rural regions outside of Khabarovsk, take pride in owning weaponry of all kinds ( most often government-issued AK-47 and SKS rifles).

If you are talking about real Militias, like citizens taking up arms, well, the last time we have seen this kind of thing in our country was on the Electrician Civil war, and they were used as Einsatzgruppen, death squads. lots of our older family members remember this, and we all want to stay away from this kind of stuff, forever.

In theory, all able-bodied men and women of Hippostania are part of a militia, as the Constitution requires them to take up arms to defend Hippostania when the country's sovereignty is in danger. In addition, Home Guard, paramilitary wing of the ruling National Party can be seen as a some kind militia/gendarmerie.

In White Sun there are a variation of Militia; yes, though a bit different from the West's perception. Comprised mostly of women who are defending their children rather than some unified force of citizen-soldiers is the closest thing to "Militia" White Sun gets to.
