"I guess today could have gone worse."
Carl sat on the hotel bed, glass of water in hand, not taking his eyes off the movie on the screen, even though the dub was bad enough that he felt he would have an easier time with the Dutch dialog. Chris, wearing a towel, crossed in front to get to his own bed and sat down before answering.
"We've definitely played worse matches. Hell, you've played worse matches. "
"I've only played two matches for this team."
"Exactly."
"I guess we just needed to get up to speed."
"Whatever."
Chris settled under the covers and dropped his towel next to the bed. He'd been sleeping naked as long as they'd been in the hotel; Carl had assumed it was normal until Cormac Danielson had told him otherwise, but by then it was too late.
"Still," said Carlton, "A goal each. We definitely did pretty well."
"I'm used to scoring a lot more than that against amateurs." Chris turned grumpily away.
"And Cory getting his first international goal."
"Should have happened a long time ago."
"You're just determined to be unhappy, aren't you?"
There was a grunt, and the television turned off.

Lions' Campaign in Cyborg Holland Ends Poorly
The final game of the Esportivan Sun Beach Soccer Cup for the Lion of Judah beach soccer team ended regulation time at a nailbiting 3-3, after which the Lions seemed to give up in an uninspired overtime period that called into question the decision to send the Lions BSC to the tournament at all, rather than the national side or one of the other clubs clamoring for the opportunity.
"They've played their best the entire competition," said manager Oscar Herrera, "But I'm not even remotely satisfied with how this last game has gone. Beach soccer is our national sport, but it has turned into a national embarrassment."
Herrera went on to say that while he was disappointed with the team's effort as a whole, he was satisfied with the showings given by Carlton Cho and Cormac Danielson, two Lions players who will be representing Taijan in three upcoming international soccer competitions; the International Friendly Games in Cosgravia, the Swamp Soccer World Cup in the Icemark, and finally the Esportivan Regional Games. Cho in particular gave his best performance of the tournament, sinking four of the team's total eight goals, outscoring highly-touted defender Christopher Nguyen for the distinction of Man of the match. Danielson also played well, despite an underachieving performance by Nguyen, who was taken off the field in the third period in favor of substitute Takashi Morimoto, who also sank two goals, one each in that period and in overtime.
Nevertheless, spirits remain high as Nguyen, Cho, and Danielson gear up for the International Friendly Games, the next stop in a whirlwind tour of international competitions this summer. Taking the field for the first time, the Taijani U-23 soccer team will hope to make a name for itself just as Cho's brother's handball team already has in its own world cup.

Welcome to the first ever edition of the Campionato Esportivano di Campeones! The intraregional tournament for the biggest teams of Esportiva's soccer, this season will have representants of ten different leagues, hoping to increase said number in the next season.

Before starting with the tournament let's talk about what place will have the rights to host the very first final of the CEdC! A total of four bids were sent to the office of ITV at Mardi, Northern Sunrise Islands, thus eliminating the possiblity of any match related to the finals being hosted at Northern Sunrise due to obvious reasons. After a large bid process, the stadium chosen to host the final match was, due to its great appearence and history, was the Avenhelm Castle at Avenhelm, Swyftlandre with the other three bids actually being very good fighters for the runner-up spot. However, in the end, the juggernaut-esque Royal Slembanan Stadium at, Bafilo, Slembana was chosen as the runner-up, thus earning the right to host the 3rd Place Decision Match. Thanks for bidding, New Amzterdam Arena and Gardiner-Stewart Park.

After all of the ten leagues involved in this season post their representants, who should be 1st to 4th teams respectively, we'll have a full look at the participating teams of this historical event to NS Sports and Esportiva itself.

Campionato Esportiva Rankings

After the conclusion of the 3rd edition of the Campionato Esportiva, rankings have been drawn up to separate teams from each other, and show where the pecking order is. It is primarily based on the most recent Campionato, with the previous one's being taken into account as well.

The rankings are worked as such:

Campionato Esportiva III: Points Scored+Bonus Points*/Games Played x4
Campionato Esportiva II: Points Scored+Bonus Points*/Games Played x2
Campionato Esportiva I: Points Scored+Bonus Points*/Games Played x1

Bonus Points are an extra point adding for proceeding a round in the competition, so that, for example nations who had tougher groups, and so scored more highly are not gaining more points than those nations who gained less points in the group stage, and then lost in the Round of 16 say, as so their points re lower because they have played more games. It's added for the benefit of the losers in the knock-outs, although it applies universally to all who make it each round. Those nations who progress from the Semi-Finals to the 3rd Placed Play-Off do not gain a bonus point, as it is not really a step up.

Stadium Bid

The Road to Success

The Road to Success is the most famous Lakean Stadium, with the capacity to hold 70,000 fans. The Road to Success is famous for how the most dramatic matches take place there. Like the Lakean final last year, which finished 5-5 (7-7 AET) (49-48 pen.). The Road to Success is a really different stadium in almost every kind of way, from structure to how the air feels when you breathe it. Noone comes back as he enters. A magical experience indeed. Holy Lake FC's official stadium, built by White Watêr SA.

Image
The stadium from air before being completely reformed.

Image
The stadium after complete reform, after a heavy rain that left the pitch unusable for a month.

It's located in Central Lake City, Trilakea's capital. Trilakeans are rabid consumers, but very welcoming, any team will be welcome. They all speak english and some speak Euskara due to Sakhoveli influence.

Well... since only two nations sent their stadium description... I have to declare that... Once again, Swyftlandre will be hosting the final match of the Campionato Esportivano di Campeones. "But they didn't even post it at the topic!" Well, Swyft sent me this bid by Telegramming before the contest, because of RL issues. Here is the bid he sent.

When are you accepted CEdC bids for Stadia again? Since I'm going to be in London until Sunday so I may miss the cutoff. Leaving this here anyway, I'll resend it if it's required, but it's just a precaution.
---
Name of the Stadium: Swyftlandre Country Stadium
City: San Swyft
Teams who play there: San Swyft FC
Biography:
Swyftlandre Country Stadium is the Pride and Joy of the Nation, becoming a massive hub for the nations football, hosting the finals of the past three Swyftlandre Champions Leagues and the past two Emperors Scepters, as well as the Finals to the Third and Sixth Friendly Cups and potential host of the Finals of the Fourth Campionato Esportiva and it's resume is set to continue growing. The stadium is housed in the Capital of San Swyft, Swyftlandre and plays host to Swyftlandre's National Team and San Swyft FC. Built in 1998, this historical Stadium was constructed with that purpose in the mind, funded by Swyftlandre Motor Company 'Maximillion Motors' and being named M.M. Arena. It is notable that the predecessor to the Champions League was the 'Maxilmillion Motors First (And Second) League'.

The company capitalized on the Football Stadium, raking in Ѻ1,850,000 through Ticket Sales and TV Viewings alone, with a rise of Motor Sales bringing in an extra Ѻ4,500,300. Upon the dawn of the S.F.C. (Swyft Football Confederation), Maximillion Motors received a whopping Ѻ20,000,000 to hand over the league and stadium, while still retaining 15% Shares in the S.F.C.! The stadium was promptly renamed the (Maximillion Motors) Swyftlandre Country Stadium, to emphasize it's importance on the world of football. It was recently reformed to host a potential 70,000 Fans, instead of 30,000.

The Swyftlandre Football Confederation has confirmed that this will be the last Host Bid for atleast two cycles and believe that this will benefit the nations economy and profile of Football in the global world and has been given the go ahead by the government. Should the Bid be succesful, than NSI is permitted 15% of any money turned in during this season.
Image of the Stadium: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NEvwraP1wco/T ... /bukit.jpg

---
So, watcha think of this one. Again, sorry for sending it early.

Now, don't worry, NSI won't be claiming those 15%. It wouldn't be right anyways. The stadium that will be hosting the 3PPO will be the Road to Success, sent by Trilakea. I don't need to copy-and-paste Trilakea's bid because it was the last post here. Well, now we have another very insteresting competition. The Sponsor Competition! Yes, the CEdC will have sponsors! So how will it work? Simple, in case you want to participate, fill in this form:

And then post it here!

So, how does it work? The top one bid will be the principal sponsor, having the right of giving a merchandising name to it, like Copa Santander Libertadores or Brasileirão Petrobrás, per example. The second and third placed bids will become major sponsors, with a bigger position at the new banner I'll be making for CEdC. And the fourth til the tenth will be minor sponsors. If we don't achieve the limit of ten, then I'll be adding NSI companies to fill in the lower spots. The cut-off will be in November 11th, 2012 at 13:00 PM, BST (Brazilian Standard Time) and I'll be revealing who won after it. Oh, and there is one little thing I forgot. 1) You can add sponsors even if you don't participate of the tournament itself, but you have to be from Esportiva or have a puppet at it. 2) There is a limit of five bids per user.

GOOD LUCK!

Company: Crystal Water
Industrial Sector: Primary (Water from our three lakes)
Logo: http://img854.imageshack.us/img854/3856 ... lwater.png
Bio: Crystal Water was established on 544 AI (after independence). It was established by multimillonnaire Sher Lenny. He was the first to abuse of the three lakes that were located in Trilakea, named after exactly those three rivers. He had help to penetrate their "sacredness", as he was friend with the, when there was one, king (King Thomas Anson to be precise). After he got to do that, he just started extracting water with all his industrial power and quickly became the most powerful trilakean, tied with the king. However, big changes came when he died.
His best friend, Jaakob Chadwick, took his place as said on Lenny's will. He then decided that the future of the company was researching how water could be better. It was water up to then, until he invested on researching how to put extra vitamins on it. Now-a-days, this can be easily seen in all the bottles across Trilakea. There's currently water enriched with all and everything healthy you could imagine. The most sold forms of Crystal Water are "crystal water" and "water". The earlier is one with many nutrients, vitamins, lipids, carbohydrates and many more, while the latter is simple, cherished, natural water. Crystal Water is a corporate superpower in Trilakea, how much of a corporate superpower it is ni the world, that's unkown. Due to this it's that they're seeking sponsoring, in the Campionato Esportivano di Campiones, to be exact. The current CEO is called Dalibor Chadwick, Jaakob's son.

A bid or the CEdC? But... how can this be? But yes, from the great city of Basil itself, at least the westernmost part of it, comes none other than...

Company Name: Rancor Industries
Industrial Sector: Brewing (Beer production)

Image

Bio: The community famous Rancor Industries has decided to venture out into the mysterious world of international sponsorship. Why? Company leaders may have decided that Rancor needs a better public image after a scandal in which thirty-seven people were killed by a now-recalled "venom and glass" beverage. Says James Hunt, former president of the country and now media liaison for the company, "We love the CEdC. And we love green beer. And we know everyone else will too."

Rancor also faces stiff competition from domestic rivals such as Enamel Industries, who also produce colored beer. However, Enamel's bid for sponsorship was prematurely shut down by the Swiss government when it was revealed that Enamel's leading "strawberry beer" was actually just red paint in a can. Rancor may wish to surpass their petty disputes and gain a stronger foothold on the industry by sponsoring. Whether their bid will be accepted or not is another question. Hunt has announced, though, that if they are chosen as a CEdC sponsor, the company will release a new flavor called "Do You Like Football? This Is What One Would Taste Like If It Was A Beer."

What the... ANOTHER bid from the Swiss. God, the last one was so awful it made us want to cry. Oh well, I guess we have to pretend to look at it. Here goes...

Company Name: Quid Pro Regimen Ergometer (or for short, "QPRE")
Industrial Sector: Production of torture devices

Image

Bio: Ever since its inception in the Late Middle Ages, QPRE has been the classiest and most reliable of all companies which are tasked with the production of ever-important torture devices. Where other iron maidens or torture wheels may lack in aesthetic value or long-term durability, QPRE products are made to deliver as much possible torture in the least amount of time. QPRE has also kept up with the times, adopting new items such as the infamous SAT prep class or the dreaded 2000 meter rowing machine test.

QPRE can also be commended on their fabulous customer service, which is available 24/7 for people to make sure they are using the specialized equipment on themselves and others. Most recently, a new measure has been passed meaning every torture device made can now be self-operated, meaning that the archaic and ridiculous need to rely on other people to receive one's torture has done away with. This has been best expressed in the widely praised new ad by QPRE, in which citizens shout, "I want my torture, and I want it NOW!"

QPRE does not hold any liability for any damage caused by their devices in any way shape or form. Though a vocal minority has expressed concern over the inherent dangers of QPRE products, executives of the company have dismissed their claims. "After all," they say. "It's just torture."

~~ BIDDING RESULTS! ~~

Postby Northern Sunrise Islands » Tue Nov 13, 2012 1:33 pm

Now, yeah, I know I should've gave you all the results some time ago, but there are Good reasons for me to not give you the results on the right time.

Anyways, these are the results.

PRINCIPAL SPONSOR: Crystal Water (Trilakea)
MAJOR SPONSOR: Rancor (Free Swiss States)
MAJOR SPONSOR: Quid Pro Regimen Ergometer (Free Swiss States)
MINOR SPONSOR: ITV (Northern Sunrise Islands) ¹
MINOR SPONSOR: Snowflake Games (Northern Sunrise Islands) ¹
MINOR SPONSOR: Komodo Cars (Northern Sunrise Islands) ¹
MINOR SPONSOR: Fairtrade Bank (Northern Sunrise Islands) ¹

¹ Since there were only three bids, the four spots were occupied by NSI companies.

That means Trilakea can have the option of renaming the Tournament to Crystal Water's Campionato Esportivano di Campiones. And I shall be making banners for the tournament, so that we have cool looks such as the worldwide UICA tournaments. So, Good Luck!

So... After that load of capitalism thrown in this post, here is the information about the second edition of the Crystal Water's Campionato Esportivano di Campeones! This time, the tournament features five new nations, which will be joining the other seven nations that continued from the last tournament as Cyprardeos, Earo and Asadur decided to not participate or didn't have the time to.

With this increase of participations, the tournament will have a different formula, but with some similarities to the last season's formula. So, how will it work, you're probably asking. Well, this is how it will roll. First, we have the First round, as three groups of five teams will play for the three spots left in the Second Round. The Second Round consists of twelve groups of four teams, while the first-placed team of each group plus the four best runners-up will participate at the Third and Final Round. The Third and Final Round is your common knockout round, as usual. So let's proceed with the draw for the First Round, shall we?

Group M
Toti (FSS)
Montfort Wanderers (LIC)
Junfan Evergrande (CHU)
Police Service (NCB)
FC Brimstone (APX)

Group N
Matthew City Senators (NSI)
New Rushmore (ISL)
Anderson City (SLE)
OE Penthesilea (AYP)
Holy FC (TRI)

Group O
Emporfenn FC (SWY)
Magmadon FC (WES)
Käcu Bon-gës (DAN)
A-Block (HOL)
FC Groenigen (CYB)

Group M and Group N already have their favorites in some way, since both Matthew City Senators and Montfort Wanderers not only did go well, but were pretty much of the only teams that alraedy participated of the CEdC and managed to get into the First Round. Group O is the one that could be the upsetter, though.

OOC: I'll update this post later to post the Second Round Groups and then scorinate the tournament.

The Swiss Daily - Bringing you the least creative titles in all Swiss media, not to mention terible editi&ng

Today was a sad day for Swiss soccer as no Swiss team qualified to the Third round of the Esportivan Campionato. The club team Shaolin Boosters came close, finishing second in the group, but in the end failed like so many before them. I, the writer, will now pause to go into a deeply reflective twenty minute free-association period, and you the reader won't be able to do anything about it, because you're the reader. Need I explain more? Guess what? I was busy free-associating in between the "you're the reader," and "Need I explain more," even though I wrote them as if they were a continuous thought! Such power I have! Guess what? I went and used the bathroom in between those last two sentences! Aha! There's nothing you can do! I HAVE SUCH POWER.... POWER TO RULE THE WORLD! AHAHA HA HAHA HA HAHAHAHAHA AAAAAAAAHAHAHA

Campionato Esportiva VI: Point Score+BonusPoints*/Games Played x4
Campionato Esportiva V: Point Score+BonusPoints*/Games Played x2
Campionato Esportiva IV: Points Scored+Bonus Points*/Games Played x1
Campionato Esportiva III: No longer used in creating rankings.
Campionato Esportiva II: No longer used in creating rankings.
Campionato Esportiva I: No longer used in creating rankings.

Post CEVI rankings can be found here: Rankings!
