Shaf Motors Inc: The Pursuit Of Perfection (Closed)

Postby Shaff » Wed Nov 25, 2009 7:55 pm

Shaf Motors Inc. is a multinational corporation headquartered in Shaff. Since it was first founded, Shaf has developed a reputation for vehicle reliability and customer service, as measured by independent surveys. Consumer ratings firm J.D. Power and Associates has named Shaf the most reliable brand in Shaff. fourteen times, based on its Vehicle Dependability Survey of over 53,000 vehicle owners and problems experienced in the first three years of ownership.Through 2008, Consumer Reports has also named Shaf among the top five most reliable brands in its Annual Car Reliability Surveys of over one million vehicles across Shaff.

Shaf originated from a clandestine flagship sedan project that began in 1983. This effort developed into the original Shaf LS, which was the first vehicle to wear the Shaf marque upon its launch in 1989. In following years, Shaf added sedan, coupé, convertible, SUV, and truck models. In 2005, hybrid models were subsequently introduced to the Shaf lineup. In 2007, Shaf launched its F marque performance division with the arrival of the IS F sport sedan.

Shaf has become known for efforts to project a luxury image, particularly with service provided after the sale. The waiting areas in service departments are replete with amenities, ranging from refreshment bars to indoor putting greens.Dealerships typically offer complimentary loaner cars and free car washes, and some have added on-site cafes and designer boutiques. Service bays are lined with large picture windows for owners to watch the servicing of their vehicle. In 2005, Shaf also began reserving parking lots at major sporting arenas, entertainment events, and shopping malls, with the only requirement for free entry being the ownership of a Shaf vehicle. An owner publication, Shaf Magazine, features automotive and lifestyle articles and is issued quarterly online. In 2010, JCK Motors bought 49% of the company. Shaf Motors Inc., owns 100% of SMC Ltd, 85% of Foehn Automotive, 50% of Police Vehicles Inc., shares in energy giant Zastava and Montana Incorprated. Hopefully, this will allow Shaf Motors compete in international markets around the globe.

Model LineUp:

1. Shaf FX - A Full-Size Pickup Truck - $35,677
The FX was introduced at the 2006 Shaf Auto Show. It had some cues from the Shaf FTX concept truck. One unique styling element used fenders that bulged to resemble a biceps muscle. The truck had many enhancements, such as a towing capacity of up to 10,000+ lb, a payload capacity of over 2,000 lb (910 kg), a new 5.7-liter 3UR-FE V8 engine mated to a new 6-speed automatic transmission. The second generation Tundra has 3 engines available.

The Double Cab is available with a 6.5-foot (2.0 m) bed, regular bed, or an 8-foot (2.4 m) long bed, while the Crew Max is only available with a 5.5-foot (1.7 m) short bed. The FX also features a new 6-speed automatic transmission which can lockup the torque converter in 5th and 6th gears with a manual shift mode which is standard with the 5.7-liter, and gives it a 0-60 time of 6.3 seconds, and a quarter mile time of 14.7 seconds.

Shaf made the new FX useful for many construction workers, by including extra large door handles, deck rail system, integrated tow hitch, and headrests that can fit a worker with his hard hat on. The FX also includes as standard: an automatic limited slip differential (Auto LSD), Vehicle Stability Control, traction control, electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist, anti-lock brakes and tailgate assist.

Some other changes Shaf included in the new FX are optional tow mirrors, a 26.4 US gal (100 L; 22 imp gal) fuel tank, available 22-inch (560 mm) alloy wheels, backup camera, Bluetooth, large center console (big enough to fit a 15-inch (380 mm) laptop), and extra-large disc brakes and calipers.

All FX's come equipped with a tow package which includes engine oil and transmission coolers, integrated trailer hitch, 4.30:1 axle ratio, and large braking hardware for increased fade resistance.

The FX comes equipped with dual front airbags, front row side torso airbags, and rollover sensing side curtain airbags for both the front and rear rows. 3. Shaf SC - A Personal Luxury Coupe - $45,999
In contrast with the previous generation model, the redesigned Shaf SC was intended as a convertible from its inception. Shaf designers from around the country worked together to create the convertible's sleek, streamlined design. Led by chief engineer Saif Khan, designers traveled to the romantice regions of Shaf to develop the vehicle's exterior shape, and studied the region's architecture, lifestyle, and harbors. The resulting convertible received character lines similar to the region's yachts, in contrast with traditional waveform lines. The vehicle's side profile, the product of extensive wind tunnel testing, was intended to channel air around the passenger compartment at high speed during top-down driving.

The SC chassis featured a double-wishbone setup for both the front and rear wheels. The vehicle platform shared elements with the GS sport sedan, including variable-assist power rack-and-pinion steering. Safety systems ranged from traction control to vehicle stability control. The convertible received a ULEV emissions certification rating.

The SC featured a retractable aluminium hardtop, all-leather interior with brushed-aluminum accents, navigation screen with folding wood panel, and 18 inch aluminium wheels. Chrome Shaf emblems were mounted on the back of the front seat headrests. The coupe could technically seat four, but rear seat space is limited. The hardtop could fully retract in 25 seconds. Standard luxury features include Espresso Walnut or Bird's Eye Maple wood trim, a Mark Levinson premium sound system, DVD-based navigation system, and headlamp washers. For additional trunk space, the SC is equipped with run-flat tires.

At its launch, the SC was marketed as the "jewel of Shaf", and as the marque's first convertible, was intended as a more ostentatious addition to the Shaf lineup. Reviewers from Car and Driver magazine praised the SC for 2000 as "an unqualified success," calling it "comfortable, fast, smooth, and quiet" with "all of the virtues expected in a patrician roadster."

Engine:
Power was provided by a 4.3 L 3UZ-FE V8 engine with variable valve timing (VVT-i) mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. This engine was the same model as that found in the previous generation Shaf LS. The SC 's V8 could produce 288 hp (214.76 kW) and 430 N·m (317 lb·ft) of torque, allowing the coupe to go from 0-60 in 6.2 seconds.

11. Shaf LX - A Full-Size Luxury Sport Utility Vehicle - $75,900
The engine is tied to a six-speed sequential-shift automatic transmission with an all-new 4WD system which uses an electronic Torsen center differential. Notably, the latest LX loses the plastic lower body side cladding leaving the paint exposed and Night View is discontinued.

Compared to its predecessor, the LX is four inches (102 mm) longer overall and one inch wider, while retaining the same wheelbase length. A third of the frame's body mass is made from high-tensile steel, along with the entire B-pillar, and all three crossmembers which are made from hydroformed steel. Like the Shaf FX a the tow hitch is integrated into the frame.

Standard equipment included power 16-way driver and 12-way front passenger seats with lumbar adjustment and seat heaters, leather upholstery, premium sound system, power moonroof, and trunk pass-through. The climate control offered the first infrared body temperature sensors and ceiling air diffusers in an automobile. An "Executive" seating package on the LS ncluded a rear seat DVD entertainment system, swivel tray table, and a shiatsu massaging ottoman seat.

The addition of an automated parallel parking assist feature, the first of its kind in Shaff, allowed the LS too steer itself into pre-selected parking spaces.Other drive assist features varied from a brake hold system to radar cruise control, electric variable gear ratio power steering and electronically controlled braking. The new stability control system was improved to anticipate skids and alter steering assist and gear ratios. The suite of new safety features extended from a eye-tracking driver monitoring system to a lane departure warning system. The pre-collision system added the first production image processing chip in a car capable of identifying vehicles and pedestrians in real time, along with millimeter-wavelength radar, stereo cameras, and infrared night vision projectors. A rear pre-collision system with whiplash-preventing active seat headrests and dual-chamber front airbags were also introduced.

New technology included automatic high beam lights and a self-repairing clear coat for the exterior paint. The standard cabin received additional chrome trim, an optional DVD entertainment system behind the center armrest, and in certain markets, an all-digital instrument panel with night vision capability. A new interior customization program, "L-Select", also became available for LS customers in Shaff.

5. Shaf GTF - A Two Door Coupe - $ 200,000
The production version of the GTF debuted at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show, launching in the Shaffian market on December 6, 2010. The rest if the world in April 16, 2011. The large disparity in initial marketing between these releases is due to Shaf having to build GTF performance centers where the car is serviced. Also the engine and rear-mounted dual-clutch gearbox are built by hand, thus limiting production to around 1000 cars a month.

Specifications:
The Shaf GTF is powered by the VR38DETT engine, a 3,799 cc (3.8 L; 231.8 cu in) DOHC V6. Two parallel Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries (IHI) turbochargers provide forced induction. Production vehicles produce a manufacturer-claimed engine output of 474 bhp (353 kW) at 6400 rpm and 457 lb·ft (620 N·m) at 3200-5200 rpm. The engine meets California Air Resources Board Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV) standards. A curb weight of 1,730 kg (3,800 lb) or 1,736 kg (3,830 lb) with side curtain airbags is achieved using a jig welded steel chassis with aluminum used for the hood, trunk, and doors. A rear mounted six-speed BorgWarner dual clutch semi-automatic transmission is used in conjunction with the ATTESA E-TS system to provide power to all four wheels and along with Shaf's Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC-R) aids in stability. Three shift modes can also be selected for various conditions. The GTF has a drag coefficient of 0.27.

6. Shaf LFA - A Two-Seat Exotic Sports Coupe - $375,000
The Shaf LFA is exclusively designed, developed, and is produced By F Sport designers.

This car is powered by a 72° 4.8-liter V10 engine equipped with dual VVT-i carrying the 1LR-GUE designation with a maximum output of 560 PS (412 kW) delivered at 8,700 rpm. Its maximum torque output of 354 lb·ft (480 N·m) arrives at 6,800 rpm, 90 percent of which is available from 3,700 rpm. The engine redlines at 9,000 rpm, but with a fuel cutoff set at 9,500 rpm,and is constructed using forged aluminum pistons, forged titanium connecting rods, and solid titanium valves. Dry sump lubrication prevents engine oil starvation through high speed corners and lowers the engine's center of mass. Air is fed directly from beneath the hood through a visible slit passing into a dual stage variable intake manifold and then into ten individual throttle bodies before finally exiting from a dual stage titanium muffler.

The LFA's engineers attempted to make the engine sound like that of a Formula One car with high revs, while at the same time maintaining typical Shaf reliability and vibration control. By selecting a V10 engine over an equivalent displacement V8 engine, reciprocating mass is reduced, allowing for more rapid engine response. Shaf claims their engine can rev from idle to its redline in 0.6 seconds and an analog tachometer needle could not accurately track the GT's changes in engine speeds. This necessitated the use of digital tachometer which can instantly display engine speed. The engine reportedly weighs less than the manufacturer's own 3.5-liter 2GR-FE V6 engine.

The powerplant gives the LFA a power-to-weight ratio of 5.9 lb/hp and enables it to reach a top speed of around 202 mph (325 km/h). The engine exceeds Euro V emissions. The engine is installed with a front mid-engine placement. According to Chief Engineer Sameer Khan a front engine layout was selected instead of a mid engine layout as it is inherently more forgiving dynamically, affording less experienced drivers a wider safety net.

Transmission:
The gearbox itself is a six-speed Automated Sequential Gearbox (electrohydraulic transmission) operated with paddle-shifters developed and constructed in-house by Shaf. The driver can select from four settings, auto, normal, sport and wet. In the sport mode, the manufacturer quotes minimum upshift times of 200 ms. According to Sameer a dual-clutch transmission was tested but the design team felt gear changes were overly smooth, resembling that of a traditional automatic and they preferred more abrupt and mechanically engaging shifts. However the auto mode and low speed performance suffer as a result. A Torsen limited slip differential is also applied on the LFA, and a launch control system is available.

Chassis:
The Shaf LFA's frame is made from an in-house designed and manufactured carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) center monocoque with aluminum front and rear subframes. The subframes, which can be removed and replaced minimizing potential repair costs, are joined to the monocoque using a newly developed aluminum flanged collar designed to create a stronger joint. According to the manufacturer, the quality of the CRFP material matches that of aeronautical grades and is weaved by a laser monitored circular loom, one of only two in the world. Overall 65% of the vehicle's total body mass is CFRP material while the remaining 35% is aluminum. Manufacturer data indicates that the use of CFRP saves 100 kg (220 lbs) over equivalent aluminum materials.

An electric power steering rack with a 14.3:1 gear ratio is used. The front suspension utilizes a double-wishbone arrangement and there is a multi-link arrangement at the rear with coil-over dampers at all wheels. The dampers are a monotube design, each with a remote fluid reservoir that includes an expanding and contracting bellows, this is a purely mechanical system. The LFA further features six-piston front and four-piston rear Brembo monobloc brake calipers with 390 mm (15.4 in) front and 360 mm (14.2 in) rear carbon ceramic discs controlled by Shaf's Electronically Controlled Brake brake-by-wire system. Forged 20-inch BBS wheels fitted with 265 mm (10.4 in) front and 305 mm (12.0 in) rear Bridgestone next-generation Pontenza tires are standard.

To maintain a near ideal weight distribution, a rear transaxle is used, in addition to the mounting of the fuel tank ahead of the rear axle and the radiators at the rear. The windshield washer fluid reservoir is mounted in the center next to the fuel tank to improve further the center of weight. Overall 48% of the LFA's mass is distributed along the front wheels with 52% at the rear. The 73 liter fuel tank itself saddles the exhaust system keeping weight centered along the left-right axis. The engine is connected to the transaxle via a rigid carbon-fiber torque tube which the exhaust system runs directly below. This stacked driveshaft and exhaust arrangement decreases the width of the center tunnel allowing for centrally located seating.

The LFA body features sharp edges and cutoffs for improved aerodynamic performance, made possible by the carbon fiber body. The body was designed with an emphasis on downforce. There are air scoops located over the rear fenders which feed the aft-mounted radiators. The speed-sensitive rear wing incorporates a Gurney flap and deploys at speeds over 50 mph. With the wing retracted the GT's body has a drag coefficient of Cd 0.31.

Interior:
The LFA interior incorporates carbon fiber, leather, alcantara, and metallic surfaces. There are two bucket seats, and Shaf's Remote Touch controller interface. The instrument display is a digital speedometer with color-changing background, size-changing numbers, and side-appearing submenus. The LFA features a new driver and passenger seat-belt airbag design increases similar to the S-Class ESF safety concept car. The steering wheel feaures a right-mounted start button, and alloy paddle-shifters. A 12-speaker Mark Levinson sound system with compact lightweight components was also developed for the interior.

Shaf Hybrid Models:

Image

1. Shaf HSh: An Entry-Level Luxury Sedan - $43,899
The HSh represents the first dedicated hybrid vehicle in the Shaf lineup, as well as the first offered with an inline four gasoline engine. Bioplastic materials are used for the vehicle interior. To cater to environmentally-conscious buyers, the HSh design included carbon footprint-reducing considerations, including the adoption of plant-derived "eco-plastic" (bioplastic) materials for the interior, cargo space, and foam injected areas. Bioplastic plant sources include kenaf fibers and castor seeds. Kenaf-based material was previously used in the Shaf GS rear interior. 85 percent of the vehicle is fully recyclable. The HS features a Harmonious Driving Navigator system which monitored efficient driving characteristics and compared them with others to determine the 'greenest' overall driver.

Standard Features:
Technological features offered on the HSh include a pop-up navigation and infotainment system with Remote Touch controller, a Mark Levinson premium sound system, and safety systems. The Remote Touch system is used with the GPS navigation system and operates using haptic feedback.

Safety systems include an Intelligent Highbeam (IHB) system, Lane Keep Assist (LKA) system, and onboard cameras. The IHB senses oncoming vehicles and adjusts lighting to prevent glare. The LKA system, operating in conjunction with the radar adaptive cruise control, helps keep the vehicle in its lane. Up to five onboard cameras include Wide-View Front and Rear-View backup cameras. These cameras allow the driver to see around corners. The LED detector Driver Monitoring System warns if the driver is not paying attention and obstacles are detected in the vehicle's path, preventing accidents due to drowsiness or distraction. A Pre-Collision System is designed to minimize damage from accidents.

PowerTrain:
The gasoline-powered portion of the HS powertrain is the 2.4L 2AZ-FXE inline-four engine. The 2AZ-FXE produces 147 hp (110 kW) and 105 ft·lbf (142 N·m) of torque at 4000 revolutions per minute. This is assisted by a 40 hp (30 kW) electric motor for a total combined output of 187 hp (139 kW).

The HSh EPA fuel economy is estimated at 50 miles per gallon in the city and 65 miles per gallon on the highway. The HSh's engine runs on the Atkinson cycle, and the powertrain uses a continuously variable transmission. A 90 pounds (41 kg) nickel metal hydride battery situated beneath the rear seats serves to power the electric motor. An additional system included on the HSh's Shaf Hybrid Drive powertrain is an exhaust-heat recovery system to reduce engine warm-up periods (optimizing engine start-stop times).

The HSh can be operated in either driver-selectable EV, Eco, or Power modes. The EV mode is suited for short-distance pure electric driving at speeds of up to 20 miles per hour (32 km/h), the Eco mode can be selected for the greatest fuel efficiency in mixed gas-electric driving, and the Power mode offers more performance in contrast to the Eco mode. The 0-60 time is listed at 8.4 seconds and the top speed is 112 miles per hour (180 km/h).

The Grittonii Dragoni Stock Exchanges wishes to give your company a offer it can't refuse.
The Gritonii Dragoni Stock Exchange is the largest Grittonian Stock Exchange and is willing to provide your company with a currency boost of G$250 million ($397,75 million). In trade, the GDSE wishes to recieve 10 million stocks of your company. This would mean that the Stock Worth is a whopping G$25 ($39,775) per stock.

Should your company accept, we wish to know how much % the 10 million Stock is and how you would want to recieve the money.
