No punishment, aside from possibly offending one's neighbors.

There is no real punishment for flag burning in Kalashvil, however it is extremely frowned upon and considered an offence to everything the nation has been fighting for.

Kulverintian Law Book - Article 3.2.15 - regarding the status of flags:

"As in accordance with the criminal damage act (1.18.45), any flag (A piece of cloth recognised by Kulverint as a national symbol) of any nation, a royal or government standard, but not personal logos, is owned by the state of which it represents. Therefore, unless the Kulverintian government has sanctioned this flag as representing an "evil" nation or organisation, then it is subject to these laws, as well as the law against racism (2.18.924), as flag burning of nations not recognised by the govenment as "evil" is a racial offence. If it cannot be proven that the damage was purposeful and not accidental, then total sentence 5 years."

Flag burning is not illegal, per se, but most people won't like you when you do it. Expect anything from dirty looks, to thrown vegetables, to thrown fists, bricks, and stones.

People have only recently fought and died underneath the Tropidoran flag, and like many combat veterans, they do not take kindly to those who disrespect the physical representation of an ideal which many fought for, and for which those they called friends died.

The penalty for flag burning in Dorksonia is rather harsh. The guilty are forced to lay their head on their side and molten lead is poured into one ear, until it comes out the other side.
Strange, there hasn't been a flag burning incident in Dorksonia in more than 3 years now; but I remember it. It was great fun to watch!

Unlawfully destroying property of the State is not considered "free" or "symbolic" speech in any form whatsoever.
Besides, Verlorenis do not have a so-called 'right to free speech' in the first place, so the suggestion is rather ludicrous.

If committed during normal conditions, the crime is prosecuted under malicious mischief laws, punishment depending on the value of the flag.
If committed at a political rally, dissent or treason charges may apply as well, which can be punished by long prison sentences or the death penalty.

It is Frowned upon, but not illegal. However if you decide to burn Dyanstia's Flag, it is not illegal for the Onlookers to beat you (NOT KILL). The burning of Sicily's Flag, of which we were a Colony, Is Punishable by Waterboarding, twice a day every 5 hours for 1 week per minute the flag burned (OOC: Im a huge supporter of it)

Like many things in Mephras, burning of the flag is in theory considered a crime against the dignity of the Empress, and if found out by certain members of the ruling class, could result in prison sentences. However, in practice, such a law is almost never enforced, only being used when a crime is needed to imprison or defame someone disliked by a noble.

No need to punish. Flag burners are ripped a part on the spot by the patriotic population. Though considered very bad form.

Burning the flag of Brandenburg-Altmark, or the coat of arms of the royal family, or anything relatable to the state, is harshly punished. The government does it's best to provide for the people, and in doing so, disrespect to it's establishments and heads of state is not tolerated. Free speech is one thing, but attacking the government as opposed to giving rational discourse is something else entirely. Depending on the context of the "demonstration," flag burning can be anywhere from a fine to the death penalty, or in between.

It is not illegal, but highly unadvised because our flag is made of steel wool. Also all injuires form flag burning will not be treated in government hospitals because whoever burns the flag is knowingly at risk of self-harm.

While flag burning is legal and common at protests, the people who protest in New Citizens are generally guilty of something else and are soon arrested when they get back home from the protest.
