We of the Elder Republic are proud to make a formal international announcement that the Elder Republic’s former embassy establishment program has been reorganized by Esselda Demelyr. This reorganization allows the Elder Republic to fully integrate itself into the international discussion of embassies and consulates, and formally invites all nations to establish new embassies in the Elder Republic. For more information on the Elder Republic, please visit the State Department’s official dispatches. For official information on the accepted domestic establishments and foreign dignitaries, please view the State Department’s Elder Republic Diplomatic Initiative dispatch. Below are the registration forms accepted by Congress for the purpose of expanding international diplomatic interactions. For embassies and consulates, please search below for the appropriate registration. For the establishment of agreements, please request it by written missive.
Regarding Location
All of the official embassies in the Elder Republic are to be settled in the Official Embassy District in Ephays, where as consulates may be placed at different locations throughout the Elder Republic, chosen by request. The territory within the embassy’s perimeter is personal property of the owner of said embassy. However, at any moment in time under which the personnel of the embassy exit its territorial bounds, they are expected to follow the laws of the Elder Republic and respect Thedosian people and customs.
Additionally, the Elder Republic accepts various different types of embassy designs. Should the nation in question request a specific design of their own, the Elder Republic Diplomatic Initiative is capable of accepting (or rejecting and proposing) different such designs.

Regarding Personnel
Personnel count working within the vicinity of an international embassy cannot exceed eighty people. At most, of these, only twenty can be armed personnel. Should the personnel count exceed this limit, the embassy is given five working days during which time the embassy must work to deal with the situation. Should no viable action be taken within this time, an appropriate discussion shall be taken to the nation in question from the Elder Republic.
Personnel count working within the vicinity of an international consulate cannot exceed thirty-five people. At most, of these, only eight can be armed personnel. Should the personnel count exceed this limit, appropriate reactions given to embassies apply.
Regarding Weapons and/or Magical Powers
All weaponry stationed within an embassy in the Ambassadorial District in Ephays requires a permit, which is only obtainable through the appropriate examination of the personnel in question, undertaken by the Thedosian Security Service. There is also appropriate training courses which must be taken for each individual seeking an Embassy Weapons Permit to obtain one. Magical powers present in any individual – whether or not they form a part of the embassy’s security team – must not be used in any occasion whilst they occupy an embassy in the Ambassadorial District. Usage of any magical powers is grounds for expulsion of the individual from the Elder Republic. It is for the sake of the occupants of the Elder Republic’s embassies that they know the extent to which the Elder Republic defends the Ambassadorial District; a branch of the Security Service – the Ambassadorial Guard – is prepared to defend the district at all times. Numbering just over five thousand in total force with rotating shifts, they patrol the district in armed vehicles and are the first-response to a major crisis in the district.
In the event that an authorized peaceful protest turns violent within the Ambassadorial District and attempts to assault an embassy, the assigned Ambassadorial Guard unit is authorized to subdue and detain all violent protesters.
For more information, please contact the State Department at information@gisd.gov.
Regarding Vehicles
No more than four ground vehicles can be operated by an embassy. None of these vehicles are to be armed (though re-purposed military vehicles are acceptable). No more than two aircraft (of which both must be categorized as unarmed helicopters or other VTOL transport vehicles – former is preferable) can be operated by an embassy. All diplomatic transportation is subject to tracking devices installed within the vehicle. This is to ensure that all stolen or lost diplomatic vehicles can be recovered as soon as possible and any emergency circumstances can be responded to. These tracking devices cannot be removed – however, Thedosian authorities are not allowed to utilize these trackers unless permission is granted (from either the Ambassador, his or her native country, or the Esselda [or, in the case of absence, either the Varni or the President] by direct order).
Regarding Consulates
Similarly to its embassy program, the Elder Republic provides the choice to establish consulates across many different cities within the Elder Republic. The most important cities have been listed here for your convenience.
Regarding Diplomatic Immunity
Diplomatic Immunity is granted at the end of an approved agreement to establish an embassy in the Ambassadorial District. Members of an embassy’s administrative or technical staff and the Ambassador him-or-herself are not subject to arrest or detainment, subpoena, or prosecution within the Elder Republic; however, they are subject to speeding tickets, fines, and deportation. Furthermore, the Elder Republic notifies all foreign entities that in the event of a dignitary -- whether ambassador or no -- cooperates with terrorist forces in an attempt to attack or harm the Elder Republic or its citizens, the Elder Republic claims all rights to detain said dignitary and place him under federal arrest. For more information, please review the specifications listed below.
