Eh, I can see why. Everyone makes it seem so normal it simply slips past people.

But for people like Ivy and Ed/Will? Hell, even Ciel?

I plan on making her reflect the traditional depiction of Nyarlathotep, although with a much more subtle and pervasive aura of faux kindness and selflessness. Although my secondary character will delve deeper into this, and will reflect that it is all just a facade.

Wait, are you implying Crowley is the Hero? Are you mental? Wait, of course you are.

The RP is based around his development as a person, and most things that happen are the result of his action.

He's the protagonist. Lewis is likely the deuteragonist. Damien the threetagonist (I don't think there's an actual word for it). So on and so forth.

Jade spent years roaming around the country and leaving them in the dust if she needed to, constantly escapign everyone. -shrug- She's used to it, but if someone close to her leaves, she flips out. Yay, hypocrisy.

Also, damn, that means that Jade is going to probably notice and be very confused about Nyarlathotep.

Somehow I doubt that equals to dealing with multidimensional megapocalyptic shit, but whatever, that's just me. Plus she's had one arc to get used to that, so again, whatever.

@Ende: You might perhaps infer why that happens, even against my will, from the above comment.

I only gave Lewis a higher position because he brought in the bears, who have a minor impact on the plot.

To be fair, Ciel's never really been part of "the group". She doesn't know anyone, and Elfen High's a damn big place.

I don't particularly care when I hear on the news that someone has been murdered downtown.

And what was Atlantis to her? She barely even fought. It was really just watching a bunch of assholes she doesn't know hitting other assholes.

The plot was trainwrecked from there.

Well actually, the few people she knew, who would perhaps have given her some sort of link with "the group", have all left.

And she reacted negatively to Atlantis, even if she didn't really fight or was injured gravely...

His development and actions drive the plot.

Think about it - he even fits the Hero's Journey. He's just some shithead occultist who makes friends with an older wizard (Fixban, who was basically Obi-Wan), is called to defeat Loki and the Fae with the help of his magic powers. Fixban's nixed by the enemy ("I will become more powerful than you ever imagined"), and he's begun his transformation.

With the abyss coming up, God help us all.

Actually, I think Crowley's the Supporting Leader, or perhaps the Hero of Another Story. Sure, the overall story is his, and his development and actions drive the plot, but the story doesn't revolve around him.

Or, really, Elfen High is probably just two or three smaller stories combined under one large story (which would be Crowley's).

Oh, but it does - is it not "narrated", in effect, by Crowley's whims? His voice opens each chapter. His voice drives it. He is the man who all of the creatures dead, and he is the man who wants all of the creatures dead. Sort of.

He's, perhaps more aptly, the Bilbo to our dwarfs. Yes, I will be making Hobbit references for a while.

I stopped because a: Nightkill would kill me, b: Nightkill would kill me, c: Nightkill would kill me, d: Nightkill would kill me, e: Nightkill would kill me, f: Nightkill would kill me, and g: there were too many characters and subplots to deal with.

I was planning into splitting the cast into three Cast Herds and plots: (tv tropes, of course) The main plot, James's plot, and Lewis/Damien's plot. I shoveled off enough of the minor characters to make it followable and ended up with a cast of Lewis/Crowley/Minh/Laz/Pierre/Ivy/Jade/James/Malal/Nyarla.

What I got down actually wasn't that bad.

Cut characters. The ones worth keeping would be Damien, Lewis, Laz, Jade, James, and Crowley as a mentor-figure.

The rest can have cameos, but that would be the main cast. Antagonists would be Azazel, Morgan Le Fey, and other henchmen. Uriel would remain the unseen baddie that everyone fears. The Fae might appear, if handled right.

But that's what I would do.
