Okay, that's good. Thanks for the update.

Applications are still open, btw. Anyone who is interested is encouraged to apply. I'd also love to see more from Murgoth, Procastitania, and Memnoch.

I started a wiki to organize the lore. I'll also be putting character sheets up on that site for easier access. Check it out.

The two current characters are up on the wiki:

Korvin Kuchen
Garthov Thikavar

I added the resource "skill" to each and made some minor changes to Garthov's gear list. Currency and ingredients of fire dust are now specified.

as promised here I am

Thoren Dissaver

Thoren has only reached were he is now through three things, practice, experience and equipment, and those three things have been provided by House Vund aplenty. Put simply Thorne is an assassin, it's been his one true job since being connected to House Vund in the early years of his life that he remembers little to nothing about. Thoren is motivated by a greed that comes with the rich pickings of his targets, and their possessions, along with the healthy sum of money or new equipment he is given for every correct job done. Whilst Thoren's goals may seem simple as an assassin there is still a curious part of him that wants to know what he started as, and how he became connected to House Vund in his early years.

1 paragraph describing the character's appearance and personality. Thoren stands just below six foot tall (5'11''), weighing in at 198lb's slightly heavier than average he is still extremely agile. Thoren has coal black hair melts into his long sideburns that run down either side of his face, stopping level with his lower lip and brown eyes that seem to watch people like a hawk, Thoren's skin has more of a greyish tinge than normal, making his other features both stand out and hide at the same time, making most people look at him once and then ignore him. Thoren generally shows no mercy to anybody, and is exceptionally ruthless and aggressive, but he is able to keep all that in until the right time, often exploding into a show of power before pulling back in again. Thoren's mind is very quick, able to think up different strategies for his 'jobs' and see the pros and cons to them, often able to store several plans in his head at once as a backup in case something goes wrong.

Thoren Dissaver
Above average strength (d10)
Highly skilled agility (d8)
High level of health (d8)
Average knowledge of the world (d12)
Impressive perception (d10)
Average sanity (d12)

Thoren Dissaver
An Excellent Marksmen (d8)
a master sword fighter (d6)
a decent poisoner (d12)
a rubbish equestrian (d30)
an elegant freerunner (d8) (if allowed)
a below average socialiser (d20) (can't think of a better word)
a natural tactician (d8)
a decent blacksmith (d12)
Financially secure (d12)
A right 'n' proper Sneaky git (very stealthy) (d8)

Thoren Dissaver
A Quiver with
Compsite bow
Arrows
Two one handed swords (dual wielded in a special pocket)
Two throwing daggers (special sheaths on the front strap of the quiver)

A belt with
A sling
some stones
three vials of poison
A bundle of Garmorgian banknotes
Scraps of bread (for when he needs to eat)

On his person
Hooded cloak (only put's hood up when he doesn't want to be seen, eg when ion a job) (over everything else)
sturdy leather boots
padded leather leggings (bit of protection on them)
leather tunic, long sleeved
Padded leather chest piece.
bracers on both arms
thin leather gloves

Hope this is Ok.

TBA, thanks for the application.

There is a lot of text in the thread so you may have missed it, but the RP will center around House Darab. As stated below, characters from other houses are possible, but they will run tangentially to the other characters and perhaps conflict with them.

Odith wrote: If you'd like to play a character from another House, I will consider your application, but you should be aware that your character may well operate in the margins of the story and you will need a very compelling character.

Your choice of assassin is fine. Another assassin has been proposed, but whether or not that character gets revised and enters the story remains to be seen. Even so, two assassins would be fine, and if they are from different houses, that could be interesting.

The Blazing Aura wrote:Thoren is motivated by a greed that comes with the rich pickings of his targets, and their possessions, along with the healthy sum of money or new equipment he is given for every correct job done. Okay, it seems like Thoren suffers from some kind of amnesia. Do you have ideas about the nature of this memory loss? If you have some ideas kicking around, share them with me in a spoiler or a TG.

The Blazing Aura wrote:Thoren stands just below six foot tall (5'11''), weighing in at 198lb's slightly heavier than average he is still extremely agile. So he's physically nondescript, which provides a certain amount of camouflage through anonymity. He's analytical and restrained in using his abilities, but when he strikes, he strikes hard. Do I have that about right?

Yeah, the other assassin character, Drazar, also has a freerunning skill. It makes sense for an assassin.

A quiver is a container that holds arrows or crossbow bolts. The longbow would probably be slung over his shoulder somehow. The swords would need to be sheathed at his belt -- or if you are wanting them to be concealed somehow, I'm open to that, but I don't think putting them in the quiver is realistic. The special sheaths on the strap of the quiver for the throwing daggers are fine.

The Blazing Aura wrote:A belt with

Money (can't find the currency bit, but it's suffice to say he carries a decent amount on him at all times.)
Scraps of bread (for when he needs to eat)

Currency is detailed here. You can just say that he carries "A bundle of Garmorgian banknotes" and we'll figure out a resource level for him, probably "Financially secure (d12)"; this goes in the skills section.

I'm a little iffy about the chain mail vest, wondering if it would impede his agility or slow him down some. What do you think?

Right going through the points.
1) I'm quite happy being on the margin, I also noted that Vund and Darab are opposed to one another, Thoren could be in this trying to take out part of House Darab or something like that,
2) Assassin on Assassin fight could be very fun on the rooftops
3)Yeah, I suppose amnesia is the best way to put it, to be honest I wasn't really thinking of actually delving too much into that area, despite it being one of his goals, someone could say they hold information on his past almost as a way of controlling him, even if in fact they don't.
4)I like how you've put it into two lines whilst i've made a paragraph of it. Yeah, you've got it spot on.
5)Okay
6) Cool, it seems most of my characters I use have freerunning or something like that so I normally forget about it in the actual app, but that made me think about it.
7) The Quiver, OK, I was thinking of having it slightly enlarged, with separate compartment areas almost, so one bit were the arrows are, another bit for the bow and a third for the two swords, and then a cover or something to go over the top so that whilst Thorne is doing all the tricks and stuff in freerunning he knows his stuff is still in place. I was also thinking of it going diagonally across his back, with the top near his right shoulder, and then it's got a strap running diagonally across his torso at the front, on top of his clothing and on that front strap are the daggers.
The problem with having the two swords sheathed at the belt is how much it would limit him movement wise, but I'll put them there if need be.
8 ) yeah, I think that'd be better, I'll edit my app after this
9) I was thinking of something that gave him protection, maybe a padded leather chest piece instead?

Edited my app with the changes.

Also Look at Legolas' quiver in the LOTR films he has a main 'pocket' for the arrows and a smaller one where he has his two knives, I was thinking something like that, but with a longer pocket for the swords and a separate one for the bow,

Okay, I can see how the short swords would fit into a specially-designed quiver, but I'm still not convinced about the longbow, which would be about the same height as Thoren. A composite bow would be more compact and portable, I think, and have similar range and power.

Alright, APPROVED. Go ahead and move the short swords back from Thoren's belt to his super-secret custom-made assassin's quiver.

I'll work on a post to introduce Thoren into the story, but may not have it up until next weekend.

Rolling perception for Korvin, target 3: 1d12=3.

Korvin percieves what it is, barely, but I don't know what "it" is he percieves.

Gresselda Forester (Tigress)

Gresselda was born the eldest daughter of a sonless game warden of the Ku's wood. When she was sixteen her family was senselessly slaughtered by a Ku, enraged for having been led on a fruitless hunt. Gresselda fled the wilderness. She wandered cold and hungry for several months before coming across a traveling circus troupe. Gresselda had the luck of being born with her fingers, toes, shoulders, and hips double jointed, so she took naturally to escaping confinement, and tumbling. while in the circus she learned how to perpetrate petit crime, and adopted the larger than life persona of Amazing Tigress. For six years Gresselda spent her days as the flamboyant "Amazing Tigress", and the nights stealing from the rich to give to herself. Then one day she was approached by a member of the House Vund spy network. Gresselda accepted the invitation, and for seven months was trained by courtesans in the arts of seduction and manipulation, and by assassins in the arts of stealth and killing. After two expeditions of House Darab foresters went into the wilderness to gather wild ingredients for the House apothecaries and alchemists never to return, Gresselda came into Thault, quickly securing work as House Darab forester. Her work gives her good reason to stay abreast of what House Darab alchemists are doing. In the year and a half Gresselda has been in Thault she has made herself the toast of the town. As the jolly and flirtatious Tigress Gresselda has managed to get on the good side of most of Thault. friendly with the town watch, and a must have for any Upper Crust ball. ( the powerful of Thault don't respect her, but enjoy her like they would a dancing bear ) She is right where she needs to be for now.

Gresselda is a slender 5' 6" with reddish blond hair, and big blue eyes. She dresses flamboyantly in a cloak made of giant siberian tiger fur. Thanks to her House Vund benefactors she has high quality armor. Gresselda has a breast plate, Bracers, short skirt, and knee high boots. The armor looks like plain black boiled leather, but it is steel chainmail sandwiched between two layers of leather. Gresselda's impeccably fit breast plate gives her c cups a level of lift and support virtually unknown to the other women of Thault, and while the deep plunging V of her neckline is not tactically sound it helps her win "other" battles. Her matched set of short swords are just as unique as she is. they feature a 24in flame-blade basket-hilt with four prongs coming up off the basket, similar to the prongs on the side of a Sai. Gresselda wears them crossed behind her back hilts down covered by her cloak. She keeps a knife hidden in her left bracer, and a set of lock picks in her right. When she is on a job she also carries a Composite recurve bow, and Quiver of poison arrows. In the wilderness Gresselda carries a backpack with water, smoked meats, bedroll, and miscellaneous camping gear. By day she is the Tigress, flamboyant, sexy, and graceful, men want her women want to be her. The only cracks in her facade are the dark bags under her bloodshot eyes. The weight of all the lies, secrets, and murders are starting to affect her. At night Gresselda suffers from night terrors, and gets little sleep which exacerbates the growing feelings of paranoia she's having. Gresselda sees everything in the world as predator or prey. With every new day she feels more and more like prey.

Tigress has...
average of strength (d12)
catlike of agility (d8)

Okay, when you do please shorten your descriptive paragraphs. Trim this character down. Rather than state that she has a "larger than life persona", show me how that persona acts and how it differs from the "real" Gresselda. The circus angle is fun, but I'd rather the troupe be native to the city. Let's assume Gresselda is a local entertainer, an actress, and as such drew the attention of House Vund. Focus on her being a spy for House Vund. We don't need to know about her family; in fact, it might work better if her past remains a bit murky for now.

Avoid invoking the Ku. Aside from infrequent ceremonial appearances, the most that a typical Garmorgian sees of the Ku is their grotesque architecture. They don't involve themselves with humans in the way you've proposed.

Alright. I recognize that I seem stringent in my requests for revisions, but it's necessary. It takes a bit of time to get a character approved, but I think it's worth it.

My nation is a caricature. Philosophically, I'm a cooperative anarchist. I live in the United States, though, so in practice I just vote Democrat and call it good. Political Compass.
