I always think such declarations are premature; it could be a transient rather than a permanent trend. These fluctuations have happened elsehwere in the world.
Which brings me to my second objection: your poll pertains to people in The United States of America, whereas your title and OP seem to indicate that this is a more general phenomenon. America is not the whole world.
