Around 40000 volunteers sign up to the Polish Armed Forces in the first few days: these volunteers, and any more who come along, will be trained while some of the active ~50000 personnel will be deployed to dig the defence lines.

Von Hötzendorf nodded in agreement. "I'll see if Vienna can secure more men. My friends in Hungary have already informed me the campaign there is going well and Budapest is only days from capture. In regards to your own plans Herr Piłsudski I'm certain we can make the arrangements. As wel if Germany deals with the Baltics effectivly then my legion will simply be directed to Belarus as well." He then peered at the map. And weighed the probable Soviet response. "Now once we attack the Soviets will react sir and we must be ready. Marshal Krobatins army was glad to see the flat grassland rather then the mountains that had held them back so long. Von Krasnik as well wa son the move as the result of the odd circumstances in the mountains. The steppe was superb for veichles especially the twenty-nine armoured cars attached to Krobatins forces. The War Ministry meanwhile had sent explicit orders for him to bridge the danube meanwhile from the south and attack Budapest via the river. Apparently the Nationalists under some man named Horty had several gun boats ready for use. Meanwhile the reports of the communist resistance in Central Hungary were growing already a thousand Austrians and their Hungarain Natioanlist allies had perished.Kun meanwhile was promising that he would burn down Budapest beore he let it fall. Krobatin shook his head with disgust.

Székesfehérvár was a giant hell hole now Sgt. Janos Vardic thought as his cavalry detachment rode through the burning streets using their carbines to pick off the few stragglers in the suburbs. Of course the cavalry was mnore romantic then anything now he reminded himself thanks to the machine gun and the armoured car it was a dying art. Bang! Another shot wizzed past. He however had a solution for that he smirked as he threw a hand grenade into the building BOOM! With that ash spilled out as the hole story collapsed. "Alright we move forward." he ordered as his men finished with the other buildings. They soon went galoping off the Sergant meanwhiule had to laigh maybe not such an art as a lifestyle he smirked.

Mineral and Financial Reparations were delayed and such inefficiency from my government has been dealt with and will not happen again. I wanted to personally pen a apology to my most esteemed friend and Comrade.

However, Such wanton aggression so soon after the last ''conflict'' is extremely distasteful in the eyes of many British citizens and the British parliament.

I would hope that such open Revanchism could be avoided until the wounds of the war were less ''open'' in the eyes of the general population of the nations of Europe and Asia.

Cordially,

Hungary, 1919

As the Austrians reached Székesfehérvár the Romanian armies began to march again too. The run on Budapest had begun.
While the soldiers marched forward, the Romanian propagande was right behind them.
Hungarians were asked to join the Romanian army and fight their real oppressors, the Bolsheviks.

Unfortunately there weren't enough supplies anymore as they made progress too fast.
Every farmer they left behind should give something to them, otherwise he would have to pay high fines.

Bucharest, 1919

But not only in Hungary the propaganda drum had been played.
High members of the Iron Guard decided to do something to recruit new members too.
In several newspapers pictures of their candidate Ion Antonescu had been published, showing him with a sword in one hand and a head in the other. Under the head there was a pool of blood with the word Bolshevik written in it.
The Bolsheviks were almost completely extinct in Romania.

Klaipeda
February 2

After five days of fighting outside Klaipeda, the city was under direct attack by the German Reichswehr, with mild urban fighting. The German Luftwaffe and it's newly produced bomber planes (and others refortified from the Weltkrieg) had taken targets that were NOT the port in the city. The Lithuanians, ill-equipped by their short five month independence from the German Empire AND Russia, there was little resistance in the city. The German Reichswehr had the Reichsmarine bombard the city using their battleships. Admiral Roosevelt had personally lead the battleship fleet into battle, standing onboard the SMS Markgraf, the ship responsible for the short-lived Kiel Mutiny, which had ended the German monarchy and lead to the signing of the Treaty of Versailles.

However, the Markgraf was put in leadership of the German attack fleet, which bombarded the main part of the city.

The Lithuanian army was quickly expunged from the city and the German banner was waved from the city hall in Memel. The German army split, having a group of divisions named "Südosten-Armee", which was ordered to push to Alytus, and use the baseboard city as a way to conquest the capital city, Wilno.

The other part of the army was to cut-off the Lithuanians at the Baltic and seize Kurland from the Latvians, and push northeast towards Riga.

Brussels, Belgium. February 1st, 1919:

Life had slowly returned to normal. Or as normal as you can get once a country has been occupied. Since the end of the war, life in Belgium turned from occupation to wanton violence, with lynchings against collaborators, houses burned, shops looted. But that was all last year. This year, the show trials began. Léon Delacroix, Prime Minister of Belguim, presided over a country that was turning in on itself. He sat at his desk in the Office of the Prime Minister, reading documents by candlelight. He was facing a problem. The Treaty of Versailles had given Belgium new territories in the east of the country, which were populated by Germans and reports of reprisal attacks against the inhabitants were coming into his office. Delacroix had two choices: send in the armed police and even the Army to deal with the unrest and loose popular support, or leave it be and risk loosing support anyway. He didn't look up as there came another knock on his door.

Wilhelmina was reading over the Political reports taken from across Europe and was disappointed. "Did Germany not learn its lesson during the great war"? She shook her head in disappointed and began writing a letter.
Code: Select all
TO: The German Kaiser
From: Wilhelmina of the Netherlands
It may be a little late to comment now, but we are deeply concerned with Germany's senseless aggression against the Baltic states. Was the last war not to end all wars? Do you seek for Germany itself to be in an endless spate of war and suffering? Being one of Europe's largest economic powers we can not condone such actions. However as not to raise agression between us we shall merely raise Tariffs by 35%.

Hitler's face fell into a deep frown. Dutch tariffs had been driven by to 35%, which had caused higher prices. Hitler sighed and shook his head and quickly crumpled up and tossed Wilhelmina's letter into his fire. He turned his attention elsewhere and wiped sweat off his brow before returning to his work.

Recently elected President Epitácio Lindolfo da Silva Pessoa stood before the crowd of men with cameras, paper, and pens before him, this was his first address to the press since his election and he was going to make it a memorable one. He straightened his tie as he stepped out to the wooden podium set up for him, he coughed slightly before addressing the numerous people in front of him, "People of Brazil, lend me your ears and I will tell you what I will for for this nation. Today, I will begin a campaign to better the nation of Brazil, I will show the nations of the world what us, the proud Brazilian people of the Amazon can do without colonial powers across a vast ocean telling us what to do. First off, I will begin a nation wide improvement of infrastructure, roads, railways, and dams will be constructed nationally to better the lives of the Brazilian people. We will establish a gold backed currency, to show that our money is worth something other than dirt, your money will finally mean something. We will better the national public works to help our people in need and to show that we care about those of us who are less fortunate. A university will be established in Rio de Janeiro to make our nation more literate. And finally, we will begin establish garrisons nationally to secure the safety of our nation. Thank you and good day," with that, President Epitacio Pessoa stepped off the stage striding with his usual swagger as he made his way back to his motor escort.

Prime Minister Delacroix looked up from his work as his office door opened with a creak. His assistant, a rather plump brunette with a bun in her hair, stuck her head around the door to make sure she wasn't disturbing. Delacroix gestured for her to come inside. She stepped around the door and closed it quietly behind her. Her heels clicked loudly across the bare wooden floorboards.
"What is it?" Delacroix asked.
"A message from the King himself," she said, handing over the telegram. Much of the pre-war telecommunications network had not been restored, and what had been restored was prone to failures. "He is anxious to know why the Army hasn't been sent into Eupen-Malmedy yet."
"I'm not going to send the Army in to crush a few lawless goons," he replied, removing his reading glasses and rubbing his forehead. "If I do that, the Germans will assume it is an act of aggression and I don't want to be responsible for another invasion. Please inform his Majesty that I would like to meet with him tomorrow morning, when my mind is not clouded by fatigue." His assistant nodded and left the room.

"Sir, are you losing sleep over those Belgians and Dutch?" Konrad Adenauer said, looking at Hitler, "Of course not!" Hitler replied, "Do you think I care wether the Belgians and Dutch like me or not? I'm just here to serve Germany in a full capacity." He snorted and said, "Roosevelt and Hindenburg have reported that at least the front is going well." Adenauer said, "What about that young Captain?... er... Rommel?" Hitler said, "Herr Rommel is expected to be given the Iron Cross for his actions during the Battle of Memel."

Adenauer nodded and said, pointing to Atylus, "We're going to enter the city and attack their positions in the next 16 hours." He pointed to Riga, "We're 36 hours away, but we're about to enter Courland." Hitler said, "And Herr Falkenhausen?" Adenauer said, "I've gotten reports from the Reichswehr that he's currently in Cape Town refueling his boat to head to Rostock."

Hitler nodded and said, "Now... we wait."

Piłsudski could see no problem with von Hötzendorf's plans, and said, "Agreed: I cannot fault your plans, Herr von Hötzendorf. I wish Austria luck in Hungary, and can only hope that the Soviets don't kill us by tomorrow." He chuckled. "Anyway, I believe only one question remains: we can recruit and train the necessary number of men, but when shall we begin? The training of the new recruits should take at most a few months if we hurry, but it's your call concerning the difference between fifty thousand men or at least twice that."

Moscow 1920

With the onset of winter, soviet forces in the east have stalled in their push. In order to retain the integrity of their supply lines, the generals deemed necessary for Red Armies to hunker down and wait until the spring campaigns. During this time, more forces will be moved to the region as they prepare for the final push later in the year.

After nearly half of year of negotiations, the representative of the regional soviets has finally decided on the structure of the union of soviet states. On the 30th of January the leaders of Russia SFSR, Belarusian SSR, Ukraine SSR, and the newly created Transcaucasia SSR declared the formation of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. This newly created Union shall have all powers in relation to their member states foreign policy and in military matters. The individual soviet republic shall still retain the right to conduct domestic policies, but is restricted by the higher Grand Committee that governs all of the Union’s territories.

During the formation of the Union, the government has faced major infighting among communist hardliner led by Leon Trotsky and the moderates led by Lenin. In the end the moderate came out on top with many of the losers sent to “educational camps” in newly liberate Siberia. Josh Stalin, a rising star in the Grand Committee managed to escape the purge relatively unharmed.

Meanwhile the newly victorious moderates enacted a form of temporary isolationism. In doing so, they believed that it shall cool the current anti Bolshevik sentiment across Europe as well as allowing the USSR to rebuild its forces. They have also deployed nearly 200,000 veteran troops to the Polish-Soviet border to counter the Polish troop mobilization.

January 1920

Hitler sat back. An entire year had passed since Germany's fortunes had changed. Since the 1919 Great Leap, Germany had expanded immeasurably. The Baltic States had been conquered by June, and annexed as the Kingdom of Lithuania and United Baltic Duchy (both under direct control), the first under the control of Wilhelm of Urach, Count of Wurttemburg, now enthroned as King Mindaugas II of Lithuania. The Baltic Duchy had accepted a personal union with Wilhelm III, and had opened the gates of settlement in Kurland, as the first German colonialists arrived by September 1919. Wilno of course had been ceded to Poland shortly after the end of the war with Lithuania.

The German country had prospered, as the first Volkswagen 1920 Model had rolled off the line in mid-August, for nothing more than 999 Reichsmarks, the car quickly became popular, with everyone driving them. The 1920 Model Truck was being put in use by agriculturalists, The 1920 Kubelwagen had been put into use in the German Reichswehr, and the 1920 Model Car was being used by everyone, including the Kaiser, who was photographed in December standing outside the German Reichstag with his Volkswagen, which had become a popular ad campaign, showing the Kaiser enjoying his great Volkswagen vehicle.

Elsewise, the German Science Committee in Hamburg, had put together a developmental group, with Albert Einstein, Nikola Tesla, who was the direct rival of the American scientist, Thomas Edison. Einstein and Tesla had established Science Works in Hamburg as a front for their development, and had recieved investments from MANY German investors.

Image
Hitler's psyche and mental health had rapidly increased over 1919. At the end of 1918 he was hospitalized and was very angry for the defeat of Germany, now in 1920, he was a happy man, satisified. Contrast to his anti-semitic beliefs back in 1914, he was now friends with many Jews, including Albert Einstein, of whom he had spent many days simply talking and having a good time at his villa in Nuremberg, which had cemented Einstein's loyalty to Germany.

Image

Aswell, the old Kaiser, Wilhelm II had returned to Germany in November 1919, after one year of exile, and swore fealty to his own son, Wilhelm III, and began his retirement at his personal villa in Konigsburg, recieving a few loyal followers whom he told to swear fealty to his son. Despite the objections of France, Hitler had stated that Germany would protect Wilhelm II from persecution.

Bucharest, 1920

King Ferdinand looked a tthe election results. It was a disaster without a doubt.
Romania achieved great victories in Hungary under his command, but the people still voted for the Iron Guard.
32% of the people voted for them. Luckily this wasn't enough to rule in Romania, as the other parties built a great coalition.

Alexandru Averescu was his Prime Minister now and Ion I.C. Bratianu the Minister of Finance
As Averescu was Minister of Foreign Affairs he enabled an alliance with Austria-Hungary right after they defeated Hungary.
The newly elected Minister of Foreign Affairs Iuliu Maniu will stay on this course and has enabled the cancelling of the war reparations Austira had to pay to Romania. Bratianu was highly against the cancelling, but his opinion wasn't shared.

_________________________________________________________________

Ion Antonescu sat at his desk, looking at the daily newspaper.
Romanians were angry. The Hungarians got a lot of jobs as they were cheaper workers and jews and communists were hated.
The public opinion was they would try to destroy Romania and jews and communists would be almost the same.
Corneliu Zelea Codreanu stormed into the room and saluted Antonescu.

"My friend! Congratulations on the recent elections. Next time we will get the power!", he said and smiled.
"I hope so, Iasi could need some cleaning to save it from the jews", Antonescu replied with hate in his voice.
Codreanu laughed. "The people have already started. Someone deployed a bomb in a synagogue today. Five jews died."
General Antonescu nodded. The people swalloed the propaganda of the Iron Guard.

austria and romania enabled an alliance, iron guard lost the elections but antisemitism is on the rise

Vienna, 1920

The grand victories and following partitioning of Hungary between Austria and Romania has left the two nations as close allies. Soviet power in the Balkans has been broken with the execution of Bela Kun and the local leadership. Soon to follow young Crown Prince Otto was crowned as King of Hungary. The two ancient nations have also remerged into a dual monarchy. Thus we have once more emerged as Austria-Hungary however we will remain a Crown Republic. With it's respective joint capitals of Vienna(Austria) and Budapest (Hungary). In hungary as well Vice-Admiral Miklós Horthy the Nationalist commander of the Danube River Fleet has been made Prime Minister of Hungary. The cancellation of war repirations by Romania has allowed the state to slowly rebuild economicly.

As well in the Fatherland Front the sucsessor to the martyred Chancellor Dollfuss, Chancellor Starhemberg has accepted as our new Chancellor with the moderate Kurt Schuschnigg whom is also a decorated war hero. meanwhile the Austrian Legion under Field Marshal Count Franz Conrad von Hötzendorf in Poland serves as military advisors to taht nation as tensions with Soviet Russia grow. War Minister Rudolf Stöger-Steiner von Steinstätten retired after being awarded several medals for his planning of Operation Savoy. he acts as an intermidierary between the army and governemnt. His sucsessor meanwhile is General Baron Wladimir Giesl von Gieslingen a hero of the war has continued to proceed wth his predescessors policies.

Vienna

In light of improved Austro-Hungarian/Romanian relations a marriage has been arranged between the royal Habsburg and Hohenzollern families via Archduke Albrecht Franz, Duke of Teschen aged 23 a relative of Crown prince Otto and possible sucsessor to the Habsburg throne. And Princess Marie of Romania both are young and many hope this arrangement will allow a lasting friendship between Austria-Hungary and Romania. The groom to be's father Archduke Friedrich, Duke of Teschen has stated 'This si a time of celebration' as Albrecht is the Archdukes only son and thus heir. The government as well has wished the two happiness and prosperity. Finally vice-Chancellor Kurt Schuschnigg has been made the young mans best-man in light of the Archdukes service under the vice-Chancellor in Hungary.

January 1920
Over the previous eleven months, Chief of State Józef Piłsudski, with the assistance of Field Marshal von Hötzendorf and Chief of Staff Emil Fey of the Austrian Legion, began training huge numbers of soldiers in preparation for the attack on Belarus. Piłsudski had expected the war to begin in a matter of months, but practical reasons forced planning and training to continue for the entirety of this time. There were now a few hundred thousand men, all having received a satisfactory amount of training to fight the Red Army.

Piłsudski was dedicating a large amount of his time to preparing for the Belarus invasion throughout 1919, so President of the Ministers (now renamed to Prime Minister) Ignacy Paderewski, and since December, Leopold Skulski, was taking over his duties. In October, Paderewski finally completed the musical piece he was working on: it turned out to be nothing more than a brief sonata. He retreated from politics, and has since become more focussed on composing and teaching music.

The situation in Danzig was now very tame. With the alliance proper in full swing, many people, especially the Polish minority, in the Freistaat had no concern with the joint occupancy by Germany and the Polish Navy, and instead supported its creation as an appropriate solution to a problem which otherwise would have dragged on for another twenty years. Likewise, life was improving for Poland itself: the many successful economic policies implemented by the Sejm were beginning to show its effect, especially in the areas most ravaged by the Great War. There was general support for the social policies as well, and women were starting to become more and more represented in the Sejm since women's suffrage was permitted in the state's early days. There was even a female candidate for Prime Minister. All in all, despite the increasing tensions with the now USSR, the people of Poland, as well as the people of Danzig, prospered.

Piłsudski felt that Poland was finally ready to take Belarus, and he hoped von Hötzendorf and Fey would be too. Having arranged what he hoped would be the final meeting before attacking Belarus, he eagerly awaited the Field Marshal's arrival.

Giurgiu, Romania, 1920

A Romanian newspaper reported that Bulgarian border soldiers have killed members of the Iron Guard today.
Since the end of the first World War both nations have never spoken with eachother.
King Ferdinand I spoke to his nation over radio broadcast.

My fellow countrymen, sons and daughters of Romania
The Bulgarian encroachment on Romanian citizens, no matter what their political views are, is an absolute insult to us.
We will not accept this disgusting act against us! My board and I will discuss soon about how to react.
May god protect us all.

Even before he talked with his board, 48.000 soldiers made their way to Bulgaria to assist the defending forces of 12.000 soldiers.
The Iron Guard mobilised it's forces too. An estimated number of 10.000 armed citizens could help the army of Romania.
Iron Guardists in Bulgaria have prompted their fellow members to act against tthe Bulgarian government too.

Léopoldville, Belgian Congo. January 1920

It was a small, non-descript office set inside one of the administration buildings of the city's military garrison of the Force Publique, the Belgian Congo's colonial peace-keeping military force. A table had been laid out showing the Belgian Congo and various portions of her neighbours: French North Africa and the Cameroons to the north and west, and British East and South Africa to the east and south. The men, who were assembled various commanders of various colonial units, were however concentrating on a sliver of land between the Belgian Congo and French Cameroon on the Atlantic Coast. The overall commander, Lieutenant-General Charles Tombeur, was at the center of the planning and was pointing to a red circle in the west of the country.
"Cabinda," he said after a small pause. "Is our next acquisition. It has everything we need, it has resources and a port for which we can export out of. And we have the numbers, the equipment, and the expertise to so. Now, our plans for the invasion are as follows. Our first proposal is to invade Cabinda from the north at Kimongo and using the road that leads to the southwest, take the territory. Our second proposal is to use a two pronged attack from the northeast and south of the territory, from Kimongo and Iema, which would overrun the territory in a matter of days. Our third proposal, which is the most cumbersome, is to have a three pronged attack on the territory with the third force attacking from Chimbuande." A man in an air force uniform began to speak.
"Our forces will have the support of the Air Force. We are receiving two squadrons of fighter aircraft and three squadrons of bomber aircraft, two of which will be permanently based in the Congo and one specifically for the invasion of Cabinda. Now, from our perspective, the secind proposal would be best purely because it provides the most direct route to the capital city and port of the territory and will give the main force assistance when dealing with any resistance." Many of the assembled commanders nodded in agreement. Lieutenant-General Tombeur then made an a final announcement.
"We will also be employing armoured combat vehicles in operations. I will now inform His Highness of our decision and requirements."

Declaration of war, Romania, 1920

It was already late in the night and only few were still hearing the radio broadcast. It was their King speaking.

People of Romania
We are a strong and powerful nation and Bulgarias attack has shocked us indeed.
But we weren't shocked by their action to attack unguilty civilians. They were always cowardly and weak.
We were shocked by how they dare to attack our glorious Kingdom!
It was no easy decision, but we agreed on declaring war on Bulgaria.
Now it is on you, the people, to support our precious homeland with everything you have.
Our armies are determined to take over Bulgaria.
We will not falter!
Hoist your flag, this war will end victorious!

Right after the declaration of war the first victories could be counted.
The completely unorganised and surprised Bulgarian army was too weak to defend the city of Rousse.
Several smaller border-cities were captured two.
Romania has sent a total of 60.000 soldiers, split up into two armies of 40.000 and 20.000 men.
The armed Iron Guard members will fight against partisans mostly.

Legionaries are coming home!

On the 1st Jan. 1920 first of the Czechoslovak Legionaries from Russia arrived to Carpathian Ruthenia through Romania.Their way was more then a year long from Vladivostok to Czechoslovakia. The last one crossed the border on 3rd Jan.
But not all legionaries are now in Czechoslovakia 15,000 are still in Russia as soldiers of the Red Army and now they are moving on the Soviet-Polihs border to help with training of the Red Army and help them with their skills from WW1.But majority of the legionaries (25,000) are now back in Czechoslovakia and they are being deployed near Bratislava and Southern Slovakia (20,000) and 5,000 near Těšín to secure national borders of Czechoslovakia.

Ethnic riots in Sudetenland!

From December 1919 to January 1920, 319 ethnic Germans and 21 Czechoslovaks were killed during the large scale riots and clashes between ethnic Germans and Czechoslovaks in Sudetenland. These clashes resulted in deploying of gendermerie around the German inhabitated districts and in some cases it resulted in deplyoing of army.

Zwittau, Czechoslovakia

The first assembly of the Sudetendeutsche Partei was congregating in a small home in the German-majority Zwittau. Before the assembly convened, they played Königgrätzer Marsch with a few instruments, which they had adopted as the anthem of the Sudetenland Germans.

Konrad Henlein motioned for the song to cut off and he said, "German people of the Sudetenland, we cannot sit by and allow our persecution by the hands of the Czechs continue. I vote we form a solid political party, the SDP, and appeal for aid from Vienna and Berlin." Robert Mayer-Harting nodded and said, "I agree. We must either find common ground with the Czechs, or withdraw from the Czechoslovakian state." Henlein said, "We cannot allow these riots to destroy our chances as a people."

There was murmuring and letters were sent to Berlin and Vienna.

To: His Majesty Otto I von Habsburg-Lorraine, Emperor of Austria, King of Hungary
From : Konrad Henlein, Head of the Sudetendeutsche Partei

Greetings, your Majesty,

We are a group of dissatisified Germans living in Czechoslovakia in the Sudetenland Region. We request you pressure Czechoslovakia into recognizing us as a legitimate political party, so we may decide our fate in Czechoslovakia with peace, not bombs.

Signed,
Konrad Henlein
Head of the SDP

Vienna

Chancellors Renner and Starhemberg attended the latest meeting in the restored Reichsratsgebäude(Parliament). The once decrepit building which breiflly fallen into misuse had been cleaned and restored. Federal elections had ended and the joint government was approved of by the people. Meanhile in Budapest Prime minister Horthy was also begining parliament in Budapest. Buisness was back on track. As the last of the delegates entered the room and took their places the imperial national anthemn began to play. Meanwhile atop the buildin the old Imperial flag was raised in the air a symbol of reunification.

Field Marshal Count Franz Conrad von Hötzendorf and his Chief of Staff Colonel Emil Fey had spent eleven months in Poland with 10,000 members of the Austrian Legion. But thanks to the reunion with Hungary they now had 20,000 at their disposal. Walking into the offices of Marshal Józef Piłsudski. Hötzendorf at the same time he walked he read, the latest reports from his military advisors were quite good. The Polish were operating with great profficency. Meanwhile weapon from a returning Austro-Hungarian arms industry were flwoing north as well. He smiled they had a ways to go but for now Austria-Hungary had once more exceeded the worlds expectations.

Bulgaria, 1920

The Romanian forces had to fight hard against the Bulgarian troops the last days.
Instead of defending, Bulgaria moved his troops directly into the Romanian lines to counter-attack.
Romanian forces had marched up to Mezdra-Veliko Turnovo- Varna.
2 already small armies of the Bulgarians are now encircled in the cities of Pleven and Shoumen.

Image
Romanian Troops gathering near Pleven

General Dumitru Iliescu stood in his tent, commanding the 3 armies. The reinforcement troops of the Iron Guard would arrive soon and Romanias army will help out with another 20.000 men too. This war couldn't be lost. "General! The Bulgarians in Pleven try to break out."

Iliescu sighed and nodded. "Tell the troops to hem them in! If possible, push them back to Pleven. This would give us an excuse to bomb the city." The soldier saluted. "Yes, Sir!" he said and ran back. If the Romanians would kill those troops, another 6-7.000 Bulgarians would be either dead or arrested. But they fought harder than the Hungarians, probably because they didn't have to fight on two fronts.
It was actually quite a challenge to make progress on the battlefield.
