Scoring:
The scorinator I will be using is called xkoranate. For a simple explanation, it generates scores based on some randomness and how well each team is ranked. To start off, each team will start with the same rank. However, this will change over the course of the competition. The first way you can get a head start is by posting your club rosters. Each club you post your roster for will get a small bonus. You will also get a small bonus for all your clubs if you post an RP before the competition begins. You only have to post one RP to get it.

The other way ranks will change will be out of your control. Every time your club wins, you will gain a small bonus. On the other hand, every time they lose, they will lose a small bonus. Over the course of the entire league, a few teams will emerge as more dominant than the rest.

Last thing on the list is about the playoffs. After the league concludes, the top two teams from Division 1 will play the top teams from Division 2. Then, the champions will go on to battle for the 1st ever awarded Swiss cup.

You may now begin posting, and good luck to all in the tournament!

Jamil-Sur-Mer Atlas Lions

Basing themselves in the largest metropolis in Sulamalik, the Jamil-Sur-Mer Atlas Lions have led leaderboard in the national league for years. Under the guidance of the Garçon twins coaching duo the Lions have enjoyed their best season yet, suffering only two defeats and three ties. The team is known for their "all-or-nothing" aggressive offensives, exemplified best by the play style of their Captain Malik "The Lightening" Islam.

L'Ayun 110's

Hailing from shining capitol of Sulamalik, the 110's get their name from the area code which contains the Brenner football stadium, the biggest in the country. The 110's have been slipping over the past few seasons, critics pointing out the team's loss of "fundamental defensive basics" which had led the team to victories in the past. There's been controversy off the field, as 110 star defender Guy Debois has recently returned to the team after court mandated therapy for his gambling addiction. Time will tell if the failing team can regain its former standing as one of Sula's greats.

Florentine Premiers

The oldest football club in Sulamalik has outlasted the city that birthed it. The city of New Florence was absorbed into the greater Jamil-Sur-Mer metropolis in the early 1970's, becoming a suburb but keeping its unique football culture wholly independent. For many years the Premiers were seen as the laughingstock of the national clubs, never moving above the bottom rungs of the league. This defeatist run came to an end after a "miracle" winning streak that launched them from the bottom 10 to the top five. Commentators point to new head Coach Gerald LeBlanc for their recent success, critics have called LeBlanc out for his alleged racist statements concerning the composition of his team, yet the results from his leadership are undeniable.

Basil AC
After finishing first in the Swiss Domestic League, Basil suffered a disappointing finish in the play-offs, losing to both the White Lions and Berne AC. Though their position was unsure entering the international tournament, hopes have been bolstered by the recent announcement of a transfer from the Kinitarian team, Litora United, of striker Milan Beskid. This was not the only news, as the team also sold famous footballer Gordon du-Lusavik, who will travel to a different Kinitarian team, Damaciu AFC.

With the amazing 4-0 win by the L'Ayun 110's during the 1st Swiss league, already many sports fans are hailing the resurrection of this, once thought, fallen team. SPORTStalk radio is here to give you the most in depth coverage of the tournaments event, blow by blow, play by play. We're proud to have with us Monsieur Guy Dubois, defender for the 110's! Great to have you here Guy.

GD: Thank you... *laughs* I'm happy to be he--

ST: It truly was an amazing performance you did during today's match. Four goals to nill, WOW, amazing.

GD: Yeah, yeah... but, I mean, it was, like, a group effort--

ST: Of course, of course.

GD: ...Yeah, I mean I'm not about to say that I'm not extremely proud about how I did out there. Of course I am. I put everything I had into that game, both mentally and physically, and the game rewarded me. But all together, again, it was a group effort. Everybody was working together really well, almost as if we had telepathy y'know? And that's all due to our Coach, Monsieur Oberhofer.

ST: But I mean, for you, this must of been a *really* big achievement.

GD: I'm sorry...? I don't quite understand what you mean.

ST: Well, you know, you've just recently come out of court ordered rehab--

GD: For gambling...

ST: Court mandated rehab for gambling, yeah. Could you tell our listeners what kind of experience you had?

GD: * Laughs* I'm sorry... I think I've made a mistake.

ST: What do you mean?

GD: Well, I thought, and please excuse me for this mistake, but I thought that this show, SPORTStalk, was about sports.

ST: It is.

GD: Then let's just talk about the events on the field, okay? I was gone, now I'm back. End of story."

ST: Of course, sorry, sorry. So could you explain to us about the kind of training regiment Oberhofer put you through?

GD: It was rough, I'm not going to lie, but hey, the results speak for themselves. 'Back to basics' was a phase he used a lot * laughs* we had to watch old videos of our matches, understand how our playstyles had changed over the years. It was quite an eye-opening experience.

ST: Yeah, I suppose being off the field so long will do that to you.

GD: Hey look... I've already addressed this to you once. I'm sure my agent has already talk to you about this. Now, on air, I'm telling you to stop right now.

ST: This is my show Guy, I can assure you that it is. On my show we ask my questions. I haven't led you, if I've insulted you I apologized, but these are the types of questions our listeners want to hear.

GD: Yeah, yeah... alright I think were done here...

ST: Dubois! Dubois! Well... ladies and gentlemen that was Monsieur Guy Dubois defender for the L'Ayun 110's.

Netukai FC: 2-0-0
No surprise here, as Netukai were the regular season champions of the domestic league with a record of 16-6-4. They lost in the playoffs, however, to the...
Totai Osprey (1-0-2), who claimed the second automatic spot by winning the postseason tournament. They finished 14-4-8 in the regular season, with two of those losses coming to the...
Wokani Whales (0-1-1), who by finishing third in both regular and post season play clinched their automatic spot. They were 15-5-6 in the regular season.

Wokani Whales coach Nutomawo Rakai gave an interview today after the team's game. "We haven't faced international competition before, so it's definitely a new experience and a new level of play. It's tough to start out, but I think this league is a good place to do it."

Netukai FC forward Rumo Makainao also had some words after his team's game. "We've been playing well so far, and we're just trying to keep our focus going into the second half. We're practicing harder than ever this week."
"For the glory of our people, we govern our nation freely. For the glory of Polynesia, we help and strengthen our friends. For the glory of the earth, we do not destroy what it has bestowed upon us."

Here we are on Matchday 8, with a whole new day of results. I've decided to actually post the updated table tomorrow, because on Matchday 9 (tomorrow) we'll be exactly halfway through the league. However, as a general status update, the Twin Brooks Bulldogs lead the first Division with 19 points (nearest opponent has 16)...

Twin Brooks Bulldogs (EST) 4–1 Eldora Eagles (EST)
Bratvit Gold Sabres (BRT) 1–2 Lausaunne White Lions (FSS)
Basil AC (bye)

And the second division, where Florentine Premiers leads with 17 points (nearest opponent has 13)...
Division 2

L'Ayun 110's (SMK) 0–1 FC Bayville (ANL)
Netukai FC (MKV) 2–1 Total Osprey (MKV)
Arkangelsk Anvils (BRT) 0–1 Wakita Saints (EST)

Netukai FC received a great boost today when midfielder Noituno Kamai returned from injury. Kamai was the team's leading assister before he suffered a torn ACL during the second leg of the domestic semifinals.

Wokani striker Lomo Yunau had a rallying speech at a players only meeting after the ninth day of games. He reportedly talked about effort for all 90 minutes and not giving up.
"For the glory of our people, we govern our nation freely. For the glory of Polynesia, we help and strengthen our friends. For the glory of the earth, we do not destroy what it has bestowed upon us."
