A Brief Introduction to Almajoya
Almajoya is a small but heavily populated island nation in the region of Xaymaca. We are a constitutional monarchy led by Empress Melisma Ramijozana and Prime Minister Paterre Mercer. The demonyms "Almajoyese" and "Almajoyan" are both acceptable.
Our primary industries are tourism and bauxite; we are also home to many high-quality jewelers. Our priorities are education and the environment, as well as security.
International Diplomacy Program
Following a brief lull, our Department of Foreign Affairs is revamping Almajoya's embassy and consulate program. We request that any nations who had such arrangements with us before reapply; if your embassy is located in Jade, you may remain at that location.
Possible embassy locations are located on the following streets: Calla Embasse, Calla Internacional, and Calla Avara in our capital city, Jade. Calla Avara is a major thoroughfare located at the heart of the Government District; Calla Embasse and Internacional are at the southern end of the GD, in a smaller, quieter neighborhood.
Consulates may be located in any major city in which your nation has an interest (for example, a large number of emigrants or tourists). They will be held to the same stipulations as embassies.
Rules and Regulations
We are now applying stricter regulations on our embassy and consulate agreements.
- The number of staff will not exceed 15
- The number of security personnel will not exceed one for every two staff members
- The number of vehicles will not exceed one for every five staff and security members
- All vehicles will be unarmed
- Helicopters will be of civilian make and model, and shall not exceed one per embassy or consulate
- No weapon larger than an assault rifle will be allowed; however, traditional weapons such as swords will be accepted
- Embassies and consulates will be located in buildings not exceeding 2000 square feet in area and three stories tall
- The number of consulates established will be restricted to two except by request
- The buildings and the land on which they are located will remain the property of Almajoya; however, the laws of the represented nation will apply on the property
- Diplomatic immunity will be extended to all staff and security personnel, with the exception of incidents involving loss of Almajoyese life, from which only the Ambassador and his/her family are immune. However, perpetrators of any crimes against the Crown or the government will be subject to the full consequences stipulated by Almajoyese law
By submitting the following application, you indicate that your nation acknowledges and accepts the above rules and regulations.
Please submit your application to the attention of Colleen Biliotsu, Lady of Foreign Affairs.
