Because they are very good friends, I remember from my Commonwealth days.

If raiders start looking at condemnation as a reward, it might be a great thing to condemn raiders. I'm just not sure that Aegara is the most significant raider around.

Interesting which nations would you also consider as a significant Raider. It is possible that they also could be Condemned.

I'll keep a list if you would like to name them. REMEMBER ONLYTHE RAIDERS and their regions CAN BE CONDEMNED. defenders and neutral MUST be Commended!

Re various legalisty challenges: I'm not going to kill it as a tit-for-tat proposal because it seems to me it is more about politics that about one person's kneejerk response to a gripe with another person. This looks like region vs region stuff, or the usual raiders vs defenders generalised argument -- that is, politics.

Some posters have raised the question of the Condemnation having been submitted by a member of the same region as Aegara, and suggested that the proposal may have been written by Aegara.

Even if it were so, that doesn't make it illegal. It means that there is spin going on. One suggestion was that the region was seeking the same recruitment benefits that have been observed by other regions that have been condemned. Since the proposal is being submitted by a raider nation, it may be a nice cleft stick: either defenders vote against condemning a raider, or they vote for a condemnation that the raider -- possibly -- wants.

The point is, none of those things would be illegal. Sneaky politics, yes, but that's what the SC provides an opportunity for. It's up to the delegates to decide if they want to play it that way.

It's also up to the delegates to decide whether they find the stated arguments in favour of the Condemnation convincing.

At this stage, not illegal.

Well, then we should submit some condemnations that would make receiving a condemnation something undesirable.

Though I'm against giving him airtime, anyone want to write up one for Gov?

*sigh* Another one that's going to pass thanks to the 'Most WA Members Are Sheep' effect. Delegates, I implore you, please kill this thing now before it bogs down the real business of the WA.

Or the reverse Commend someone, someone who would see a commendation as an insult.

Actually there should be stated qualifications which should be met for these as well as liberations.

Thanks Ardy for stopping this very near train-wreck of a thread... to those who say that this is/was promoted by me, let me tell you now that it's a categorical no on this front. From what I can tell it seems as though a member of my region has taken it upon himself to do it, but since I'm not in the habit of arbitrarily banning people, I might as well let him have his say. (No "ebil raider" generalisations please, I really don't operate like that.)

Please people, don't turn this into another generic "raider vs. defender" or "GA vs. SC" punch up...

Well then you'll be delighted to know that I telegrammed all the delegates who approved this, asking that they withdraw their approvals. If you wish to help out with the campaign against this reaching quorum, then I'm sure I'll reveice a telegram from you in my inbox pretty soon...

I smell something going on here... to be honest. I will not approve this resolution, as the argument for a condemnation is too weak for me.

You do not work with him! He is terrible beyond any reproach he is truly incorrigible*!

And he is a RAIDER! (as seen in these esteemed halls fully deserving to be condemned.)

LOL so Defenders of the same Regions can Commend a region or nation and it is praised as the greatest thing and honor! And you, A mean old man, support it and don't proclaim that you smell a rat?

Yet here you become overly vocal?

What is wrong with this picture? Can you say unbalance and prejudice activity?

Guidelines must be established I believe.

BUT I tell you Aegara is extremely worthy of Condemnation!

I think you'll find yourself unpopular with other raiders when they found you set a precedent for condemning raiders. LWU already voiced their opinion about gaining a condemnation, and weren't happy with it, so for all those who aren't interested in getting one, you might want to drop your support.

I fear you are not seeing the full picture. Look to the past at Commend/Condemn the pattern has been established.

Defend = Commend
Raid = Condemn

Doing otherwise would upset the apple cart!

umm, no defenders have been commended that have a commendation still standing, no precedent and no raiders have been condemned for just being raiders, macedon was condemned for a number of other things as well as having raiding tactics far worse than most raiders(like re-founding captured regions).

Why would that matter at all?

I am in the same region as Aegara, and I tell you he deserves to be condemned. I should also be condemned for condemning him.

Hmmm...maybe I should be commended!
