"Is everyone ready, General Lee?" asked President Abigail Martins.
"Yes, Ms. President," Lee said. Lee was in the hangar of the LSS Alliance, while the President was back on Earth negotiating border problems. "All troops ready for briefing." Then he turned to the soldiers in the hangar. "Ok, soldiers! Listen up, we are currently on route towards 3 different planets in 3 different systems. Each one with their own attributes and life. Now here is Dr. Jake Turtledove to explain the planets."
"Thank you, General," said Turtledove, pushing his glasses into place. He took out a remote and showed the planets and the lifeforms. "Well, like General Lee said, we are on route towards 3 planets. The first one is GPC9-25. It is a blue-green planet like Earth. The difference? GPC9-25 is half the diameter of Earth and has lower gravity. The life resembles giant balloons that are capable of flight. So the life pose no threat. However, the planet's size does pose a threat to human life. The next is Anear G. It is a gas giant about the size of Saturn and is not inhabited itself. One of its eight moons, Anarbus, has an entire ocean under the ice. Although we haven't study all lifeforms yet, we assume that most of them are dangerous. The final is Gialayo. It is believed to once be home to sapient beings until an asteroid hit it and killed all life.. However, artificial beings left by them sill live. Based on what we saw a few years ago, they are capable of interstellar flight and war. Gialayo will be saved for last, but we will need help, even with a full-scale invasion." Then Dr. Turtledove took a sip of water. "They all are quite some distance from Earth and the territories."
"Thank you Doctor," said President Martins. "Well, as you can see, we will face challenges.. They are unlike any other. Planetary threats, biologic threats. Be careful out there! Move out." Everyone in the hangar saluted and President Martins signed off.
