I'm just throwing this out there, but the English (and I am English) have given those people reasons to resent them. And those who support nationalism in their respective countries, such as Scotland and Ireland, typically already resent the English.

Through what? They have all the benefits of being part of the Largest Empire the world has every seen, they didn't have to work for it, and they get their own languages subsidized by the government which hurts the English speaking population English

Yes, and the poor living standards, cultural genocide, forced movements, language subsidised? How? The native languages of the celts that the English conquered suffered, one died out, several others came close to it. THose who still speak it face racism against their language and culture. How is that benefiting from an empire? It was an empire built on tears.

Aye, it seems to me to put myself as being owned by the human race or something. While I do have human-pride, the idea that there aren't divisions... seems to undercut individualism to an extent.

Tying oneself to the concept of a nation seems to undercut individualism to an extent, at least for me. With no divisions, we are not tied down. We are truly free to be whoever we choose. We no longer fight against one another, but for one another, for everyone, and one is not loyal to a group except humanity. With less groups to be loyal to, the individual is given more freedom.

Anglo-Saxon didn't die out in the sense that a lot of native languages in North America did. It merely transformed, over time, into the language we're speaking now.

Neither did Scot's or any of the Celtic languages, they have changed from their medieval states into something More Germanic sounding. But Anglo-Sanxo is not like English at all, and neither is modern Gaelic to older Gaelic

I'm not talking about revolution. I'm talking about societal evolution. Societies do not stagnant. That's a lie they teach you in school. They change all the time.

We need to evolve to realize that there are technical solutions to the real problems facing the world today. We need to apply the scientific methods in society.

I'd be careful about applying the scientific method to society, lest you create social Darwinism. I'm all for fixing things when they don't work and using science to improve production of food and raise the standard of living, but I'm drawing the line at using the scientific method to "improve humans". It rings too much of 1984.

I don't want cooperation except within the nation. I want cooperation in order that We might compete with Them and thus produce something extraordinary through efforts driven by the two most powerful emotions - love and fear.

Who is Them? Them should not be other people, if such people are not a force for evil. Them should only be that which creates poverty, that which restricts freedom, and that which spreads ignorance.

When I say apply the scientific method to societal concern, what I'm saying is how many resources are there to sustain the carrying capacity of the Earth? How much clean air, water, food, land is there? What are the techniques for gathering the necessities of life? How are people reacting to their environment both mental and psychological?
This is applying the scientific method to society and planning it out. This is called a Resource Based Economy.
